Northerners who miss the classic diner experience can rejoice! Tucker St is as classic as it gets when it comes to a diner. An extensive menu with options no matter the day or mood. The food itself isn't groundbreaking in any way shape or form so don't go there expecting anything crazy. It's exactly what you'd expect for a good diner so if that's what you're in the mood for, this is the spot to hit. That said, they do have creative options such as the Tucker St burrito which is like a McGriddle in a burrito form! And for the price, you can't complain. Service was great and timely and the ambiance of this place is classic retro diner feel with a modern twist. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here and think it's worth a shot for a nice, affordable meal!

The new Tucker Street Diner is a nice addition to the popular Smoky Hollow District. Inside it's bright and blue with plenty of space to stretch out in. The menu covers 10 or 12 plastic-laminated pages in classic diner style. Choose from eggs (breakfast served all day) sandwiches, burgers along with some blue plate special. Pretty much everything is under $20 which makes for an affordable meal in this neighborhood. I tried their chicken-fried steak plate which was decent. Medium to largish portion sides (but not huge) and a huge thumbs-up to their classic onion rings which is available as a side. They are still working on their ABC license so you'll have to deal with basic beverages for now. Overall I like what they're doing even though I'm not a huge diner fan. Affordable eats always works for me and Tucker Street Diner is doing a fine job on that measure.

I was so disappointed by the taste and quality of the food. I ordered French toast and the bottom was burnt ANDDD they have any flavor. They didn't put butter on the French toast and it was room temp by the time it got to the table, so the butter didn't melt. The side of fruit was frozen fruit that they allowed to melt, disgusting.

We rode downtown for a late breakfast after hearing about this place on Tik Tok. Our food was great, would definitely eat here again.

The food and the diner was great. I had the regular American breakfast and my husband had the Nutella covered french toast with strawberries. The location was beautiful in the downtown. Our waiter was also checking up on us frequently. We will definitely come again to this dinner!

    GIGANTIC MILKSHAKES!!!!. Yeah rite!.

I wanted to try this new place and I order the Burger togo with house chips and those chips tasted like they been seating out for hours and had no flavor and they were also soggy and I also order 3 gigantic milkshakes togo and they give it to me in what it looks like a 14oz togo cup they told me They didn't have the other bigger cup lids!. I paid around 36$ just to be disappointed. This place has so much potential but its not managed well!.

As we were walking up my grandson said " this is a fancy place ". The decor is nicer than most bbq places for sure. I was surprised to see so many options that were not bbq and a large selection of sides. He got meatloaf with Mac and cheese and baked beans. He said it was the best meatloaf he ever had and this comes from a picky eater! He loved the Mac and cheese as well. It was a huge serving so I got to try the meatloaf and he was right. He didn't share the Mac and cheese. Neither of us cared for the baked beans. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and potato salad. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Awesome. The potato salad was ok but I didn't care for the Brussel sprouts . I would try two different sides next time. A basket of hush puppies and biscuits came as well. We were both so thirsty and I can report they had excellent sweet tea. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The food came out faster than I expected. We will be back!

When you walk in the space feels like a converted industrial warehouse with a polish of upscale. You'll check in with the host when you arrive and then be seated. For the starter we ordered the Pit Sampler (a medley of their appetizers; which includes pit-smoked wings, BBQ soul rolls, Southern-style deviled eggs, and pimento cheese balls). Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the pit sampler as most dishes were a bit on the dry side, but the free basket of biscuits and hush puppies were great. For the entree we ordered the half rack of baby back ribs which were good but pretty fatty in some sections. I would return again in the future but may try something else on the menu.

Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

As of this review they are the #2 most reviewed place in Raleigh only behind the Pit. When we went last week for a farewell dinner it took us 3 weeks to get in. We got turned away 2 other times. The place was always packed and busy yet cozy and calm with great service. Hopefully they relocate or put some of the items from the menu at Pooles. Fuquay could use a nice place like this and it would be way cheaper than Raleigh! Best of luck to the staff in the future as they all look for work.

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.
