The most delicious and most authentic Mexican restaurant in Etown. I've never had bad service and I've never had a bad meal. Kid of a hole in the wall but that's exactly what you should be looking for. If you see a bunch of bright lights and sombreros everywhere you look, run. Location is a little off the beaten path. It has a little bit of a diner feel and there is a small grocery attached. There is a little bit of a language barrier but they are very friendly. We tried multiple items. Everyone cleaned their plates. Side note , I personally thought the hot sauce was extremely hot. It took me by surprise, so taste it before you squirt it all over, lol. We stopped in for lunch after seeing other reviews. Oh my goodness. This is the real thing. We had the carne asada tacos and the pollo tacos. They were fantastic and served with red or green salsa on the side. We also ordered chips and guacamole which my husband declared were the best he ever ate. We are from the San Diego area, so Mexican food like this tastes like home. The restaurant is clean and the man who waited on us was friendly and his smile and kind demeanor overcame any language barrier. This was a very special stop on our road trip. read more

We stopped here on our way back to Louisville from watching the eclipse. In a nutshell, this place is the best Mexican food I've had since leaving California last year. The carne asada, Barbacoa, al pastor and carnitas tacos were all amazing. Hubby got the small carnitas burrito and it was huge. The chips are crisp, fresh and airy and served with a delicious mild salsa (ask for spicy if you want it!). I LOVE Mexico Lindo! I had to go to Elizabethtown on an errand and it was a challenge to find a local (not chain) restaurant for lunch. This place is snuggled in the back of a strip mall and it's part store, part taqueria with a foosball table in between. It is run by a beautiful family whose children helping out charmed me to the core. But the food alone recommends it. I'm not an expert, but it tasted authentic to me. And so good!! I got chips and excellent salsa to start and had the tamale and three tacos: carnitas, chicharron, and carne pastor. The tacos were amazing, served with fresh cilantro, juicy limes, and two kinds of salsa in squeeze bottles (dark red and yellow-green, again tasting handmade and authentic). The chips were so crunchy, the tortillas so fresh...I was in heaven. (To be completely honest the tamale was a little dry, but I was so thrilled with everything else and the prices were so affordable I didn't mind.) I really enjoyed their jamaica as well. Coming from somewhere where we ate a lot of authentic and non-authentic mexican, and have mexican friends who cok alot, this is good food. The is the closest to authentic as I can find since moving to Kentucky; especially Elizabethtown. I highly recommend the tacos - The tacos are great and I love they offer several meats (Lengua). Love that they offer Pozole too for the times I am craving it and dont have the time to make it! I am so happy to see they have expanded and hope the quality and service remains the same. read more

Best tacos in town. I would go on to say that they have the best tacos within 100 miles radius. I've been going there for at least 4 years and they've always been consistent. Their taco sauce/salsa...very addictive. It's a family run Mexican restaurant and it shows in their food. I drive many miles many times just to get my taco fix. You gotta stop by this place. They didn't pay me to write this review, but I would gladly write another one for a bottle of their salsa verde and their hot red salsa sauce. This grocery/restaurant can be tricky to find. It's located in a large strip mall, but you can't see it at first. You need to park and walk through a small courtyard to get there. We had some authentic, Mexican-style chicken tacos. Meaning cilantro, onions, and lime; no tomatoes, sour cream, or iceberg lettuce. Delish! The waiter's English seemed a little bit limited but we got exactly what we ordered despite the slight language barrier. I poked around the grocery store too but didn't take anything home that day., I noticed that their prices on large bulk items (like a huge can of black beans) were good. So finally found, after 3 years here, a proper Mexican food place-everything made from scratch, very fresh, flavorful and authentic. It's a restaurant on one side, with a little Latin grocery market in it too, called, "Mexico Lindo", run by the sweetest Mexican couple. It's located at the same shopping center as the Peddlers Mall. Best Mexican I've had in this area(I'm a chef and lived in Southern California for many years so I know good, authentic Mexican). I had a chicken tamale which was made on the premises that was excellent with a fabulous homemade sauce the wife makes herself from avocado, cilantro, jalepeno, lime & tomatillos. All the reviews are spot on. This is a really hard place to find but well worth it. Pull into the old strip mall and walk into the back and you will find it. The entire menu is in Spanish but we had no trouble ordering. The lady that waited on us was hands down the nicest woman that I have ever met. She helped with recommendations and everything. If you think every Mexican restaurant needs serve chips and salsa, then this is not your place. A Coke comes in cold 1/2 liter bottles and the place is in a corner of a Mexican grocery store. The menu is small, but the portions are huge and full of flavor. The fact that it is a small place that is really undiscovered makes it worth visiting. The food is really cheap. Try this place. Not fancy but GREAT TASTY food. Hard to find but it is there. We had sampling of 7 things. We ordered small portions when we could but they were still huge. The chips were home made and airy crispy. Salsa was not hot, and also home made. There are 8 or so variety of fillings, so know what you're ordering. For such a cheap taco try new things. Carne asada taco came with fried shell and tasted wonderful. Burrito and quesadilla were tasty and huge. Service was helpful in answering questions and friendly. Tamale was dry, no chili over it. Empanadas are only one type of filling.. no combination of vegetable/ meat filling. Not on menu but sometimes they have pasole. Had small/ huge bowl.
