The same with the check out process. If you want to bag your grocery, you can purchase paper or plastic options. This why I was use my reusable bags or a box if needed. Meat and produce selection are better than they used to be. Most people will still find that they can't quite get everything on their list at this location, but it's better than it was.

They even have a frozen section for fun, tasty, exotic meats and such. I do have one glaring issue, which is most every product I looked at, especially the ones on sale, were past their expiration date. This is concerning, especially given the premium price they are asking for the products. Both the price and the freshness concern held me back quite a bit in my purchases. In spite of this, I am still so happy and proud to give Kat's five stars because I respect and appreciate their mission so much. You should absolutely come here and patronize this shop. Prices are fine; store carries major label, main-stream products, not expired / off-brand lines. It's the best option in this part of town, as far as regular / average groceries go (since E.W. James closed) and is usually a zoo, both because of shoppers and an inconsistent layout. They carry staples / basics and highly processed foods, for the most part. Checkout can take awhile because of how many folks are checking out (not poor service). I only go in for an occasional item when I'm in town, for convenience-sake, so I'm not sure whether it's possible to get most of everyone's usual grocery needs here or not, since, for a grocery store, their footprint is pretty small (and, again, their focus isn't on raw food or items needing preparation before immediate cooking / serving. Produce is more than a bit iffy, though. Never tried any of their meat / poultry / fish offerings, either.

It's been amazing the past several weeks getting to try extremely fresh produce, some veggies I would normally turn away from (beets, turnips), and some veggies I've never tried (garlic scales, kohlrabi). Aside from just vegetables, there's several vendors that have a bunch of varieties and cuts of meat (beef, pork, chicken, lamb). There's jam, flowers, honey, baked goods, eggs, and so much more. My favorite is when they have mushrooms, and if they find a cheese vendor it's over for my bank account and my diet! I'm so happy to be able to support and get my vitamins in a sustainable, community-oriented way. I come here every week and you all should too!

They have farm vegetables, handmade soaps, flowers, grass feed meats, sometimes fresh bread. I am always pleased with my produce and the quality and price. They have a porter potty and sometime a couple a food trucks on Saturday mornings. Parking can be a little tricky depending on what time you get there. The earlier the better.
