Newly opened restaurant that's worth a try!!! My bf and I were blown away, especially trying out their traditional dishes. So far everything we ordered was delicious, tender and perfectly seasoned from appetizers, main entree, and dessert. If you're adventurous and used to eating different parts of the lamb or beef- try the lamb heart, lamb liver, and beef cheeks. Great pair for your liquor such as beer. BYOB! For main course, order the lamb tandoori which was aaaaah-mazingly very tender partnered with the seasoned rice. Cooked for 5 hours. (you need to call a day ahead to order it). Finish your meal with the semolina helva and turkish icecream- like a nutty moist pudding. Reminiscent of steel oat texture. Not too sweet, just the way i like my desserts. Lovely little cozy restaurant. Loved the grilled branzini and the octopus. Is a BYOB!!! Only downside is that is a bit price. The ambiance is great and the stuff is super attentive. They offered a complimentary portion of a desert since I had no idea what it really was and tea as well. read more

Best Chicken Shish Kebab so far to me. So tender and flavorful. Loved spice. We ordered several cold appetizers which were also good. It is hard to find a restaurant that adds just the right amount of salt. Usually it's too salty. But Meyhane does it just right. Staff is very friendly too. We had a really great time there. The food was wonderful here and so was our lovely waiter. It was authentic Turkish and a BYOB. We had the cheese platter to start with Baba Ganoush that paired perfectly with our wine we brought. It is the worst Turkish restaurant we have been in the US. The service was very amateur. Our waitress didn't know anything about the food or what they have in the kitchen. We had to ask every single detail, including water, spoons etc. The food was quite bad. We actually liked the Meyhane salad (gavurdağı), close to origInal version and actually tasty. But the rest was close to terrible. We had fava and meyhane eggplant (köpoğlu) , both of which lacked any taste. We had add salt and some sauce from the salad to make them edible. We also had a shrimp casserole, which was not good at all. No garlic, no taste whatsoever. We were so disappointed and hope you think twice before coming, especially if you have a slightest idea of what the real Turkish food can be. read more

Services was on point. The waitress was very pleasant and hospitable. The food was just good. Nothing extra special here. Prices were a bit high for the cuisine and portions. For example, grilled lamb $30 and you get only 4 very thin fat filled chops with no sides except a pile of red onions. Tapas were another near miss where $10 humus was overpriced and far from best I've had in the area. Grill chicken wings were great but again pricey. If they lower the price point, add some sides like rice or potatoes it may have pushed my rating higher. read more

Meyhane is different from the many Turkish options in the area. For one thing, you will find dishes that you really just don't see much of anywhere else. Instead of the typical kebabs, grilled fish, and cold appetizers you might be accustomed to if you live in the area, you'll find things like beef cheek casserole, tongue casserole, grilled beef heart, hot hummus casserole, fried mussels, etc. Honestly, the beef cheeks dish is one of the best I've ever had, just sizzling away in tasty, spiced oil. Our server brought out a whole dish of cold appetizers for us to choose from before the meal, and there were also several options in there that you don't often find. The service is very friendly and the owner (or chef) came by often during our meal to either describe a dish to us, or just ensure we were enjoying our meal. He also brought us a free dessert to try, which was exceptional, and also not something I've seen on a Turkish menu in the past. The prices reflect the quality, so do bear that in mind, but it's definitely worth it if you're looking for something different or more adventurous to try. They are BYOB, so you can recoup some of the cost right there if drinking with the meal is your thing. They're also open late, so it's a great option once everything else closes down. read more

I've been to many Turkish restaurants, all over the east coast, since it's in my top two favorite foods. The baba ganoush was delicious and plentiful, endless pide bread with it. Stoped in last Saturday and all i can say i was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea that they were near my workplace and so exited that they are. Since I've been there I've ordered takeaway 4 times. Pretty large menu. Grilled meat tastes very authentic, all the mezzes (appetizers) both hot and cold are on point and very fresh. Also a great deal of spending a fun time with your friends during weekends where they do live traditional turkish music. Their food and raki is equal to a great great time. Some of the best foods ive had in a while. The tapas (meze) variety is probably the widest range i have seen in a Turkish restaurant in the tri-state area. Some of the local favorites in Turkey like kokorec,midye,cheek,tounge are hard to come by in the USA so i was suprised to see them on the menu as well. The owner and his wife are super friendly and attentive plus the prices are really fair for what they serve no complaints there either. A must try for fans. read more

Kebap was raw, nothing was tasty service was bad as it got (they were so nice though which I have to give credit).
