M&A Appliance- Metko number 1-HORRIBLE!! A neighbor recommended him. He came to my home to give me an estimate on my washer that was working but making a noise he told me it was the motor and it would cost me $368 to fix .He seams like he's a nice and honest person, but don't let that fool you!! He is horrible he asked for $300 down to order the motor I only said I can give him $200 cash for now . He took my $200 and gave NO receipt and said it would take 2 or 3 weeks for the motor. Then I tried calling him after 3 weeks he wouldn't respond to my calls or texts to give me an update now going on 4 weeks..He finally responded with attitude! Saying if he would call all of his customers to give updates he would be on the phone all day! ( but when anyone has a business that is what you do give updates RIGHT..So with his bad attitude and raising his voice I asked for my money back thankfully he returned it. I had someone else check my washer out and it was only a sock that was stuck that only cost me $40 ... SO BE AWARE!!of MENKO MR HORRIBLE!!! Very BAD business. read more

My experience with Metko started out great then ended very bad. He was highly recommended by a friend's friend saying she knew him for over 10 years. My Jen Air stove top igniter wasn't working , he came and said it needed to be replaced and to pay him for the parts so he can order it. Since he was so highly recommended, I did not hesitate to pay him $140 for the part. He said he will call when part came in. Two months past and no call from him. I called multiple times, left him messages both text and voice, no response. Finally got in touch with him, he said he will call me to let me know when he can come. Again, no call from him. Again, after multiple calls and text, he came. When he came, he said he had the wrong parts and started to blame "them" who sent the wrong part. He said he will get the right part and call me when he gets the part. I asked are you sure you will call me, it was so hard for me to get you to come back. He promises to call. Another month passes, no call from him. I call and text him again multiple times but no response again!!! I finally texted him asking for my money back if he cannot fix my stove. He had cashed my check in August and now it's November. After multiple calls and text, I finally get a response from him saying he will refund the parts money but deduct $40 for "poor" service(see photo). I asked why he's charging me when he couldn't fix the stove and he starts to get upset saying it's for coming to my house. I told him to keep the $40, just refund me the rest. He promises to Zelle me that night but ,again, took me three days to receive the money after having to text him couple more times. I cannot recommend him at all! Very bad. read more

At first when I contacted M&A appliance I was extremely grateful that he answered and was able to come within 2 hours. He was extremely detailed and explained everything to me. He said I will be back in 3 to 4 hours to finish the job as I am going to let it finish defrosting. 6+ hours later I had to contact him to see if he was coming back. First thing he said is "so sorry I forgot." We'll that kinda sucked for me. So I went on good old YouTube and was able to finish the job myself. The sad and unfortunate part is that he still expected to be paid for service he did not even complete. My stove that has been at our house before we moved in decided to not work last week. So i did what most people did and watched some youtube videos and how to fix possibly could be wrong. When that failed, i took the recommendation from my downey facebook group and called Metko. He was able to tap his screwdriver on my gas valve, which got it to work again. Similar to banging on your starter if your car wont start. The youtube videos didnt show that was a option i had. I have used Metko several years ago and like so many of the reviews stated, he was responsive and detailed. I called him yesterday due to an issue with my dryer and thought of him at the last minute as the normal guy I have used for my stove doesn't work with the computer board LG dryers. He answered the phone and asked me to text my address. I have not heard a peep from him. Sent him a text this morning and still no answer. I now recall why I stopped using him and found someone else. Metko is AMAZING, I'm not sure why he's got negative reviews but he's been by "Go To" repairman for 15+ years. He never tries to make me spend more than I have to, he explains/shows me everything he does. He's fixed a 15 year old washer/dryer repeatedly. Yes, I could buy a new one but if you only have money for a repair, I'm going with the repair. Metko is very responsive, he's come out on New Year's Day, 6 at night and every time my washer or dryer works another 3-5 years. People, he's just one man that works more than 9-5, he's amazing. M&A Alliance is a fraud. We referred them to a neighbor, an 89 yo lady. The owner came out out and "fixed her oven" and charged $400. The oven worked for 2 days. She has repeatedly called and no response. She has been without a oven since September. She went ahead and ordered a new oven in October after no response from M&A, but they are on back order until February. Nothing worse than scamming seniors. Sad. read more

RE-POST: CAUTION -- BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE YOU CONSIDER USING M & A APPLICANCE IN DOWNEY. Our experience was very, very disappointing. We hired M & A Appliance to repair a Danby under-the-counter wine refrigerator/cooler last April 2018. After physically taking the refrigerator from our home numerous times for repair, the refrigerator to date does not work!! The longest it ran after any repair done by M & A Appliance was 2 to 3 months. We repeatedly asked "the professional/Metko" from M & A Appliance if the refrigerator could be repaired with no indication that it could not. We now have indicated to M & A Appliance "enough is enough" and that we have been more than patient during this extended timeframe. They are unwilling to return our money (multiple checks written and cashed) as they feel their actions are warranted and they acted in a "professional" manner. Another word of caution regarding M & A Appliance is they very rarely return phone calls. If you get upset and indicate a call must be returned before taking further action, you have a better chance of actually getting your call returned. There is absolutely no follow up from M & A Appliance/Metko to see how repaired appliance is running or if customer is satisfied -- professionalism at its lowest!! Since M & A Appliance does not have the expertise to repair the Danby under-the-counter wine refrigerator/cooler, we are requesting a refund of all monies paid to M & A Appliance ($300.00). A claim has been filed with the Better Business Bureau (Complaint Case #708973 - Ref #11-576737-708973-9-500). DO NOT USE M & A APPLIANCE IN DOWNEY. read more

My father and I have both been using M&A for years. Metko is professional, friendly, reasonable and can fix pretty much anything. I don't live in Downey but he recently fixed my washing machine and was willing to come after hours when I get home from work. A great guy who can get at any problem. 1st time I called, he (Metko) was spot on. I THOUGHT i had FINALLY found a reliable repair man. Our Samsung dryer wasn't working and was new. He told me the drum was bad and it was a manufacturer problem and to not let Samsung tell me otherwise. I called Samsund and they fixed drum with no problem. Metko could have charged for the repair but he didn't. I was so relieved.....I found an honest person to do business with.....or so I thought. Our water heater was leaking and on Christmas Eve I called Metko to see of he could fix it. I went to Home Depot and got a new water heater. Metko came out on Christmas Day and put in the new water heater. He said he would come back to pick up the old one and bracket it to the house and fix the venting. He NEVER came back. I had to remove old water heater myself and had painter do the brackets for me. I assumed (MY MISTAKE) he maybe forgot since it was the holidays...but I took care of it myself and paid someone else to do the brackets. Having trouble with my dryer again. Metko comes over, tightens a couple screws in the dryer door, charges $40 for home visit and leaves. Within 10 minutes, dryer shut off again, still not fixed. My sis called Metko and he asked for serial #, then said, never mind, he has it. Then a couple days go by, nothing from Metko. I left message on his cell, no call back. I texted him 2 times, NOTHING. Then, about a month later, my sis calls him. Metko actually answered and told my sis to text him our address and hung up. WE HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. He knows my sis and I are both unemployed and I am raising my 2 kids by myself. He knows $$ for us is hard to come by, yet he literally stole $40. He hadn't even made it home when we called to say dryer was still not working. He avoided us. He cashed the $40 check immediately so I have no recourse. It may not sound like much but when I am not working and trying to put 2 kids through college, it IS a lot. My dryer is still broken and Metko has my $40. A grown man taking full advantage of women. DO NOT get help from this refrigeration appliance center!!!. Look somewhere else... Few months back, I needed to have my Fridge fixed for it wasn't cooling anymore although there was power in the fridge. A guy named Metko came and recommended that the mother board was broken and needed to be replaced. This part was ordered and few days later, he came back with the new mother board. He installed the new mother board and BOOOM!!..my refrigerator got short circuit. He claimed that the fridge wirings had already a problem or short circuit. In other words, my fridge became even worst and now irreparable!!!. Still I ended up paying his service fee (without the part). To alleviate the damage, he offered to dispose the broken fridge thru a friend of his for FREE if I decided to dispose it. I didn't decide to have it disposed that day not until few weeks after when I called him back again that I was ready. He set a schedule for someone to supposedly pick up the fridge but no one showed up. I tried calling his number several times and nobody answered the call...NOW, needless to say, this would be the type of a technician you would be dealing if you would hire his service. read more
