We have several Door County favorite eateries but many were closed on a Tuesday in June so we decided to try a new place and ended up here. Shared outside seating at long picnic tables under umbrellas upstairs (plus I believe some indoor seating on the ground level). Views from the upper level were pleasant. We shared the bruschetta and it was served in a unique way - toasted bread with tomatoes, onion, and Parmesan cheese mounded in the middle. Very tasty, I had the salad with mixed greens, Bleu cheese, onions, cherries, and walnuts. Salad was good but not overly large (could have been just a bit larger for the price). Wish they had fresh ground pepper. They were out of hubby's first choice (white fish Po Boy) do he had the Neuske's BLT in a wrap which turned out to be an excellent second choice. It was a perfect day for the rooftop setup. View was beautiful, nature was a bit too close, (the flies and bees were very persistent) but it wasn't a big deal at all. The menu made me cautious, but I was pleasantly surprised. Don't be scared, just try it. Cheese curds were amazing and very good with the sauce!! Hubby and I went for the pulled pork sandwich and they were very good. Tender, not dry, very good flavor. I had kettle chips they were super good. Seasoning perfect. Hubs had the potato salad and enjoyed it. If you like pickles, order an extra because they were so good. Straight up fire. I was too full for dessert but will be back for drinks and dessert for sure. Found Mezzanine after a Peninsula Players show since they were one of the only restaurants we could find still serving food. Had whitefish cakes, whitefish chowder, and the charcuterie board. Generous portions and everything was excellent. Service was great too. read more

When my family and I walked in, we immediately noticed that the floor was sticky, the tables were not fully clean, and the bathrooms looked as they had not been cleaned in weeks. The server we had was pleasant, but did not seem very informed about the menu. The restaurant was out of a few dishes (we arrived at noon for the lunch menu), but the server did not inform us of that until after we had ordered. I requested 1 modification to my meal (no guacamole), and I asked for fries. Instead, when my meal arrived, I realized that I had guacamole on my meal, and I received the other side, watermelon, instead. Based on these observations and the cost of the meal, I would struggle to recommend this restaurant to a family member of friend. The quality of the food and the quality of the service really does not match the level of the other restaurants, given the location is an upscale, tourist spot. read more

Had lunch today at Mezzanine. I had the Whitefish Poor Boy sandwich with Whitefish Chowder. The sandwich was very good. The soup was very tasty. My friend had the Pulled Pork sandwich. We arrived around 8 on a warm Sunday. We were quickly greeted and seated on the rooftop. The staff is fantastic-very friendly. We ordered drinks and the smoked whitefish dip as an appetizer. The dip is a must-try! Very delicious. Hubs ordered a Reuben, I had the cremini mushroom pasta. The Reuben was very good-overflowing and melty. The pasta was absolutely amazing. This was a real gem find in Door County. Most of the places we went to were the typical pub fare or kid-friendly eateries. My wife and I came here in the evening and asked to be seated on the patio. We were warned it was warm, but the way it is designed with glass that acted as a heat trap and a canvas overhead with no fans, it was hot. I was fairly warned, but I also came here for the rooftop. I ordered a watermelon cucumber cocktail to share with my wife which was excellent. My dinner was the Atlantic salmon, and I cannot say I was overly impressed. The fish was overcooked, almost tough, and it was clearly previously frozen. I ate it, but it was the least edible salmon I have had for some time. The mushrooms and potatoes were nothing special. We were thrilled to find a place still serving dinner after 9 pm on a Tuesday night. We arrived at 9:45 and the kitchen closes at 10 so we hurried up and ordered. The cheese curds with cherry chutney were fantastic. We also enjoyed the Reuben pastrami and potato salad and the Michigan cherry salad. It was too dark to appreciate any sort of view. Service was friendly although a little inattentive (probably working on her side work). They do have blankets available if you're chilly on the rooftop. read more

3.5 - Nice rooftop space. The service was really great, the food OK, and the bathroom reeked and was desperate for a deep clean - and this was at opening. Whitefish Sandwich needed more lettuce or veggies and the bagel toasted, although the size was very generous, it was ultimately not the right proportion of whitefish salad to sandwich. The potato salad was really good - very mayo-y. Only children's meal on the menu was grilled cheese on great looking seed bread with a side of potato chips. Great salmon and agree with other reviewers about the cherry chutney. Fireworks in my mouth! Had a taste of my husband's lavender crème brûlée. Divine and creamy. Very light lavender flavor. Nice setting, excellent service, but the food was meh. Our whitefish spread appetizer was a very generous portion, but not very flavorful. The food was generally good. The server was very friendly and did his job well. I ordered a pasta dish that had salmon and shrimp in it. It tasted great., By one gripe is that the salmon was sparse and it only had 3 shrimp. The server said that it should have 5 or 6. He went back to the chef who apparently told him that the dish was fine as is. They offered to not charge me., but I insisted on paying for it despite the less than satisfactory amount of salmon and shrimp. For $30 for a pasta dish I would have expected more. read more

WI Three Cheese Mac was horrible. $16 for oily noodles with no cheese or taste. Reuben was tender and flavorful. Creamy clam chowder was good. Bruesetta was Excellent!! Cheese curds were ok. For starters our service was subpar at best, nobody seemed to be busy, yet nobody was around. Our cocktails were executed poorly, my salmon was partially raw, and although the $44 "steak tenderloin" had the color and texture of a pork tenderloin. We were told by many staff members that it was indeed the steak. To top it all off under the compound butter on the steak was a large strip of plastic wrap. read more

My husband and I went for a sunset dinner on the roof top and it was AMAZING!! I had the Yolanda drink and spicy BBQ pulled pork sandwich( I love spicy food and this wasn't spicy to me at all) maybe if you are sensitive to spicy it would be. But it still had Great flavor!! I also had there whiskey sour. It was good not my favorite though only because I make mine at home with maple syrup. My fault not theirs. My husband had an old fashion and burger and loved all of it! This place is an absolute disappointment to Door County! We were patiently waiting to be seated, finding all kinds of things to buy at the Chocolate Chicken for our drive home and picking out our dessert. We found the "letter to guests" where they rudely addressed their lack of consideration of families with children. Mind you I have an almost 7 year old (so I wasn't concerned about a mess of "snacks" they complained about). When asked about a kid's menu they said they will only serve entrees at entree prices aren't willing to accommodate anything except a grilled cheese and fruit. They would not even make her a bowl of pasta which they happen to serve as part of 2 entrees on the menu. The lack of accommodations, and the rude hostesses I can NOT recommend this restaurant. If they want to be ADULTS only they should state that more clearly. read more

Well if you want to be ignored by the staff - this is the place to come. No one particularly busy, but they were making like they were rather than tending to customers. I was seated and watch 3-4 tables after me get served while everyone walked by me. It was such a bad start it will be tough to redeem. This wasn't an understaffing issue - that I can appreciate- this was an I don't care issue. BTW no one cleaned the tables between the customers ick. Nope food was just as bad and cold for a hot meal.
