We had a great experience at MF Bar! We had an early reservation on Saturday night and got sat right away. All the servers were so nice and friendly and drinks were refilled right away without asking. The decor was very modern and clean. The food was also delicious! We started with the Edamame appetizer and a Peach Martini. The drinks here are made well and the bartenders actually know what they are doing!! We were impressed. I ordered the Dynamite Roll, Sweetheart Roll, and Snow Crab Tempura Roll. My favorite roll was the Snow Crab roll! I wish the rolls were a bit bigger but they were very tasty! Came in on a Sunday afternoon (sort of on a whim) with a couple of friends and my baby and we were greeted and seated right away! Service was spectacular, the restaurant was busy but somehow still nice and fairly quiet, and the sushi was phenomenal. I had been craving sushi like no other, and for my first sushi meal after an entire year of not having it, this spot definitely filled my sushi bucket and cured my craving (although now I just want to go back every weekend). I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. I really wanted to like it, but I just didn't. The sushi quality was extremely mid and overpriced for what it was. Style over substance would be the best way to describe it. A lot of cool presentation but not a lot of flavor. I hate to give any restaurant below a 3, but honestly I didn't even finish my rolls. The lychee martini was extremely dry and not at all lychee flavored. I'm really not a boujee person especially when it comes to sushi, so I was excited to try something more high end, but it wasn't up to par with what I've had in the past from much cheaper restaurants like circle sushi. There is a wide variety of nigiri and sushi rolls, with more high end fish as well. There are other dishes, but I have only tried the sushi which I have always enjoyed. I have been here several times and service has typically been on the slower side, but everyone has always been kind and helpful. I suggest making a reservation before coming here. Popped in while staying at Hotel Avalon for a work trip. After cruising the yelp photos of different rolls I went with the Avalon roll. While pricey for the size. But IT WAS AMAZING!!! There are other rolls that are at a lower price point but I kept reading it was a favorite so I splurged. I also had a ginger salad which was fantastic. I really liked the vibe and that it was small. I popped into MF Bar for lunch. Sat at the bar. Although the waiter was very nice he was frazzled due to the 6 tables he had going all at once. The other fellow helping him kept wiping his nose with his wrist, not a fan when people in service do that. I ordered several pieces of sushi , salmon, salmon belly , toro and a California hand roll. The salmon was very good, small but tasty. Toro was okay , a little chewy. I wanted it to be more buttery and melt in your mouth but alas no such luck. The California hand roll was gross. It smelled and wasn't as fresh as I was hoping. Kindly it was taken off my bill. For 3 nigiri , the check was $43 bucks. High for sure considering the product. The menu is great range of specialty sushi, some yaki tori, or miso soup. There are appetizers and rolls with a range of prices so try several and have a taste. The bar served great drinks but you pay drinking out prices. The interior is welcoming and well laid out with the bar seating in the center. I have had the chef choose which ones each time based on what's the most fresh that day and they always deliver. I also ordered the real wasabi and they come and grind the root in front of you. Delish. The baked lobster appetizer I personally think is just ok (too much mayo) but my aunt and uncle love it and order every time. Their open table reservations both times only showed availability at 5pm, but both times I went there was only 1 other table in there the whole time. So I'd call first to confirm if you want a later dining time. Service was just ok, which was odd both times since we were only 1 of 2 tables.
