I have been here once with my wife. A little out of the way for us, but we were going to be in the area so we planned dinner at MF Sushi. It was a rainy Sunday night so it was not particularly busy. However, we did have a reservation just in case. The staff was extremely friendly. Our server checked on us regularly, but not too often like some places when they are not busy. Upon the waitress's recommendation we started with the yellowtail appetizer. It is pretty much a knock off of Nobu's famous yellowtail. While it was not as good as the original, it was still extremely tasty so I would recommend it. The fish does melt in your mouth. Also, upon the waitress's recommendation, we got the Lobster Box Roll. Holy cow was it good. It was just a perfect mix of flavors and textures. For $25 it needs to be a good roll, and it delivered. We also shared some nigiri and it was fresh and delicious as well. If this were my part of town, I might make MF Sushi my go to sushi spot. Even though it is a little far for me, I am sure I will find a way to go back and get that Lobster Box again! read more

MF Sushi - Uni nigiri with a quail egg yolk - Japanese Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

Peaceful. That is how I would describe my experience at MF Sushi Atlanta. Upon walking into the restaurant, you are greeted with serenity. The restaurant, though smaller than expected, was designed with simplicity - delivering a calm atmosphere. An atmosphere that allowed my family and I to truly focus on the meal before us, and let me tell you, it was exquisite. The Food: Rather than individually ordering a few items, my family decided to order multiple dishes and simultaneously enjoy the freshness of each dish. Our meal consisted of the following 12 dishes (it was also very filling for our family of 4): Baked Scallops Absolutely delicious - the Japanese mayonnaise kept the dish from being dry while at the same time did not cause the dish to feel heavy. I believe this dish was topped with bread crumps - creating a nice crispy texture in juxtaposition of the tenderness of the scallop. Fresh yellowtail The yellowtail was my first taste of sashimi at MF and will not be my last. Topped with cilantro, Serrano peppers, and what I believe was ponzu sauce. The yellowtail would simply melt in my mouth and along with the ponzu sauce filled my taste buds with a delectable sweetness. The peppers and cilantro were just the perfect amount to give this dish more texture. Kampachi (I believe it was the MF Signature not appetizer) Clean and refreshing is how I would describe this dish. The Kampachi MF signature has got to be my favorite. The amberjack was sliced thinly - which provided the perfect amount to chewiness. When you first bite into a piece, your mouth is immediately welcomed with the sweetness of the fish. The sweetness is balanced out with the lime, and before it can even taste sour - the flavors are cut due to the Himalayan rock salt - creating a melody of taste on your tongue. This dish is truly an amazing creation. O-Toro MF signature At most sushi restaurants I avoid O-Toro (super fatty tuna) because of how greasy and dense the fish could be. To my surprise, the O-Toro MF signature was not oily at all, and I find that it is because of the quality of the fish and the truffle. The truffle soy added a unique flavor that seemed to cleanse your mouth from the fattiness of the fish. Sake MF signature Like the O-Toro, I typically do not favor salmon sashimi/nigiri because of the fatty nature of the fish. I did not think that the Salmon's fattiness was cut as much as the O-Toro's had been, but unlike most places - the salmon really melts in your mouth (I honestly don't remember chewing for this dish). I think the black pepper was supposed to serve the same purpose as the truffle soy did for the O-toro (it did somewhat). Ama-ebi Nigiri (Sweet prawn shrimp) The Ama-ebi was my most anticipated dish because it came with fried prawn heads. The nigiri part of the dish was so creamy. The prawn was creamy enough to almost be overwhelming, but the lime slices perfectly underwhelms the creaminess. The prawn heads were perfectly crispy and fresh and when dipped in the sauce served with it, there was no sense of fishiness. The Ama-ebi truly met all expectations. Uni This was my first time trying uni, and it was strongly recommended by one of my friends. Perhaps it doesn't meet well with my taste preferences, as I did find it to be too fishy. Maguro I did not really have any expectations for the Maguro since it is commonly sold, and I doubted it could really vary from other places. However, the texture of the Maguro truly made a statement. MF sushi has the highest quality sushi I have had in Atlanta. The Maguro did not have as many tendons (?) - which allowed for a really nice chewy but tender bite. Soft shell crab roll Crispy. Crunchy. Clean. MF truly has an ability to perfectly harmonize taste and texture - making sure nothing is overpowering the other. This roll seemed to be heavy (after all it is fried soft shell crab) but in actuality was a very light, but filling roll. Spicy Tuna Osaka Box Style Roll, Toro Osaka Box Style roll, and Lobster Box. Box style roll is where the sushi is made in layers pressed in a box. We tried all three. All three were delicious - I enjoyed the lobster box the most (it was crispy and warm - making a nice compliment to the sushi rice). The toro Osaka box was my least favorite as the toro had been grounded up (you couldn't really enjoy the sashimi that way). My favorite part of these rolls though had to be the rice - cooked to perfection; you could taste each individual grain (not too sticky, not too coarse). In all honestly I would order these again just for the rice! Overall, MF sushi was a pleasurable experience. The service was paced perfectly so that you would have time between each dish and the atmosphere really amped the entire experience. MF sushi Atlanta is definitely worth every penny. read more

I wouldn't say that I am a sushi connoisseur, however I have tried sushi at different price ranges and this was the best one yet! The ingredients are top quality and you can easily tell. I had the shrimp and eel roll; it was phenomenal to say the least. Not only did I order another one but after letting my roommate taste, she decided she had to splurge that night and got herself one too! The night was great until I realized I had left my retainers their in an inconspicuous napkin. Long story short, they found them and stayed open well after closing so that I could retrieve them. I have been to very expensive sushi places in Japan as well as DC (where I currently live), and I leave those places feeling like the dining experience was definitely worth every penny. I didn't feel the same way leaving this place; more than half of what you pay probably goes to "ambiance" here... It certainly feel the experience was worth only half of the cost. I was in Atlanta for only three days for business, found this place on Yelp and I liked what I saw so decided to check it out rather late in the evening. Parking ramp is in the back of the restaurant. The first door around the corner is their main entrance. Walking in, definitely gave you the feel that it was going to be one of those places with a personal chef & personal server dedicated just to you. That feeling went away shortly after when a young female came in; not sure if she was in high school or college, but the loud conversation between her and the sushi chefs gave me the feeling like she is the daughter of the owner, talking about her classes. Well, there goes the expensive "feel" to this "ambiance", so at this point you are just eating at a regular sushi joint but pay 3x as much. She continued to chat loudly with one of her girlfriends by the entrance for the rest of my time there. Also, not sure how one of the Yelp photos show a plate of 8 sashimi pieces of 4 fish selections (2x each) because their sashimi menu is priced for 4 pieces per type of fish. And, their sashimi cuts are thin, look half as thick as shown in this photo that I copied from a previous Yelp guest here. My two-cent is price what you want, but the sashimi cuts have to be thick, not flabby like a Nigiri cut served without rice. I did like one of their rolls: the Salmon Skin Roll, topped with eels & avocado. I typically love salmon skin roll as well as dragon roll at other places... and the Salmon Skin Roll here is very nice combination of both crunchy salmon skin topped with eels & avocado much like a dragon roll. Very tasty!! My waitress was very courteous. However, after I paid & tipped 25% (not that they saw it yet in the check), I left the restaurant with not a single person saying thank you or goodbye... Not the sushi chefs (they saw me leaving), not my waitress (she was busy talking to another server so I don't blame her... but the sense of awareness from a staff at an expensive restaurant would never let a server miss a guest coming or leaving), and that chatty daughter with her friend didn't even bother moving away from the entrance so I could leave. I am not from Atlanta, but even if I am back in the area I won't return to this place. Over priced for not a very worthy dining experience! read more

Ate here tonight for the first time! Walked in around 9:45PM on a Saturday night and they accommodated us immediately. Our server Sarah was wonderful! Always checked in on us just at the right time. She never left us waiting too long and never came by too much. A server's timing is so important to me in my dining experience. The food was SO YUMMY! We ordered a bottle of Shirakawago Sasanigori, shiitake mushroom miso, assorted sunomono and signature nigiri. The otoro was magnificent!! It melted in my mouth and the accompaniments were just perfect! The sake was creamy, fatty, buttery and once again perfectly accompanied by the toppings. I also ordered the live hotate and it was incredibly fresh. The hamachi came out aburi style which surprised me since I always prefer my nigiri and sashimi raw but nonetheless delicious. I absolutely loved Sarah as she was very hospitable and sweet and the cuisine. Will definitely be back to visit Sarah and devour more incredible food! read more

Absolutely Delicious!!! You must go here. Best sushi I have had so far. I'll tell you why. Normally when I have sushi (nigiri), it's just the fish and plain rice, but their sushi is well seasoned so you don't have to use soy sauce with wasabi to get extra flavor. It brings out a new dimension in your fish (nigiri). The rice was well portioned to the size of the fish. I hate to go to these places where there is so much rice you can barely taste the seafood. We had the chef choice or lunch special. Also, we had soft crab shell rolls, delicious as well. The place is cute, and trendy. We went Sunday at 2pm and they close at 2:30pm and reopen at 5pm, so it was nice and quiet. Serve was warm and welcoming. The vibe was elegant but trendy. Cool place, really cool. Having just been transplanted here from NYC and also just having spent a month in Japan eating my way around the country, I am so happy to have found this gem! The front of house staff were welcoming and seated us immediately. I was pleasantly surprised by the setup with modern yet warm ambiance of the space. We sat at the bar and the server was very attentive and friendly. Now the food: we started with the crab miso soup which was the perfect balance of comfort and luxury! The chunks of snow crab were impressive. The tuna ball appetizer with avocado and TRUFFLE mouse topped with caviar was one of the best highlights! I normally have a splurge dining moment once every two months or so and I guess I had to fulfill that itch because I went all in and ordered the omakase last night. I must say, this was one of the MOST PERFECTLY PACED multi-course meal I've ever had. Side note: Hitachino beers are cheaper here than at most craft beer bars around town. They're $8 per serving and they also carry the red ale with the white ale. We got there around 7:30pm or so and it was not too busy for a Friday. We were seated promptly at the sushi bar and offered hot towels. We got around to ordering fairly quickly and the chef asked us if there was anything we don't like or have to avoid. The mister had some serious health issues lately and so he didn't want any fried things or spicy things lest it upset his stomach (he just had a big bout of stomach stuff happen last week). I am not a big mackerel fan unless it's steeped in salt and made into a mackerel prosciutto (a real thing at another well-known sushi/sashimi establishment around town) or just grilled. The course consisted of 11 dishes (it was more than worth the money) and we were served the following: Mozuku or Okinawan Seaweed in cold broth with quail yolk - In my ravenous hunger, I forgot to take a photo before popping my yolk open to mix it together. The seaweed threads reminded me of buckwheat noodles and it was pretty fun eating it. Very slimy though and I was grateful for a small portion. I really would've liked a crunchy aspect as it was really hard to eat due to the texture. Taste was 10/10 though. Kampachi (yellowtail in ponzu sauce with serrano peppers on top) - This dish is always one of my top faves. I would have to say this was the best kampachi I've had in a very long time. Yellowtail was buttery and slightly firm and the ponzu sauce had an even balance of yuzu to lighten the flavor. Tuna tataki - Instead of pan fried garlic, we got I believe pea shoots (maybe? someone correct me if they see a different green on top of my photos), no sriracha and instead, some black pepper. Honestly, I'd eat this version over the one advertised in the menu. I'm not a huge fan of maguro but it had an almost butter like texture that was well complemented with the greens, pepper, and light touch of ponzu. Jellyfish something? - I couldn't hear chef very well and I think I heard jellyfish. I wasn't entirely sold that this was jellyfish as I've had a lot of jellyfish in my life and it's more of a soft but a rubbery crunch rather than this crisp crunch that you get. It was nonetheless very good. Truffle aioli fresh salmon - So, their salmon quality was off the chain last night. This was easily the best sashimi quality salmon I've had in a VERY LONG TIME. It was buttery and it almost felt like foie gras in my mouth. It had a very luxurious mouth feel and taste was out of the world. Small sashimi platter - We received chu-toro, sea bream, red snapper, salmon (yaaaaas), and some fresh sea scallops. I was surprised that red snapper was my favorite over the chu-toro as I'm a toro killer. The red snapper was served with a dollop of sriracha and fresh scallions. Small nigiri platter #1 - We were instructed to eat from left to right. I believe it was sea bream with freshly grated wasabi with some soy sauce, otoro with a jalapeno on top, and a lime zest and juice poured yellowtail. It was just absolutely perfect. Otoro melts like butter in your mouth and it absolutely my favorite cut of tuna (I mean... it is king fatty tuna after all). Small nigiri platter #2 - All nigiri were torched (and this is like a big thing now in Korea and my friends have been raving about "fire nigiri sushi") and it went from amaebi or sweet shrimp with a fried shrimp head, torched yellowtail with lemon slice, and torched wagyu beef with scallions. Mister raved about the yellowtail. I normally HATE any raw shrimp but due to the light torching and the sweetness it was really good. We also normally don't eat shrimp heads but man, I think I'll start as it was very umami and buttery. Wagyu, need I say more? Rare steak on top of perfect sushi rice. Chilean seabass with oshinko (soy sauce pickles) - a little overdone for my taste but excellent nonetheless. Very large piece of fish as well (about the size of my hand and due to my very long fingers, my hand is fairly long). Duck breat with miso yaki - unnnnnngh, most perfect duck I've had in a while. Medium rare with just a bit of umami from the miso and just a bit of perfect salt. It sat on top of a stone heater that kept the duck at a perfect temperature throughout. Mochi ice cream - I felt like this is where the meal could've really shone with a yuzu sorbet instead of mochi ice cream. Felt like a clean palette cleanser would've been better than something that was this heavy. All in all, fantastic experience and I'm glad it's a hop and a skip away from our place. read more

3.5 stars. MF Sushi is pretty great! Upscale and located in the up-and-coming but established but up-and-coming again Inman Park, this sushi place is across the street from Inman Perk. The bartenders are pretty friendly and easy to talk to. Sitting at the bar, we ordered some appetizers, a drink, and some sushi rolls. Everything that we got from the seaweed salad and baked scallops to the crunchy roll, spicy tuna roll, and shrimp tempura roll were awesome! The quality was great. The only thing was they were pricey for what you get. The quality was good, but I didn't enjoy it for almost $20 a roll. The "princess" drink was pretty great too, but still overpriced to me. I guess if you're in the mood for upscale sushi in the Inman Perk area, this is your best bet. read more

First thing I wanna say is this place is overpriced. Yes I understand the location, blah blah blah. But no. The quality of fish is good enough for the sashimi or nigiri pricing, but DEFINITELY not for the rolls. Their fish quality isn't as Good as Sakura (lower roswell) or Umi (buckhead). To be honest, when I came here, what I expected was a great variety of choices. Not just nigiri, sashimi and MAYBE 12 rolls. They are charging 18 dollars for a roll that has shrimp.... and maybe some tempura crunch. Yeah.... no. If I'm not eating any fish in there, you better not charge me 18 for 4 pieces of boiled shrimp. Lol. And yes I'm a very experienced sushi eater. If you go to Sakura in lower roswell, they have the highest fish quality, an amazingly big sushi roll menu with amazingly normal price. It's probably the best sushi restaurant I've ever eaten in. SERVICE : flawless. ATMOSPHERE : flawless. FOOD: 3 star because of pricing and lack of choices. It took me about 15 mins trying to decide what to eat simply because there isn't much choice... not because of pricing. I don't care paying 20 bucks for a roll, only if it is worth that much. I just came back from MF's VIP grand opening and even though it's one in the morning, I can't stop thinking about what an amazing culinary experience I had. I never realized how incredibly important texture was to food until I had Chef Chris Kinjo's sushi. I've never had rice crumble so easily and taste so delicious and I've never had fish effortlessly melt in my mouth. Each roll was delicately crafted and beautifully plated. I'm not sure what the regular menu might have but here are the items that definitely stood out tonight: -The Spicy Salmon Sashimi -(What I think was) The Spicy Tuna Tartar -The Eel Roll -The Seared Tuna Tataki -The Soft Shell Crab (although it could be a little more salty) I tried many, many other things, but I can't recall their names. I can say that I was surprised and delighted at every different bite I had. Each dish's flavor profile was exquisite. I tasted flavors brought out of fish I never thought possible - some bites were citrusy, others were sweet, and some had a savory, spicy kick. What's more was that the service and bar were on point. From what I hear, Chef Chris and and Manager Alex have retained much of the talent from MF Buckhead. This power duo and their team bring quality, experience and craftsmanship that no other sushi bar in Atlanta can rival. I cannot wait to return. read more

This place is Phenomenal! I travel every month to the biggest cities in America and I love sushi. I would rate MF sushi as a top 3 spot in the US after my visit this evening. I started with 1 of every "Signature Nigiri" sample and let me tell you, the Truffle Soy Sauce will blow you away! I am a HUGE fan of Uni and ordered 5 orders alone, this was some of the freshest, sweetest, and pure Uni that I've ever tasted. I also ordered the Otoro, Amaebi (sweet shrimp with heads), and the King Salmon....all of them were OUTSTANDING! Finally I finished with the A5 Wagyu Beef Nigiri. Wagyu is such a Novelty in America that unless you pay $25-$30 an ounce, you are getting American crap disguised as Wagyu. This place truly gets A5 (look at the picture and the marbling). They take their fat seriously here (look at both marbling of the Otoro and the Wagyu), totally legit! My experience at MF sushi was phenomenal. We started with the fatty tuna, wagyu beef, and grilled eel nigiri, each which melted almost instantly in my mouth. The tuna was as the name suggests fatty, the beef had a nice blowtorch sear, and the grilled eel nigiri was so good it prompted us to order another round. Next, we had the eel specialty roll which had a nice combination of avocado, smoked salmon, and eel. The only downside to the roll was that it was a little bit too salty. Also, the traditional tuna roll was simple yet delicious and fresh. Finally, the chefs gave us fried flounder on the house. Not only was it free, but it was also lightly fried while being really fresh. We finished our meal with mochi ice cream. The green tea was refreshing, the mango tasted very much like a mango, and the strawberry was creamy and lavender-like. Overall, service was great and the atmosphere was simple, modern, and cool. So I went here on a Tuesday night for my birthday. It wasn't crowded at all. Maybe 3 tables were in there when I arrived at 7PM. The waitress came around and recommended hot sake. I was like sure, let me get this one. She brings out cold sake. I ordered a small sized one for me and my girlfriend. Found out they later charged me $28. I asked about it and she said it only came in one size. But there's two size on the menu. WTF? Geez. Sushi is ok, nothing like Umi that wows your palette. I honestly think it's over priced. I spent $50 more at MF than at Umi and my experience there was much better. The uni that I received wasn't even fresh. The color is a dark brown/orange and the taste wasn't fresh that melts in your mouth. The waiter that brought the sushi out even gave me directions on how to dip into the soy sauce. Hello, I'm asian, I've been eating sushi about 18 years ago. What kinda asian he think we are? BLACKENESE??? lol. The best item I enjoyed here was the kobe beef nigiri. (But FYI, kobe beef doesn't exist in United States, just a marketing term they use for us to pay more for the fancy beef. What an experience... I recommend all first timers to get the Omakase. I had a reservation on a Tuesday and I was seated right away. Our waitress was so attentive and helpful she was awesome. This is what came in my Omakase from what i remembered... There was so much food. Some of the food I wanted to order actually came with the Omakase. Seaweed soup? - came with a quail egg, mix it around and slurp it up. The slimy textures was a little different to me and I couldn't finish it. My BF couldn't finish it either. Yellowtail-delicious appetizer Jellyfish- I loved the crunchy texture of it. Sashimi plate- (starting to get full) big fatty pieces. I am not a big fan of sashimi so at this point was thinking maybe we shouldn't have gotten omakase.I ate some of it but couldn't hold down the rest so I stopped and moved on to the next. Shrimp bites- the chef recommended to hold the head and bite off the body but the shrimp was so yummy and crispy I just popped the whole thing in my mouth, head and all. Nigiri plate- just a few of the basic nigiri , sake, otoro and one more I forgot the name. Another nigiri plate that held the specialties Like the a5 wagyu, ebi, and Hamachi Sea bass- buttery and flaky, soo good. Duck- the duck pieces were a little too fatty for me but I just took of the fat part and ate. The duck was pretty good but it was kind of chewy. Mochi ice cream - I don't believe they were going to give this to us, but we asked and they brought it out. They gave us green tea and mango. Green tea was the best! I seriously at this point wanted to fall over and get wheel chaired out. Oh yeah and the music they played is the kind of music I actually listen to so I was jamming while I was eating lol. Honestly- 2 stars for our waiteress, she was so sweet. However that was just it...the manager was just so cold and stand offish. The sushi was small and just not exciting. I was initally excited when MF came back around but I rather go and spend my money at Umi, everyone there is not friendly, even management. read more

Took my girl here to eat for her birthday, she picked a good place. Very hidden & lowkey but inside was beautiful, the simple interior design was clean. The sushi was absolutely amazing, some of the best sushi I've ever had. However considering it wasn't that busy of a night, our server was a little slow. Would still recommend this place for sushi. read more

This is in my top-3 restaurants of all time. The ambience is absolutely stunning. The staff always provides great service. More than anything, the manager(owner perhaps?) (stylish fella) always checks on us and remembers his customers. The food is at another level-- the most savory sushi I've had in ATL. The appetizers are delicacies as well. I've had the calamari and scallops multiple times here and I always go back for them. My vegan girlfriend even tried them as they were that good. This restaurants is 6/5 and you SHOULD check it out. Another pro is that it's in a great area if you want to go to another bar or cigar club nearby. Look forward to more experiences here as I get older. -DC. read more

This is...so far, the best sushi that I've had in Atlanta, and I'm comparing it to Michelin-star (albeit 1-star) sushi bars in New York City. While I normally do not write much about the decor, I found MF Sushi to be very earthy, simple, and right up my alley of how I would want to eat my decadent and delicious sushi. They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu, but I chose lunch because it was a smaller menu, and I wanted natural lighting for photos. I also knew what I was going to order which was essentially sushi and nigiri, and this made the lunch menu perfect for me. I ordered and inhaled the following: -tako sunomono: octopus vinagrette salad -sushi sashimi set A: five pieces of nigiri sushi and 6 pieces of sashimi, two fish types - chef's choice. -uni nigiri: the waitress told me that the uni was flown in from Japan that day and so it had to be ordered. -chu-toro nigiri: medium grade fatty-tuna, also flown in from Japan and ordered Miso soup and a side salad with ginger dressing was served as well, complimentary from the house. --------- Tako Sunomono PROS -great flavor and balance of the mirin and the rice vinegar -tako (octopus) was not overcooked, tender and not rubbery -served with equal or slightly less amount of thin sliced cucumbers and a little bit of wakame, giving a nice variety of texture. CONS -the amount of sunomono for what you are paying for is bitter tasting. They better have wrestled the octopus with bare hands for this dish. --------- Sushi Sashimi Set A PROS -melt in your mouth fish: this is top-grade sushi. To get fish this soft that falls apart in your mouth as you chew is hard to find. Most of the time, you have to really give the fish a good chew. This place has it down. -sushi rice was cooked to perfection: not overly sticky, not undercooked -good amount of wasabi underneath each piece of nigiri: I can't stand the "generous" portions of wasabi that certain places use because it overwhelms the flavor of the fish and throws off the balance between fish and sushi rice. -balanced portion of fish to rice ratio CONS -NONE --------- Uni (sea urchin): I'm comparing this to the uni from Sushi Yasuda which was so creamy and fresh that it literally dissolved in my mouth. While this did NOT dissolve in my mouth, it did do a very slow melt with some chewing required (also because there is sushi rice involved). Thank you Japan for letting us fly it in! PROS -the most melt-in-your-mouth you can find in ATL (to date for me) -no fermented fish flavor: most important part to me -great portion of uni, definitely not stingy with the seafood today! -probably the second best uni nigiri that I've had in the USA, but I've yet to order it out west so this will be put to the test in April when I go out to the Bay! CONS - super expensive for two pieces of nigiri...if it's hard for you to throw down that much anyway. Think mid-to-high-teens. -------- Chu-toro nigiri: This was again, also flown in from Japan, and I ordered it only because they did not have O-Toro, the fattiest grade of tuna possible. (I'm probably going to die from mercury poisoning if anything but hopefully it won't be painful and there will be a cure or at least a way to purge it safely from my body). PROS - melt-in-your-mouth fresh: I did not get this at Sushi Yasuda, but I did get O-Toro there, therefore I cannot compare because the levels of fattiness really distinguish these two cuts of fish from each other. - sushi rice perfection, again. - good balance of rice to fish - also minimal wasabi paste, thank goodness! CONS -be prepared to throw down your credit card blindly at the end of the meal and just cry when you get your monthly statement. For a sushi lover though, it's totally worth it. It's fatty tuna! -------- This place was so good it's made my top restaurants list to celebrate my birthday dinner which is ridiculously hard to do. But it's made it and I hope it lasts that long until April when I get to rank it immediately after sushi in SF! read more

What is the definition of value? The definition of value is getting as much for the price you paid. While there is no doubt that the food is delicious, services is exceptional, and the atmosphere is fantastic, for what I paid ($270 for dinner for two), that was just a little too expensive. This place is FIVE STARS! Great service, beautiful restaurant and the food is AMAZING! You must must get the SIGNATURE HAMACHI! The salmon with truffle and caviar is heaven! Prior to flying into Atlanta for the weekend, I asked a few Yelp friends for a recommendation on their city's top tier sushi spots. Without exception, MF Sushi Atlanta stood tall on everyone's elite list along with Umi and O-ku. My son, a devoted sushi aficionado now living in Atlanta, confirmed that MF was for real and was right there with Umi as the best in the city. Located in the heart of the trendy Inman Park neighborhood, our party of five walked into this upscale restaurant for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and was quickly seated in the well appointed and immaculate dining room. We sampled some of the best sushi I'd ever had including the Tuna, Mackerel, Salmon and Squid Nigiri and outstanding Spicy Yellow Tail and Lobster Box Rolls. The highlights, however, came last with the unique Uni (Sea Urchin) and the 24-piece Tuna Nigiri Progression (from Maguro to Churoro to Toro to the super fatty Otoro)...the best and most expensive piece of fish I'd ever eaten. We finished with the delicious A5 Wagyu Beef Nigiri. Wow...what a memorable experience. MF proudly stands atop of the sushi pyramid in the ATL. read more
