Good yummy spot. We had carne guisada, pernil, pollo guisado, soup, white rice and red beans. Everything was overall good. The pernil could use some more flavor. It was a little bland... the potato from the carne guisada was sooooo good! We also tried coconut flan and that was THE best part of our dinner. It melts in your mouth!! I was recommended by my friend to come to this place and I was not disappointed! I ordered the Trifongo with beef and onions, shrimp appetizer along with 2 quesitos (one cheese one with guava/cheese) amazing all of it. I don't have a picture because it's all gone. The Trifongo has these pork crunchy bits mixed in the the monfongo and the broth is sooo tasty. The shrimp was in the house red sauce served with tostones awith a garlic sauce on the side for dipping. The quesitos I had with coffee were lightly crispy sugary outside with a creamy moist middle. I would have gave them 5 Stars, but it is a bit pricey, however they have outstanding fresh food!! It's the only place I know that makes Mofongo de Pana, and man is it good!! Totally messed me up, now I don't want any other mofongo, just the one they make. They are not stingy with their portions. The chicharrones de pollo are the best. Fried and seasoned to crispy perfection. The soup that comes with the meal is simply delicious. The home made hot sauce has a great flavor, beware it can sneak up on you. Oh. My. God. So, I 've never had a Mofongo before and was in the mood to try something I've never had while shopping for a new house in St. Cloud, so I thought I would give it ago. It was amazing! But not fist that- the black beans were made from scratch- not canned. The chicken broth - its the real deal, scratch made from the chicken, and not the can. My wife had the empanadas - which huge compared to the ones we get in California, by the way- and holy smokes were they good! The pastry was light and flakey- you could tell the were correctly made with cold butter and hand rolled - the beef and cheese filling was absolutely to die for! And I would be remiss to not mention Abuella. She was incredible- welcoming, funny, makes a killer ice tea (go order the house ice tea- it's like a drop of the tropics in a glass), and really made great restraunt food into a truly sensational homemade meal! I had been wanting to try this place for awhile and I'm so glad I did! I went for lunch today with my mom and son and it was so delicious. I'm pretty much obsessed with Cuban food so I was excited to try something new. I ordered their lunch special which included meat, beans, rice and maduros (sp?). I think the price was $5.50? You can't beat that! The pork was so succulent and flavorful and the beans and rice were delicious as well. I'm not a fan of maduros but I love tostones so we got an order of those on the side. They were served with a garlicky/acidic sauce (not sure if it was lime/lemon/vinegar). They were hot, crispy and tasty. My mom is a Cuban sandwich freak so she ordered that. She told me (and the people working the front) it was the best Cuban sandwich she's ever eaten. They also have an impressive pastry case, I'm not a sweets person though so I didn't try any.
