This is a steak fajita bowl. It was so big, my wife and I ended up sharing it. It was also excellent

Food was Delicious! Is it authentic Mexican? I don't know, I'm Italian. I do know my wife wanted to go to this restaurant for her birthday. A new restaurant for us. We have been back 3 times since! Although not hard to find, it is on a side road. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We saw one review that stated the staff just stood around and spoke to each other. What I saw was one young lady whi spoke English very well, explaining the menu and the workings of the restaurant to a new wait staff member, who didn't speak English as well. Very safe friendly place Food was excellent Prices are about average, specials are available. Although the parking lot and dinning room are wheel chair accessible. I did find the step down to the men's room a little steep, with a walking stick. Might need assistance if in a wheelchair. My wife and I highly recommend this restaurant!!

So you may be thrown off by what used to be a motel surrounding this restaurant , but give it a chance. The kitchen / bar and part of the dining room are in what what's the motel office. The rest of the dining room appears to be one of the former hotel rooms. Service was welcoming and fast. Very clean restaurant. Drinks were excellent, namely the mango margaritas. I had a dish of pork chop, rice, beans and fried yucca. Pork chops were thin, well grilled and seasoned with enough salt; rice good; beans amazing - savory with good seasonings, perhaps some pork fat, hard to tell. Fried yucca was tasty, needed a touch more seasoning. All in all this was a great experience. Authentic Latin dishes, great service, excellent drinks, close to places like Great Wolf and Kalahari. Give it a try.

This is a small tucked away restaurant. It's clean and has a relaxing home feel to it. The service is phenomenal with each staff ready and waiting to serve with a smile. I would give the service 5 s. Tortilla chips were provided as we awaited our meal. They were fresh and the two sauces (spicy and mild) were flavorful. 5 s Appetizer Fried green plantains with chicharron (fried pork belly) the plantains were fried to perfection, crisp and non greasy 5 stars. The chicharron was seasoned really well however the portion was very small. There were tiny bits of pork (barely any meat) added to the plantains. Increasing the size instead of bits of chicharron would have made this dish much better. For the portion size I would rate this a 3 stars Main dishes Pork chop with yellow rice and beans. The beans were hearty, plentiful and seasoned well. The rice was fine The pork chop was very small, dry and salty. 1 star The beef on the taco was dry and overcooked. It had very little flavor to it. Served with chunks of onions and cilantro but failed to offer the delectable taste of a true taco. It would have been nice to offer salsa or birria taco sauce as an accompaniment. This would have helped the taste of the meat (not the dryness though) 1 star The Tortilla on which the taco was served on was warm and soft. 5 star All in all with some tweaking this place could definitely be a five star place it has alot of potential.

Stopped by on our way leaving the Poconos and LOVED our food! I even tried a dish I would usually not order and it was a 10/10.

This was our go to when craving latin food. It has been a little over a year since I've been here. It was nice to see a small bakery added with Pan de Bono. Yum!! The service was great as usual. I had Mi Casa Bandeja. The chicharron was not the greatest. The meaty part was fine but I was missing the crunch. The music they played was awesome tho!

Always good to be back home and hit up this little authentic spot. It's always been good and that has not changed. Super friendly staff and tucked away In the back off a main road so it's chill. Great place for drinks and good eats. Prices went up!

We almost missed the small entrance among some apartment buildings. My wife and I had fantastic mango and passionfruit margaritas to start. The attentive host brought out hot chips and delicious salsa while the server/ bartender brought over beverages. The establishment was well lit, with festive folk artwork and upbeat Spanish music playing in the background. We split the fajitas, which were amazing. Very close to Kalahari!

Some of the best Latin food I've had in a long time! It's all super fresh and delicious and a must try if you're in the area. The staff were very attentive and kind and made the whole experience lovely. The ambiance is nothing crazy but it's clean and the food makes it all worth it. Please give this place a try! It's hard to find good Latin food so I'd travel far and wide for a place like this!

Great authentic Latin food, especially for this area where you don't tend to see a lot of it. Prices are a bit much in my opinion, but it's very good regardless and some food is worth it every now and then. The service was quick and the employees were very attentive and kind. The one waitress had a kid no more than five years old with her who delivered us a bowl of salsa. It was adorable. I recommended it here.

Great restaurant with great service. The food was really good and big portions. I have never seen such a big burrito. My husband couldn't finish it. We had enchiladas with green and red sauce and they were both really good. My husband and kid are vegetarians and they were able to make a vegetarian version of the burrito and enchiladas. The service was friendly and quick. We went for lunch and the location didn't seem bad as everyone is saying. It's just next to a motel. You also get free chips and salsa.

I tried this spot while out of town for work and it didn't disappoint. When I arrived I parked in the lot. It is connected to an apartment area fyi and doesn't look like much from the outside. At first I was skeptical but gave it a try. I was greeted when I walked in by Andres, the owner. He was supper nice and so was the server Rachel. The place was cute and cozy. There is no bar seating so sat at a table in the back. I started with a sangria which looked like just regular red wine when it came out but was good to taste. The drinks are super cheap here. For my entrée I got the garlic shrimp and boy was it good. It was seasoned to perfection. I ate every bit. The bill was super affordable also. I truly enjoyed!

Well once again haven't been to this place in a while, I live in NY and I drive all the way up here just for the food. And I tell you it's great food I do recommend it atmosphere is great and the service is awesome. So if you're in the area come thru.

The food was fast to come out. One draw back, our table was near the speakers and the music, albeit fun and festive, was pretty loud. Made conversation more difficult. We would go back!

I ordered a Mango Mohito - it was delicious. We also ordered a Guacamole for the table. A woman came out with the avocado's and all the ingredients and made fresh Guac to order for us. That was outstanding. The ubiquitous chips and soupy salsa on the table was just OK - though we did snack on it endlessly. Still, it didn't have texture, tang nor taste really. Just a somewhat soupy sauce. I ordered the taco salad with chicken and my husband had dual burritos with refried beans and rice. They were good entrees. They filled us up. The portions were generous. Were they the best Mexican food we've ever had? Not really, but it was good food and we enjoyed our meals. We'd go back to El Rey Azteca again if we found ourselves in Wilkes Barre. You will enjoy a meal there. (PS Another customer the evening we were there was raving about their Cuban sandwiches - we didn't try those. You might if you stop in there.)

The service was friendly, attentive, and informative. The staff made excellent menu recommendations and ensured everything went smoothly throughout the meal. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas, which were excellent. I typically do not eat refried beans, but they were so well prepared that I finished the entire serving. Overall, it was a very positive dining experience. Second Visit: (0/5 Stars) Unfortunately, my second visit was the complete opposite. I dined with a group, and while our waitress greeted us promptly with menus and water and took our orders in a timely manner, not all of the orders were entered into the system. Some appetizers arrived within a reasonable amount of time, but our group waited over an hour for our entrées. During that time, several parties who arrived after us were served, finished their meals, and left while we were still waiting for our food. After the extended delay, I spoke with multiple staff members, including the restaurant manager and a resort manager, to inquire about the status of our meals and to express our concerns about the excessive wait. When the food finally arrived, we discovered that one of my entrées had never been entered into the system. As a result, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes for that meal to be prepared and served. I also attempted to speak with the restaurant manager, Jessica, regarding the situation. Unfortunately, while I was explaining my concerns, she walked away before the conversation was finished. I called after her in an attempt to continue the discussion, but she continued walking without acknowledging me. I found this interaction disappointing and unprofessional. The restaurant ultimately apologized to our group and generously comped our meals, which was appreciated. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by the excessive wait times, communication breakdowns, and the lack of professionalism in addressing customer concerns. Based on this experience, I believe there is significant room for improvement in communication and coordination among the kitchen staff, servers, and management. Better operational processes and stronger customer service practices would go a long way toward preventing situations like this in the future.
