The ambiance is very pleasant and with a friendly staff. The space is limited and it was surprisingly busy for a Monday! There are plenty of local attractions and people kept coming and some didn't mind waiting. Some stopped to pickup takeout. The food came out fairly quickly for us. Very basic restaurant, unassuming next to a motel, good friendly service, but small, maybe 8 tables total. Very reasonably priced dinner dinner for 4 with 3 drinks about $100 including tip. Had 2 appetizers- the guacamole and shrimp. Both fresh and tasty and chips were star of the show! Chicken and steak burritos are huge. Served room temperature and cheese could have been melted a little more, but my kids enjoyed it. Chimichanga portion more reasonable, served with rice and beans. We came here after seeing a strong Yelp review and it most definitely lived up to our expectations - really exceeded it. Don't be afraid when you pull of the main drag and have to turn into what could be mistaken for a dry cleaner or motel. What they save in rent, they put into quality food. We stumbled upon "tequila Tuesday" which made our margaritas $5 each! They're large but a bit too sweet for our preference. The guacamole was fresh and a generous portion. The Nachos with cheese dip was extraordinary and not a velveeta microwave pack. Tacos were priced individually and a healthy portion (we had chicken without anything but cheese for the kids). At first glance this restaurant places you in a questionable situation, only from the exterior of the building. The restaurant is part of an old motel and even though the exterior is not inviting one must remember that the best cooks are usually the ones from less expensive environments. Upon walking into the restaurant your taken back to a Latin ambiance of deep culture with music in the air and paintings hung all around. The employees greet you in Latin language so if you do like I did and try to speak Californian Spanish you will still be alright. I was excited to see plantains on the menu however I will have to go back to try them. I went with one of the lunch specials, a chicken wrap with fries. Oh the wrap is filled with bell peppers and seasoned as if you were eating right in Latin America, wrapped with a skillet fried thin tortilla, amazing and filling. Definitely will be returning to try the evening experience because they have a small bar and it appears that they may have Latin dancing, not sure however there is a disco ball that hangs from the ceiling. read more

The reviews looked great and we're always up for Mexican, so we decided to give the place a try. I'll be honest - the place looked a little sketch when we drove up. It was attached to a motel that looked like it was run down 20 years ago. We walked in to a very small seating area with a clean, but worn down, look to it. I'm glad we decided to risk it though because it was the best Mexican we've had in years. Everything was freshly made with loads of flavor and the service was quick and friendly. There are not many highly rated restaurants on Yelp in Mount Pocono, so thank you Yelpers for helping me find this hidden gem! It's easy to find, just one block east of 611 next to Mount Pocono Motel. As others stated, the owners are from South America, so the food is similar to Mexican, but with additional fun entrees and sides. It's authentic and made fresh, so the flavors are vibrant. They have 7-8 booths along one wall, a few tables in the middle of the restaurant, and a small bar on the other side (seats 4-6 people). Pros - Patron Silver margaritas on the rocks were good-size, strong, and $9. That's a great price!! We specifically asked for this tequila versus the house ritas. - Guacamole appetizer is a must! It's made-to-order and flavorful. It's not doused in lime juice and tastes like how guacamole should taste! - Their beef and chicken fajitas are perfect for those who typically order fajitas (like me). Large portions and again, dynamic flavor!! They do not come with rice and beans, but you can add both of them for just a couple of dollars total. It's still worth it considering the fajitas are only $12! Cons - The pico de gallo was the only item without flavor. It was just diced tomatoes and onions, but no flavor like you typically expect from pico, very bland. - The restroom didn't feel/look the cleanest, I recommend some updating. - Their credit card machine "broke" while we were dining, so we had to drive down the street to get cash from an ATM. We didn't know this until we were checking out, and the owner refused to take a check even with proper ID. When they bring you the bill, the tab also states that they prefer cash over credit card due to rising credit card expenses. That's why I'm not sure if the machine actually "broke" and I would rather pay the 3% credit card processing fee than have to leave, go down the street to get cash, and come back to drop it off, especially when it's below freezing outside. It's 2016 and most people use credit cards! If you plan to go here, call ahead to make sure the machine is working or take plenty of cash! I almost gave it three stars for this reason alone, but the food and drinks were so good it's still worthy of 4 stars. I highly recommend! read more

I'm vacationing in the Poconos and was searching for hispanic restaurants and this was the only one that came up near where I'm staying, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is small so there was a wait. I got their beef empanadas and Bandeja entree. Both were very delicious and I would definitely recommend. The staff were really nice and attentive however they were a bit unorganized. We had like 4 different waitresses and they all seemed to be doing a bit of everything (working the bar, cleaning tables, seating guests) so it was just all over the place. Also, one of the 4 waitresses we had asked us if we needed a box to go, mind you my husband and I still had about 60% of our food left on our plate. Got take out during the Corona Virus pandemic and our experience was positive. Everything was delicious, our order was perfect. They did not forget anything and even made sure to keep the ice cream we ordered for dessert in the freezer until we picked it up. The restaurant is in a sketchy area, but it is warm and inviting place.Their enchiladas, fajitas, and empanadas are so so good. The waitress did a great job packing everything up and I am looking forward to the end of our current situation so that I can enjoy one of their tasty margaritas again.
