My wife found this place when we were looking for a new place to try. It is worth a try if you like a place with a nice atmosphere, decent service and pretty darn good food. You get chips and salsa at the start. The salsa is a spicy red salsa with a little tomatillo salsa in it. We ordered the chili con queso (a bowl). It was $8.50. Pretty good stuff. I had the Xmas burrito at $17. I had it with fajita chicken. I've really wanted one of these since I saw one on DDD at another restaurant. The New Mexico red sauce is more of a mole to me. It had a nice robust flavor. The green sauce was just a tomatillo sauce. Maybe that's the way they were supposed to be, I'm not sure. It was real good either way. The burrito is huge. I couldn't even eat it all. It has your choice of meat with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese. My wife had the pick two with a chicken and sour cream enchilada and a tamale. $14.50. It's served with rice and beans. She said it was spicy and the sour cream sauce was just cheese and sour cream together. We've had way better chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce so I would probably skip this one. The tamale was filled full of chicken and was good she said. My daughter had a bowl of Tortilla Soup. $7.00. She said it was spicy too. It looked really good though. The atmosphere was great. The place is designed very well with patio dining and misters to help with the heat. They have a bar and it looked pretty busy. It's a trendy place and is right next to Bobs Steak and Chop House. I've had better in Southern California. But this place hit the spot. I actually ordered to go so I can just eat in my hotel, and watch tv at the same time. I got the 4 carne tacos, with black beans and rice. For dessert I had the flan. The salsa was tasty, the roasted green salsa was a little spicy for me. I decided not to eat before a flight out. Came back here on a Saturday night around 7:15pm. The wait time was 45 minutes to be seated for a table of 3. We got seated outside but they had heaters since it was a really cold day. I randomly found this place while in Grapevine and it does not disappoint. This place has a really nice ambience, as well as amazing drinks, and desserts. I loved the pollo agave, it was phenomenal. It's not bad, but for the price I've had better. I think the most shocking thing to me is the churros are different than what I am accustomed to- a coating of sugar and cinnamon. When I saw the churros, I called in and was given a rude response of I should had checked the menu/ this is how they make them. So I'm not sure if I'll come back again to be honest. We lived in New Mexico for several years and Mi Dia doesn't disappoint. Great salsa and chile verde. They know what they're doing. The NEW MEXICO TAMPIQUEÑA is one of my all time favorite meals. Get it with stacked enchiladas and a fried egg on top. They have great drinks and an extensive selection of tequila. The ambiance great too. I've been to other Mi Dia locations, but the grapevine one is the best. The patio is great on nice days and the waitstaff is top notch. I always have a great time when we eat here. We arrived around 9:30 on a Friday expecting to wait for a table. We were a party of 2 and we were seated immediately. Our server, Jorge R., was extremely fast and very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Our waters never went empty and he made sure to check on us occasionally even though everything was perfect. Our table was next to the kitchen which made it a little loud and crowded, but this was no issue at all. Our food and drinks came out extremely fast but not too fast where we felt overwhelmed. We ordered chile con queso for the appetizer and it was very above average in flavor. For drinks, my boyfriend got the margarita which was top notch. I got the Texas Crush (strawberry Basil) and the Jardin de Oaxaca. The Jardin de Oaxaca is a mezcal based drink that uses huitlacoche salt on the rim, which is a corn fungus that is very Smokey tasting and worth trying if you are very adventurous with food. Our main entrees were the Chile Relleno topped steak (my boyfriend was obsessed and devoured it even though he doesn't like cheese or poblanos) and I got the Pollo Agave, which was very smokey and creamy, unlike anything I've ever had before. It was topped with a shredded green squash which went well with the dish. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. Much better value than larger chains like Pappa/deaux/citos/bros. We've been to this location a few times and always really enjoy ourselves! The ambiance is great: if you haven't checked out this part of Grapevine, I highly recommend it. There is ample parking and even a valet service if you prefer. The restaurant is perfect for a fun date night or, in our case, a quiet evening to catch up with friends. We always order the table side guac, which is a huge favorite. You can choose to add bacon and what spice level you prefer. Their queso is also amazing! Their alcohol menu has plenty of options whether you're looking for a glass of wine or fun cocktail. For dinner, I ordered the hatch chile tacos, which came with a side of poblano rice and refried black beans. Honestly, the sides are seriously underrated. I always look forward to the poblano rice! The tacos are good and are served street style, so don't expect large portions. This restaurant does a great job elevating Tex-Mex cuisine in general, so it's also a little on the pricey side compared to other locations. The only negatives: they are frequently packed and don't take reservations (or at least, this is what I've been told when I've called and asked at this location).
