We spoke with a lot of local people in town before eating here and everyone agreed this place is just ok and nothing special and I have to agree it wasn't a good experience for me my boyfriend thought it was ok because his carnitas burrito was decent lots of tender pork with some good guacamole to top it off. I ordered a small combo a beef tamale and cheese enchilada. Can you say yuck? My tamale was way under cooked the masa wasn't cooked all the way through and when the waiter caught the look on my face he came right over and asked if everything was ok I said no and explained to him that the tamale wasn't cooked and he acted as if I wasn't the only person to address this problem that day. So he took the plate back and as fast as it came back we knew it had been tossed into the microwave and slapped back onto my plate. Now by no means am I blaming the waiter for the under cooked food but the cook for being lazy instead of microwaving a undercooked tamale why not address the problem and steam a new one? A microwaved tamale is just not edible and it's unprofessional on the restaurants doing. The rice was good with my small combo the beans could've been cooked a little longer and I honestly don't know what the tall waiters issue was that works there but he needs a serious attitude adjustment he acted as if he didn't want to be at work. My recommendation is order at your own risk here but don't order a tamale stick with the chips and salsa possibly a burrito I just can't recommend this location. read more

A welcome newcomer to Ouray's dining scene, this outstanding Mexican restaurant is the third of a local chain, joining siblings in Grand Junction and Montrose. This is the real deal: authentic Mexican cuisine served in a brightly decorated two story building (the old Coachlight Tavern). There is a covered street level outdoor patio and a rooftop deck on the second floor with great views. The menu is comprehensive, and from our experience you can rely upon the friendly waitstaff for their honest recommendations. We had the Camarones Con Tocino (prawns wrappped in bacon) and the Carne Asada. Both were excellent. Tequila layovers take note: the Margherita Ultima was excellent, and served on ice in a drink shaker, and I counted 58 tequilas on the bar list! Highly recommended. read more

Standard Mexican menu. The food was good. The tamale was really tasty, the chicken enchilada was lacking seasoning, and the Chile relleno was soggy and tasted of the fryer in an unpleasant way. The vegetable enchiladas were literally a bag of frozen mixed vegetables wrapped in a tortilla- tasteless. Beans and rice were good and sauces were ok. The margarita looked and tasted like it was a sweet, syrupy mix with a splash of alcohol - could be ok to some people. It was all a little lackluster. Service was very friendly though! read more

Sat down just after 10:30, 30 minutes before breakfast was to stop being served. Asked for a breakfast menu, received a breakfast menu. Placed an order for chilaquiles and as I'm ordering, the manager stomps out saying no no no, no more breakfast is being served because that part of the kitchen is shut down. Okay, sure, cool. But chilaquiles are also on the dinner menu, just priced at 3$ more. I ask if I can have them for the breakfast cost of $3 less. He says no, because "the computer has changed" and by the time he's done explaining himself and justifying why I need to pay $17 dollars for my food his voice had grown considerably more loud and angry. I was within their advertised breakfast hours. Why can't I have the breakfast at the breakfast price. Lol read more

I really enjoyed my dinner at Mi Mexico. I was glad to see that they had a decent number of customers throughout the evening especially since they are not on Main street. They have a very cute little patio on the side as well as an upper deck. I decided on the enchilada & tostada - Combo 3. For the enchilada I chose chicken and for the sauce I chose green chili. I also opted for chicken and beans on my tostada rather than beef and beans. Those were excellent choices. I was also impressed with the chips and salsa. On my way out saw a sign that stated that they are open for breakfast. I can't wait to come back tomorrow for the chilaquiles or maybe I'll have the smothered breakfast burrito! Either way, I bet I will be happy. The food here is authentic and the menu extensive. Check them out. I'm glad I did read more

I saw this place posted on someone's TikTok and I'm so glad I did. The service was great, the food came out extremely fast, and the banana margarita was excellent. This is a hidden treasure in Ouray! It is Mexican food made and served Spanish speaking people. The flautas are huge and stuffed full of flavorful chicken. The chorizo queso is delicious. Our first trip and we will be back for the scenery and Mi Mexican. We like spicy but we also love food cooked well and flavorful. They might want to look at a way to give customers a spicery enhancement with a fried jalapeño but all the choices we made were delicious. We had to do takeout because we had a pup with us but everything was hot when we got back to our room. Salsa was spicy and we are hoping they make their outside dining area pet friendly. So we first drives by on Monday, seeing the Mexican restaurant and think it may be good because we are Mexican. So we come back the next day for dinner at around 6pm and got seated pretty fast. Which is good but still it took about 10 minutes for someone to come take our drinks and 10 more minutes to get them. After that we waited a while more just for us to get our dip. Then about 15 minutes later we finally got asked for our food, after about maybe 10-15 minutes we finally got our food. We asked for our bill and it came back as 20 dollars for me and my family's food pure person. We gave them our card and it came back in 10 minutes. That is to long just to process a card. If you want a fabulous authentic Mexican restaurant?, Don't come here. We literally couldn't eat what was served after the first few bites. I got the chicken enchiladas figured it was safe. Bland and tasted kinda funky. Was actually glad it was not doused in seasoning my husband got the chili relionos. Nothing like I have ever seen or tasted ordering a reliono before! Came in for a late night dinner as this was the only restaurant open in town at 9pm. Usually when you go into a restaurant within an hour of closing, you are met with a less than enthusiastic response from staff, but that wasn't the case here! We were greeted warmly and had the best experience. Not only were staff kind and welcoming, but the food was great! We had flautas and shrimp cocktail which were SO good. We came to Ouray for the weekend. Decided to stop in & have a bite to eat at this restaurant. The service was good, as for the food I had a shredded beef chimichanga in which the piece was a season so it was just very bland. My daughter had a street taco and she liked it. My sister-in-law, being vegan had beans and rice, and they charged her more than what my chimichanga was a little disappointed.
