I didn't come here with high expectations as I have my favorite banh mi shop and there hasn't been one that I've tried that was better but OMG the crispy tofu and shrimp banh mi were delicious. Every bite was full of flavor and well balanced. Just the right about of protein, just the right amount of viet mayo, just the right of veggies. I'd say all around perfect. We'd heard a lot about this place in the past and wanted to check it out, so we decided to stop by before an appointment in the area one afternoon. This time, we just bought drinks, as we're mostly GF. The drinks were a bit on the pricey side for bubble tea, but they tasted great! We ordered two more fruity-type teas, and unlike the teas from other places, you can really taste the tea! One thing to note is that their sugar levels are perhaps more accurate, so 30% sugar (the lowest above 0) is pretty muted on sweetness. Having gotten a bit used to another chain where 30% sugar is still quite sweet, that was a bit of a change from expectations. It's a cute little place, the decor is nice, the people are nice and it's a fun place to enjoy some coffee, tea etc. I am giving three stars because, the crispy chicken Banh Mi we got was not much of a Banh Mi, unfortunately. Loved it! Had the Korea sandwich with bulgogi beef and it was DIVINE. My boyfriend got the honey chicken which was also amazing-superbly cooked chicken and a lot of it. The bulgogi meat was cooked well, the sauce was flavorful, and the sandwich was fat. A bit pricey for bahn mi but it was worth it, the sandwich was super filling. We also got taro fries with a spicy aioli. They were good but kind of had the texture of calamari? Lol still good though, I loved that they were just ever so slightly sweetened. I'm on the search for a local business that sells bubble tea w/ quality bubbles. Here, I ordered a large Thai tea w/ oat milk and pearls. The oat milk base was rather watery which made me question whether they actually used oat milk, and the pearls were smaller than average and very lightly sweetened--not much flavor on their own. Thai tea flavor was strong enough though. I only discovered after ordering that the pearls and oat milk added about $1.50-2. This is because their in-store menu simply shows how to customize bubble tea--not how the toppings/customizations affect the price. So, just keep this in mind. After having food here, I literally felt like I was back in Los Angeles, at a Vietnamese cafe. The cafe sua da was excellent. I closed my eyes while I drank it. I had the Lemongrass Pork Bahn Mi which was also quite superb! They did not have any lychee flavoring which I was so sad about but I'm sure that was out of their control. I am not sure what happened to this restaurant in a matter of a few months, but their quality went severely downhill. First of all, the rice bowls had very little daikon (which I love) and the same thing goes for the banh mi sandwiches. The ratio of carrots to daikon was 90:10 (way too much carrot). When I ordered these items earlier this year, the restaurant included small containers of additional daikon which I appreciated as this is one of my favorite Asian vegetables. But not so this time. And the popcorn chicken was skimpy. It only filled maybe half of the container and this time the restaurant put a bed of greens on the bottom. It was a joke! The restaurant still makes great drinks and coffees, but that alone is not enough for me to return as a customer. There are much better Vietnamese restaurants out there .... read more

Mi 'N Tea is the closest thing I can get to good banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) and boba in Northeast Philly without driving all the way to Center City. Coming from the West Coast, Mi 'N Tea brings Vietnamese flavors that remind me a lot of home but with a modern flair. The only crime is that my mom would kill me if she ever found out I paid more than $5 for banh mi. PARKING: Parking in Manayunk can be crazy on weekends, so I think the best time to come is on weekdays. Even lunch rushes during weekdays aren't so bad. Metered street parking only. FOOD: So far I've tried the Classic (ironic considering this sandwich is usually called "dac biet" or special in Vietnamese), lemongrass pork, and crispy chicken. I haven't been disappointed in any of the sandwich. The only thing I would say is that I wish there was a little more pate in the Classic. And more Vietnamese Mayo because it's delicious. The amount of meat they put in the sandwiches is fair. I do think they could add more pickled daikon/carrot for a more acidic taste to cut through the richness of the sandwich. Also I think the ratio of carrot to daikon is off. It's like 90% carrot and 10% daikon. My favorite out of the ones I've tried so far would be the crispy chicken because the chicken is juicy without being greasy. DRINK: I gotta admit that their boba is good. The drinks, both fruit tea and milk teas, have a strong tea flavor. For $5-$7 (holy crap that is $$ for boba), I think they really don't skimp on flavor and ingredients. I've noticed other boba shops in Philly charge this amount for lower quality drinks (aka watery flavored milk) or for rip-off sizes. Feelin' Peachy and Lychee Mojito are my favorites so far. PRICE: A little higher than what I'm used to paying for similar quality food. A drink and a sandwich can set you back almost $15. Am I in SF?? I think it's probably because the rent in this part of Manayunk can be high. Overall: I love Mi' N Tea as a lunch spot. They are open for take out and you can also order online. Had an overall great experience! This place currently offers dine-in, with even some seating outside. I loved the decor. Once you place an order, they deliver the food right to your seat. The taro fries & chips were a great twist to the traditional potato. The more I ate the chips, the more sweet they tasted. I ordered the Crispy Fried Shrimp and the shrimp they used were huge! The Bánh Mì were delicious! Be forewarned that they do come with jalapeños. My sister & I like a little bit of spice, but we were unlucky to get a few seeds in ours. Love this place and I think about it all the time! If you're out in Manayunk, definitely stop by. They have outdoor seating too. The bread on their banh mi is perfect--great crust while also being soft. I found this place on Yelp. Came here because of the good ratings. I had a vegetarian banh mi with tofu and mushrooms. Delicious! It had fresh crunchy julienned carrots and cilantro. And a nice sauce on the crispy baked or fried tofu. I also had a mango coconut smoothie which was also great. The dining room worked out well for me-- I was able to plug in my computer and dial in for a work meeting and then I stayed and did some work on my computer without being chased away. Although Philly is known for cheese steaks, the banh mi here are hard to beat! My husband and I stumbled across this place while we were in Manayunk and it was delicious. They have good social distancing protocol in place for in person ordering and they have some outdoor seating. Of course they also have take out and phone ordering. The banh mi were AMAZING. Quick and casual banh mi spot. The banh mi options are all nicely curated and flavorful. You can't go wrong with any one of them - my favorite is the crispy chicken one! The taro fries were super crispy and delicious. They have a sugar coating on the outside which was great if you like sweet and savory. They also have a large boba menu. Wow what can I say I was fortunate enough to try this place and let me tell you it's one of the best "Mi" I've had. I went for a classic pork Banh Mi and pork there was a plenty. It was roasted/cooked perfectly no burnt or dry pieces, you can tell it's home made in house. Next, the bread, it was fresh, plump, and held up to not only the meat but all the condiments. Fresh cilantro, fresh crisp pickled radish, and the sauce. Mmm it's like we may as well call it Vietnamese secret Mayo. The Staff was nice, the place is super cute. The menu is very intuitive and everything is customizable. I didn't throw any curve balls in but I do want to go back and try the filet mignon BM. I went with a vegetarian who was pleasantly surprised with their options. I had the Side Trip to Korea, and while the spice pushed my limits, it was delicious! Only have done a takeout order here once, but wanted to comment as the sugar levels across the bubble tea places in the area vary so widely. I ordered the guava refresher, but so many of their drinks sound really good so definitely interested in trying more. You can customize the drinks every which way like most places, so I went with 30% sugar. This ended up being a true 30% sugar to almost sugarless taste. Therefore the flavor was a little more muted than I expected so next time I'll try 50% sugar so as to get more of the flavors. Mi 'N Tea is the best addition to Main Street in years, and could be the best quick service restaurant in Manayunk. It's about 2 days old as of this review. I ordered a Bahn Mi with Katsu Chicken and a Vietnamese iced coffee. First, the Bahn Mi was perfect; a delicate balance of bread and mayo sweetness offset by appropriately pickled vegetables and a jalapeño. There was a healthy amount of chicken; a bit more than I expected. The coffee was executed well, and gave me the afternoon pick-me-up I needed. I'll be returning frequently. After then deciding to cancel the order, she let me know the minimum was only for credit cards, which was not relevant since I was paying with cash. After making the interaction very weird, she didn't say anything to me after receiving the payment, which was very off-putting. If you're going to order from here, it's probably best just to stick with online ordering. Again, the food and drinks are great, but the customer service needs a little work to be welcoming. I love the banh mi here. I don't ever really order the tea. I've ordered coffee once and it was so so. The banh mi is great though. You can't go wrong with any of them. I would recommend the Fancy w/ Deep Fried Filet Mingon for the those that are new to Banh mis. The Vietnamese Pork skewer and lemon grass pork are delicious as well. If you are good w/ the mayo and classic meats, I think they use the pate here, then go with the classic. I've tried a bunch and have never had a bad order.
