Dined here for the first time and man it was the best experience! Sat at a the bar and Henry made the best espresso martinis I've ever had! Atmosphere is amazing but the food was even better! I had a fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and it was the best fettuccini Alfredo I've ever had. Drinks were on par. Recommend this place if you ever visit Pasadena. read more

we had a most enjoyable dinner here tonight. we had res at javier but when we got there, it was a 15 min wait ( why have reservations when u have to wait). the noise level was beyond loud. so we left and mi piace was willing to give us a table without a reservation. It was perfect. busy. not too loud. good food selection and the owner came over to chat and gave us complimentary dessert. it was a perpect evening after seeing an excellent play at pasadena playhouse. read more

Mi Piace used to be one of the top places to go to in Old Town Pasadena. Not anymore. Their prices are sky high ($62+ for veal!? ) and their food quality does not correlate to their prices. We started with the Manila clams which were few and tasteless. I had their piccata chicken which tasted only of lemons and had some of the chicken overcooked. My companion had a chicken lasagna which was burnt and super dry. Reporting to the waiter that my companion's food was sub par received no reaction. Not a place I want to repeat. I guess that just leaves me with memories of what it used to be like. Sigh. read more

Food taste was just okay , price wise was way too expensive for the portions they service . I call it a "Scobby Snack" . Service could be better had to ask for ice tea refills 3 times . Ambiance was okay , availability for Beef Lasagna Zero , how could a hi end Italian restaurant be out of it. Tell you what for my first time being there I will never go back. Charlie Trios in Alhambra and LA is way better value for the money. read more

When I was younger there used to be a Mi Piace in Burbank that my family loved to go to. So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw there's a location in Pasadena! I mostly enjoyed the place it's very nice on the inside and staff seem friendly. My food was enjoyable. But they did the one thing I cannot stand: tried to rush us out when there were several empty tables nearby and they were nowhere near closing time. It was Sunday brunch! I want to talk with my friends. Why are you pushing at us to leave? Based on this not sure I would come back. But the food was pleasant enough and if you don't want to take your time it's the perfect place. read more

Beautiful ambiance, delicious food and impeccable service!! My family and I have been coming to Mi Piace since God knows when. The people are GREAT and the food is fantastic. Bartenders Henry and Chris are FABULOUS and makes everyone feel welcomed. My dad had ordered the Frenched Iberico Chop (a house special) and thought it was the best pork chop dish he has ever had. Today was our first time in Mi Piace. We just moved back to Southern California after 5 years in Manhattan, New York. I almost never write Yelp reviews, but I want to say that the linguine and clams (Vongole Veraci) were the best I have had IN MY LIFE! I have ordered this dish all over the United States and in Europe, but none have been as good. There was a generous amount of clams and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. I think this is a great Italian restaurant although, I haven't had a pasta that I've been excited about every time I go but I insist on going every time! I think the calamari is the best! I really go just for the Calamari & Riesling but the restaurant is always full of people sooo I am sure I haven't found my perfect dish yet but I know it's there. Great vibes & music. A bit disappointed at the service this time. We went to celebrate my friends birthday and stated it on the reservation. But they did not even wish them a happy birthday while other tables got some huge candle for their birthday celebrate. So the service was not the best. Took a while to get our order and one of our dessert forks still had food on the fork. The tables are very close together at the dining area, so it was very hard to maneuver just to get to our table. They are getting a 3 star at least, since their food was still very good. But don't get their bread that was a bit sad how little there was. read more

June 2022 - 4 stars for the food and for our server. 1 star for the rude server (I believe he was the one assigned to the outdoor tables, thank goodness we sat inside). We were a big group celebrating a birthday and made a reservation for dinner. Food/Pricing - Margherita Pizza. $19 - Crunchy crust, perfect. Lamb Chop. $43 - Very tasty! Seafood Linguini. $46 - Pasta was a bit on the chewier side but I didn't mind. Osso Buco. $56 - Tender meats and lots of bone marrow! Prime Rib Eye. $66 - Ordered it medium and it arrived perfectly medium, excellent! Calamari Fritti. $17 - Can never go wrong with calamari. Alfredo Tartufo Fettuccine. $24 + $6 (add chicken) - Creamy and yummy! Pasta was perfectly cooked. Pink Panther. $18 - Tasty cocktail! Pretty pink. Service/Ambiance - Our indoor server was fantastic! He was friendly and very quick. The issue I had was when we were waiting for the hostess to seat us and had just literally walked in, the outside server came in and rudely started pointing and told my Dad to stand in another spot. We'd just barely walked in and there's hardly any space to stand. We were a big party and the hostess was collecting menus to seat us, it was my first time at this establishment and didn't feel welcomed at that moment. That outdoor server needs to revisit his tone with customers. However, our main server was great! Not sure if the air conditioning was broken but it was very warm in the restaurant. At Mi Piace my girlfriend ande were treated to our best anniversary night out yet in Pasadena. The food was incredible. I'm slightly sad to have waited this long before coming!! I had the ANIMALE- it was an incredible treat on the specials menu, and I pray they will keep it. It was a pasta featuring bone marrow and had the deepest flavor of any entree I've had this year. The person at the door escorted us to our table and did not say one word to us. We told the waitress. It was our first visit and she did not bother to explain anything to us including any of the brunch specials.. She did to the table next to us. It took close to half an hour to get our orders. The chairs had tears in them. So you could notice the foam inside.. My meal was $60.. I only ate 14 of it. They asked if I wanted to take the rest to go and I said no. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in the city of pasadena. read more

Use to be best Italian but food quality and portion went down but the price going up the roof. Calamari use to be the best thing ever but now it's soggy and not flavor. At 18.50 portion you figure portion came to about $2.50/ring which is way less than what it use to be. On busy night they overpack this place, so it was hard for the server to provide customer service. Overall this is no longer a place we recommend as quality went down and price went up. Also management is not the same as it used to be to be. read more

Ambiance and service was great, our server was amazing and restaurant was nice. Giving them the two stars solely because of that. Pretty interior too. I've had my fair share of dining and I usually don't mind paying a higher price tag for good food... this was not something I would pay for again. I took my parents here to celebrate and paid about $260 after tip for a party of three and had the following. - 2 alcoholic drinks ($20 each) - Seafood linguini ($58) replaced by the filet Mignon ($60) (will explain why later) - 22 day aged ribeye I believe ($70) And some chicken dish ($35) The seafood linguini was ... alright? my parents weren't the biggest fan of the mussels and thought they weren't fresh. To be honest, I tried the mussels and yeah they tasted really fishy and bad. Might be the sauce or the way it was cooked, but the restaurant let us replace it for the filet Mignon (they still charged me for it which I didn't mind but it took forever for it to come out :( ) My chicken was pretty dry and I enjoyed the mashed potato sides more than I did with the actual main dish. Can't really comment on the steaks because my parents ate it but they were not impressed. Overall food took a bit long to come out but other than that, the food is mediocre at best. Wouldn't come here again, but maybe we just got bad menu options? Dunno.. the servers are really nice though! read more

The food was good but the customer service was weak. the ambience was good but the parking was bad in Old Town Pasadena; they need better lighting inside the restaurant which was far too noisy. it was a weekday night. My date enjoyed herself but she did not have to pay the expensive bill. the waiter seemed to be catering more to her to get her to order more dishes and dessert when she initially responded in the negative. Came here on son's request for getting Mariner of the month. We finally had a seat by the window with way better lighting than the booths in the back where we were usually seated (party of 5 vs 4 and dining after 9 vs dinner rush) Nick was both our waiter and mixologist and I must say he's excellent!!! So nice, attentive whom also went above and beyond! A plus that it was Dine LA week which we didn't know till we got there, so of course we ordered from that. $65/ person. Frank is an awesome waiter; Attentive and very accommodating, Armen and Frank were able to plan the best surprise for my girlfriend- including the world-famous Tiramisu. Mamma Mia Pizza could be comparable, in flavor, to L'antica and the Black truffle Pasta is out of this world. Sparklers was a great surprise and made us feel like kids again. The space is small. Some reviews mentioned tiki bar and this is not a tiki bar, it's a speakeasy. They have a cocktail menu and a full bar for well/cocktails. Great place for a small group.

We came right when they opened so it was very empty, but the bartender mentioned it gets really packed and lively on weekends. If I came back and was able to guess the password I'd stop by when it's more energetic for a different vibe.
