So we were looking for a place to get breakfast before dropping my daughter off at the airport and found Mi Pueblito, a Colombian bakery, and breakfast spot. The coffee is the best I ever had in my whole life. The sandwiches were yummy and the guava cheese pastry was simply divine. Came here to grab some Colombian bakery goodies. I've had better pan de bono. It is not as spongy creamy here as other places. I tried almojabana which are similar to pan de bono(cheesy rolls) They said they were cheesier. I didn't think so and I didn't like the just bread texture versus the usual pan de bono texture. We also tried two different alfajores which would be dulce de Leche filled short bread round cookies - one topped with raspberry and one surrounded by coconut. I have had better. Lastly passion fruit mousse, yes sounds amazing to me, but meh. All in all, a win some lose some kinda experience. read more

We're repeat customers. Food is of the best of the many Colombian options in the area, however today's experience wasn't pleasant at the moment of paying. Upon seeing the check, we noticed the grilled chicken breast is priced on their menu at $13.99, but check said $15.99. I disputed why and their answer was that it's an old menu and that a manager wasn't available to adjust. I paid the $15.99 and didn't let this affect the tip for the waiter, however this left a "bad taste" with the management. read more

I am so glad that I found this place. I was craving some Latino food, particularly breakfast, and of course I had to open my favorite app, Yelp. I got a breakfast that could cure any hangover: mixed rice/beans, eggs, and steak it was all to die for. The steak was tender, flavorful, and overall perfectly grilled. Our usual go to Colombian place was closed so driving down we decided to have lunch at mi pueblito. Wanted the sancocho with ground meat for the side and we were told they didn't have any groud meat, so I ordered a sandwich de bistec and my friend ordered a chicken sandwich. They ended up bringing the sancocho with pork and we said we didn't want it due to the pork. Waiter i guess had not cancelled order. Price on menu for the chicken sandwich was 7.50 but went to pay and they charged 10.50. That a whole $3.00 dollar difference. I showed him clearly on the menu it stated 7.50 and they say there's a note right there (over the bakery cabinet) stating we are charging more for chicken. I disputed with the man if you STATE something on your menu you need to charge that, and he goes on stating they are waiting on new menus. I'm sorry but that is a total DISRESPECT for your clientele. Food was not good, but we were hungry, and in a hurry. I honestly am upset at the fact I paid what I paid for this food. After going to Cuban Breezes the night before I knew I had to make a solid choice for breakfast or I would meal choices taken away. My bf was not happy about Cuban Breezes and I know I was angry at myself. I did some research and we decided to check out Mi Pueblito. First off, you know the food here is gonna be good because the neighborhood looks very diverse. Across the street from Mi Pueblito is a Puerto Rican restaurant. There isn't anything that particularly stands out about this place. The decor isn't fabulous and it's in a strip center with some pizza joint. When you taste the food here you don't need a fabulous ambiance. Second, go with someone that either knows or kinda knows Spanish. Or you can just point to everything. I was able to channel my high school Spanish teacher so we could order. The service made me feel like I was at a friend's house or something and their tia or abuela was in la cocina making breakfast. So down home. And you can tell they take care of their regulars. We started with the arepas which were delicious and some empanadas. It's funny because I've had empanadas so many times but I guess I've never had Colombian empanadas. YUM! Definitely try them. I ordered the migas for my main dish and I've never had migas before. I reeeeeaaaaalllly liked them. It's hard to explain other than saying they're like eggs with "crumbs". I don't know. Don't ask questions. Just go and get this. read more
