    Rice bean bowl with corn???
    Marnie L.

We ordered for pickup and the food was ice cold. It tasted terrible and looked even worse. What is your with the corn? I took two bites and in the trash it went. Seriously, step up people.

    Camarones a la diabla
    Kristin E.

THE FOOD IS SOOOOOO GOOD. Okay let me calm down a second... I order camarones a la diabla every place I go. This is the absolute best. I will be coming back often. Now, the staff is clean, nice, attentive, and efficient. The place looks and smells great. I can't understand how it's not packed to the brim but maybe I'm in between lunch and dinner rush. If you're smart you'll come to this place.

$20 for a enchilada, crispy taco and margarita- amazing deal in my eyes .

Honesty I don't know why this place has bad reviews. It gets the job done. I charge my car at the Tesla station and sometimes I'm hungry and I don't want to go to sweet ts. This place is great. You can order Ala cart. They have a bunch of Mexican sodas, agua frescos, beer, and "margaritas" (I don't think they have a liquor license but they make it work) I'm never disappointed when I leave. Also it's really cheap!

Gordo Macho with chorizo and spinach tortilla. Comically large and they do not skimp

Called in a lunch order and there was some confusion on which "macho" burrito was ordered and ended up with the $27 Gordo Macho. I was able to eat about 1/4 of it and the family and I are eating the rest for dinner tonight. I would probably get the sauce on the side in the future so reheating would be easier. While $27 for my lunch is way out of my budget, $27 isn't so bad for lunch and a large dinner. Especially As it was delicious. I got the chorizo with spinach tortilla. Everything in it was great and well balanced. Not too much of any one thing and I'm not normally very into rice this rice was kinda popping. I didn't see the inside as a co worker did the driving and picking up. But it was only 10 minutes for everyone's separate orders. I'll update next time I am lucky enough to be able to have a lunch where I can go in. Next I want the chili relleno burrito. But a normal size one :)

Not as good as it used to be. Carne asada was bland no flavor at all. Plate got smaller than it used to be and the plate is expensive.

I was hoping they had mole but they didn't, which might have been too carby anyway. I was pleased to see that the menudo didn't have corn in it making it something I can have. The menudo was excellent, they don't skimp on the tripe and it tasted great, especially with the chili oil at end of the buffet. The Birria was also very good and I had to try the nopales con huevos which was okay. I wish I could have the tortillas that are made in site, my wife loved them enough to wrap a few up to take home. However had I not been writing a Yelp review I would have just had more menudo instead. It's just that good. I suppose one thing to know is about the long communal tables. In case that's a problem for anyone.

So after settling in line and realizing we were in for the long haul-my breakfast burrito craving instincts started kicking in,so I jumped on my phone and opened Yelp and saw this interesting looking spot wasn't too far away. With my spot secure in line by my buddy,I jumped in my car and headed to Taqueria California in Windsor. The shop is located in a multi tenant shopping center so parking is zero issue. Walking in I was greeted by the amazing smell of breakfast meats cooking with those beautiful Mexican spices,I knew I was in the right spot. The very friendly staff took my order of 2 breakfast burritos-I got a Bacon version and a Chorizo version-they cost $13.00 each Both came with a green and red sauce on the side and also a complimentary small bag of chips. I ended up trying a little bit of the bacon burrito, since it was my friends,it was pretty good and one can never go wrong with a bacon breakfast burrito-but honestly my chorizo burrito was amazing. It was perfectly seasoned-not overly greasy-and then paired with the two salsa-each bite was better than the next. The potatoes went so well with the eggs and chorizo and cheese-I enjoyed it very much. This was the perfect meal to start off what ended up being a big day of beer drinking at the brewery. In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Windsor area and are craving a breakfast burrito-I give this shop 2 major thumbs up and guarantee you will enjoy your meal from Taqueria California.

Service could not have been better or nicer. Chips and salsa both excellent; the folks in our group who'd been here before ordered the guacamole even before we sat down. I love how guacamole is slightly different in each restaurant -- this guac is super fresh and really delicious! One friend wasn't super hungry and so got the chicken tortilla soup -- just know their portions are LARGE. So soup truly is a meal in itself! Two of us got salads -- a friend got the taco salad, and I got the chicken tortilla salad. Honestly, I'd probably get the taco salad next time, but not in the tortilla -- the chicken in my salad was deep fried (I know, I'm in a Mexican place, what did I expect?) and so it kind of overpowered everything. Others got burritos, tacos -- and everyone gave approving "Moos" of enjoyment as they ate. Great drink menu, ice-cold beer. Definitely someplace I'd return to!

Unfortunately, I never received a response. A colleague and I visited for dinner around 8:00 PM. The bar area was crowded and loud following the Music on the Green event, with many guests gathered to watch the NBA Finals. We requested a table in the dining room and were seated without issue. We ordered two cocktails to start, but neither was prepared to our liking. We politely sent them back, and the staff graciously replaced them. Approximately 30 minutes later, we ordered a second round. After about 15 minutes had passed without receiving the drinks, we asked another server to check on the status of the order. Moments later, our food arrived. When we inquired about the drinks, the server informed us that she would not be serving my colleague because he had "had too much." I was genuinely confused and explained that this was not the case. We had each ordered only one drink, and neither of us had been drinking prior. The server then pointed to my colleague's face and stated that he looked tired and therefore appeared to have had too much to drink. At that point, I asked for further clarification because the explanation made little sense to me. Neither of us was intoxicated, disruptive, or behaving in any way that would suggest impairment. The only response I received was, "I'm sorry, that's it." This was one of the most bizarre dining experiences I have ever encountered. I fully respect a restaurant's responsibility to refuse service when appropriate, but in this situation the decision appeared to be based entirely on an assumption about my colleague's appearance who naturally has narrower, squinted eyes, which is simply part of appearance. It was very unfortunate and an inaccurate assumption, as he was sober, and we're behaving appropriately. I left feeling embarrassed, confused, and incredibly disappointed. What should have been an enjoyable dinner turned into an uncomfortable experience with no meaningful explanation. Because of how this situation was handled, and the lack of response when I attempted to address it privately, I do not plan to return or support this business in the future.
