We called for a reservation and don't take them. We had 13 adults and 3 children. That is only 1/2 of our family. They took only 5 minutes to readjust and seat us! Wow! They called us senior, señorita, amigo, & and chica! They spoke such rapid Spanish when they brought our food we had to have them say it slower. They got all our orders right. Very attentive waitresses and head person. We totally enjoyed the food and decorations there.Margaritas & Desserts were great. You'll enjoy it! read more

We've been visiting this location since they opened and always had a great experience. First it is decorated in a festive manner with bright colors and decorations. Always found the location clean, service attentive and polite. Now for the food ! Having tried multiple dishes now, I find all to be distinctive in taste, plentiful and from what others say very authentic. The owner is friendly and always greats us when he's on premise. Well recommended for lunch, dinner or snack before or after a civic center event. I like to support locally owned establishments. read more

Our last visit was very disappointing. We ordered Chicken Fajitas. The menu clearly states "grilled" chicken, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. Historically, fajitas are served on a hot, sizzling cast iron platter. And, the meat and vegetables are seasoned. This establishment served a non-sizzling platter of boiled chicken slices, with oily, sautéed bell peppers and onions. No tomatoes. It was apparent the chicken had been boiled as there was water on the platter. We knew immediately when the waitstaff brought the meal something was amiss. What a complete let down. The chicken was accompanied by a small platter of lettuce, pico de gallo, refried beans, Spanish rice, a dollop of sour cream and a tablespoon of guacamole. Three flour tortillas were provided. The initial serving of chips and salsa were tasty. Mi Rancho charges for an extra serving of chips, salsa and/or flour tortillas. Dissatisfied with this experience. It seems odd this Mexican Restaurant knowingly serves such a bad quality of boiled, chicken fajitas and expect to receive return customers. read more

Perfectly acceptable Mexican food but my rating is because we had inattentive service we were there and a really bizarre experience on the phone. My daughter called to confirm they were open until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night and was told yes. Then someone called us back and said they were closing at 9. We went to another restaurant nearby which ended up being closed, but, since we had driven by this place, and it was clearly open, we went back and ate there. What kind of place calls back to say they're closing when they aren't??? We are trying to support local businesses because we know they are struggling and this was so strange. We were seated right away. Even though they were busy the service was AMAZINGLY efficient and they all seemed so organized and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quickly considering how many guests there were! And the decor is rustic and authentic looking. A little nosy but it adds to the charm. The manager/owner was incredibly accommodating to our large party! The tone he set was superb! The food was excellent and very delicious! Cheese dip and salsa are very authentic and tasty! We ordered tacos carne asada, tacos el pastor, pollo Diablo, chicken flautas, and four kids meals - everything was cooked to perfection and served in an expeditious manner. I would not recommend. The food was ok... the bill was sketchy enough to turn us off in never coming again. There were no prices next to items and just a written total. Our whole table felt they ripped us off. We didn't say anything and just went with it. The more I think of it it was very unprofessional on their part. They need to figure out a better system. I guess this is my own fault for the way I feel and not asking for an explanation but they should also have a better system! read more

My husband and I eat here at least twice a month. The food is excellent, as is the service. The prices are very good. It can be busy, but well worth stopping in. I love their chilis relleno, but everything is great. I've never been disappointed! read more

Well, after a while of not ordering dinner at what we actually enjoyed we decided to order take out this past Friday evening. We eat vegetarian and each order we purchased that evening came with canned veggies which were placed on the grill prior to going into our dishes. Very disappointed that it has come to this because I do not believe that our previous experiences had canned veggies in the meals we ordered. Just not worth the money we are spending to enjoy a quality meal from a local Mexican establishment. Please fix this! read more

Quality of the food is great. Had poblano peppers delicious. Only have one irritating thing server when asked for itemized receipt his first response was NO - establishments should know that many business people require itemized receipts for expenses. MI RANCHO...Friends gathered the snowy evening of February 27th to check out this New Mexican restaurant in South Glens Falls.***** The Mexican decor was enough to make us forget the cold outdoors. The service was excellent and immediate with drinks and warm chips with excellent regular tasty and extra spicy salsa. The menu is expansive with a variety of authentic Fish, Chicken and Beef regional Mexican foods. FYI, if anyone in your party doesn't care for Mexican food, that's not an issue as they also have a selection of American food. We tried Shrimp, Beef Steak, and Chicken dinners that were perfectly prepared, plated and absolutely delicious. We have been dinning at another authentic Mexicano restaurant in Saratoga Springs. I must say that Mi Rancho will give 'em a great challenge. We will definitely return to Mi Rancho for authentic and excellent Mexican dinners, generous portions and great prices. As former west coast residents, we highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

Tried takeout from here tonight! Immediately impressed - the man who took my order said 10 minutes, it was ready in 9. We ordered 2 beef chimichanga dinners and the nachos supreme. Both were really delicious and we will absolutely be back. Very generous portions. Only negative? Judging by the menu - the total should have landed around $30 after tax? I somehow was charged $41 but didn't realize until I was more than halfway home. Still! I'm not even all that angry. A ton of food. I'm assuming/hoping this was an honest mistake bc like I said - the food was phenomenal! We will definitely try again. While we obviously didn't dine in, the ambiance and decor of the establishment was very bright, authentic feeling, and welcoming. I order take out. My food was ready when I got there. Service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly. The rice was some of the best I've ever had. The salsa was very good. The only thing that could have made everything better was if the tortillas were fresh made. I will definitely go back and I will recommend Mi Rancho to my friends. read more

We have been regulars at Mi Rancho, visiting weekly for most of the past year. Up until now it has been really good, with the occasional glitch but nothing too serious. Tonight, however, we were seated, ordered and received drinks, and then... nothing. We waited 25 minutes for someone to take out food order. Others who had been seated after us were attended to, and the owner had time to chat with other people in the dining room. I tried to flag him down, to no avail. When he finally asked if we were ready to order, we were ready to leave and asked for a check for the drinks. He walked away, and sent it to our table with someone else, never apologized, and ignored us. After countless great experiences there, it was a sad way to end our business relationship. read more

So I went in to get a order to go, and based of the reviews I decided to get a large amount... that was a HUGE mistake. I ordered 12 tacos, 3 each of shrimp, carnitas (pork), steak, and chicken; as well as guacamole, hot salsa, and pico for a total of just over $50. I sat over at the bar because I wanted to order whatever the house special cocktail was while I waited for the food to be ready. The waiter up front told me to get my own menu instead of giving me one, not a big deal but honestly a sign to come of the rudeness I experienced. When he came over to take my order I had asked him what the loco taco was (because there's no description)... then I asked again, and again before he finally answered me frustratedly as if I was stupid for not knowing what a special taco was at a place I've never been. I was going to order 2 more things but he just walked away, so I guess my order was done. I sat there for about 10min, again at the bar, no one asked if I wanted to order a drink or even offered a water; it's a very hot and humid day mind you. Eventually the female server was making drinks in front of me and I asked if I could please have a water which she did give me but didn't say a word to me. A few minutes later my food was done and they called me to the front to pay. I asked if I could just check the order first because it was a large order and I wanted to make sure it was all there. They told me I couldn't check it at the bar, even though it was mostly empty up there, instead they had me check it at the cramped entrance way at the servers station where there was a dirty rag, children's toys, and a hairbrush full of hair... not exactly a place you want your food next to. It was all there but I was given a very small bag of chips, and considering all the guacamole and salsa I ordered I expected more then 11 chips. I even made a point to ask for more chips because I got so much dip, the male waiter said no. I made sure to get a receipt, which had an extra 50 cent change on it which I assume was my water... I paid and left, no thank you, have a nice day, or even a goodbye, they both just stared at me which was rather uncomfortable especially after such rude service. When I got home I ate one of each taco and tried to eat the salsa and guac.... SALTY just like the servers. The guac was inedible! The salsa wasn't my thing but I don't like green salsa so I can't really say if it was good or bad, the pico was good. The rice and beans were fantastic, honestly the only good part of this whole experience. My tacos... only one of each type was a full taco, the other 2 in every package only had half filling. So in reality I had 8 tacos and 4 empty tortillas with tons of lettuce yet I paid for 12 (see photo). Flavor wise they were all on the salty side, chicken was the best, the carnitas had a weird burnt taste to them but it must have been in the grease or something because I couldn't find any burnt bits. How this place has good reviews I have no idea, and I certainly will never return. read more

Food is good although very overpriced for what you get. Customer service is not good, example below: Ordered five items, 40 minute drive to pick up. Get back home, only had four items. Called, was told they only heard four items, but would have missing item ready if I returned. 40 minutes back, pick up item, charged full price. Get home, item is completely soggy and was most likely made for our original order and was just forgotten. My fault for not confirming all items present in original order. Their fault when I returned and received item clearly not freshly made and, my best guess, not owning up to the fact they just forgot to include it originally. This place is fantastic. No liquor license yet but the food was outstanding. The beans were flavorful which sometimes isn't the case at Mexican restaurants. It's a small part of the dish but balances the whole plate. The steak was grilled to perfection. The chorizo and chicken were great. Mi Rancho Mexican in South Glens Falls We lacked for napkins and water and our salsa and chips were not refilled, having to ask for everything. The steak was chewy and barely warm. Ingredients were not authentic Mexican but out of a can. As for the fried ice cream, are you serious? The crispy fried layer outside (suppose to be oats, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour) was anything but. Did you glue stale (and again, chewy, we spit it out) cardboard onto it? One bite was too much. Yuck! Coming for food? Forget it. Buying a plane ticket to mexico would be less daunting. Coming to get drunk? Good for you, the margarita was Cuervo strong. Our server was not friendly at all. Can I say mean? Aloof describes him perfectly. Are servers SUPPOSE to be aloof? One star only, not two. read more

I have never had a bad lunch or dinner here! The food is great and always large portions. The items are moderately priced, actually I consider them lower than what they should be due to the portion size. The atmosphere is okay, and the only critique is that the hostess/food runner could at least smile every now and again. The servers are attentive and quick when needing anything, even though they are not overly friendly. If you want great food, good atmosphere, quick service and to not be hounded by servers, this is the place to go! read more

Food is decent, but drinks and service is miserable. I asked two waitstaff politely if they make their margaritas with a mix or if they were fresh. Both said there was no mix involved in the making of their house margaritas. Both lied or were simply unaware of what they put in their drinks. I received my drink, took two sips, and told them I didn't like the drink and if I could just have water. They were rude about taking back the drink. Once we got our food, no one came to see how it was or if we needed anything. Luckily, the food was edible and we didn't need anything else.
