Okay so I hate leaving unsatisfying reviews but unfortunately I was not impressed with the work I had done. Originally, upon completion of my gel x full set and pedicure I was happy. I got my nails done the same day of my birthday party, my pedicure did not last through the night. I added an enhancement to my toe nail so they would be even and perfect, the extra enhancement broke before the night ended. Fair enough. Wasn't going to complain, it happens. Last night, not even a week since I got my full set my index finger broke off and I had to glue it back on with nail glue. I got my nails done March 6, broke by March 12 -- 6 days. Probably won't be back. Everyone was nice but I need my nails to hold up at leaaaaaaaast a week before my nails start breaking and looking funky, we pay too much money for half ass jobs. They were able to fit me in last minute and were hospitable for my gel manicure. It's a clean salon and calm environment at Mi Time. I got a simple gel manicure that was done well, was timely and still looks great. I had a lot of color options to choose from. There is a parking lot which is a plus. We called for a last minute pedicure and they were able to acomodate. The one thing that stood out about this place was that they had free parking in a private lot which is so convenient in this area with so many street parking restrictions. The owner/manager was super friendly and great. She did a great job on my regular pedicure which cost $35. The one disappointment was that I took my partner in for his first pedicure ever and just by observing his pedi compared to mine, it was very disappointing. I observed the young girl who finished in half the time of my pedi - his food scrub was 10 seconds and his massage may have been 15 seconds. I was so annoyed this had to be his first experience and he made a comment that for $35 plus tip, he'd rather do something else with his money. I'd definitely request the manager or someone with more experience to do your service. But overall, my pedi was good, I'm unsure if I'll return because it's hard to ask for only one person to work on you - they seem to share work depending on how many clients are there at the time. read more

Have been going to this nail salon for awhile for dazzle dry and dealing with them never really having the appt time that I want however after my last appointment with them the nail tech continued to argue with me about my nail shape and was super rude about anything I asked. My husband and I came and got a manicure. We did call prior and make reservations. The place is small and very cute. We found street parking, but they have a huge parking lot and you can definitely find space instead of paying for street parking. We weren't welcomed when we came in and the employees aren't as talkative or kind. Prior to us getting a manicure, we saw a lady finish hers and tip the employee. The employee looked frustrated at the tip amount. Our manicures were done so quick, within 30 minutes. Price is reasonable, but I also felt that they didn't appreciate you unless you gave a 'good' tip which immediately bothered me. I payed $80ish for 2 manicures, which included tip. My mother has Parkinson's disease and walks with a walker and it has never been an issue to get our nails done. I made an appointment for my mom and myself for 2:30 yesterday. We got to the salon on time. As we were picking colors one of the technicians walked over and said I'm sorry but we can only do one pedicure, I explained we made a reservation for two manicure and two pedicure and she continued to say she could only do one and was like we can do yours. I explained to her that if you can only do one, do my mom that I would just do the manicure. My mom said that she couldn't get up on the platform to sit in the elevated chairs (which this is usually not an issue, they always accommodate and bring a water bucket for the lower chairs at other places) so I asked if she could do it at a lower chair since my mom couldn't access their elevated platform. She said no unfortunately not that we should have asked in advance and maybe she could have done a bucket pedicure, that they offer it but she would not be willing to do it. I started to feel like from the moment we walked in and they saw a handicap person that they didn't want to accommodate her disability. We left as it seemed they were not interested in servicing us at all. We tried a new place because our normal places were closed and sadly this salon does not accommodate handicapped people. Amy's nails on Robertson has the kindest staff and the ladies are more than happy to do a chair pedicure off to the side since my mom can't get up and in to the big chairs, as a matter of fact every nail salon we have gone to has never not offered this accommodation. Maybe this post will help others before they drive there and make the effort to get into the salon just to be faced with a business who prefers more able bodied customers. read more

I've been coming here since they opened and have told countless friends and clients that they are the best in town. But sadly, they aren't as meticulous as they used to be, and the vibe isn't as friendly as it used to be either and it shows in the inconsistency of services here. I will still come in for regular mani/pedi services every now and then but will NEVER get GelX here again. The last time I went to get a new GelX set - I pointed out to the tech before she started shaping and polishing that there were bubbles under the GelX tips and she said it didn't matter...except it did, because when I left there were pockets between my natural nail and the tip that kept getting dirt and debris stuck in them that I had to scrape out when I wanted to clean my nails. Additionally the underside of the nail was so messy, the nails looks great from the top but underneath was embarrassingly rough and full of debris from filing. They charge a lot for GelX, and tbh maybe I should have been more insistent and picky about them fixing their work, but I just paid and left. Don't get GelX here, just don't. I had 3 weeks old dipped nails that needed to be removed and the tech took a lot of time grinding the dipped powder off my nails so the nail bed would not get damaged. It pains me a bit to write this review as the owner Emma is actually very nice. However, the fact that I've been in pain for the last 3 days compelled me to write this to warn others. The first time I went to this salon on a whim for a gel mani, Nelly was my tech and did a great job. I've been back a couple times since, have never seen Nelly again, and no one has been as friendly or meticulous/skilled as Nelly. All lukewarm experiences. This last time, my experience was absolutely unacceptable. Soko was my tech. I noticed she was overzealously cutting my cuticles. When you overcut cuticles, this tends to lead to wild cuticle overgrowth and hangnails that point every which way, a result that is both painful and hideous. I politely explained this to Soko and asked her not to cut too much of my cuticles off. She dismissed me with a grunt, gave me an annoyed look, and said, "No, I'm not overcutting, this is dead skin." She continued along her merry way. Literally a minute later, she reached my index finger and aggressively cut off a chunk of skin that was decidedly NOT dead. I know because a jolt of pain shot through me and blood poured out, lining my nail bed. No apology or acknowledgement from Soko. I pointed it out and asked if she could disinfect it. She nodded. The nail was not disinfected. She halfheartedly applied pressure with gauze to stop the bleeding. Through the rest of the appt, the cut continued to bleed and line my nail bed with blood; she painted around it all. When I pointed it out a few more times, she applied pressure with gauze, each time more halfhearted and annoyed than the last, as if it was my fault she'd damaged my finger! We all make mistakes, sometimes shit happens -- but the way the situation was handled (the initial refusal to listen then the lack of accountability and failure to address it properly) was unprofessional. My index finger has been red and inflamed for the last 3 days. This is the first time I haven't tipped a service technician of any kind, and I've never had such a poor experience at a salon. Poor service and attitude, and complete disregard for my autonomy and what I, the customer, desire for my own body. (Besides the cuticle damage, she also cut my nails uneven lengths when I'd asked to have it even.) When you go to a salon, you do not expect to leave feeling worse than when you entered. I'll end with this tidbit from Dr. Joel Schlessinger: Trimming or cutting cuticles during a manicure is purely cosmetic and doesn't benefit the nail in any way. In fact, it's actually harmful to your nails. "The small area of skin is there to protect your nails from infection. When this skin is removed, your nail is left unprotected from bacteria and fungus. Cuticles should never be cut or trimmed as it leads to infections and ultimately damage to the nail." read more

Got a manicure. Brought my own dazzle dry system. But they still charged me $10 extra for dazzle dry. I asked why, first they said because they carry the brand. I asked again because that makes no sense. Then she said because of the labor, it takes extra time because of the layers. Umm it's a base coat, 2 layers of polish, and a top coat. Is that different than a regular manicure? If they were going to charge more they should have told me ahead. Especially since I've been bringing my own polish for a while now and not being charged. It goes on like regular polish and but lasts as long as gel. And, it doesn't mess up my nails like gel does. I got a gel. At other places, my gel manicure usually lasts about 4 weeks without any scratches. This is the first time in my life that my gel manicure fell apart after TWO DAYS. I don't know what step this place is skipping or doing a shitty job at, but they need to figure it out. When I returned to the salon to show them that two nails' polish was TOTALLY gone, they fixed it for free but said "well, it happens." Ok fine whatever- not great, but moving on. Two more days pass and ANOTHER nail loses its polish in one whole piece. Crazy!!! This is insane for gel! And to add insult to injury, when I checked out, I paid and then AFTER she had run my credit card, she said "are you a new customer?" and I said yes. And she said "oh, you could've had 20% off." WTF, why didn't she ask that before I paid? This place just opened after all so most people are probably new customers! Then she gave me a card to get 20% next time instead... except there will be no next time!!! There are too many other great salons in LA to ever go here. Love this place! Just opened for 2 weeks. Super CLEAN and pretty interior, super friendly staff (offered tea, coffee, and champagne) and lots of choices to offer for nail services. They were able to get a design I wanted and offered a super good price. Location wise it's super good cause it's right across Beverly center. They took great detail and care and didn't rush the job. I called at around 5:50pm to see if I could get a pedicure within the next 10 minutes and they were kind enough to put my name down for a 6pm appointment. The salon itself is very cute, clean, and chic! They also offer validation on parking so don't be too intimidated when entering the parking lot. Overall, I had a lovely experience. All the workers were very nice and sweet! And Nicole (who worked on my pedicure) was very fast but very clean with her work. After my nails were done, they let me hang out for a few minutes until my nails were dry and I was ready to leave, I did not feel rushed at all.
