I went to Mic Drop to sing my heart out with a few friends in a private room. The room was awesome! The song selection is done on an iPad, and they've made it super easy to search and add songs to your list. The song selection was extensive! There are also touchscreen controls for things like volume and key changes. There was a mic stand, a tambourine and maracas, a disco ball with colorful lights that could be set to dynamic lighting programmed to the music, or controlled manually. And there was a fog machine!! We couldn't have it on for very long at a time, but it was so fun. These elements added an extra layer of fun to the experience. The seating was like a long cushy booth with a low coffee table in the middle for food and beverages. We had our own thermostat to control the temperature in our room. The bathroom was outside the room and was nice and clean. A staff member got us set up in the room and showed us how to use everything, took our drink orders and came back to check on us a few times to see if we needed anything. We were so excited about everything in the room, we didn't get around to ordering food this time. Our room booking was about $25 per person for 2 hours (which is their minimum). The menu looked moderately priced. We had so much fun! The ambiance reminded me of the private room karaoke places I've been to in Hong Kong and Japan, more so than the places I've been in K-town. We didn't go to the open karaoke bar on the ground floor (rooms were upstairs), but that looked nice and fun too. read more

I can't recommend this place enough for an elevated karaoke experience. Note, it's understandably pricier than some Ktown spots that offer budget-friendly drink and room packages--but you truly get what you pay for. Our room came with temperature control, customizable lights and fog, and a sound system that let us fine-tune mic and music levels. The room included two mics, maracas, and a tambourine. Check-in - From the moment we arrived, Miguel made us feel welcome. He walked us to our room for six, patiently showed us how everything worked, helped us order our first round of drinks, and made sure all our questions were answered. Service and cocktails - Everyone ordered something different, and every cocktail impressed. The drinks were well-made and delicious, and the service was warm, attentive, and perfectly timed. Staff checked in often, cleared empty glasses, and made reordering easy. Music selection - Almost every song we wanted was available. There was only one exception, but you can vote for missing songs, so it may be added in the future. It didn't put a damper on the night at all. For the curious, it was the Perfect Strangers theme song--and yes, someone else voted for it too. Tips: The room for six felt a little cozy, but since we're close friends and had full temperature control, it never felt uncomfortable. If you feel like you want more room for your specific party, I recommend booking the one for 10. Try to arrive a few minutes early. They need time to get you set up and show you how everything works. We arrived right on time and lost a bit of singing time. The system shuts off exactly when your reservation ends, with no extensions or make-up time. Uh, what?!! What? I have like ten reviews on an account that's older than Yelp itself so you already know I have something to say. Here it is: I didn't know you could do karaoke like this, at least in the United States. Mic Drop made my jaw drop, OK? OK? What is this place? First of all even the walk to the front door - actually golden double doors, felt like I was on the red carpet (with no paparazzi). Walking in reminds me of going to a show somehow, which was pleasantly strange at first but I would later understand why. I got my name on the list - actually I just asked the "KJ" (karaoke dj?) who was nice as hell. But then I noticed there was a built-in kiosk on the wall where would later do a deep dive - the catalog was T H I C K. This is not a limited menu when it comes to songs. Maybe too many? Naw. What makes Mic Drop special, I think, is the vibe and ambiance. I said in the first paragraph I'd explain so here it is: something about the lighting, the golden mic, the party vibe and maybe the slightly elevated stage, made it low key feel like I was a rock star for a few minutes. And I wasn't singing rock - I was "performing" my favorite Raphael Sadiq song - Still Ray, (IYKYK) to my "fans". . Instead of a disco ball there's a giant disco microphone hanging from the ceiling. There's a fog machine!?!! And there is freaking stage lighting! Which was kind of good because it makes it a little harder to see the audience, or dare I say "fans"? I think we nailed the song - thank you T. This is all free BTW. The stage downstairs is open to the public although they had to turn people away as the night got later bc it was at capacity. Sorry dudes. There the main stage, standing room around it then a bunch of seating up a little higher - it was giving speakeasy meets old Vegas, meets 70's soft walled deep velvet luxury. Yeah I said that. I'm a rum and coke fellow but I did order a cocktail just to try bc I heard they were good. I don't remember what it was called - they all had cute names - but it was blue and it was quite nice and the proper strength. But after that (and an r&c) our party was called up. We were led by a super nice dude in a plaid shirt with no sleeves (that appears to be the uniform, nice) onto our PRIVATE STUDIO! There were a lot of us so we actually booked two rooms and they were cool with us going back and forth - not gonna lie, I followed the food - which was quite good. The charcoochie plate was solid and served on a nice wood platter type situation, beautifully arranged. We got two pizzas - both were quite good but we probably should have gotten more because we disappeared them with alacrity. One did kinda taste like a BK Whooper - but I a good way. We could not bring ourselves to order caviar but it was on the menu. For real. Caviar. What is this place? Downstairs was fun as hell but upstairs in our private rooms was where it got real. I've been to other karaoke spots, mostly in Korea town, and Mic Drop is on an entirely different level. Everything was high quality - from the microphones - real nice mics - to the sound (exceptionally good) and, wait for it, customizable lighting AND a freaking bullt-in fog machine!?! Hello! I've been back once since and look, I will be back again - Second time we didn't rent a room, just vibed downstairs. But I plan on coming back 1,000%. Food is good. Vibes are great! We had a wonderful night tonight celebrating my friend Carl's birthday. The servers were very attentive. They had four or five people serving us. We had the Luke Skywalker room which sits 50 people. The air conditioning was on full blast. It was not hot in there at all everyone Said how nice it felt and the food was delicious. We had pizza drinks, cocktail, shrimp shrimp cocktail also a cookie with vanilla ice cream. These private rooms upstairs are perfect for a birthday celebration a promotion or anything and Tyler the manager was very helpful and attentive and making the hospitality experience perfect in every way And on our way out every staff member near the door thanked us for coming in. This is a perfect place to rent for business functions as well or employee promotion parties as well. It's actually perfect for any type of a private party because they have rooms upstairs to fit your capacity needs. read more

For being open 2 weeks this place has done so well! My party was only in the main room, which has a great design to work the crowd. Lots of corners to sit in and hide until it's your moment to shine. The staff was fun, pro and great as sales, shout out to Kenneth Michael! The KJs (Cam and Sophie) were great singers, engaging with the crowd, and made sure to try again if people missed their song. Drinks and food were excellent. Song choices are good, with many non-English options too. Everything is new and clean, and it feels right. **** The ONLY criticism I have is that the vocals are so low, the singer can't hear themselves, which makes them shout and..ugh...it's not fun. I get they're trying to make the sound pleasant for the crowd, but it takes away from the singing part of the karaoke. Last night I had a pre birthday celebration at Mic Drop. I've utilized a few of the karaoke rooms in KTown and always found the song selection rather limiting. Not here. Practically every song we wanted was available and we picked some obscure ones. Every staff member that we encountered were amazing and so helpful. They truly made the night special and I can't wait to go back there and do it again. It was a fantastic experience and despite being fairly new, they've got their act together. All the members of my party were so impressed. Sorry for the lack of photos but we got a little overzealous on the haze machine and the lighting. If you're looking for a great evening, this is a perfect choice. read more

Mic Drop Lounge Beautiful surroundings, friendly people and a great vibe. Arrived at 5.30. Stayed until almost 10, hogging the microphone for numerous karaoke numbers. As the evening progressed, however, a few cracks began to appear: 1. The sound mix: The microphone pick-up is weak so the singer has a hard time being heard. They NEED to fix this ASAP - the most important thing in the room HAS to work. The only time things seemed to go right was when the bartender came on stage to give rousing performance of the old chestnut Feeling Good. What does he know that the rest of us don't? He said to hold the mic really close to your mouth. I doubt it! 2. Lack of choice. The range of karaoke numbers is understandably biased towards the present day but the choice - especially for such a big new WeHo statement - is surprisingly minimal. Here is a list of songs that they did NOT have during my first night: Stephanie Mills: You're Putting a Rush on Me. Carpenters: Happy Peggy Lee: The Folks Who Live on the Hill Donna Summer: Sunset People Ok, only the Mills number was released as a single and that was in the 80s, so I kind of understand . But I have sung each of these songs at numerous other karaoke establishments. And considering the club's location, the lack of Summer's iconic song seems particularly egregious. Guys, I mean two blocks! You're in WeHo, gay central, and you don't have Moroder's masterpiece! Gotta show some respect to gay history. 3. The two DJs are very welcoming but you go back more than 10 years and, well, they are flummoxed. Irvin Berlin wrote Alexander's Ragtime Band in 1911. That's 12 decades of pop music. They did, however, have Jefferson Airplane's "Go Ask Alice" which was a pleasant surprise! 4. The food is limited but what they have is tasty. The pizzas- four different types - and the tater tots are delicious. The service, however, is a bit on the slow side and needs to be improved. Apart from the state of the sound system my other grievances are minor and can be easily fixed over time. I am definitely coming back. However, if my voice continues to be drowned out I will be less likely to return. In the meantime, we have rented out a private room for Thursday - $120 for two hours for 2 people - my husband and I- so we can really check out the sound in more detail in another location. And a shout out to the management - I had originally booked the room for yesterday evening but we were having such a great time at the bar that we stayed.. The owners changed our reservation at no extra charge. Cheers! read more

I'm obsessed with this spot -- it's hands‑down the most fun I've ever had at a karaoke bar, and trust me, I've been to a lot. Great to have this here in the heart of town! Main Hall and bar has Nightclub vibes and a Karaoke stage done at high level. Velvet walls, Active lighting and family friendly for the wife and kid who prefer the private karaoke rooms. Ipads control songs and screens. Very cool spot. read more

Just went last night aka I left a few hours ago. Spent around 5 hrs there. Before I even got there, I emailed the bar asking if they had happy hour (they don't). However, they were very responsive and their customer service is amazing. My group booked a private room for 2 hours which was a bit small for 6 people, but it was enough room for us to move around and have fun. The room was very new and the system is easy to learn and control. We could even control the lights and mist machine! The drinks were delish, and their signature lemondrop shot is really good. Everyone loved it. Their snacks are affordable and nice to nibble on during karaoke. Throughout the time, many people came to check on us (I might say too many because over 3 people introduced themselves as our new waiter in 30 mins so that took up time). Only critique is that our waiter came in like 20 mins before our ending to settle the bill but it took up time from our singing. Maybe they could wait until we are done next time. In sny case, it was a great time. After we left the private room, we went out to the main stage where people sing in front of others and it is a great time. There are karaoke games and a bunch of talented singers. Music on main stage leaned 80s but it was a good time! read more

The first time I went to Mic Drop was near the end of April, just a few days after their grand opening. Since then I've been there a total of 7 times. It's a karaoke lovers dream come true. The owners (Oliver & Leo) thought of everything. The layout, lighting, sound system, ambiance, the placement of the monitors, and more. The bartenders & waiters are consistently attentive & friendly. The same with the KJ's. They are so welcoming, helpful and fun! I mean literally every single staff member that I've interacted with has been amazing. Last Sunday was the first time I reserved a private room. We got the 14 person room from 5pm to 7pm. There were 11 of us. As soon as we arrived we were escorted to our room, shown how things work, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. We easily were able to do all of the following: use 2 wireless mics, pick a song, adjust the vocals, adjust the key, change the lighting & effects, turn on the fog machine and more. Lots of options and easy to use. Our waiter (MacLaine) was helpful, personable & professional and he checked in on us every 15 minutes or so. Not once did we have to go looking for him -and- even though the room was booked under my name we were all able to start our own tabs (for food, drinks & tip) and pay separately. The food is good too. We had shrimp, caviar bumps, and pizza. Delicious. I enjoyed my beers (I just wish they had a bigger selection), and all my friends said their drinks were excellent. Around 6:45pm MacLaine let us know we have about 15 minutes left, so we planned our last few song choices accordingly. We left our room just after 7pm and several of us stayed, drank, and sang some more in the main club area. We left a little after 10pm. What a night!!! This place... I've gone by myself and with friends and either way I always have a blast. Such a sense of camaraderie and fun! Applause, applause!!! I hope Mic Drop is here for many years to come. read more
