I had a full day of Michael & Son and each experience was top notch! I met Justin Chaffin first to fix the lighting in my ceiling fan. He assessed the electrical problem and explained to me what the problem was and also explained what was needed to fix the issue. Justin shared what specials would help me fix the issue while also saving on other services that I would be getting or may eventually need, which I purchased and am so glad I did. I learned through Justin that the company was helping an organization by donating towels and I was delighted to assist. The overall appointment was fast and efficient. Justin was courteous, polite and provided great customer service. It was my first interaction with the company and he made a great first impression. My ceiling lights are working for the first time in almost four years, I'm a happy camper! I next met Chris James who came to asses my water heater and inspect my plumbing, another great experience. After diagnosing the issue he found that he needed to pick up a part. He made the pick up and returned quickly to fix my water heater, restoring my hot water. Yay! Chris was very polite and explained to me the issue and how he was going to fix it. Chris provided great customer service and handled everything quickly and efficiently. I felt confident in Chris's work and though he felt I should be good to go he reiterated to give them a call if I had any problems. It felt great to have hot water again and I'm grateful for the fast same-day service that was provided. Lastly I met Bruce Hooper who came to do an inspection and tune up on my HVAC systems. Bruce was a wealth of knowledge and enlightened me on a ton of things I didn't know I needed to do for the care of my systems. Clean filters? Yup, that wasn't happening but he walked me through step by step on what I needed to do going forward from cleaning my filter and emptying my dust trap from the dryer (didn't even know about that thing) but thanks to Bruce I feel more confident that all of my systems should continue to function efficiently and I look forward to working with him again when the seasons change for the next tune up. It was a pleasure to speak with Bruce during the appointment and I appreciate the time he took to show me how to properly care for my systems. I interacted with a great bunch of people from a great company. I was referred by a co-worker and am so glad that I made the call. after reading a lot of bad reviews on here, but I have personally had three good experiences with Michael and Sons...I felt the need to go ahead and write a review. It seems a lot of people that are writing the one stars reviews do not understand how blue-collar trade work operates. Yes they have to diagnose the problem and yes, it may be something different than what they originally stated, but that's why they come out and charge for diagnostic. The reason why they charge a dispatch fee is because of stupid people who make an emergency call and it turns out that the fuse is tripped on the main breaker...they have to pay their employees for their time no matter how big the job is and if you're too stupid to check your breaker before you call a technician, then that's on you. There's alot of you people that like to shop around for the lowest price and it would be an extreme waste of time for Michael and Sons to send a free technician out to every single home every single time someone had a problem and called for service. If you're concerned was the cheapest labor then you should've never looked into Michael and sons in the first place. my husband is a mechanic and not every mechanic is built the same either. Skilled labor ain't cheap and cheap labor ain't skilled haha. This company, you are getting licensed insured and warranted work plus a large network of customer service representatives if you have an issue after the fact. if you're concerned with the cheapest job, then you need to call Bo from down the street with a sticker on his van. Both of today's representatives were very polite and I especially enjoyed Kat for my HVAC tune. She was very personable and even took a liking to my pets which I found endearing. Bruce was great! I will highly recommend him and your company to other home owners. I come from the trust but verify world and Bruce did a great job answering my numerous questions in layman's terms. This allowed me to feel well informed about needed repairs and comfortable with decisions that needed to be made. We had a capacitor that needed to be replaced and this was done. However, it turned out that this did not entirely fix the problem as the TX valve was stuck. I understand that one repair needed to be made to then determine if there were other down-stream issues. I will observe that your company should always ensure that the customer is fully aware if the initial needed repair may not entirely address the issue and there is a possibility of additional repairs. You also want to be VERY aware of disclosing the potential costs of those repairs to the customer upfront. However, your HVAC manager was very willing to work with us and offer a discount due to what I will call "an honest miscommunication and misunderstanding." (Bruce did a truly excellent job explaining how the capacitor functions and why, even though the ac was actually now cooling, the TX valve still needed to be replaced and what possible issues could occur if it were not replaced. Being a trust but verify guy, various on-line information and blogs validated his explanation) No customer feels good about spending money on a broken AC system and the only thing any company can do is offer an honest, reasonable, and straight forward diagnostic and estimate ..... and truly value their own reputation. I am extremely pleased with their extraordinary customer service, professionalism, and efficiency in the conversion to "tankless". Ed was the initial rep who visited my home late Thursday night as we were scrambling to address the overflowing water due to an aged water heater (19 years) in my garage. He confirmed replacement is needed and recommended several options for a Tank vs. Tankless replacement. He became a trusted advisor as his expertise, competent, and thoroughness was evident in the course of our conversation providing insight and options on multiple course of actions. my air conditioner crapped out last night at 8 PM. called Michael and Son spoke to the dispatcher, a actual live person at 8 o'clock at night another first. He gave me an appointment for the next day. Logan the service tech called me to state that he would be able to come sooner, 20 minutes later he was at the door. after a brief discussion, I explain to him what I thought the problem was immediately went to work to diagnose the issue. He determined that the electronic board at field and has he spoke to me he called the manufacturer, gave him a PO, and then left to pick up the parts. That was a first for me the technician actually place the order with the supplier to get the parts and then he left to pick up the order. He was back in 90 minutes install. The parts in the Aircon was up and running again. This was Wednesday, July 3 any other service company I'd be waiting another 7 to 10 days for the parts to arrive before they could return to service the unit, not Michael and son this is a very proactive professional service company. They are now my service company for my AC electrical and plumbing needs. Logan was very professional, courteous and well turned out. It is Michael and Son uniform. I truly feel blessed to have met James ("Jim") Fetter with Michael & Son Heating and Cooling. Jim visited my home to provide quotes for the replacement of both of my HVAC units. Before meeting with him, I had already received estimates from three other companies. I was absolutely amazed when Jim's quote for replacing BOTH units was comparable to the quote another large, heavily advertised company provided for replacing just ONE unit. The difference in pricing was astonishing. What impressed me even more was the flexibility Michael & Son offers. If I choose the "Comfort" option, the total cost difference for replacing two units is only $3,995 more than the competitor's quote for a single unit. With the "Performance" option, the difference is $9,840. Once again, I was truly astonished by the value. With all of the rain and issues that we've had in the last couple days I had been without water because of a broken water pipe. I didn't call anybody else, but Michael and son because I've heard good things. My inexperience manifested early on upon his arrival and I have to apologize to him and his company And anyone else that I may have offended. But when the price I was expecting was exceeded, that's when I showed my ass and was momentarily someone I didn't recognize someone I didn't know I was and yet... I . Match the technician was on time I had been kept apprised of anything that impacted my service call And everything flowed like the water escaping from my water pipes. I don't have a son only interaction that I have had with young men has been through my son-in-law. I hit the lottery with that young man. And as much as I think of him and his integrity and work ethic I swear I could believe that at one time they had been joined at the Hip Matt, I'm certain my behavior landed upon you this morning as a foul wind my deepest apologies to you, sir. My plumber/technician, Matthew D., was very personable and conscientious in being sure that he protected my carpeting [with his shoe covers]. He encouraged me to order replacement parts for my toilet (which stopped flushing), instead of recommending a costly installation/replacement. Additionally, he asked me to replicate the situation which caused the [repeated] clogging of my kitchen sink, by having me to demonstrate my usual meal preparation process. In this process, I typically grind the peelings and small pieces of vegetables, which caused clogging of the non-disposal side of the sink. The resolution was the removal of an eating utensil from the pipe and the trap was cleared. Currently, the disposal appears to be running clearly; however, the service was a bit more costly than anticipated, at nearly $400. I may contact them - in the future - but, that would only be for convenience of appointment scheduling. read more

I was a little bit apprehensive to call a company that I picked out of the yellow pages from a gut feeling. I do not write many reviews unless I am very impressed. I want to recognize Dubois G, Danny G and David R. All three of these gentlemen were nothing but courteous, professional and nice. They even asked me where I wanted them to park their truck? I do not think I have ever had better customer service. In addition, I could tell right away that the three are all very knowledgeable and perfectionist. I had to purchase a new heat pump, which is one of a homeowners biggest investments and you want top notch equipment, installed by dependable technicians that really care if it is done right. My AC Cooling Clean & Check service appointment done on 5/21 by Steven Jennings was top notch as he is one of the best in his field. Steven takes pride, has the skill set of a seasoned technician, and never hesitates to go that extra mile to answer all customer's questions and will go farther than any other tech to solve every issue fully and completely before leaving job site. Even when potential harmful or damaging parts are discovered Steven explores all options with customer and recommends best fit to resolve the issue. You can never go wrong with this young man because his work ethics are top notch, and should be emulated by all HVAC service technicians.
