Meena is a true godsend. I have difficult texture and waist length kinky-curly hair - and a history of bad hair stylist experiences. I go to Pareesa at Michael Anthony and love it! I have gone to Pareesa for a long time now and love her new location! The salon is in a great location right on Big Basin, perfect for people watching, and so nice and new. I didn't think Pareesa could possibly get any better as a stylist and then she went and did! She is now offering a new service called the Brazilian Blowout, the answer to my frizzy hair prayers. At first when she told me about it, I thought it was a straightening treatment, but it's not. You'll have to get Pareesa to explain it to you in technical terms; all I know is I can wash my hair and flat iron it, curl it or even style it with my natural curl in a reasonable amount of time (which you know, if you have naturally curly and frizzy hair, is hard to do). It took a couple hours, but for 12 weeks of frizzy-less-ness, it was totally worth it! Thanks again Pareesa! read more

Went here for the first time today. My stylist, Tiffany, whom I loved, had moved to a salon too far away for me and so we lost touch. She moved here about a year ago and I just found out! Boy am I glad! My cut and color today was, as it had always been, awesome! She is so nice and friendly and happy to work with your needs. As for the salon--very nice. Bright, open airy, and bustling! Easy to get to on the main drag in Saratoga. No dedicated parking but it is easy to find free 2 hour parking on the street. Everyone inside seems happy. read more

This salon is amazing. The salon itself is bright, open, clean and very welcoming. Michael, the owner, is super nice and every time he sees me asks how I've been. They also carry great product at competitive prices which is great because I don't have to drive to a bunch of different places to get what I need. I've gone to Hedi for about 7 years and I wouldn't get my hair cut or colored by anyone else. She's pretty much done everything to my hair in terms of different cuts/colors and every time I have amazing results. Here's a few of the many reasons I love Hedi: great with short and long styles (I know this because she cut 9 inches from my hair a few years ago to give me a cute and modern bob), she's a pro when it comes to color (I've always been a brunette but she's done almost every shade on me and every time it comes out so natural looking; I also know she's great with blonds because one of my friends that sees her is blond and the color looks awesome), she always stays up on the current hair trends, and she's so nice! I'm honestly embarrassed it's taken me this long to rave about Ayumi at the Michael Anthony salon. I first came to her after my hair had been ruined by another salon's mistake and she is unparalleled in her understanding of hair color, hair health and empathy. Not only did she correct my hair, it has truly never looked better. People constantly ask me who I go to to get my hair done. In the past, she's given me highlights, babylights, balyage, root taps and of course haircuts and I can attest that all of her services are truly top notch. Regardless of the method, the end result is always natural and during COVID-19, I couldn't believe how well my roots grew out. I was one of the lucky ones who got in to see her before salons had to close again and I was truly wowed by the safety measures in place at the salon. I called from the car to let them know I had arrived, was met at the door to have my temperature taken, was given a disinfected pen to sign a form and plenty of hand sanitizer is available throughout the salon. Everyone wore masks at all times, social distancing was in full effect (they have a special schedule so only a handful of stylists work at a given time) and I witnessed the stations sanitized before and after each space was used. This isn't even an exhaustive list of everything they're doing to keep their clients safe. I always look forward to my time with Ayumi (love catching up with her, because she's also just a ton of fun) and I can't wait for my next appointment (even if my hair can) thanks to her. read more

I want to begin by making the seemingly bold, but very honest statement that this was hands down the best experience I've ever had at a salon. It had been five years since I'd stepped foot in a salon (yeah...) and I went in nervous and unsure of what to expect. In any situation, it's a bit daunting to try a new stylist, so I showed up with notes and pictures. I was greeted the second I walked through the door by Michael, the owner, who enthusiastically shook my hand and acknowledged that a: he knew I was new, which gave me an awesome vibe that he makes a point to be familiar with every client, and b: that he could tell I was nervous (haha!). He immediately swung out the praise for my stylist Katrina, reassuring me that she was an outstanding colorist and I had nothing in the slightest to be worried about. Even though I was early, Katrina came down to greet me and took me straight up to her chair. This has never happened to me before - I'm used to waiting an extra half hour for my stylist to be ready for me! Now that were in the chair, let me sing about how amazing Katrina was. I explained how it had been daaaays since I'd gotten my hair done and I wanted to go from my natural brown back to the blonde that I preferred, told her I was lazy with my hair styling and care, said I wanted to keep the layers long enough that they wouldn't be falling out of my updo at work, then told her the rest was at her whim because I don't actually know anything about hair. I can honestly say my nerves were instantly gone and she chatted and joked with me the whole time, while also giving me some great tips and showing me some super cool and easy (perfect for my lazy butt) techniques. She gave me the greatest I've-known-you-forever/girl-I've-got-you feeling. Three hours later (Katrina invested some serious time) I left with the best cut and color I've ever had. Some of the most personable and considerate people I've met in the service industry. They really care about their clients, in terms of your hair health and what kind of look you want to achieve. For most of my life, I've gotten by with generic Supercuts haircuts-- a trim here, bangs there. It wasn't until a year ago that I met Michael and Ashley at the Benefit Fashion Show at Saratoga High School. They were both busy backstage perfecting the hair of models but very friendly and helpful. I booked an appointment with Ashley to do my prom hair the next week and have been going to Michael Anthony Salon ever since! ASHLEY is absolutely amazing. She's the kind of stylist that wants her clients to be happy with the end result. She's careful to ask what I want, but to be honest she knows what will look good on me better than I do! Most of the time when I come in I just tell her to do her thing and it always turns out wonderfully. ASHLEY is great at perceiving what will look great on different faces. She's patient and doesn't mind explaining what she's doing at all! ASHLEY is also a whiz at hair coloring treatments. A few weeks ago, I went in to the salon and wanted to try something new. She suggested an ombre. Although it took two hours to complete, it was well worth it. She was meticulous about every step and even teased my hair to make sure there wasn't a horrendous just-dipped-in-paint look for my ombre. I'm still getting compliments! ASHLEY also does a great job recommending products that might be helpful (always mindful that I am a college student so she gives me names of the to-get-by product and the to-invest product to try out!) I'm not one who typically write a review but it would be a shame not to share such a positive experience I've had with Michael Anthony Salon. It was my first time with Michael last Thursday and I was a bit nervous, you know kinda like a first date. First thing I noticed as I walked in to the salon was the welcoming atmosphere. Staff were friendly, the interior design is modern and yet it has warmth and family-friendly feel to it. Then I met Michael. He seemed like a truly nice guy (good-looking too! and married ;) So, we chatted and started getting to know each other a little bit as he cut and color my hair. Then his wife and 3 beautiful children stopped by and by now I was convince that he is an awesome, down to earth human being! That's what I felt when I came in, just good energy. But who cares about all these right? Did he do a good job? Of course not, he did a GREAT job! I found the color a bit dark for my taste but he happily and willingly fixed it and spent time, without addtional charge until I was 150% satisfied.
