Great pizza! I ordered from here on one of my first nights in Villa Park. My boyfriend and I were hungry and had a hankering for pizza. We recently had Dominos and it was not so great, so we looked up pizza places nearby. Michael Anthonys had good reviews on Yelp, so we said, hey why not. I had it delivered and it got to us pretty quickly. We ordered a large pepperoni, half onions. It was pretty yummy. A couple weeks later, I drove down Villa and realized how freakin' close this place is to me and felt like a dummy for having it delivered when I only lived two blocks away. Give me a break, I didn't know where anything in VP was. We had pizza again and this time I picked up myself. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small. Just a few tables. I don't think it's a sit-down restaurant; more of a "order and get it to go" place, but I suppose you could sit and eat your food if you really wanted to. The staff is really nice and the pizza is cooked well. I'm looking forward to trying more things from the menu but for now, I think I've found my go-to pizza place. read more

We were previously customers of Dominicks pizza, but I was never happy with the quality and we went there because they were cheap and there aren't many choices for pizza in Villa park. So Last week I ordered a Tony's special pizza. It was excellent! Great sauce, not greasy, perfect crust! Better quality food! Today I ordered dinner for the family. Cheese sticks and fried mushrooms were great! My wife and daughter loved the blue star burgers and fries. I had the baked lasagne (is it possible to have too much cheese? It was not good pizza. I didn't like how you couldn't ask for well done ordering off the app and I felt like there was old pizza cheese and ash on the bottom of the pizza. I've lived in the area for years and it's taken me this long to write a review. Anyways this place is great. We usually take it out or ask for delivery. The delivery may take awhile but its worth the wait. It's that good lol. It's a pretty good price and they'll do whatever you ask. The only thing I don't like is the pepperoni. Living across the street from a solid pizza place, it's hard to justify going out of my way when the thin-crust urge arises. I bought a LivingSocial coupon for Michael Anthony's a while ago on account of the great reviews posted on Yelp and finally had a chance to try it last night. My only regret now is that I didn't do it sooner, having lived in the area for the last 6 years. I can't understand why someone would go somewhere like Rosatis when a place like this exists. I got the buffalo chicken pizza with ranch base, which totally hit the spot. Leftovers tonight will be a treat. If their other pizzas are as good, I'll be adding this to my regular spots. Dined in Ordered sausage and cheese pizza, combo appetizer, broccoli cheese puffs and salad. Appetizers were hot and quite enjoyable with sauce and garlic dressing. Pizza had a nice thin crisp crust with the right amount of sauce that was not too sweet, cheese was nicely portioned and the sausage had the fennel flavor without any off flavors. The pizza was not too greasy either. The garden salad is enough to feed two and the garlic dressing made it even better. Really good thin crust pizza. The sauce... it's the sauce that's good. Some group of motorcyclists meet there EVERY week on Tuesday (during riding season). So it's got'ta be good, right? Ordered a 16" Thin crust pizza....cheese sausage mushroom 1/2 pepperoni and bacon. Ingredients were great but where's was the sauce??? I have to recant my 1st part if my review. Really a good find! Just did a pepperoni thin crust for our family if 4, and had plenty and really tasty. Also did a garlic cheese bread that was delicious and for dessert, we had a cannoli (yum!) and they had lemon Italian ice which my 3 year old loved! Great service and delicious food. Though I live in Elmhurst and have several pizza options to choose from, such as Roberto's, Rosati's and Lou Malnati's, I guess I'm partial to Michael Anthony's, but solely because it's my first and middle names. I ordered through Grub Hub, a medium thin crust cheese, sausage, mushroom. I ordered at 8:25PM and it arrived at 9:40PM, just several blocks away. The sauce was a bit flat on flavor, and beat out Roberto's over priced, light on ingredients pizza, but fell a bit short on the flavor on Rosati's, which can vary from order to order. I work in producing and editing spots for broadcast television and radio as well as digital, and with so much competition in market share, I'm surprised that none of the 6 to 8 places that compete with each other, don't make a push to edge out their competitors by spending the money and getting their name out there. This is by far the best pizza in the Villa Park area. I wish I still lived in VP because I would still order from here..I don't think they deliver out by me though. I think I used to order from here at least 1x a week...yikes! A while back they used to provide free pop with their delivery, but they stopped doing that. I would always order the "everything" pizza...mushrooms, onions, sausage, green pepper and a side of fried mushrooms w/ ranch...delicious. This was our first time eating here ( well, delivery). We just moved to the area, so trusty Yelp gave us this place. We order a 18in thin crust cheese pizza and chicken finger. Food came within 40 mins though the woman who took order said about an hour, so that was great especially with a hungry one and three year old. My boys destroyed the chicken fingers in about 30 seconds, so I didn't get to try them but I'll take their messy smiles as an A+ job. The pizza was delicious and hot. The crust was crisp without being hard including the center pieces. The only downside was it tasted a little like cardboard- like the box was brand new and the smell went into the pizza a bit. My husband couldn't taste it, and I can taste and smell everything so it probably wasn't a big deal. We will definitely get it again! read more

I'll order from Michael Anthony's a couple times a month. It will never go down as one of the all time great chicago pizza joints in my opinion but it is a solid pizza and i do enjoy it & you can't go wrong with it (With the exception of the BLT pizza... yes... bacon lettuce & tomato pizza... horrible experience). the price is what makes them a real score for pizza in my opinion. there are a couple other places in the area who's pizza i do prefer over Michael Anthony's... but you can expect to pay upwards of $8 - $10 more for a delivery for the exact same pizza... when you consider the pizza is pretty good & cheaper... then picking them over the competition is easy unless i really have a taste for their competition. i give them 3 stars for the pizza itself but they earned the 4th star for their prices read more

Solid pizza. Skip the cheesy garlic bread as it wasn't very garlic-y and was on a weird type of bread. Pizza was excellent though! No liquor at the restaurant but you can order the pizza at the bar down the street and they'll deliver it. prices are great! Will order here many more times from here on out. read more

I'm giving 2 stars here based on the Yelp definition of "Meh. I've experienced better." I think 2 stars is a little harsh, but 3 start is "A-OK" and that sounds awfully positive to me. I'm a displaced New Yorker and to me NY pizza is "real pizza." That being said, I rarely if ever ate a pizza I didn't like (or at least wouldn't eat over many other food groups.). I can't comment at all on anything other than the actual taste of the pizza, as I have only had it picked up from here several times since my relatives live in the area and they think this place is the greatest (or at least the best in their radius). I'm judging this solely on the cheese pizza (which is the benchmark of how I feel pizza joints should be judged). And, as the Yelp nomenclature sums it up: Meh. I've experienced better. It is totally edible pizza (seems fresh enough, nothing disgusting). But it is also extremely tasteless/bland. There is absolutely no reason I would go and spend $15-20 for a pie here when I can have a frozen pizza for a quarter of that price. Honestly - even pizza from a chain is more appetizing to me (albeit probably made with not as wholesome ingredients). To be fair - my wife tells me that I don't like it because I eat the plain - and that the sausage pizza is great. But, in my opinion that just means they buy good sausage (or maybe make it?) - but it still doesn't mean their pizza is anything great. read more

My review is two stars because Yelp considers that "Meh, I've experienced better". And that's how I feel about this pizza. My review is for the thin crust. I felt the best part of the pizza was the cheese. The sauce was good but there wasn't enough on the pie even though I ordered extra. The crust, in my opinion, was chewy and tough. When I walked into Michael Anthonys', my plan was to dine in. After sitting down for about 5 minutes with no attention I finally asked guests at the table next to me if I was supposed to order at the counter or if a wait staff would come over. That guest told me she had no idea but she went to the counter to order. I asked the very sweet girl who was cleaning the counter what I should do and she said "It doesn't matter". I sat down and she took our order but I still wasn't sure I was doing "the right thing". It was kind of odd. Nobody checked on me while I ate and when it was time to leave, again, I didn't know what to do. I finally went to the counter and someone from behind the counter (who was also very nice) asked if he could help me. I said that I needed to pay. He took my payment and that was that. It was just strange. There needs to be more direction to those who are dining in. I will not return. The pizza just wasn't worth it to me. It wasn't bad, just wasn't that good. read more

Actually would rate it a half. Twice bad experience . Once pizza was soggy. Second time there was paper in the cheese that my children were eating and when I called and spoke to the manager. She was very rude and nasty on the phone. Told me if I wanted another pizza I had to go back to the restaurant and that I had put paper in it wanting a free pizza. I took the pizza back and the manager didn't even want to talk to me. The hostess saw the paper and said that the cooks said it was by accident from the cheese. Terrible manager. We've tried Michael Anthony's twice and the crust is very good - nice and crispy. But there is something missing because the pizzas lack flavor. We had four pizzas with all different toppings and all four of them were bland so we attribute it to the tomato sauce they use. There are too many options around that are much better so we will not be back. read more
