My grandma lives in Villa Park, and when I first moved to Chicago I lived at her place while she was in Florida. That is when i discovered the deliciousness that is Michael Anthonys. Its your typical Western Suburbs pizza joint - you gotta get the thin crust sausage - because well, if you are a true Chicagoan you know that thin crust is the true measure of a great pizza. The crust is super thin and crispy and the service is fast and friendly. They also have a great salad - creamy garlic dressing! But the portions are big and food is fresh. This place delivers some pretty decent bar food, and pizza as well. I've ordered directly from the restaurant and from the next door bar. Every time we order, the food is solid. The only issue I've had is that the last two times I've ordered, I've ordered the chicken philly and I get the regular philly. While both are tasty, I really wanted the chicken! Maybe I'll try again next time. All and all, the food is tasty and will satisfy your need for something with more calories that you should eat in one sitting. read more

We've tried Michael Anthony's 3 times within the last year of moving to the area. The first time we ordered sandwiches. I had the italian beef - it was so dry I ended up finding soy sauce in our fridge and adding it to my sandwich to provide some flavoring and moisture. I tired the beef a second time thinking I had to have had a fluke sandwich. Nope, equally as dry. We decided to try one last time but get a pizza this time because we've heard good things. We ordered te buffalo chicken pizza.... the cheese tasted like plastic. My husband said it tasted as if it was cooked by a light bulb in an easy bake oven. For $17 for a 12inch pizza, we could have bought 2-3 decent quality frozen pizzas and had a better tasting dinner. We gave them three times and it's been a major let down. Hi have to say, I tried this place because it just popped up in grubhub and I haven't found many good pizza places around Elmhurst through grubhub. I searched here (yelp) to see if it was even worth it. The reviews here persuaded me and I'm glad! Not only was a delish looking hot pizza delivered to me in EXACTLY an hour from ordering, it was one of the BEST pizzas I have ever had. I ordered the buffalo pizza with a ranch base. I use to work for a pizza place near Elmwood Park that I could swear was the only place who made buffalo pizza the right way but (rare occurrence) I WAS PROVEN WRONG! I have lived in the city for the last 15 years and moved to the suburbs in the last year. The one thing that I thought I was going to miss was the food from Taylor Street and Little Italy! Michael Anthony's has filled that void for me. The pizza is so thin and crispy. The sweet peppers on everything is my favorite thing. Pizza, sandwiches, salads..... The works salad is my favorite. I guess the 8" thin crust pizza is my second favorite. Haven't tried the rest of the menu yet, but I am hoping I will love all of that as much as the salads and pizza! read more

We celebrated my daughters Kids Birthday party at Fingers N Faces Nail salon next door. They had a blast getting their nails done,getting glitter body tattoos ,making necklaces and watching Frozen. Then we went to Michael Anthony's pizza and our Pizzas we hot and ready they let us bring our own cake for the celebrations. I like that they were right next door to each other and they helped coordinated the booking so we could go from one place to the next. We will do this again. read more

I would say that i got a dish that had peppers and just really was too spicy to enjoy- but I did know they were in there so should have known better just took away from experience. First off... The food is good. Some specialty menu items (Coo-Coo Bird rocks) that are amazing. I work in the area and found myself coming here to lunch a couple times a week. Work with a vegetarian and she loves her non meat choices. So why only 2 stars? CUSTOMER SERVICE. My first beef I would normally never bring up except for the fact it was immediately followed by a worse incident. Came in to pick up my lunch and waited at the counter for I swear 5 minutes before someone finally noticed me. I realize kids are working there (a lot of horseplay laughing from the back) and good for them don't wanna get them in trouble. But the next day I ordered a pizza for delivery, they have been here at least a dozen times before, and was told "You are out of delivery area" What? I order there frequently enough. Did you change your delivery radius? Nope. The chick on the phone was like "We delivered to you in the past because we were slow, now I'm too busy to bring you dinner" I was floored. Way to take care of the people who are giving you business when you are slow. I work in the customer service industry and I would lose my job if I treated anyone who called like this. Unacceptable Dominick's was more than happy to take my business, and deliver to me. And they are further from my home. read more
