The new dentists who have taken over the practice upon Dr. LaCorte's retirement do not appear to be as experienced, or perhaps, as honest. I am not sure which. At our first visit with new dentist and following X-rays, we were told our child had multiple cavities. This was a shock as they have only ever needed one filling in their life. We decided to seek a second opinion with another pediatric dentist before putting our child through multiple fillings. Our child has now been seen by this other pediatric dentist, twice, over six months, with full x-rays and exams, and we have been twice informed that after very careful inspection our child does not in fact have any cavities--not even one. read more

Like the review below for Feb 2024, we have the same experience. We been going to Dr. LaCorte for years. With the new dentist, not sure if they were trying to increase business. Our pediatrician recommended Dr. LaCorte after we had some concerns about IV sedation in a office setting. Our three year old needed extensive work. Dr. LaCorte put us at ease. He has privelages at Banner and expedited the procedure. When our older son needed work as well, Dr. Lacorte provided a dedicated anesthesiologist for the procedure. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!! My child has gone here for years and we have problems every time. The last time I told the assistant to NOT give my child fluoride and she actually put it on without my knowledge. Also if your child needs surgery you are NOT allowed in the room. The office seems nice but I as a parent have no idea what the staff and Dentist might do. My child has only like being there because of one assistant that is no longer there. My child had been a patient of Dr. Michael La Corte"s for 14 years starting at the age of 3. She is now 19. Dr. La Corte put braces on my daughters upper teeth to correct a small overlap of her two front teeth when she was in eighth grade. Five years later we decided to take her to a different dentist because she was older now. We found out she had a severe upper cross-bite. Her upper teeth had been widened to the point where the upper teeth did not touch the bottom teeth on the left side. We were made aware by her new dentist that this was functionally necessary it be corrected. She's been wearing braces for 2 years now and finally she's able to eat on the left side again. We were told she could have lost her teeth in her twenties if it had not been corrected. I have posted a pictures to show what her teeth looked like after Dr Lacorte completed her braces. Don't Waste Your Time! Dr. LaCorte works with an anesthesiologist once a week [pre-COVID-19] for more in-depth dental procedures. Our family dentist recommended Dr. LaCorte for our youngest child's dental needs (2014). I later switched my children to Dr. LaCorte after moving (2017). For a dental emergency or more intensive dental work, Dr. LaCorte is a good asset. Children have the option of selecting a prize from the treasure chest after their appointment. The waiting room has activities and video game consoles for the kids. Children's TV programs are shown on screens in patient rooms. The hygienists are friendly and work well with children of all ages and various needs (sensory issues, nervous about the dentist, autism, ADHD, some physical limitations, etc.). Dr. LaCorte is laid back and humorous. The office staff are polite in word but not in tone nor action. Do not come from a working class or lower background. Do not come in unless you are dressed business casual or better (no t-shirt & jeans/shorts). You will be judged for it. Do not have a bad/stressed-out day. You will be met with looks and undertones, not patience or empathy. Do not be part of a split or blended family. Messages are not shared with both parents nor is there any understanding or compassion about how compliant or non-cooperative the other parent is. Do not have a special needs child. Despite their promises of understanding and working with your child's needs, they do not. It is all lip service. The office staff will use all these reasons and more to look for excuses to exclude you from their clinic, including making up things and falsifying records. Then, they will fail to properly communicate with you the "reasons" without taking accountability for their actions nor following the dentist's purported guidelines. All of which further impacts meeting any dental needs of your children. Bottom Line: Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else. They are constantly booked out months in advance except for emergencies that you can get treated elsewhere without the office staff discrimination. read more

I Love this office. Dr Lacorte and his staff are the best I have ever came across for my kiddos. From check in all the way to check out, i had a great experience. You can tell these ladies love their job! The front desk girls were professional and very welcoming. The dental assistants were the same and made my kiddos feel very comfortable, which is hard to do. Don't let Dr. LaCorte start your children in braces too soon. He recommended our daughter start and after pulling teeth she was left with a total of 8 teeth on the bottom and 6 teeth on top. With a large gap between the front teeth and the molar in the back on each side the wire would not stay on. When my wife started asking questions Dr. LaCorte became angry and defensive. Two other orthodontists confirmed our fears so we canceled service with Dr. LaCorte after two scheduled appointments and did not receive a refund on $1,900 paid ($800 up front, $200 for two months and they hit our insurance for $700!). Dr. LaCorte was my children's dentist for years. One just turned 18 years old and LaCorte saw him while he was in the lower primary grades, that will give you a gage in years of service or loyalty we or at least I thought we mutually shared with each other. I recently found out that to Dr. LaCorte my children are only seen as dull pennies and not the shiny gold coins that I as a parent and I know all other parents see each and every one of their children. I feel the need to let everyone know of my experience with the office because if I don't it will be a huge injustice to those who are seeking guidance in finding the correct environment for their children. In the earlier years Dr. LaCorte was great, just as the previous reviews mentioned he was really good with my kids. I'll never forget how he was caring and made the kids feel at ease. He even picked my daughter up into his arms and carried her out to me after sedation but I'm not sure if the tides turned as his business grew larger or as my children aged is what made his demeanor change. He spends less time per child and his office manger is a horror! I have a daughter who has a 4.6 grade point average in school. She is very active in student council, NHS, sports, and it's a struggle to get her to miss school. She has a cavity that needs to get repaired, we missed 2 appointments one I believe 8/18 and the other was a couple of months before that one. I was told they wouldn't be able to see her for the tooth repair, I apologized, yes was upset but told them I understood and would take her somewhere else. It was my understanding she was not going to be seen for the cavity - only. I was asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment for her six month cleaning which was completed 9/18 and she was scheduled for her next cleaning for 3/2019. They also serviced her siblings with their six month cleaning and repaired her brothers front tooth- 9/18 and made appointments for 2019. The new year is here everyone makes resolutions, right, mine is my schedule. I called the office to inquire on up coming appointments and to my disbelief was told we were dropped as patients. I asked why and was told too many missed appointments. I explained that I had missed appointments for my daughter for her cavity but she was seen after the missed appointments as well as her siblings and there must be a mistake. The person on the other end didn't hear one word I said, spoke over me and no customer service skills whatsoever and I asked over and over how I was notified we were dropped but was never answered. I was put on hold a couple of times which told me that others were more important then my situation. I asked to speak to the manager and was told the person I was speaking to was the manager. I asked her for her name - she gave it. I asked her how to spell it but she refused and said she would have to call me back because she had other people ahead of me. She never called me back. I had to call her back, and was told there was no one else above her then it changed to the doctor is above her but it wouldn't change we're still dropped. Oh, except for one child who receives Orthodontist services. This office had the audacity to fire us for no apparent reason. It wasn't the missed appointments I assure you, because if it was why did they clean everyone's teeth and schedule 2019 appointments, take a $500.00 down payment for ortho plus accept $125.00 payments from 8/18 - 1/19. Ready for it? Ulterior motive?-I asked the so called professional manager if something that occurred outside of the office with one of my family members had anything to do with my children being dropped and she said no, obvious full acknowledgment that she is aware of what what was going on with personal issues of that employee, which by the way myself and my children have no involvement. I wonder if this is why this manager won't let my calls go to Dr. LaCorte. This business is supposed to be reputable, then why would the office allow a manager to hold a vendetta towards a whole family that has absolutely nothing to do with personal issues of one of their employees which by the way occurred 6 months ago. If your looking for honest, integrity and a place where you feel valued as a customer this is not the place for you. Take your business elsewhere. I canceled the child who wasn't dropped and found someone who is worthy of caring for my precious gold coin- Dr. LaCorte can stay with his deficiencies he calls managers I'm sure there is more then one coward. I am a teacher and coach in town and I am extremely disappointed in the service at this office. My two children needed sedation and my wife was ill on the day and needed to reschedule. We were told by the receptionist to call back and wait for approval. It was two months and we had no answer. We called today and were told my kids were dropped as clients. We've been going to Dr. LaCorte for over 6 years. When our son was little he refused to be examined in the dental chair, so he was examined standing in the corner as he wanted. One time Dr. LaCorte was putting on blue exam gloves and my son said, "I want him to wear purple gloves," so Dr. LaCorte put on purple gloves. As our son aged he was willing to sit in the exam chair, but only if he could sit on my lap. So, his exams, fillings, cleanings have all been done sitting in my lap. Neither of our kids have any fears of going to the dentist. Our daughter has had cavities in her front teeth for about 1.5 years. Dr. LaCorte is keeping a good eye on them, but since they don't hurt her and should fall out soon, he is not putting her through the experience of getting fillings. (He did put caps on her back teeth because those won't fall out for many, many years to come.) He was just as noninvasive with our son's chipped front tooth. It was only one tooth and it didn't hurt him. Dr. LaCorte watched the tooth. Then our son complained it hurt one day. We were able to get a same day appt. After x-rays, an exam, and questioning our son (who decided it didn't hurt afterall,) he recommended holding off on intervention. Eventually the tooth fell out and our son was spared unnecessary (expensive) intervention. I am shocked at all the pediatric dentists that refuse to allow parents in the exam room once a child turns three. How traumatizing that must be for the little kids. Parents, you have a voice. Do not let dentists bully you or your children. Select a dentist that supports parental presence. Dr. LaCorte has always been gentle and does not push lots of interventions. See him or another dentist with the same beliefs and standards. read more

I am really disappointed with this dentist. We have been going here for 3 years with two of our kids. Usually Dr La Corte says everything is ok. Then the last visit our youngest had 3 cavities. All were filled. Our oldest got sealant for the molars in July. Now it looks like she got a cavity back there. How can she get a cavity so quickly when sealants were applied 2 months before. He does not examine the teeth. Even the 3 cavities by my youngest were discovered by my wife and we told him about them. Now we will have to tell him about this next cavity. I wish i never brought my child to this dentist. He acts like he hates his job and he can be extremely rude. Most of all, he doesn't do a good job. He'll tell you that your child has perfect teeth and then at the next visit he tells your child that they have cavities. Then he insults them by saying it wouldn't be bad if they were sixty or seventy. I called to talk to him about this and he did not call me back. I requested my child's records that day. I just have to say that Dr.Lacorte is a fabulous dentist. He has worked on both of my childrens teeth for the past 12 years. He put my daughter in braces and her teeth turned out amazing. My son now needs braces and I am confident they will turn out just as good. Dr. Lacorte is amazing, and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better dentist for my children. He makes the kids feel at ease. They look forward to going to his office. From the game room, to the friendly staff the over all experince is great. read more
