Our 5 year old talking with the anesthesiologist prior to his procedure.
Jeff F.

Our pediatrician recommended Dr. LaCorte after we had some concerns about IV sedation in a office setting. Our three year old needed extensive work. Dr. LaCorte put us at ease. He has privelages at Banner and expedited the procedure. When our older son needed work as well, Dr. Lacorte provided a dedicated anesthesiologist for the procedure. I've never met a more caring, kind, and professional dentist. Him and his staff are simply amazing. We were so lucky to have found him. Thank you.

Beware dentist holds your child down while screaming in fear as fillings are placed or even for an examination. Also Dental Assistants will speak Spanish to each other in front of patients and in "lab room" gossip is no good unless you hear and understand their language then you will definitely be shocked. Being bilingual is huge here and they seem to exclude others who are not bilingual patients or other workers. A drama place behind patients and in front of patients... Remember who is paying the Dentists home mortgage and car luxury... and referring patients to a horrible Ortho as Freytag will slowly catch up for these two are wonderful "friends" =money more kids =more money and they don't use a good cleaning on kids it's all done fast using only hydrogen peroxide and water lol for kids cleaning ofc this dentist loves future fillings ... dentist buys them for 10.99 filling then has dental insurance covers the rest as a doctor and then over charges the patient like 300.00 for "time placing" and makes 300.00 on top of his out of pocket 10.00 expanse lol this place is honestly ghetto.

Tucson Smiles does allow parents in the back but they act like it is a huge inconvenience and stuck me in a very uncomfortable chair in a tight space behind an xray arm. They gave me a sheet that stated I wasn't to talk to anyone during the visit or be on my phone.. Both dentist were very nice to my kids. They truly seemed to care about their patients and did not want them to be afraid but on several occasions kids could be heard crying from the waiting room. I'd been with our previous dentist for a decade and only hear crying once and it was from a kid that was upset about getting in the chair. That isn't very reassuring when you tell me you prefer if my child goes back for their procedures alone. I had been told before we left our previous dentist that my child had a dark spot on a baby tooth but didn't recommend fixing because it wasn't yet a cavity and was due to fall out in the next year. Tucson smiles recommended filling the area anyway just in case. When I explained I'd rather just wait for areas that were not yet through the top layer for teeth that were already wiggly she got annoyed and wouldn't make eye contact. They do have TV's in the room but they keep the volume on mute which means the kids still have the drill sound. Seems like that would be an advantage to having the sound on. Maybe provide headphones?

I asked for a copy for the x-rays. i already payed close to 400 , which I payed for during the visit. I was told they could sent the x-rays to the new dentist but to send the SAME information to me would be 42$. absolute crap. They just wanna know where I'm taking my kids to. I would not recommend this dentist. if there policy is to rip me off 42$ over what email the file is sent to. what other fees and policy's would they not tell me/you about. BEWARE..... NOT ACCREDITED WITH BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

The dentist is very condescending and rude…read more When I set up the first appointment, I asked if we could schedule the time to treat her preexisting small cavity with SDF after the initial consultation. They stated that the first appointment was for 1 hour so there should be plenty of time and it was the last appointment before the lunch break. It was $125 for the dentist to look at her tooth which I already knew was a small cavity as we were just switching from a previous dentist because I thought it would be better to use a "pediatric dentist". They seemed pissed that I did not want x rays (which she clearly didn't need). After looking at her tooth, I asked if they had time to do the SDF treatment (which takes 10-15 minutes max once her mouth is open). The dentist said "we don't have time in our schedule". I said "Okay, it's just a long drive for us." He rudely said "Well. Wish we were closer to your house but... we're not." Next day we went back for the SDF treatment, I asked for him to apply the fluoride varnish on a tooth that had the start of a cavity. He said, "I looked at her teeth yesterday, there is no cavity there." I said, "okay, do you mind taking a look?" He said "Do you think it changed in a day?" Her previous dentist had already mentioned there was the start of a cavity on that tooth and you can clearly see the dark spots from the plaque. He is just arrogant and rude. He did the SDF treatment, did not apply fluoride to the tooth I asked, and dropped the SDF on her face so now there is a 3 inch mark on her cheek that will take 2-3 weeks to come off. There also is no play area for toddlers while they wait, only screens everywhere... I do not know how this guy has such good reviews but he must have paid a lot of money for them because they can't be real.

I called the office to let them know that she was going to be late, and the lady said they had a 10 minute grace period, but anything after that would need to be rescheduled. When she got there, my daughter said that the parking lot and the main lobby were empty, but the lady she spoke to said that she would need to reschedule her appointment and pay the $50 cancellation fee. Apparently, because I had used my one-time forgiveness cancellation fee after 15 plus years at this business with three kids, the lady was not willing to let my daughter get away without paying up. She even asked my daughter if I should be called to pay for it. I am not happy with any of this. The first cancellation fee was not because of my daughter, who just started taking herself to appointments, and shouldn't she be extended the "grace fee" as a person who is just taking herself to the dentist?

I let them know we were not comfortable with full sedation and they terminated his care because we don't agree with their treatment plan. My son was overstimulated on his last visit. There was a child screaming in the other room and that set the tone for his experience. So, now he's basically traumatized. It wasn't an issue of pain, it was an issue of impatience and lack of care of a child who is overstimulated from the kid screaming and all the stuff going on in his mouth. It felt like a slap in the face, being told they couldn't see him anymore. It took me a few hours to process. This response to a parent being legitimately concerned, she even stated that it's a hard decision to make, is appalling and unprofessional. There are thousands of kids who need special care and who, for medical reasons, are unable to be fully sedated. Our final experience here has been disappointing. Although, my son is quite happy he doesn't have to go back there ever again.
