This 4 star review is based solely on the taste of the burger and the politeness of my waitress. The menu items are all way over priced but that is the norm while at any Atlantic City Casino. The restaurant seems dated to me, its the first time I've been to the Golden Nugget, so I can't say for certain that it is dated or if its newly remodeled. It was clean and they were well staffed. I didn't order anything exciting but I was impressed with the freshness and taste. Honestly, when my Burger with Cheddar Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, and Red Onion was served I wasn't expecting to enjoy it by the look of the Burger. As the old saying goes, "Looks can be deceiving" and all though this Burger isn't going to win any beauty contest it was fresh, decent size, and enjoyable. It comes with potato chips and as long as chips aren't stale they are fine with me, they weren't stale so all good with the chips. I got a side green salad with balsamic dressing. I've had a lot better but it wasn't bad. This may not read like a 4 star review but as I mentioned as far a choices go for a quick meal here at Golden Nugget, if you like a burgers this should please you. read more

Not a fan. They offer a $7 all you can eat pancake special and a $10 egg special and this place besides the little coffee shop is your only breakfast option in the hotel so your stuck. The $5 coffee that was the most acidic thing I've ever drank in my life destroyed my stomach for the rest of the day, the breakfast potatoes were cold and my husband was served limp fat filled bacon. The eggs are not real, definitely powdered or liquid substitutes. We roughed it and skipped breakfast in order to not eat here again during our trip. read more

I went during restaurant week and this restaurant didn't disappoint. I reviewed several restaurant week menus, and this restaurant had some great options. I went for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla as an appetizer, Fried Flounder Sandwich as my entree, and the Triple Chocolate Cake for dessert. The food came out pretty fast. The Quesadilla was good, I like the fact that I didn't have to ask for them to be crispy. The flounder was so big that it barely fit on the bread. For my chocolate cake lovers, the cake was delicious and cured my sweet tooth. Overall, I had a great experience. That was my first time going into the Golden Nugget Casino to have lunch, and it didn't disappoint. My server Rosy was very attentive. read more

I had dinner here for my last night in Atlantic City. What a mistake I found a very helpful server, accommodating and friendly but the food was horrible. The green beans were cold. The baked potato was small and burnt in the salmon with the lemon sauce didn't work. The cheesecake was excellent. I asked for sweet tea, regular tea don't know if it was my mistake or he didn't hear me but I remember him asking sweet or unsweet and I know I said sweet. The buns were warm, which was nice, but it didn't save the meal I do recommend, I do recommend be careful what you order what you order. The name makes this place sound fancier than what it is. It's basically the most obvious restaurant inside the Golden Nugget Casino. You eat there because you just want convenience and nothing else. You pay higher prices for convenience, too, and not for food quality. The cream of chicken florentine was probably the best item, but you could tell it came out of a can. The Mandarin Chicken salad had a weird taste to it. The chicken had fake grill marks. The oranges were out of a can and not freshly peeled. I remember eating there for breakfast years ago, and I recall the service being efficient with mediocre food then, too. The only redeeming value was the efficient and polite service, which we both enjoyed. But that just goes to the theme of it being convenient and nothing else. read more

Staying in the area in Brigantine we decided to check out the golden nugget and grab some breakfast. We weren't crazy hungry to go to the buffet, so this was the better option. The menu has the classic breakfast delights from eggs, bacon and sausage to sweeter options of waffles and French toast. I got the hot chocolate which was reminiscent of the Swiss miss packets that most of us grew up on with whipped cream topping. I got the classic eggs Benedict that came with home fries and garnished with an orange slice and strawberry. The seasoning was quite lacking in flavor and it definitely needed a little bit of salt and pepper to make the dish not bland. The eggs were cooked perfectly since the yolk was runny. The home fries were seasoned just right and was delicious. It was just okay, but we had much better breakfast in the area. read more

I'm looking at these reviews and if you don't like their breakfast, skip it! I came here for lunch and it was amazingg. The portions are sooo huge, they really give you the bang for your buck. The buffalo wings was so good. Tip: get the buffalo sauce ON the wings and not on the side (get blue cheese on the side). The chicken pot pie was creamy and the pastry was still crispy! I was worried it would get soggy but it didn't! I was surprised that it wasn't actually a "pie", the chicken and stuff wasn't INSIDE the pastry, it was just on the bottom, but that's okay. The chocolate cake was HUGEEEE, we dreaded getting two of them. We ended up bringing so much extra food home. I would come here again :) read more

We were going to do buffet for breakfast but opted to check this place out since it was right outside. The price is about the same for buffet but I don't eat THAT much so the food I ordered was exactly what I would have eaten inside the buffet. Service was very friendly and we were seated at a comfortable booth. I ordered the jackpot and was very happy with it. It comes with eggs, bacon, pork and turkey sausage, homefries, pancakes and toast. Sounds like heaven to me. It's exactly everything I needed in a small amount. Bacon was perfectly cooked the way I like it - crispy without overdoing it. Homefries were seasoned well and just the right amount...not taking up half your plate like other diners. Pancakes were perfect. Toast was nicely toasted. The dish even came with a small skewer of fruit. I'll take it! Hubby ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, great dining experience here and if I was in this casino again, I'd get breakfast here. read more

Michael Patrick's Brasserie sounds much better than it actually is. Sure, double first named joints suggest a level of cool sophistication a single name can't attain, but that isn't the case here. Located on the main level of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, and the breakfast option recommended by the front desk for being the only hot coffee available before 8 am, we sat down for a quick petit dejeune before the conference at Harrah's started at 9. The room was garish in gold and orange trim, but somehow appropriate for a casino. Service was friendly and knew what they were dealing with in this fly by night transient town. We ordered oatmeal and the cinnamon roll french toast. The hot cereal came with a small cup of raisins and another of brown sugar. After mixing, it was as good as any instant oatmeal can be expected to be. The fry bread was dense and uber sweet, and nothing like a flakey lightly frosted cinnabun would be. It was practically inedible. It was obvious there hadn't been a chef in the kitchen since the menu was set and the cooking diagram posted on the wall. No one checked the dishes leaving the kitchen, nor sampled the product to see if the food was as intended. It was cooking by numbers by someone who didn't bother to read. Not good even for free, and it wasn't. We really liked Golden Nugget, but Michael Patrick really needs to be reimagined. read more

This is probably the most reasonably priced restaurant of the bunch at Golden Nugget (with the exception of Bread & Bean). After a long drive to Atlantic City, the hubby and I decided to give this place a try since they serve breakfast. The food was not fantastic. Service was decent and prompt. We found ourselves longing for home cooked breakfast. The eggs were defineatly powdered and my husband's pork sausage was terrible. I had the French toast as recommended by the waitress. The serving size was great, but the French toast taste like it was microwaved- it was edible, but not good. While dining, we wondered if they were just grabbing the food from the buffet next door and throwing on people's plates. Bottom Line: This is not a good place to eat. Two glasses of orange juice set us back $10. The glasses were tiny. I would expect this in NYC, but at the Golden Nugget, really? Breakfast ended up coming to $46 (incl tax + $6.00 tip) was not worth the price. Furthermore, this just reassures me that while staying at the Golden Nugget, we won't be dining here again. You're better off just grabbing something on location from Starbucks. We are miniature foodies and don't mind paying for a quality meal, but Michael Patricks is not the place! read more

As I work in the area, I have been to Michael Patrick's more than a few times. I won't be returning. I take food out, and not only are the prices really very high, there is a $2.00 charge to take out! In addition, and more importantly, my order is ALWAYS messed up. There is, not kidding, always something missing. You can look quickly before you leave the restaurant, but you really have to open the container and look into your food. This is absolutely unacceptable for the money I pay and the professionalism I expect. This is a Casino establishment owned by a RESTAURANT owner. I would add the hostesses are friendly and accomodating, but that's not enough for my hard earned money. read more

We dine at the Michael Patrick for breakfast the day we were heading back home. The Hostess and Waiter were friendly, the restaurant was located at the Golden Nugget, which was beautiful, and the service was quick. We all had the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with whipped cream, some with bacon (which was good) and some with turkey sausage. I also had Hot Chocolate which was good. The French Toast was a little overcooked, and they did give me sausage when I wanted bacon (which are the same price as each other, and the waiter was nice enough to provide me with what I order, with no extra charge). Still, other than that, I definitely recommended this place. read more

Seems like every casino in AC has one of these: casual sit-down restaurant with a few creative touches, a bit overpriced, and slow service. Michael Patrick's is said option at the Golden Nugget. The food isn't bad (and, for the surroundings, not insanely expensive either). A cheddar cheeseburger came out the requested medium rare with a nice bit of char and the side of fries were crisp. Nothing special but not botched, either. You can do better if you're willing to pay the price. Otherwise, this is the place for dinner in the Golden Nugget if you're looking to drop money on the games rather than a meal. read more

Every casino has one of these restaurant types. The one that has 'everything'. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc., etc. Usually the food is decent, and Michael Patrick's is no different. However, this place needs a touch of something that I can't quite put my finger on. Right outside the casino floor, Michael Patrick's is certainly a comfortable place, with high ceilings and comfortable tables/chairs. I went recently and the restaurant was a bit quiet with only 3 or 4 tables taken in the early evening. Water was brought out on request, and one glass had something in it, maybe a bug, maybe just a speck of something, anyway, it was replaced. We ordered a cheeseburger and turkey club sandwich. Ketchup and mayonnaise were brought out first, and about a half hour later, finally came the food. No complaints on the food, but why so long for a simple order? The last time I ate here, I remember an equally long wait. There is a flat screen TV strangely placed right in front of the hostess stand, so the staff sort of stands there facing the screen and chatting. Maybe it's not busy so it's OK. I don't know, the energy seems a bit off in the restaurant in general and that leads to a so-so experience. The staff is nice and they do everything they are supposed to, but maybe management needs to encourage them to be more proactive and interested. I don't dislike Michael Patrick's, I think it has decent food with nice people working there. But with so much competition in Atlantic City for your dining dollar, I feel they can do better. read more

I thought I wrote a review of this place, but apparently I started it and forgot about it. I don't have much to say about this place other than...well, it's bad. The prices aren't horrible, but is it worth any price for crappy food? We went there twice, and here is what I had: Buffalo chicken strips appetizer: wasn't great, wasn't horrible....but took like a half an hour to get to me. Really? There were like two other tables in the place, come on. French dip: I was craving the french dip after I saw it on the menu the day before, so I ordered it. I asked to substitute tater tots for french fries...she said absolutely! I received the plate, and saw it had french fries....cold...mushy...seemingly two day old french fries. I politely asked about the tater tots, and she remembered and went and got me a side dish. Those were great! Clearly they were freshly cooked due to the immediate nature. My sandwich, however....was gross. Lots of roast beef, but the bun was soggy and old, and I swear...both bottoms of my sandwich were half missing. As if they ripped a bottom in a half, and attempted to use one half as the bottom for both sides. Bizarre. The people with me liked their food OK enough. But again, both times it took way too long for food when there was almost nobody else in the place. Add mediocre to bad food on top of that, and you have a waste of a restaurant. When I got there, I thought oh nice....diner type food. What I soon found out is that it is diner type food, but of lesser quality than most diners I've been to. Normally I am not THIS harsh, but bad service + bad food + a supposedly nice restaurant in a nice hotel in AC = come on. You couldn't do better? Nobody cares to correct this? I vote skip, but then again I am the idiot that went twice, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me. read more

The service here was absolutely terrible. It takes way to long to get the attention of a waitress or server while there's only a total of three customers in the place. We had to go through three different people just to order at 7:37 AM. Which is no excuse for the slow and unresponsive service. The food is not bad for the price. Very affordable when it is matched up to restaurants outside of a casino. In regards of the quality of the food. It was mediocre, expected quality of a restaurant inside a casino. If I had more restaurant choices to eat breakfast next time I would not return to this place. If you plan on eating quickly. This place is NOT RECOMMENDED. They take their time preparing the plate. If an order of Two farm eggs, ham, toast, and potatoes takes roughly 40 minutes. I couldn't imagine the service I'd get if there were more than the three customer at the store at the time. Service 1/10 Quality of food. 5/10 Cleanliness of the restaurant. 7/10 Overall a 2.5/10 MAX for this ridiculous service. read more

One of the worst experiences ever! We came here around 9:30 on a Thursday night after a show. There were 10 of us just looking for a quick bite to eat. When we were seated, our server was very animated and suggestive, basically telling us what to order for apps. "Nachos? Get some nachos for the table? You want jalapeños on the side, right? Just one order? I think you need more". He also told us to put our order in ASAP, because the kitchen was "starting to get busy". There were 5 other tables seated in the whole place... We waited 45 minutes for a lousy and cold plate of nachos and some mozzarella sticks and quesdillas. I think our food came about an hour after we ordered it. And we're talking basic things that we ordered - burgers, sandwiches and omelets. Nothing tasted good enough to justify the long wait. Also, we were never offered more drinks, and one member of the party waited about 20 minutes just for his Coke. We also asked for more plates and silverware for the apps and never received them. The redone casino is very nice, but it's too bad that their fast and casual eating establishment really misses the mark in all areas. read more
