I go here for scrapbook supplies & they have lots of that here. I really like that they sell all kinds of stickers. My favorite part about this store are the dollar bins. I can allways find something like stamps or ink pads to buy in here. read more

Michael's framing department is a scam. I walked into their framing department not knowing much about the cost of a simple frame, and they wanted to charge me $300 + to get one poster and one picture framed, and that was with the discount (it would have cost $600 without the discount)! I opted to get a the picture framed, but changed my mind within 24 hours. I called to cancel, and rude agent told me they could only cancel "custom parts." No one followed up with me and I later got a call that my order was done, and an offer to talk to me if I had any questions about the framing. Bottom line. I framed the same kind of picture for less than $8, and paid Michael's $90 because they wouldn't cancel my order within 24 hours (it took them three weeks to process my order). Come on Michaels! Enough scamming. read more

Michaels is usually my last ditch stop in case I can't find an item anywhere else. The staff is knowledgable but they're typically at the cashiers so none are around the floor to help you out. They mark-up the prices so if you don't use the 40% off coupon, its a complete ripoff. And when they have a less than a 40% off 'sale', its actually a markup since you can't use the 40% off coupon. We wanted to buy some wedding stuff and it was 20% off all spring long. It was done purposely so we couldn't use the normal coupons. They have a wide selection but its really messy inside so its a little hard to find. Also, there's no way to find out inventory on specific items unless you call in. The website is super archaic. More than once, I had to do multiple runs to multiple Michaels in order to get the 'savings' when I'm buying bulk items. I'd rather pay an everyday-low-price place like Target than jump through the hoops Michael's is known for. read more

This store used to be good a few years ago but it seems they are going downhill. The store is always a mess, unorganized and it is difficult to walk thru all the clutter. The shelves are not stocked well and always appear as if they just had a huge sale and are waiting for their next shipment. I bought a scoring board for scrap booking and it was supposed to come with a bone folder but it wasn't until I threw away the packaging that I realized the folder was missing. Whatever. That's no big deal. I still had my reciept. I realize things happen so I figured I could just go back and they could give me a folder from a complete package. I admit I got the item at the Union City store but it's the same company so what's the big deal. When I got to the front and explained to the lady what happened she became very snotty and basically said it was my fault for buying the item and there is nothing she can do. She called the manager up and I had to explain my story again. They talked to eachother in front of me as if I was inconveniencing them. The manager ended up giving me the folder out of a different package as she told me that the Union City store shouldn't have sold me them item if it was missing a piece and that next time I will have to return it to the store I got it from since it wasn't their fault. Both women were really rude for no reason. I wasn't mad or trying to argue with them. I work in retail so I understand how returns can be a pain to deal with sometimes but you don't have to be rude about it. As I walked out of the store I thought about what the manager said about returning something back to the store I bought it from. Well lady, that's no problem for me because I won't ever be returning anything to your store because I will go out of my way to shop somewhere else. The Union City store is cleaner and less crowded anyways. read more

Daisy, the store manager, was over-the-top helpful when we walked in to have our paintings custom framed, which we had never done before. Daisy walked us through what could be an extremely complex set of choices/decisions with ease and expertise. She knew how to cut to the chase, which was exactly what we needed. She listened attentively to our situation, and responded appropriately to the perspective we needed to learn about custom framing. We ended up having one custom framed and the second we matted and framed ourselves. Thank you to Daisy and for Michael's for being smart enough to put someone as competent as she in a managerial position. Kudos to Daisy. Needless to say, they have my return business. read more

Unpainted wood products? Check, check, check! Instructional art books? Yep...check! Paint, pencils, drawing pads, brushes, mediums, canvas ? What part of "CHECK" do you not understand? Baking supplies? Checkity-check-check! Be aware however that many of the items here are overpriced. But convenience has it's price right? Well, not so fast. If you plan to buy something at Michaels, be sure to check their website for coupons. They often offer coupons valid for up to 50% off any item and also have coupons for deals on framing. If there's nothing on the website, just google "Michaels Coupon", there's almost ALWAYS one in circulation. Additionally, when you buy something the receipt will usually have a coupon on it. Now you're in the know. So get yourself a coupon and head over to Michaels and let your creativity flow. read more

i can almost always find what i am looking for at this location. i come here for jewelry supplies. the selection of findings are decent and inexpensive compared to local shops but the bead selection is dull. its a great place if you want to make simple jewelry and don't want to spend too much. i've never had any problems with service basically because i never really have to ask for help. i did get a poster mounted on some foam board once and the price wasn't too bad. it came out okay but it warped within a few months, most likely due to the fact that i live in a small condo and the dryer turns my place into the amazon. i know for a fact i will shop here again. read more

When I was planning my wedding, I spent more times during lunch hauling ass to the nearest Michaels to see what else I could DIY. Their coupons are great! This particular location is closest to home and I've never had any problems. Maybe because I work in retail too, but I certainly don't mind waiting in a line that takes some time to get through. I don't mind that the store is a bit disorganized due to customer's being careless and leaving things around or because there is just not enough people to staff the store. Retail companies are really brutal to their employees at store level. I always find what I need and even when I do need to ask a question I always find someone helpful. Great selection of scrapbooking stuff! I also love their paint brushes since I use some for makeup application, trust me they're just as good as high end makeup brushes found at department stores at a fraction of the price. read more

This store has a problem with signage. Product is mixed with other items yet they have no spot or label for all the items and they say that the computer is right. When I pointed out that they need correct signage it went over there head. I have experienced this problem many times before at this Fremont location. I gave this location many chances and now I will take my business elsewhere. read more

horrible customer service ...I was there christmas eve... i went to pick up some last minute things for my daughter.. as the stuff i had ordered online didn't arrive.. ... the stuff i picked up rang up a different price ( i wish they have scanners in store ). so i asked her to void the transaction and as i was walking away she mumbled and Don't come back... i asked her What did you say? she said i was wishing you Merry christmas... which she wasn't... i tried to find the manger and in the end i was directed to some make shift Manager who said she'll look into it. very very rude cashier... don't want to ever to there again... read more
