I feel like over the years, this area and store feels smaller with how big the community has gotten. Located next to a dollar tree and Big 5 (as well as a big lots, Marshall, Chase Bank, Firestone, and so many others) this Michaels has lots of in stock product and I can usually find what I need. read more

My Wife would live in Michael's, if they would let her. I will admit it. I like Michael's also. I found a couple cool bar items that fit Small Mouth Mason Jars. For less than $5.00. One came with a gasket but of course, the lid I tried first Did Not have a gasket and spilled precious vodka on the counter. That's an easy fix. We didn't even get half way through the store before it was time to go. (We were really there for our Son. He needed drawing supplies.) The store was packed with people but nobody was pushy. The staff were all busy but helpful. The shelves all stocked up. I like how there are little craft scenes set up to give you ideas for your next project. I wish I would have taken pictures but I was running around like a little kid. My Wife too. lol. Our conversation mostly sounded like, Hey. Ooh check this out. Whaaat. That's cool. I want this/that. You know what this would be great for? Ect. Ect. We already plan on checking out This Michael's again. If for nothing else but to walk around this massive store. read more

I love waiting 20 minutes in line just to have the cashier treat me like garbage. Btw this review is based off my last three trips. Tried to give this store many chances but each time I'm met with rudeness by every cashier. From my experience every question is either treated like it's stupid or hostile if it's in regards to a coupon. Maybe management is bad and that's why all the workers are miserable, who knows. Was in there the other day to get a custom Matt made for my picture frame 8x10. I hate to say it was a disaster,there was an older lady taking my order ,she first told me the Matt was $12 ,then another customer came up to the counter that needed help with an existing order the sales rep asked me if I wouldn't mind waiting for a little she would knock off $2.00 and make it an even $10.I said ok she finished with the other customer and came back to me.I selected the color of the Matt I wanted , she went to ring it up in the til, and then said the price was $15. I told her she quoted me $10, of course she deny that, said she couldn't do anything about the pricing that's what it was in the computer. I suggest you check your pricing before quoting it to a customer and then promising a different price I left without buying anything pissed off, I felt like I was at a used car lot on 82,nd salesman tells you one price for a car I get in the office it is a different price and the salesman says there's nothing they can do about it after promising you a different price. I was going to give them two stars, but I decided to increase it to three stars because the cashier was nice and gave me a discount because I waited in line for so long. I waited in line for so long because there were only two cashiers, and the line was huge. Also it was very very hot around the checkout area. I feel sorry for the cashiers. It is that time of year I hit Michaels more than usual, with Halloween approaching, so much to do, so little time. They have a huge Halloween section in Gresham. I like this location, it is easy to find what I need, compared to the one on 82nd in Clackamas, that seems like it has super tight isles and the lines there are always long. I should say they have been getting like that at this Michaels lately, now. Prices here are average of a craft store and the coupons they let you use on your smart phone are so handy, since I forget to clip mine most of the time. read more

Betsy, who works at this location is one of the most genuinely sweet and helpful people I have ever encountered in the retail industry. The prices here are very reasonable, and they always have coupons and sales (the Michael's App is great for coupons) . We tried other craft and fabric stores in the area only to be disappointed with their coupon 'scams' and dreary employees. Michael's is by far, much more pleasant and interesting. The super friendly and helpful staff made my experience great, and got us excited about all of our future craft endeavors. read more

I had checked the website and the item i wanted was listed as being in the store. When i got there i asked an associate, she told me they didn't have it. I went back to the website and the site said i could buy it online and pickup at their store. So i asked the associate if that would mean its in stock. She told me i "should just try it and see". Went in this past week and left my paper ad at home so asked one of the employees, a male , if they had any extra ads in the store .Curt answer was no, we don't put them in the store so go on-line . If Michaels puts out paper ads, why not carry them in the store for those that either forget them or don't do computers. I don't download every store's coupons in case I "might" use them. I would like to say that I had a good experience coming in here, being the art nerd that I am. But to be honest, my loyalty lies with Craft Warehouse. Better attitude, and better selection. I just don't get a helpful vibe in here at all. I DID find what I was looking for, but it felt like pulling teeth to get it out of the locked area and paid for, and the demeanor of the guys who work here is off-putting. My community of art-folks, be it crafty decoupage folks, knitters, painters, or prisma nerds like myself, only want to push one another forward and be helpful. If you're going to work at an art/craft store, act like the people who come in here. If you have no shared/common interest, at least learn to fake it and hide your disenchantment with your job just a bit better. I get that retail can be hard, but not my circus, not my monkeys. Show up and act like you're not a douche, please. Craft warehouse is full of enthusiastic artists, or at least full of helpful people who enjoy watching those creations take place. I cannot speak for all Michaels, but this one fails by my standard where service is involved, and I will only go here if CW absolutely does not have what I need from now on. read more

Tonight's experience at this Michaels has been the worst ever. I tried to exchange a $6 dollar item. Never ever did I have problems exchanging something but I guess there is a first for everything. This store wouldn't take the item back because all I had on me was my resident alien card. Now I had to go back home to get a passport. Lucky me that I have a current one. All this hassle for $6. I have been collecting signed memorabilia from my favorite band for a couple of years. I had 15 pieces I've been wanting to have framed but I knew it was going to cost a fortune. I thought I would try to frame them myself so I stopped in to check out prices and see if there were any good deals. I was immediately lost. Naturally everything I had was an odd size. The young man at the custom framing counter could tell I was in distress. He asked if he could help me. I told him I was on a budget but I wanted to display my collection. He asked if he could take a look. He laid all of my prized mementos out on the counter and helped me pick out the right frames and mats to suit my babies needs. But wait, it gets better! This guy (I wish I got his name) also took out a few of my favorites and had them custom framed for me. He's absolutely brilliant. He matched everything so perfectly. Definitely a master of his craft and the very best part of all... less than $230 TOTAL, for EVERYTHING! I don't usually write reviews but this guy is so deserving. This Michael's continues to be the worst craft store I've ever been to. To the degree where I would rather go to joanns even if they don't have sales for that week. The cashiers are rude, impersonable, and just don't give a crap about the customers or their well-being. I had asked a cashier if she'd known where their fidget spinners came from since the ones made outside the U.S.A. are deadly to children and adults from the lead and other contents. The cashiers response? Oh well. WOW! If I had been a manager she would have been terminated immediately. The other cashier... I have a fractured back and had went to the dollar tree next door for some party items. Two bags that aren't heavy but they were to my newly injured back. I had tried to ask the cashier if I could place my bags near the counter for the relief off my spine and as a security measure to be sure I wasn't suspected of theift. She snapped at me and said hold on. Only as I was walking away did she seem to have time to address my question. Thank God I'm an honest person anyone else could literally walk out of this store with a shopping cart of stolen items and it wouldn't have been noticed. This visit was Friday the 9th around 345pm. Terrible customer service! Went to this store for their door buster deal and they had buy one get two free but there was no price listed for the item. I waited in line to ask the cashier at the register how much it would be. She scanned the book and said $8. I confirmed it was buy one for $8 and the other two are free and she said yes. Then my sister and I took over a half an hour picking which we wanted and making sure it was in a multiple of three. Again we waited in line and then when we got to the front the price was super Hugh ($20 for one not $8). The cashier was not sure what was going on and called over her manager Hazel. The manager was very rude and even when I explained I was told otherwise did not even bother apologizing or acknowledging the frustrating situation they caused. We said we no longer wanted them and they just responded "that's ok!" We will not be shopping here again. read more

Do Not give them your email address unless you want to be inundated with emails all hours of the day and night! In October, I made a purchase and at checkout the clerk ask me for my email address - I made the huge mistake of giving it to her. The emails are non- stop and have spent the last 30 days trying to get off their list. Alerts come in the middle of the night- yes, I could shut off my alerts but need them on for an emergency team that I am on. read more

Horrible customer service! I've been in customer service for years and when you get a unhappy customer, you make it right, or at least apologize when you give the wrong information! Don't expect to get the right answer regarding sale items, even when you ask a sales associate OR a manager!! Just read the fine print on the sale tags! AND beware of items placed under the wrong price tag and single items having mutable prices. Not a good idea to lose customers who USED to spend tons of money there.
