I see this restaurant on my way to church on Sundays and its always packed. My boyfriend and I decided to try it today. Upon arrival, no parking, no problem. We walked in, got a table and then placed our order. We ordered a polish sandwich and patty melt with half onion rings and half fries. The polish sandwich on sourdough was good. Lots of flavor with the pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. The fries and onion rings were decent. The patty melt didnt have any onions and the cheese was overbearing. It was just okay. Overall, food was decent.

    Good light and it's clean

Very busy local burger place with the usual food breakfast lunch dinner with a remodeled interior after a fire a few years ago. Place is clean and with a lot of staff unfortunately the food is not very good this time it just didn't sit well $68 for lunch for my crew meat was ok veggies were ok the French fries were soggy and the thing that really was upsetting was the bread on all the burgers was hard not toasted crunchy it was hard terrible that a cook would fill that and still serve it .

Second time here! Honestly can't beat the quality and portions for the price. First time I got a cheeseburger meal 5 of 5. All my coworkers were raving about the chilli here. Staff here is really nice and the place is pretty clean and spacious. So this time I went with the large chilli cheese fries. Honesty some of the best fries I've had in a very long time. So glad this place is next to my work. I'll be back again

Ordered delivery with absolutely no regrets. My food arrived still semi hot which was a very satisfying realization. Never had Michael's Super Burgers but based on the quality and freshness of my Double 1/4 lb Super Burger w/cheese Lg Onion Rings and Chicken Taco. Ai will certainly be heading back. My burger was not only flavorful but fresh and filling. My Onion Rings were not overly battered or over fried. They hit perfectly which is why ai will go again, (Love Onion Rings). My Chicken Taco rounded out the experience with a perfect score for flavor freshness and over all just a good taco with all the bells and whistles that held its own. Plenty of flavor fresh vegetables and tender chopped Chicken seasoned well. With a good sauce to top it off. Gratitude and give thanks Michael's Cooks and Staff. Just made a new fan and customer. And my apologies for the already half eaten pics of food and no pic of the taco. Was a little busy. Next time for certain.

Fries were undercooked. Burger was good but nothing special. The service was quick. You have to pay attention because the menu is on the wall so it's not easy to see I did drive-through and it was pretty quick even though I didn't order before I came up the staff was nice enough not a problem. I don't think I would make go out of my way to come here, but I wouldn't hear again.

I ordered it wet with red and green

Their carne asada burrito is bomb!! It's different because they use grilled onions. But it's probably the best in town. I think they use carne ranchera because it tastes just like it.

Came down to Michael's for breakfast and went through the drive-thru. To enter their drive thru you have to enter their lot from the Slauson driveway and you'll find the speaker against the cinder block wall at the back of the parking lot. Decided to try out their sausage breakfast burrito. It's not a huge hulking burrito like nearby Tams, but it's very flavorful and the salsa they pack on the side is tangy and spicy. This definitely hits the spot for breakfast. Also, they serve a solid bowl of menudo Friday to Sundays!

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. There were NO customers as we entered the restaurant, perhaps we came in rather late, an hour before closing. Nonetheless, considering there's no one inside the place, the service was aloof, distant and not attentive. As staff were going home, the two waitresses did not check on us for refill of coffee and water. When we paid the bill and generously tipped, we said, "bye!", the waitress was seating with her phone glued to her face. The food was decent. I ordered the "House full French Toast", and it is loaded with sliced strawberries and bananas, and drowned in chocolate drizzles. The brioche toasts were a tad dried and spongy but well coated with eggs. Delicious still. My other half ordered a Spanish omelette; it was good. We both got a little queasy in the tummy afterward. The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
