The waitstaff was super all night! They were all so very attentive to me and all my guests. The food was excellent They accommodated me in every way. Michealangelos has to be one of my favorite pizzerias on Long Island. As any Italian will tell you, a pizza shouldn't be messed about with. Here at Michaelangelos they do not play! They have a variety of pizzas, but my personal favorite would be the buffalo chicken. Michealangelos also has an amazing bar in the back followed by an amazing restaurant. So whether you chose to sit at a table or at the bar either way your getting the best service provided. I prefer to sit at the bar & socialize with the bartender, the staff is truly amazing. read more

Grabbed dinner here last night. Sausage parm hero was awesome. Service was pretty quick and the sit down dining area was really nice. Never knew it was back there or as spacious as it was. Would be nice to have some local beers, and definitely to have some on tap. To me that is a must have. Free garlic knots were a great surprise as well! read more

Went out for a late dinner with a friend, decided to it Michelangelo's. What a great choice! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the bartender Paul, who was very accommodating during our entire stay. I ordered a dirty martini and he made it just to my liking! We decided to split a "slice of heaven" or what they call a chicken parmesan slice. And when Paul brought it out, he even had the kitchen cut it in half since he knew we were sharing. (its the little things people) Our salads and entrees came out in a timely matter, but never feeling rushed like I had to swallow my bowl of salad whole because they are trying to clear your plate before your done chewing. I ask what type of red wines they had and he suggested a cabernet sauvignon that was just plain amazing to say the least! All in all If I could give 10 stars I would, the food the atmosphere, the servers/ bartender, and everyone in-between made a simple night out, into a memorable experience. ok I have been here many, many times. I no longer live in NY but when I am back to visit I usually eat here. I have always been please but frankly this time I was a little disappointed. We had a party of 11 and a few of us were considered I guess you would call "regulars" Our experience wasn't the greatest. The salads which were always a big hit were skimpy and one guest didn't get any dressing. No big deal I guess? We really had trouble getting our water glasses refilled. Ok 1 waiter 11 people I understand but the Maitre D who offers fresh pepper to all takers I'm sure could have picked up the slack. We ordered a couple of dessert and when Jose brought one of them we informed him it was the wrong one. He said he didn't make a mistake and that the lava cake would take 20 minutes? I live in Mattituck and run a food business of my own there. I think this eatery deserves more than the reviews it's received. They're a small chain out on the east end and they have a definite niche. Each one has a bit of a different spin on pizza as the chefs are different at each location. The Mattituck location is deceptive because the front is the paradigm of the neighborhood pizzeria, but the dining room behind it is very inviting. The pros are that food and ambience are solid. They're not winning any Michelin stars, but it's solid, good, neighborhood Italian food. Portions are ample and satisfying. Cons are not terrible, but inexperienced young help doing their best is a slight negative. All in all though, when we're too busy to take on walk-ins we often recommend them, and we dine there ourselves several times a year. I don't think a five star is warranted, but I feel very solid four star is appropriate. Bob H read more

I stopped by this restaurant on my way to the ferry. I wanted to get some dinner to go. I ordered spaghetti with sausage and a salad. The cook made a point about telling me it would take 15 min. b/c he makes it fresh. When the food was done he rang me up, and I was surprised to see my salad covered with olives. Not the end of the world, but not my favorite. Then I got charged $2.50 for a 12 oz. Pepsi. Once I was in the car I noticed a strange smell. It was the old food smell. I was surprised and started to look for a source other than my dinner. Nope it was my food. The spaghetti was over cooked. The salad which I was told was dressed, was not. The marinara was completely without taste I actually threw out all of the food, and had to buy another dinner. I had wanted to get a sandwich at Wendy's next door, but they close at 3. Its not fair to leave a bad review at this location but I cannot seem to leave a review for the opening of the Riverhead location. What a train wreck. First of all, the facility was very well done and beautiful. We went there on their opening day and its was extremely dissappointing. My wife ordered a pasta dish with eggplant. It came minus the eggplant. When she tasted the pasta which looked good, it tasted like some sort of plastic or bleach. It was not edible. I ordered the Lasagna Rollitini with sausage. The sausage was horrible and not italian sausage. Ate the lasagna but left the bad sausage on the plate. Thats two meals that were not edible. Had two draft beers, which were nice and cold, but at $9 a glass, that was excessive. I will go there again and try the pizza, if thats also bad, I will never return. read more

For a quick slice of buffalo chicken pizza before a movie, it's great. For the best pizza in town? Not the spot. Granted, I've never eaten in the dining room so maybe the rest of the restaurant is good, but it's just not my favorite pizza. My girlfriend and I frequently come out to Mattituck during the warmer months, and we always make it a point to stop by here each time we come out. At first glance, this local eatery just looks like a pizzeria; however, if you walk to the back, there is a beautiful restaurant to be dined in. The entrees are always delicious, and the service is always high quality and fun. On one of our recent trips here, the bartender created a cannoli dessert cocktail (which I think we named the "Holy Cannoli") and sent it over to our table for us to try. We always have a great time here. $5 corkage fee, so pick up a bottle at a local vineyard and feel free to bring it along. We are members at Lieb, so we usually stop by there first to buy a bottle and have a quick glass before dinner. read more

These people don't care about their customers. We were a group with a 6:30 reservation and left at 8:30 because we were still waiting for our food. The servers didn't come to our table until 7 and all the staff didn't seem to care. Around 8pm, a staff (bald guy) with a white apron on - came walking through the restaurant looking around, we stop him and asked about our food and his response was, "they are putting the food on the plates right now". Another employee came over and said our "order went in at 7:30", so we shouldn't 't be surprised? After getting the run around we paid for our drinks and the two pies we ordered (thank god we did) because our entrees never came. As we were leaving, we heard the staff say, "thank god, they are leaving". The owners of the place Frank/Dean or whoever should really reflect on how their staff represents them as owners, really sad and unprofessional! I expect more negative reviews to come through as other in the group will also be writing. Never coming back here again, and will tell others to stay away. This Pizzeria needs to get back on its game. The food is good, not great, but good. The service is the pits. They recently expanded this location and clearly the Front and Back staff can't handle it. Every time we've ordered takeout it's taken 20-30 minutes longer than they quote, and we can always count on several mistakes. Just careless errors. The pizza is always burnt from oven the cooks are not from italy so they make it their way, Everything tastes weird. Too many onions on the food too salty or just not done right Sauce has no taste and the food is not consistent. We gave it a try several times and now we just want everyone to beware......................The staff are local and do not like it when you complain and overall the place is a total disappointment for a slice of pizza and for fine dinning. Over priced and very small portions. We come from NYC and I am Italian. My wife and I will never go back. Overall I was not too happy with this place. We ordered a large cheese pie and a large Greek salad. Salad had no olives, and barely any feta.i remember their Greek salad being so good at one time. Called in for Takeout (during phase 3 of COVID-19) and the lady on the phone was a little rude saying that we cant customize our order and to just "stick to the basic menu" After talking to her for a bit we finally ordered what we want (we are a regular in the Eastport Location) we did get our food that we wanted. The food was excellent, and they were following COVID regulation for those who care about that, but I would definitely come back, and also they were mad busy so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Have been here before and thought it would be a good choice for a large group on a Saturday night (Labor Day weekend) - I was wrong. I made a reservation, which they accepted. We got there at the appointed time - 6:30 and were a group of 7. We were then told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait because although some tables were done eating and had paid - they simply weren't moving. Long story short, we weren't seated until 7:13 and then next to the bar by the kitchen - I asked her why we couldn't be seated in the dining room and was told that there are no tables that accommodate 7. I saw groups of 5,6,7,8,9, etc. and again asked the question. She then said that we hadn't requested the dining room when we made the reservation. Anyway, the table turned out ok if you like people standing around you while you're having dinner. Anyway, the waiter seemed pleasant enough and took our drink orders - don't order wine there, BTW - you only get 1/2 a glass - having a drink or a beer is the better choice. However, they do have a great selection of local wines. We had to ask several time for bread and when they finally brought it out - it was barely enough for 4 people. We had to ask for more several times before it came out again. Water glasses were not refilled without hunting down the waiter or bus people. Salads came out before the appetizers - ok on that because the food took a long time to come out anyway. I had never had a bad meal here before - tonight was the exception. I won't say the food was bad - but it was barely ok. I ordered veal parm which came out as breaded veal. One piece had some sauce and cheese - the other was dry. I took that piece to go home and asked for sauce on the side - I asked the waitress again when the bag came out and she said she put the sauce in herself - needless to say, no sauce. Oh, and we ordered side veggies - never ever came - although we asked several times and were told, "right away". The waiter never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert and we again had to hunt him down for the check. I know it was Labor Day weekend - but they should have been prepared since the weather was nasty and not good for BBQ's. Next time will go to Touch of Venice. read more

Being Mattituck residents, we heard about the Sunday brunch that this place was now offering between 11 am & 3 pm and we wanted to try it. After being so disappointed at the New Year's Day brunch at the Soundview Restaurant; we just had to see how Micheal Angelo's brunch was. This restaurant recently took over some space behind the business next door and converted it into a absolutely beautiful dining room. We went there for dinner about a month ago and was really impressed with the new space. Now back to that brunch. This was one of the best brunches we ever had !! There were so many different items to choose from. Besides the great omlette station, there were also other breakfast items nearby. We skipped the eggs and dove right into the wonderful array of great italian dishes. The large dining plates really came in handy here. The cold pasta salad was among the best we ever had.The eggplant parm was superb; as was the penne ala vodka. My wife loved the mussels ! My only complaint was the chicken dish was slightly bland on a little tough. I'm also not a huge fan of the meatballs there. They are kind of commercial tasting and a little hard. The dessert section was worth the price of admission; so much to choose from. Be sure to leave room for these tasty treats. Even the coffee was good ! The typical brunch drinks were served in beautiful champagne glasses; very classy. The food was suberb, the price was great and the service was also great. We plan on coming back here on a regular basis for this brunch. I only hope that it continues. It would be great if they wold have this brunch on New Year's Day. The restaurant service and food is very good and I have eaten in there a few times. But for some reason the counter help can't help but burn my pizza! Twice now...and I even said something this time about the pizza being burnt and no apologies and no can I fix it...they are to busy complaining about everything and talking to each other. I wont get pizza again...not only is it burnt but it took 15 minutes to warm a few slices. The Southold one has great counter service and wont burn your pizza. read more

My parents took me there last night and I was in for a nice surprise! I had always thought it was just a pizza place but when you walk to the back it is a beautiful restaurant. Pretty large too. We were given delicious garlic knots with bread to start our meal. I ordered the chicken franchise and I have zero complaints. Won't be back. Pizza slices were dry as they must have been sitting out for a while. Was really most miffed about the 4% credit card surcharge. They like to refer to it as a cash discount, but bottom line is if you use a credit card, it costs 4% more. Just seems like a sleazy cash grab to me. read more

I've always enjoyed the food at this restaurant but on Saturday 3/11/17 something unusual happened. As dinner was being served the manager informed us that our car was hit by a falling lamp post in the parking lot. NOT THE RESTAURANT'S FAULT, however they did nothing to help ,nor would they provide the name of the landlord. We fended for ourselves and there attitude was as per the owner :" you have insurance". Our dinner was wrapped per out request and we went on our way. There was little compassion for our situation and I had the feeling they couldn't wait for us to leave. I have frequented this restaurant often but Saturday was the last time. My friends asked, "didn't they comp your dinner, I said are you kidding they didn't ever offer a cup of coffee.
