Inconsistent. Get take out there at least every couple of months and the overall quality drifts. Not sure why. Got a few dishes for lunch today (chicken frances's and others) and, while the quality was quite good, the quantity was surprisingly small and the price was not trivial. Two very thin pieces of chicken cutlet with a very small quantity of pasta underneath. Probably about a half cup at most. The other dishes were also fairly scrawny with the exception of an actual full side order of sausage. If I go again, this will be different, again. Used to be awesome, I used to make it a point to get a pie from here, at least once a week. It's been on its way down for a while. The last three pies have been just lousy. The staff has obviously changed. Pizza is soggy, falls apart, not cooked through in the middle with burnt edges. Pies are stuffed in the box, then the crust separates a couple of inches from the edge when you try to take it out. Whomever the owner is, they made a grave mistake in choosing their current staff. I've thrown my money away here for the last time. Very sad to see this Titan go down. Doesn't even seem Italian anymore. At this point I would be afraid to try the dinning room again. If the front counter is evidence, it's got to be way off base by now. read more

My thoughts about Michaelangelo's Pizza and Restaurant in Mattituck My first impression from the 'gluten-free pizza' option sign which is proudly displayed at the entrance of the store and is not hidden somewhere at the bottom of a menu was that of total love and understanding! Knowing that your customers are not 'cookie-cutter type' people, but individuals with different needs is a necessary item for people with children and other family members with allergies. It is the difference between having a great afternoon/evening meal versus having to apply an epi-pen and pray that the EMT's and local hospital are close enough to save your loved one's life if your food server/provider is not knowledgeable or did not take the time to find the correct answer to your food allergen questions!!! If there was a 'safety first' award, I'd vote for this restaurant to receive one! To continue, persons with peanut, gluten, and other allergies can receive a tailored overview of what IS available to them in a discrete and sensible manner. The Sunday brunch was phenomenal!!!! My 8 year old lil miss, who has several food allergies was able to partake of the items offered at the various food stations and actually was able to have seconds and thirds!! Not only was she thrilled, but our entire table was since we were able to 'relax and enjoy'. The restaurant expansion was well worth it. Once you walk past the 'classic' pizzeria portion, you are transported to an old world area that beckons to you to come, sit, and enjoy. This restaurant/pizzeria IS one of Long Island's and the East End's BEST kept secrets!!! read more

I've been getting pizza here for years - good solid reliable good pizza. I kinda knew there was seating behind the pizzeria area, never knew it was a full-on table-clothed restaurant ! WOW ! we only had pizza and salads, but you can bet I'm coming back - the dishes that whizzed past me looked nothing less than incredible. We ordered a few pizzas sausage & onion and a half plain half pineapple. Came back all plain, they had run out of pineapple which they didn't bother to come tell us, a bit annoying, but whatever... maybe we would have made another topping choice. Let me tell you about the salad I ordered off the specials menu - a simple wedge salad. asked them to skip the blue cheese, so I was served a half head of iceberg with a delicious red wine vinaigrette dressing and CHUNKS of bacon, like 1/2 inch cubes of bacon... it was so delicious and so able to split three ways - I'm coming back for sure and will reporr on the entrees... read more

Too bad you can't give zero stars. Tonight we ordered a pizza, someone in our party sudden spit something out that was in her pizza. It was a sharp METAL object. Like a thick staple or metal shaving. She cut her gum up on the metal object. I called back and asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation and said we would come down with it for them to see it. His response was "outstanding". When we got there they were all standing in the back of the store, obviously so no customers could hear what was going on. They apologized and said it was was the Brillo pad (NO) and then said it was the metal pan shaving (maybe) THEN changed their whole story and blamed someone else- they showed us all of the metal pans they use to make yet another excuse as to why the metal object didn't come from their store- saying it must have been in chopped meat the get for the meatballs. We had to ask them to refund our meal and still they were reluctant. I wasn't happy with my meal and I wasn't happy with the outcome. read more

Stay away from this place. The pizza is pretty good to take out, but their pasta dishes are attrocious!! I was informed that on wednesdays they have a discounted menu. So i decided to give them another shot. THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT THE DISCOUNT MENU!!! So you have to be on the inside to know about this?Ridiculous. Inform your customers or you'll be sure to lose them.Totally greedy and unprofessional.P.S- the pasta i ordered was said to be in an oil based sauce but was served in red sauce! Not sure why there aren't any positive reviews for Michael Angelo"s of Mattituck. The food is always great, the dining room nicely appointed, always clean and the staff is super friendly. My family has been coming here for years. We can't get enough of their Chicken Piccata , Chicken Marsala and Chicken Francaise. Delicious !!! read more

I am only familiar with the pizza, but let me tell you as a pizza snob--this is as good as its gets! The tomato sauce is homemade and fantastic. I used to eat here weekly until I moved closer to the city a couple of years ago and to say I miss the Grandma pies would be an understatement. I haven't found anything close here in Westchester, where there are plenty of pizza joints. Ask if they have a fresh eggplant pie (not eggplant parm). It is not on the menu, but when they get good eggplant they will make you one and it is heavenly. read more

First off don't sit in the pizzeria area unless you like eating pizza in a recording studio. The music is played on volume 10 and I could not have a conversation with my fiancée as a result. It was awkwardly loud. The food was acceptable for sustenance purposes only. My fiancée ordered a grandma slice that was as flat as a 180 gram vinyl record. Its taste was as impressive as its height. My eggplant parmigiana slice was acceptable at best. Nothing to write home about. read more

love the bar and we always eat there but pretty mediocre experiences there over the last couple of visits. bartender should not be running his own food. wrong salad dressing came with salads--didn't know difference between olive oil cruet and red wine vinegar. rigatoni dish was cold and had to be sent back. pasta water needs salt. pizza dough underseasoned too and was way too bready and yeasty. grilled calamari salad was very good. not sure if we will be back. there are other options but this one is always very highly regarded so maybe off night. read more
