That being said, I am beyond leery of everything to do with Chapman due to the experiences I have had with Chapman Chevrolet. They sold me a known lemon and then flat refused to give me my money back after the truck left me stranded. The manager of the store and sales manager both told me that I should return the truck so they can resell it. Horrible.

Turns…read moreout Ford finally did the right thing and issued a general recall on the AC for those trucks that came out of the Kentucky plant that are failing left and right. Mine would have been covered under warranty anyway, but the service writer said there was an actual recall on it. I'll look it up of course. GRUDGINGLY - I am updating the service department to 4 stars. Grudgingly. I got my truck fixed a couple days faster than I expected (was without it almost two weeks), but I DID NOT get the same service as other Ford customers. The dealership over all is still at best a 3. The tires looked extra black when they brought it out to me. I thought, "Cool they washed it." NO THEY DID NOT. For some reason they oiled the sides of my tires. Hours later they looked the same, and when I brushed my hand over it I drew back with an oil residue on my fingers. Like I said I only upgraded them grudgingly. UPDATED Sept 10th 2025 - No news. No loaner. No star. UPDATED September 9th 2025 - I'm not ready to give them back a star just yet, but I feel a little better today after finally speaking with the service writer. This is one of the trucks that came out of the Kentuckey truck plant with a bad AC compressor. They are replacing it. They also said, they are going to try to get me a loaner vehicle by tomorrow. I did have a conversation with Ford at a higher level just trying to ask when I would hear something about my truck. I expect they may have got some word of that. I won't read to much into it, but my AC compressor and a lot of other AC parts will get replaced under warranty. Original September 8th 2025 - So far still just three stars, but I am still open for upgrading them. BACKGROUND: I just had the first oil change (3500 miles elsewhere) last week, but the first recommended dealer service at 10,000 miles isn't due yet. The air conditioning is failing. It just stops periodically. It's gotten worse over the last week, and I tested it today in my driveway. After 20 minutes in the driveway it never started blowing cold air, so I headed for the dealership. Of course on the way to the dealership it started working again. I stood there at the counter for a few minutes with no other customers waiting while four (4) service writers did other things. One was on the phone, 2 ignored me, and finally a 3rd asked if he could help. He listened and asked me to leave the truck, so maybe he believed me. Maybe they won't just start it up feel cold air, and call me to come get my truck claiming there is nothing wrong with it. I expected a loaner. None available. I was surprised because everybody I've spoken with who dropped off a warranty repair truck there said they got a loaner. I guess my surprise showed because the service writer stopped whatever he started to stay and started telling me how they haven't had any loaners available for a week. If that's true it should tell you how many Fords trucks are in for warranty repairs. So far nothing that would make me downgrade my opinion of the dealership, but nothing to make me upgrade it either. I'm open to being pleasantly surprised, but I left kinda wishing I'd taken a day off and driven to Buckeye or Phoenix with or without air conditioning. We shall see how it goes. I'll be honest. If they fix the problem without petty (or major) issues I'll upgrade them a star, but I don't think I can upgrade them two stars as things are.

After spending nearly an entire day pulled over on the side of the road and trying to figure out what to do, we eventually had our vehicle towed to Ramco and stayed overnight at a hotel. We truly couldn't have ended up at a better place. From the very beginning, Ramco was professional, honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly fair. They took the time to explain everything to us, were completely transparent about our options, and never made us feel pressured or like they were taking advantage of a stressful situation. Because we were traveling and dealing with an unexpected vehicle problem, I wanted to make sure we were getting the right information. I reached out to my brother-in-law, who works for San Diego Police Department (SDPD) and is responsible for the mechanical work on their vehicles. I explained everything Ramco had told us, and he gave me the exact same explanation and diagnosis. That gave me a tremendous amount of confidence and reassured me that Ramco was being completely honest with us and that we were not being taken advantage of. Their expertise and honesty gave us peace of mind, and most importantly, they helped get us safely back on the road so we could make it home to San Diego. I only wish Ramco were located in San Diego because I would absolutely continue using them and recommend them to everyone I know. If we are ever in the area and need automotive service again, Ramco will definitely be our first call. Five stars doesn't feel like enough. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would!

I was impressed that they pull the pan and don't try to sell you a flush or power flush or any of that stuff. Didn't try to upsale me on anything and was done quickly. Customer service skills could use a little work but they were not rude in any way just a little bit unwelcoming. That's why 4 instead of 5. All in all though they did an excellent job and I would recommend.

During that visit, a new warning appeared immediately after the recall work was completed. The truck had no prior engine warnings during my four years of ownership. The diagnostic code that surfaced was P008B-00 (Low Pressure Fuel System Pressure Too High), which appeared only after the recall service and left me without my daily driver for several days. I initially worked with a service advisor, and while the situation was frustrating at the time, the turning point came when I spoke directly with Lisa, the Service Director, on the morning of 12/12/25 when I picked up my truck. Lisa went above and beyond to ensure she exceeded my expectations. She listened carefully, understood my perspective, and treated the issue with professionalism, urgency, and genuine care. Most importantly, she owned the experience from the customer's point of view, made things more than right, and ensured my truck was fully resolved and running perfectly. Leaders like Lisa are hard to find in the automotive service industry. She set the standard for what authentic customer service and accountability should look like. I originally saw a vehicle listed online and called to ask about it. Shortly after, it was removed from the website. I was told it needed some work but was still scheduled to come in and see it. When I arrived, I worked with Christina, who was kind, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. She had been communicating with me consistently and advocating for me as a customer. However, once I was ready to buy and tried to negotiate based on fair market pricing, management stepped in and actually raised the price instead of negotiating. At that point, another salesperson, Jairo, was brought in to take over the deal while I was still there ready to pay cash. I found it very unprofessional that he spoke negatively about Christina and suggested she didn't know what she was doing. Management then told her to step away even though she had handled the process from the beginning. I specifically asked that she receive commission because she earned it, but I have no idea if that ever happened. I asked to speak with the general manager, Manny Rodriguez, since he ultimately makes decisions. He declined to get involved and left it to the sales managers, Luis Valenzuela and Emilio Calderon. Their approach felt dismissive and rude, and the whole interaction became uncomfortable and hostile. After purchasing the vehicle, communication got worse. Calls for updates went unanswered by both sales and service, and I had to call multiple times a day just to get basic information. When I finally picked up the car, it was released with no gas and no clear communication about the delay or status. While gas itself isn't the issue, the lack of professionalism throughout the process made it feel intentional and petty. Christina was the only bright spot in this experience. Everyone else made what should have been an exciting purchase feel stressful, disorganized, and unpleasant. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this dealership.

I asked if they detected anything else wrong with the car they said no that it was in fact the cv axle. I believe they did a hack job, and it had never even been fixed.
