    Rosa penne with meatball

First time in Denver and Mici's was our first stop! Fresh, simple, delicious authentic and fast. We loved the pizza crust, the Mama Rosa penne, and the meatball was soft and tasty. Gelato on point, like putting a little Italy in your mouth. Mia could NOT have been more great, went above and beyond, we felt very welcome by an old (new!) friend I only dinged atmosphere bc the cracks in the booth upholstery will hurt in the summer, and we parked before seeing any signage... so glad we didn't drive away!

We stopped in one afternoon to Mici Italian Restaurant, the Central Park location. This is one of many locations - it's a "fast casual" Denver based, family owned (Miceli Family) franchise chain, using long time family recipes. This family is all about giving back & helping the community, check out their website for more info. The restaurant's decor is really cute & inviting, including an outdoor patio with tables & chairs. The main colors are black & white - black ceiling & white chairs. This coordinates with an entire wall of vintage black & white photos of named aunts, uncles, grandma & grandpa with a statement... "Proudly serving recipes passed down personally by this lively bunch." We placed our order at the counter as you walk in. The same person brought out our meals. She was friendly, very personable & attentive. We ordered the Lasagna served with garlic bread & the Molto Carne Calzone. If pasta & calzones aren't your thing they also serve pizza & salads, plus cannolis & gelato for dessert. They also have gluten free options, wine & beer & zucchini noodles to substitute pasta noodles. The lasagna was just okay, it needed more spice & it had very little meat sauce. The garlic bread was plain, it lacked the garlic. The calzone was the star! It was stuffed full with (a family recipe) sausage, meatballs, pepperoni, mozzarella & ricotta cheese. The ricotta really made this dish top notch as well as the delicious dipping sauce & a wonderful crust. I'll be back to try the pizza next time, however I might just have to order that calzone, it's definitely craveable!

Watched Little Italy on Netflix today, made me want good Italian pizza so here I am! It's a 30 minute drive but well with the trip!

Excellent lunch special at an incredible price. The crust on their pizza is absolutely delicious. It's almost like a pastry, that's how good it is. The service was very friendly. It's basically a strip center restaurant, so the ambiance is not exciting, but that's not what you're there for. If you are looking for a nice personal pizza and soda at a great price, look no further. You should be at Mici.

The best part about Mici is that it never disappoints. I've been coming here for a few years and always do takeout. It had never once not been ready when I arrive. You can't go wrong with the pizza or pasta. Everything is fresh, delicious sauce, and I'm always satisfied with the results. Love the fact they have an easy rewards program through Toast too. Keep it up Mici team!

This was my first visit to Mici and it won't be my last! We came here for lunch and tried a few of their pizzas and salads. They have gluten free crusts, thank you! (But these are significantly smaller and with an upcharge. I'm so sick of that...) It'd be great if they offered lunch specials. Oh, but kids eat for free throughout summer. Yay!

I've had pizza here before and wasn't into it that much. It was good but not something that I would crave. This time - I ordered pasta Bolognese. We ordered to go and my fiancé went to pick it up. It came with garlic bread. First, even though this is a basic choice - the sauce was very good and the Bolognese was nicely done - not too many seasonings and not overwhelmed with too much meat. The garlic bread is also very tasty. You get a couple slices of it with your pasta entree - YUM! Next time I'm craving quick and easy pasta - this will be the place!

Best pizza place! The staff is so kind - we love Enda and Shelly who always take care of us. Tonight the Girl Scouts enjoyed dinner and got to sell some cookies. Would absolutely recommend a visit to any Mici location.

I feel fortunate because read other reviews here that said it took 2 months to secure a Monday reservation. I recently decided that I am not going to live a gluten free lifestyle even if my 4th cousin from 23andme suggested that everyone on earth is gluten intolerant and there is a global conspiracy to poison us all with gluten ataxia. Starting with the bread, we were already impressed. The texture was perfect, crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. There was another review that said it's not that great. Not sure what that persons problem is. I didn't know what to order so got the pasta rustica, a little marinara some ricotta. I understand from the other reviews that this is American Italian food but worked for me. My partner enjoyed the steak/Gorgonzola pasta. That was tasty too, I had the leftovers the next day! I learned the 2nd floor is for larger groups accessible only by stairs. I sat in the upstairs area which was not ideal being situated between the kitchen and he dishwashing room. My server, Janee introduced herself. She was formely with Ollie & Parks, their sister restaurant that closed in Match when an U-Haul truck hit the building. I started with an Aperol Spritz for $14. Then the Caprese Insalata. Plenty of tomatoes with thick slices of burrata all drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Janee said Monday's are Pasta night where all pasta dishes normally $22 are $11.99; So I got the Fettuccine Carbonara with shrimp. Every table gets Foccacia with an olive oil & herb dip. But it was not Foccacia. On Pasta night you also get a Caesar salad. I added a glass of Agricola Punica "Samas" from the Italian island of Sardinia. A great smooth white Chardonnay & Vermentino blend for pasta. The fettuccine was correctly made with a cream sauce, prosciutto and peas. I got 5 large tail-on shrimps. They bring out a large bowl of grated parmesan cheese to add to your pasta. A nice touch. For dessert, I got the Limoncello cake with a 2nd glass of wine. But a weird issue popped up with the bill. Every food item was higher than the menu price. I asked Janee. She said their new POS software added in the card interchange fee which is 3%. But then I noticed the 9.15% sales tax was on the gross amount, not the actual food & drink amount. So they are overpaying sales tax which is lost revenue. I mentioned that to Janee. A different person said he would adjust the bill for the 3% fee. A glitch that needs to be remedied. Overall, the food & service were good. They offer a cash amount due for less $$ but still incorrect.

We started with the focaccia (with the ricotta and honey on the side) and it was so tasty. My partner doesn't normally like ricotta, but loved this dish! Then, we had the melon salad (very refreshing). We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff brought out complimentary glasses of bubbly rosé, as well as their special dish, which were the stuffed squash blossoms. This was a really thoughtful touch! For mains, we ordered the tagliatelle with lobster (this dish had a tiny bit of spice, which was fine for us but might catch someone else off guard), and the lamb loin. Both were excellent. Overall, we had a great time! We found easy street parking nearby, as well. My only downside would be that, because this restaurant is so popular, there are lots of diners, which makes for a pretty loud atmosphere. The arancini was a fusion of Indian spiced cauliflower with mint-cilantro yogurt raita. My favorite of the Spuntini dishes was the Granchio--jumbo lump crab served over a crispy potato cake with butternut squash and a perfect 63 ° egg. We split two Primi dishes: their special of the day pasta, and the Cappellini Aglio e Olio. The Cappellini was amazing--a perfect blend of Indian spices, breadcrumbs, and another 63 ° egg. Yum. The decor is incredible, the vibe is sophisticated without feeling stuffy, and the service is always absolutely stellar. And then there's the FOOD. Everything is beyond amazing. If you don't start with the whipped ricotta, you're missing out -- it's a must. The calamari is solid, and the Little Gem Caesar is arguably the best Caesar in the city. It's so fresh and perfectly dressed. The most noteworthy dishes, in my opinion, are the Black Truffle Cacio e Pepe, Paccheri Amatriciana, Dry-Aged Bistecca Agnolotti, Filet Mignon Meatballs, and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE: the Chicken Parm Pizza. Do NOT be fooled by the name -- this thing is massive and definitely serves more than two people (I'd say closer to four!). You'd be stupid not to order it though because it is an absolute MUST. Starting with my favorite and the absolute knockout: The Dry-Aged Bistecca Agnolotti. Think of a ravioli pouch, but smaller and better, filled with meat, sitting in a bed of the most perfectly browned brown butter with thick parmesan shaves on top. You think it's over, and then your server comes and pours a sweet yet vinegary reduction on top. I'm actively eating it for breakfast as I write this. Insane. Will be thinking about this for a few days. The others in the group got the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which is one of their most popular dishes. It was good (we swapped bites), but mine was better. For the table we split a Caesar (which I do wish had more dressing, but I love a dressing so that could just be me), filet mignon meatballs (4 in an order which was perfect for our group of 4), and the tuna and avocado carpaccio. Favorites were the meat and fish. We used the bread to sop up the meat sauce at the end. Lastly, the Chicken Parm Pizza was ordered for the table. Basically, the "crust" of the pizza is chicken parm. I think it's a little expensive for what it was, but I'm glad I got to try it with a bigger group. Can't imagine reordering it, solely for the size and cost, but it was a unique food experience. Drinks at the table included a Barbera, a Chardonnay, a Sangria, and a Spritz. All good. Overall, service was great, restaurant is beautiful, dishware is pretty, and vibes are sophisticated yet unpretentious. Absolutely loved this place. Honestly, not sure why the reviews aren't even higher than they are,…read morebut to each their own I suppose. The restaurant has a classic old school Italian rat pack throwback vibe. It's fun and lively and a great place to join friends for dinner. Food here is genuinely delicious. I grew up in a big Italian family and have eaten a lot of Italian food over the years. This is exactly the kind of Italian comfort food I was hoping for. Super flavorful and delicious dishes that won't disappoint. We tried the Gnnochi Salsicia, Lobster Ravioli, Tasty Treats and lasagna (always kind of hesitant to try a lasagna or spaghetti) and all of them were amazing. The Lobster Ravioli and Gnnochi were probably the table favorites and were genuinely two of the best dishes I've had at an Italian food spot in a long time. Absolutely plan to make this a regular stop moving forward!
