Had lunch here this week with friends for lunch for the first time. It's kind of an old-time restaurant - not fresh & bright - but acceptable. Our lunch was ok however I wouldn't take out of town friends here for a meal. Our server was good. The place has been there for decades and it looks that way! read more

We stopped in here last week, and were pleasantly surprised. The menu is incredibly eclectic (want pasta with your steak? Want a quesadilla? No problem). Our server was a character (apparently he hates beer), but was impressed by the amount of tables/people he was managing with no issue. He started us with a welcome platter since it was our first time in, which was a very interesting mix of genres of food - marinara, refried beans, warm green salsa, red salsa, meatball, sausage, and tortilla chips. All of it was delicious, my favorite was the warm salsa. For a main course, I went with the prime rib (a weekend special), with a baked potato, and a salad. While the photo doesn't do it justice (the outside looks a touch brown), it was perfectly red inside. I'm typically not a fan of au jus but this version tasted a bit like onion soup broth - it was delicious. It also came with horseradish cream sauce that was also good - and you can't go wrong with a baked potato. The salad was also good and the Cesar dressing was great. read more

I have been wanting to try Mickey's for a while and finally dined on a Sunday night. Happily it was exactly what I wanted, a no frills steakhouse that served big portions at a great price. The menu also included Mexican food and tasty Italian. My table mates ran the menu gamut with orders of lasagna, fish and chips, vegetarian pasta and baked chicken dish. I ordered the 32 oz Porterhouse steak which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Everyone was pleased with their meals and had leftovers to take home. Our waitress was fast and the meal delivery was perfectly timed. Looking forward to making another visit to this 50 year old gem soon! read more

Prime rib was ok spaghetti was awful asked manager to bring out kid's meal first so we could get him settled it came out last 10 minutes after adults. Staff was more interested in talking to friends at other table them taking care of other guests manager hat to get us drinks 15 minutes after we sat down and made excuses them manager messed up the order Busser was so fixated on getting our plates I had to take them back so we could finish at first I was going to give two stars for the prime but now that I think about the whole thing only one! read more

Good food, good atmosphere and service. Had the steak and potato burrito during the lunch special. It was a good portion and the green chile sauce was good. I used to frequent this place since the 80's when it was in the old building across the parking lot. I will go back and try the sirloin steak next time. read more

First off, start with Wesley, our awesome waiter who greeted us and made us feel at home. he explained the interesting history of Mickey's and provided an unexpected surprise of a complimentary appetizer platter. This place has been around for as long as I can remember and I've always heard the food is good. Well, I finally went in for lunch and it was pretty good. It seems like a place that the same people have been coming to for 30+ years and the decor probably hasn't changed much. My partner and I came for his birthday. We were excited to go given the amazing reviews and wide selection they have (as he wanted steak, and I'm not a fan). We ordered chips and guac to start - there was 3 small scoops of guac on top of a huge pile of lettuce and more cheese than guac. Chips were the best part of this whole meal. This cost 10$ for a sad amount of guacamole. Then he ordered the Surf and Turf and I ordered Veggie Fajitas. He loves his steak but the shrimp was subpar, and his side of "veggies" were mushy and completely unseasoned. His soup (chicken tortilla or something) wasn't great either. My fajitas were terrible - beans tasted out of a can, tortilla was store bought, rice was bland, and the veggies were decently good. This cost me 21$, and the prices weren't even on the menu. I was charged for chicken fajitas, which I don't mind, but the quality was terrible. Now, I would have given them a 3/5 because of how nice the server was extremely nice and helpful with me. But, my partner who has a very strong stomach, has been on the toilet for hours. This has never happened and given that it was his birthday, I am extremely upset read more

Driving I-70 towards Denver, I suggested that we stop and eat steak. After looking it up online, this place popped up. After reading a couple good reviews and one really silly negative one, we decided this was the place. We're glad we did and we WILL be back. Walking in the door, we knew it was our type of place. The staff was so welcoming chatting with our server, she asked if we've ever been here before. We said no and she said they offer a sample plate for newbies, wow was that plate good. My server, Janee introduced herself. She was formely with Ollie & Parks, their sister restaurant that closed in Match when an U-Haul truck hit the building. I started with an Aperol Spritz for $14. Then the Caprese Insalata. Plenty of tomatoes with thick slices of burrata all drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Janee said Monday's are Pasta night where all pasta dishes normally $22 are $11.99; So I got the Fettuccine Carbonara with shrimp. Every table gets Foccacia with an olive oil & herb dip. But it was not Foccacia. On Pasta night you also get a Caesar salad. I added a glass of Agricola Punica "Samas" from the Italian island of Sardinia. A great smooth white Chardonnay & Vermentino blend for pasta. The fettuccine was correctly made with a cream sauce, prosciutto and peas. I got 5 large tail-on shrimps. They bring out a large bowl of grated parmesan cheese to add to your pasta. A nice touch. For dessert, I got the Limoncello cake with a 2nd glass of wine. But a weird issue popped up with the bill. Every food item was higher than the menu price. I asked Janee. She said their new POS software added in the card interchange fee which is 3%. But then I noticed the 9.15% sales tax was on the gross amount, not the actual food & drink amount. So they are overpaying sales tax which is lost revenue. I mentioned that to Janee. A different person said he would adjust the bill for the 3% fee. A glitch that needs to be remedied. Overall, the food & service were good. They offer a cash amount due for less $$ but still incorrect.

For the table we split a Caesar (which I do wish had more dressing, but I love a dressing so that could just be me), filet mignon meatballs (4 in an order which was perfect for our group of 4), and the tuna and avocado carpaccio. Favorites were the meat and fish. We used the bread to sop up the meat sauce at the end. Lastly, the Chicken Parm Pizza was ordered for the table. Basically, the "crust" of the pizza is chicken parm. I think it's a little expensive for what it was, but I'm glad I got to try it with a bigger group. Can't imagine reordering it, solely for the size and cost, but it was a unique food experience. Drinks at the table included a Barbera, a Chardonnay, a Sangria, and a Spritz. All good. Overall, service was great, restaurant is beautiful, dishware is pretty, and vibes are sophisticated yet unpretentious. You will be walking 40 days and 40 nights to the bathroom though, which is outside the restaurant, through the hotel, down the stairs, and through the hallway. Can't wait to return!!!

Our bartender (who was perfectly friendly and helpful) said he needed his manager to get the free cocktail. To be clear, we had literally no interaction with this woman at any point. So it's not like we did something to piss her off. When she arrived at the POS station - behind the bar about six feet from where we were sitting - she proceeded to complain about the "a-holes" (edited for language) using the Passbook and what a bunch of a-holes those customers were (not knowing we were in earshot). And when the bartender - who knew who we were and that we could hear everything - said in a hushed tone "No, they were nice" she proceeded to tell him that she didn't care and that they're just a-holes. I've never been treated so shoddy in my life in a restaurant for no other reason than using a promotional discount that they voluntarily participated in. It's bad enough to attack your customers for using a discount. But doing it behind the bar where customers can hear you is beyond unacceptable. And doing it when the customers you're talking about are within earshot is the most offensive thing I've ever expereinced at a restaurant. You may go to Steuben's and have a nice meal, but just be aware that behind the bar, they're talking about what an a-hole you are.

First time in there was no one at the station which says "please wait to be seated." Ten minutes. No one came. Look in at the bar. No one working. Only one patron. Walk into both sides where I see only a few diners. Finally, I leave for another place to eat. Second time in, I wait nearly five minutes. No one. Look in the bar. No one. Finally some one comes from the dining room and greets me. I tell them I am on my bicycle and may I park it in the very expansive lobby as I have no lock. It's big enough it would not have been in anyone's way. It's a two thousand dollar bike. Also there is no place outside to lock it up even if I did have a lock with me. Answer? No. She turns and walks away without another word. My advice? Go somewhere, where your business is appreciated and they have a clue as to what service is and have enough people working to take care of you. From other posts I see this is a common problem. hello my name is steve i visited Mickey's on July 15th 2020 this was my 51st birthday and wow was i impressed from the moment we walked in the service was spot on and very personable and our drinks and dinner were served in a very timely manner and with a smile! Now the food was outstanding we had ordered the Garlic Butter Filet and i am telling you right now that this was the best steak i have ever had. It was done to my specifications exactly i asked for med rare and that is exactly what i received. It was seasoned to perfection and so tender. I commend Micky's and there entire staff for working through this very scary time we are all living in. After our second high dollar steakhouse meal turned out to be crap here in Denver in the last month I decided to go ahead and write a review for this place. It is yet another with high reviews which makes us wonder if they are being paid to make these reviews. We went out of our way to go here to eat. And another one of those high dollar meals that were low dollar in value. I got my girlfriend their highly touted marinated steak which she wasn't impressed with. In fact, the next day she had diarrhea. I emailed the place the next day about it. I should have written a review that day. Our waiter didn't seem to know much about what was served there. Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite.
