Misdiagnosed completely telling me I needed to replace my manual stick shift clutch at 61,000 miles, after I'd replaced it at 46,000 due to driver error. I fixed the cause of driver error by getting blocks put on the pedals. Got a second opinion at Subaru, there's nothing wrong with the new clutch. Nor my front bushings. This could've cost me a lot of money for nothing. Won't go back. read more

A truly honest mechanic is rarer than it should be, and after a few years of going here I can trust them to let me know the real situation while other shops try to convince me the sky is falling. The AC on my 2007 Honda Civic was just not kicking out cold like it should. Micro got me in right away, and they ran on schedule, fixed it while I waited. Comfy waiting area. Very polite staff. Travis, who works at the desk, didn't treat me like an idiot, even though I know very little about cars. Explained everything very thoroughly, told me what they did, did a full inspection and pointed out some things to watch in future but didn't try to sell me any extra service I didn't need. My starter motor went out and I got my car towed to Micro Import. They got it done fast and efficiently and called me within a few hours to let me know it was finished. I've been using Micro Imports for over 4 years now I believe and they're been great! Nathan who is the manager there is excellent! Prices are fair and their work is quality. We've taken a total of 3 vehicles there, an '01 Sentra, '02 Jetta, an '05 Xterra and I will having our latest vehicle an '08 GTI serviced there when it needs work done. Nathan doesn't tell you BS to get your money, he'd much rather you have a working and safe vehicle. We've had lists of "to-do" things for the Sentra and Jetta and Nathan ranked them in highest priority for us so we weren't overwhelmed. He's also explained all the work that needs to be done and what they're going to do. I've referred multiple people to him and they've all received free oil changes. We'll continue to get our vehicles serviced/fixed with Micro Imports as long as we are in Tucson. read more

Thank you Micro Import for taking care of my Toyota Camry & servicing her with an oil change so she can run well. My hubby usually does our car maintenance but since he was out of town for military business, he scheduled an appt for me to get an oil change. My appt was at 1, and I was running a few minutes late. I rushed in once I got there, and apologized for being late. But I was welcomed with a kind smile & seen anyway. The waiting area is nicely air-conditioned, with free water, coffee, a selection of teas, and had doughnut holes next door where the restroom was located. They even have free wifi. Free shuttle service is provided if needed. I waited, which didn't take as long as I expected. I came at 1:05, car got taken it at 2, and was out by 2:45. Awesome customer service and they keep you in the loop the whole time. They also recommend other services, if it's needed. read more

If I weren't just passing through town, this would be the spot I'd visit for all my cars' servicing and repairs. En route from California to Texas, I'd planned a stop in Tucson to visit family & friends. I didn't plan on an oil change. Since the 'service engine' light came on west of Phoenix, I crossed my fingers and forged on to Tucson. Last night, first night in town, I got online and found Micro to call first thing after coffee in the morning (today). Busy spot, all bays filled, and they kindly fit me in just a few hours into the day. I arrived on time, wifi was available and was able to grab a COLD water from their handy hospitality coffee, tea or water spot, sat in the air-conditioning and took care of online & phone business while they took care of my car. An oil change later, I was on my way promising I'd be the next 5-star Yelp entry. Don't hesitate when considering a spot for an oil change or consider them for all your car servicing. I had a 99 Toyota RAV4 serviced back in September. Good auto shops are hard to find, so it is important to review them especially when you disagree with the current rating. Most of the auto repair places on yelp appear to be five stars, which seems highly unusual at best. I had a headlight with a bad socket and apparently a bad bulb, which were replaced. Unfortunately, the new bulb burned out about one month later. Maybe it was a cheap bulb (Wagner) or they just got unlucky but it didn't give a very good impression. My other concern is on the service they wanted to perform, fuel injection every 30k miles and a major tuneup because wires were dated 1999. I did have them do all the fluids, which they want to do every 30k miles, because it had been 60k miles on my car. The people I talked with were very polite, but I got the distinct feeling that they weren't being straight with me. I think they are basically competent but I think their honesty leaves a lot to be desired. If you have any doubts about their recommended service or repairs, get a second opinion. In my experience, there are much more practical and honest auto repair shops in Tucson, especially if you have an older car. That said, I have had a much worse experience at Precision Toyota, which is truly incompetent and dishonest (one star). read more

these guy were pretty awesome... very very thorough.. i appreciated the attention they put towards my car even though i only brought it in for an oil change. they were very honest with the diagnosis of what they felt needed to be done to my car. i have to say that when telling me what i needed to fix with my car, i felt the guy was a little over-dramatic.. i was told my brake pads were in extremely bad condition & that i needed to park the car & not drive it until i had these fixed. i was told that if i continued to drive the car it could cost me up to $600 to fix that damage [which would have been my rotars] i have a hard time believing this since rotars aren't that expensive... turns out, i didn't have these guys do the job for me because they wanted to charge me $375 to do my brakes.. the braked pads themselves only cost $80. when i asked them why it was going to cost me so much, he said it was because his guys are master mechanics & they get paid a very good hourly wage.. as true as that may be.. $295 for labor, to install brake pads? this is a time consuming job.. but not a hard one... so, besides being pretty over-priced.. these guys are A-ok. [i couldn't help but notice after my visit that they must be making a lot of money since every bus stop i've seen has had an ad for them on it] read more

We just moved our 2005 Subaru Outback to Tucson. It needed an obscure sort of repair. I found the fix for the problem on the web - brought it to Mike and Travis. They fixed the problem (an adjustment to the power steering) for less than $100. Even better, they really checked the car over, pointed out things which could be done but really didn't have to be done. Then they replaced headlights with ultra-bright lights which are very necessary for dark streets in Tucson (we don't have so many street-lights to protect the sky for astronomers). Not to mention great coffee and wi-fi on premises. Exceedingly nice and competent people. read more

Great place, I would definitely return! Read on for details: First I made an appointment that I then had to change. Alan was accommodating both times. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment on Thursday, May 30. The waiting room is very very pleasant: super clean, choices of coffees, teas, or water and cookies! The furniture was comfortable, which is important because I had chosen to wait for the service. The service was on a 2009 Toyota Highlander that I am considering purchasing. This was a pre-purchase inspection. Because I know the car's owner, I didn't have to use the more in-depth inspection, but Tim gave me the car fax info without my asking. The inspection was thorough and listed upcoming maintenance that will be required. Tim also told me how much all of this upcoming maintenance would run, if I were to have them do the service. Tim emailed the report to both the seller and my son, who will be the final owner. The cost of the inspection was, in my experience, reasonable: $58. read more

We brought my son's car '06 Pontiact Grand Prix to Micro Import because we were preparing to drive it 1000 miles back to the SF bay area. Wanted to have piece of mind driving this distance. They machined the warp rotors, cleaned the brakes, oil change, flushed all the fluids, and they did a safety check at a fair price, doing a quality job. Mike, at the front desk, was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and friendly. There was no pressure to do any extra or unecessary servicing. The car drove very smoothly through the desert, around LA, up/down the Grapevine, and zoomed up I-5. No problems. From now on my vehicle is going to Micro. I drive about 100 miles to their location and it is worth every penny. I am very happy with the performance of my vehicle after they have done extensive repairs on it. They are professional and courteous. I took my Toyota Tacoma truck to their location after I have had a number of shops try to figure out what was going on with my engine, without going into too much details, they diagnosed, identified and fixed the problem. I always put off car maintenance to the last minute because most corner store lube shops put you through the wringer in trying to convince you of all the fluids you NEED to have flushed, and the dealership always charges double (and the last time I used the dealership for a repair, I had to go back 2 additional times for the same problem in 6 months). When I finally had a laundry list of things wrong with my Accord, I figured I'd give Micro a shot since I used to live right next to them, and their reviews were good. I told them what I wanted fixed, they told me great, here's the price. It was about what the going rate was. Spent the day at work and the car was done by the time I came back. Told me everything was great. The real kicker? Instead of a hard sell on more auto work, they told me my tires were slightly worn from the alignment issue I had them fix, and their solution was for me to get them replaced at a cheapy shop, then bring it back to Micro for them to do the finishing touch additional labor for free. Car service as it should be. Straight forward, no surprises, and effective work. A month after my visit, they sent me a hand written note thanking me for trying out their shop. They're a little farther than I usually car to go for car maintenance, but I think I'll make the trip in the future. read more

Great place. My subaru is difficult to work on, as it's a rebuild with non-stock parts. They managed to keep me happy (and get my car fixed) despite challenging circumstances. We took our 1993 Subaru to Micro Imports based on the other reviews on Yelp and were delighted by the service we received there. We won't be taking our car anywhere else for as long as we live in Tucson. The staff are really friendly, informative and honest: they checked out one concern we had about the car and told us that there was no need to worry, and no need to spend money. They also provided us with a ride to/from a nearby cafe (with wifi) where we could wait in comfort while they worked on our car. It's always a worry finding a good auto repair shop when you move to a new town, so we definitely feel happy to have found Micro Imports. read more

And of course, I had both axles replaced for much less money than they quoted me. Do the math folks....325.00 vs 840.00! They can spin this any way they want. They are just "covering their asses!" Today was my first visit to Micro. I had been looking for a good auto service for some time as I am fairly new to the area. I actually live in Green Valley and although there are plenty of auto service places here I did not find any that I wanted to trust my car with. I was immediately impressed by the great attitude and customer service savvy of Allen and Tim. Very willing to take the time to talk about your car problems and to answer all questions. They came up with service plan including parts needed, time needed to make the repairs and all costs. The car was ready the next day as promised without any extra costs. This place makes you feel like they want your business and they also offer a 2 yr. 24K mi warranty on their repairs. They also did a pretty comprehensive inspection on my car for upcoming maintenance and included it in the final report. I am satisfied and will return here when repairs are needed. I was looking for a auto service shop that I can trust to work on my truck. After reading all the high reviews from customers at Micro Import Service, I contacted them to look at my truck for some minor repair. I have to say that the reviews were spot on. Mic and his staff were extremely friendly and ready to work on my truck. After Allen and I went over the service to be performed, they even provided transportation to drop me back home. When the service was completed, Mic arranged for me to be picked up at my home and brought back to Micro to pick up my truck. As a new customer, I was provided a free complimentary oil change free of charge. All I can say is, Thank you Micro Import, and I plan to keep you as my truck's only service shop. I chose this company because they had great reviews, however my experience was questionable. They are very nice and courteous, and I thought this was going to be a great experience. I went in for an oil change, but they told me my air filter was dirty and needed to be changed. They also recommend I have my cabin filter changed as that is recommended to be done at 15,000 miles and I was at 19,000 miles. So, I took their recommendation and had them do that. Once I arrived home, I looked at my auto records and found out my air and cabin filters were just changed 5,000 miles ago. I called them and questioned the need to change these filters so soon. He assured me they were both dirty and that I could drive back over there (1.5 hours round trip) and he could show me. He offered to email me photos, which I never received. I wouldn't have any way of knowing if they were from my car, anyway. Also, they said my tires needed to be rotated. They charge $35 to rotate tires. I've always had companies rotate my tires for free when I'm having other work done, or at the most only charge $15. The other interesting thing is that while the tech was explaining what needed to be done to my car, he just kept looking at the paperwork. He wouldn't make eye contact and talk to me. He just kept looking down. I thought that was odd. I'm disappointed I didn't have the same great service everyone else experienced. I really thought I found a great place. One thing I learned is I will definitely check my auto records before going into another shop. That mistake was on me. I should have checked, first. read more

For a traveling rock band, finding a trustworthy mechanic on the road is essential. Especially in a pinch and in a foreign city. On the road, the van is the lifeblood of the group. We had driven across the country from New York on tour with the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and we stopped in Tucson to play at the Fox Theater. I took the van in to Micro to check out a bad grinding noise coming from the front wheel. They not only isolated the noise, but found that both front bearings were bad, and in fact the hub on the right side was loose, which is what was causing the right bearing to wear so quickly (a problem 4 previous mechanics who replaced bearings could not seem to identify). They also discovered a coolant leak from a bad freeze plug. The job would normally have required us to leave the van overnight, but because of our predicament - having sound check that day with our gear, a show that night, and a show the next night in San Diego 6 hours away, with a hotel booked that night in Yuma - they not only hustled to get the job done in two hours, but drove us and our equipment to the venue, 15 minutes away, in the mechanic's pickup truck! Mic the owner drove us himself, then drove us back to the shop to pick up the van before the show. Matt and Mike stayed late to get it done so we could make it to Yuma, at no extra charge. They even offered to use their company discount to rent a bus for us to transport our gear, should we have needed it. In the days that followed we stayed in contact and they continued to be very helpful, troubleshooting issues over the phone. The hub and bearings are still holding up, after driving 5,000 miles through mountains, deserts, snow and ice. They bailed us out big time! Thank you again! -Chris (of The London Souls) read more

OK, so maybe I should just start doing TV commercials for these guys. You can tell from everyone you meet at Micro that they LIKE working here and are committed to doing quality work. The last few times I had my car in for regular service, they let me know that I'd have to think about bushings and struts sometime soon. Sure enough, that time came. It's an expensive repair, but their prices are fair. After nearly a month, I wasn't completely sure everything was as it should be -- my '07 Civic had developed a few new squeaks and noises. They saw me right away, inspected and drove the car, had me drive it with a mechanic, made a few adjustments (a newly missing fender clip, tightened the hood and a mud flap) and presto, that solved it. And since it was follow-up to a previous repair, they did not charge me. Micro really "gets" customer service and does great quality work! read more

I've been going there for 25 years and have never had anything but excellent service. I really trust the people to properly diagnose what's going on and to fix it. If they see things coming up that will need to be taken care of, they always prioritize and give approximate cost. That has helped me budget the work needed for the few cars I've had over the years.
