I was in today and as always the food was great. I only have one comment to give about your servers. I have been in the customer service industry for a long time and am always disturbed when I see this kind of behavior from other servers. Two young ladies were standing back by the back wall talking about issues of the cafe. These are things that we as customers do not want to hear. It disturbed me most when I heard them talking the owner and I over heard one lady say "He can take this restaurant and shove it up his a**". If you are not happy with your job then go find something else to do but for that to be heard is just not good for business. I was sitting in the first booth by the door and heard her. So if I heard her the few others that were in surely heard it. I love this little place and think the food is amazing but that was just uncalled for. Hope that it can be resolved. read more

My husband found this place... it's a smaller place and the wait is not bad. The service and wait staff is amazing along with food! With it still being a fairly new place I am still working on trying everything on the menu. So far everything has been absolutely delicious! My favorite is the French combo! (So far!) read more

First time here and right after ordering they tell us its going to be 40 min before we get our food due to them being " busy" ! No they were not busy! No line at the door! I have been to places where the lines are out the door and you still get good service. After waiting for 30 min our waitress never came to check up on refill on drinks!! Ive witnessed 3 tables now (4 including ours) who keep asking where their food is! Ridiculous ! read more

Went there today for lunch, got a Patty Melt and fries. It was incredible. I have been there numerous times and have ordered different items each time. I have been very pleased with the food, the service, and the customer service. I normally will visit a place a number of times before rating them, unlike some previous whiner reviews made by a dude who shall remain nameless but his profile shows he mostly only bitches about places. Cafe is fairly new in the neighborhood and this was my first visit. I ordered tuna melt, which was a generous portion of good, homemade tuna on perfectly grilled rye bread. One of the best I've ever had. My side, which came first since it was a salad, was a big serving, very fresh, very green and very crisp. Excellent homemade ranch dressing. Salad included grated cheese, diced tomatoes and crisp, flavorful cucumber slices. I will be back to try breakfast and other items on the varied menu. The prices are good and the food is fresh. The pancakes are huge! My bf and I got a mixture of everything so we could try it all. The eggs were great, sausage and bacon was really good, coffee was great, and the biscuits and gravy were good. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy. My family and I enjoy having breakfast here. The staff has always been friendly and has tried hard to make the experience as best as it could be. The food is good. I doubt you'll find anything extraordinary about their offerings, but I would say that you'll always find everything good with a part that may stand out to you. Like for me I like their sausage. My wife really likes the pancakes, the kids love the French toast. When all the better known breakfast places are rolling with a 30-45 minute wait go to this cafe. We have only been there for breakfast so can't speak to lunch menu. The food is not bad, which is why I'm giving them 2 stars, but their service is bad. They have charged my credit card the wrong amount twice! I have been there a total of 7 additional times to try and have them fix it. I have even taken in bank statements to show them I think i have spoke to every member of the family. Unfortunately, they are incapable of fixing the problem or refuse to do it. I'm not sure which it is. I will not take my family back there which is too bad, as it's within walking distance of home. read more

I ordered breakfast from Uber eats. The hash browns tasted like soap, the gravy on the biscuit tasted like sweet, floury water, and the corn beef hash tasted like soured ham. Only thing edible was the bacon. So so bad. read more

While waiting for our food the debate was not whether to come back or not but should we just leave now. Waited forever for our order to be taken. The waitress we grabbed said our waitress could not see we were seated in her section despite there being only 20 tables in the only room. Another waitress eventually took our order and got two things wrong. Never ever offered coffee refills - we had to flag down random waitress for help. When wrong order brought waitress gave excuses not apologies. Scrambled eggs cold and rubbery. Bacon rubbery. Coffee not too good. We now know why there was no wait here and down the street at Old West Cafe there was a line out the door. We stayed but will not be back. read more

Let me begin with the food used to be good and service is good, but could stand improvement. Since the new owners took over just a little over a month ago it is all going south fast. 45 minutes to get your food is not good. A wonderful and well-balanced meal that is easy on the pocketbook. Lots of variety and the taste is consistently like homemade quality. I have had everything from traditional lunch items to breakfast meals and it never lets me down. The women who work here are friendly and attentive. For an excellent breakfast or lunch that is in the "ten buck to under range," this place is really tough to beat. I give it my highest recommendation. Get there soon! read more

My family and I have been going to Mid Cities Cafe for some time now. We have always enjoyed the food and have had great service. Today that was not the case. We got there today and they were busy. We waited for them to clean off a table. Another couple came in 15 minutes after us and the hostess said to them it would be a few minutes. The next thing the manager came over and asked the couple who just came in if they wanted the small table or the big table. They were seated at a two top. They then seated us at a booth that came available - not the big table. We had a family of four and a 2 year old in a high chair. We overlooked this mix up as the manager did not check with the hostess. The waitress took our drink order and food order since we knew what we wanted. They brought our drinks. My husband ordered chicken fried steak with a salad. His salad never came out, he had to ask for it. Waitress never came around to ask about refills on drinks. Our 2 year was figiting. We were there for about an hour after being seated and order taken and still no food. We asked the waitress and she said half your order is ready, I am not trying to starve you or anything. Our thinking was if half the order is ready will that get cold while the other half is being made. Next time we ask the hostess about our order and another waitress (who has always been friendly and provided great service) was snippy and said your food will be right out. Another 15 minutes and still no food. At this point in time we decided to go some place else. The manager said okay bye no aplogies or I'm sorry. I understand when there are problems when a restaurant is short on staff etc. Just some type of communication would have been great. Other waitresses and the hostess were sitting around rolling silverware. They could have been helpful to customers by seeing if there was any need for drink refills etc. I don't know if we will go back. We had loved going there but not sure now about returning. read more

I went there today for the first time and was pleased that on a Saturday morning that I didn't even have to wait for a table! I had a breakfast skillet that was really good and had lots of meat and veggies in it. They were constantly refilling our coffee cups without us even asking. I will be back!!! read more
