Converter not bolted as stated. Only welded and patched up with CEMENT and now falling apart and leaking.
    Rizza Monica S.

this is a warning! please read! the only job/service that they are good at are the classic "triple ds":  "defend, deny, divert" simmilar complaint with other "real" comments/ customer reviews: dishonest work, rude, disrespectful (owner, gene, cussed on customers) and over-all horrible customer service experience/business ethics. unresolved complaint-denied their dishonesty and bad workmanship. reported to customer relation and bbb. dishonest job (lied about my converter being bolted. only welding and cement then denied the leak.) there was no bolt around). they just patched up the bad welding job with a cement on my converter and denied there was a leak. i asked where was the bolt, then he immediately took back what he said because my dad, myself and his mechanic heard him saying that it was bolted. now the cement is cracking and falling off.the leak cannot be denied cannot be denied because it can be heard and felt. disrespectful (yelled and cussed at me and my dad after i caught him lying: "i can yell whenever i want! this is my shop! the customer is not always right! if you're wrong,  you're wrong! i own this shop!") he's the receptionist, too, name is gene. he was very rude and gave us horrible customer service by shouting the whole time at us and made us feel stupid. very disrespectful (yelling at me and my dad to  "get your volkswagen out of here! get your car out of here! get the f**k out of here!) he treated us like we're stupid when we were pointing out the issue/complaint. he said "i don't care if you file a report. report to better business bureau, report to whoever. tell your dad!" it happened after i returned to his shop because of my disatisfaction with their work/complaint about replacing my catalytic converter. i learned about their lousy job because of second opinion. extremely unprofessional and condescending by telling that the mechanics who gave me second opinion are "idiots". they just patched up the bad welding with a cementon my converter and denied there was a leak. i asked where was the bolt, then he immediately took back what he said because my dad, myself and his mechanic heard that it was bolted. now the cement is cracking and falling off.the leak cannot be denied cannot be denied because it can be heard and felt.   he kept on cornering me and my dad with "word games". he lied and kept denying and diverting the complaint. i was ripped off. he was only nice when getting the money but when being questioned,  he gets irritated, frustrated, got loud and cussed his customers. save your money and headache from this terrible business. we left traumatized.  this man put midas' name to shame and ruined its reputation.

If you value your wheels, don't go here. They managed to chip, scratch, and mar every single one of my OEM powdercoated wheels when mounting new tires.

There are better Midas locations to go for oil change and repairs. Shop around for a good repair place that you can trust.

I can't say enough great things about Avondale Auto Repair, Nathan, Rick and their staff…read more As a first-time customer, I came in with what I thought was a simple issue--my 2017 Toyota RAV4 key fob suddenly stopped working. I'd replaced the battery before, so I tried that again... nothing. My (very mechanically inclined) husband tried too--still nothing. That kicked off the search for a replacement, and wow--what a frustrating experience. The dealership quoted me $600 to replace and program a new key. Automotive locksmiths were all over the place--$180, $250--and the whole process felt vague and transactional, like you couldn't get a straight answer without jumping through hoops. Then I found Avondale Auto Repair through the Costco Auto Program--and everything changed. Rick answered the phone, and within seconds I felt reassured. He was straightforward, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest. Instead of trying to sell me something, he explained the pros and cons--how aftermarket keys often don't last, and how they source directly from the dealer but can usually save customers about $100. No pressure. Just real, helpful information. When I came in, that same feeling continued. The shop itself is clean, bright, and welcoming--nothing like the typical auto repair environment. Nathan (Rick's brother-in-law) was at the front desk and immediately made us feel comfortable. Friendly, genuine, and incredibly helpful. Before recommending anything, he opened up my key and inspected it to confirm it wasn't just a battery issue. That alone told me everything--I wasn't being upsold. They were actually trying to help. Then Rick came back from lunch and did the same thing again, just to double check. I paid a deposit and they said they'd call once they got the key from the dealership. It took a few days. Even though they were short-staffed they week of my FOB order, Nathan handled everything with professionalism and kindness. He called three different dealerships to track down my key (since it was out of stock everywhere), coordinated the order, and made the whole process seamless. When I came back to drop off my car, even the staff helping me park were warm and courteous--it's those small touches that really stand out. We used to have a go-to repair shop nearby, but after a change in ownership, it just hasn't been the same. Now, we've found our new place. Avondale Auto Repair didn't just fix a problem--they earned our trust. And that's everything. That's how you do it, Nathan and Rick!

(side note: NEVER EVER EVER let them "flush your transmission fluid". If you need that service done (which you really should only need once in the life of the vehicle at around 30k miles) go to a real shop and have them do it the right way - without the machine - the machine will ruin your day a while down the road (pun intended)). Anyways, ignoring my rule about no jiffy lube, I checked this place out since it was the only place to get my oil changed, on a saturday, that had decent ratings on yelp. Those ratings are totally justified. The staff is super polite, really quick, and very low pressure. They still run through the list of things they want to repair for you: wiper blades, filters, trans fluid, fuel filters, etc (just say no and either do these yourselves or in a real shop to save money) but they don't try to pressure you into those purchases like most places. They also give you a free carwash and air freshener. The price could be better, at $35 it's a little steep when you can get it done for $20 at more shops, but it's a chain, and you expect that going in. So I'm revising my rule: no chain oil change places EXCEPT for this one Jiffy Lube.
