02/16/26 - I've been coming to Express Auto Body & Repair since I took a chance & came here around 2017. It's amazing when you have a shop like this that is 1 mile from my home & they do both excellent body & mechanical work. Express is located on Elston Ave right across the street from Mariano's & 1 door east of the DMV. I've come to know most of the people in the office as well as the people doing the body & mechanical work. They do solid work at a competitive price. I've lived in this area for over 25 years & to locate a shop that does excellent work so close to home is awesome. For the most part they have been very responsive to my needs both for body & mechanical work. I have recommended a number of my family & friends as the quality of work is unquestionable. For me I appreciate the quick response & turn around time for a most of the time a reasonable price. This is a family run business that does excellent work. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. Outstanding work all around, their customer service is the best I've ever had with any business be it auto shop, restaurants or any other service industry, took my car in for repair and I was quoted $1,100 less than other businesses and even though they found more damages once they remove the front bumper it was still less than other body shops and I'm sure those places would have charged more too, wish I can name the other places. They made me wait for about 20 minutes for a walk in quote on minor body repair. I will be going to a different body shop for my repair. The quote was higher than a couple of other shops. At the time when I first arrived there was only one person in the waiting area and they were there to pick up their car. Express Auto Service, Inc. has been around since '84, and it is family-owned and operated by Mr. Chung and his two sons. They offer automatic/mechanical/collision repair services and have a high level of customer service. I actually came here due to a field trip fiasco with one of the buses, and Mr. Chung and his team were extremely professional, efficient, honest, and was diligent in fixing the problem that arose (characteristics that are extremely difficult to find in mechanics nowadays!). Okay, so I know this place has a lot of great reviews on Yelp. You know what? It deserves every one of them! Here are the reasons: 1.) The work they do is stupendous! My car was bounced into TWICE on a icy night a couple of weeks ago. The fender was toast so State Farm told me to pick one of their approved shops and go in to have it fixed. Express Auto was close and had good reviews so I went there. Here's the thing: my car had WAY more damage than I had noticed and reported, but Handsome Jay (He's the owner and a hoot!) was paying attention and fixed up everything I had missed. He took the pictures, contacted State Farm, and then did the work as planned. His shop did a really beautiful job! 2.) Express Auto is reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised. All I paid was the deductible, but I still did not want State Farm to have to shell out for new driver side doors. Somehow, Express Auto got out all the dents and repainted so that the car pretty much looks brand new. About $2500 for pretty extensive damage. 3.) Good service. Handsome Jay told me it would take a week. It took a week. Exactly. I didn't have to hang around waiting a long time either. In and out. Very pleasant staff too. Jay is a sweetheart as is everyone else I dealt with on the phone and in person. 4.) The extras. I know this is probably no big deal, but they also did a GREAT job washing my filthy car, inside and out. When I picked it up, I felt like I was really getting something nice. It mattered to me. Also, when I went to pick up the car, Jay told me he had noticed damage to a hub cap that I had missed and not reported. He took more pictures and said he'd tell State Farm and order the hub cap and just bring me in for half an hour to fix it. I don't know if that will really happen, but I bet it will. That's the kind of shop that Jay runs! 5.) I think that's it. Check out Handsome Jay and Express Auto. I feel like I got a body shop for life! Hard to find a trustworthy mechanic shop but this is it. Dropped off my Lexus IS for new brakes. I received a call from the shop manager shortly after letting me know that they had inspected the vehicle and found that the brakes were actually still in good condition. The manager joked saying that they would love my money but there was no need for replacing the brakes at the moment. Jiffy Lube or some other shop would have easily "changed the brakes" and taken my money regardless of the car's actual need for it. I've taken the car to Express Auto Body & Repair for other jobs since and have received great, timely service at a very fair price. Hands down the best service. We've been coming here for over 10 years and Always recommend to all of our friends and family. They fix what you need fixed, with the best price and don't try to push other services on you. They are honest and will say something along the lines of, "you got another good two years before you need this fixed. We'll keep an eye on it." Had no idea this phenomenal body shop is in my neighborhood. But, I couldn't be happier when I needed them after a minor accident. Their estimate was within $1 of the insurance company's estimate, so everyone was happy. When Jay, the owner, gave me a tour of the shop and said their goal would be to get my car looking brand new, I didn't really expect that would happen. But, it really did. The repair was flawless, including new paint to match the original. What put it over the top was the complete detailing, inside and out, before I picked up my car. Squeaky clean, just like brand new.
