02/16/26 - I've been coming to Express Auto Body & Repair since I took a chance & came here around 2017. It's amazing when you have a shop like this that is 1 mile from my home & they do both excellent body & mechanical work. Express is located on Elston Ave right across the street from Mariano's & 1 door east of the DMV. I've come to know most of the people in the office as well as the people doing the body & mechanical work. They do solid work at a competitive price. I've lived in this area for over 25 years & to locate a shop that does excellent work so close to home is awesome. For the most part they have been very responsive to my needs both for body & mechanical work. I have recommended a number of my family & friends as the quality of work is unquestionable. For me I appreciate the quick response & turn around time for a most of the time a reasonable price. This is a family run business that does excellent work. Give them a try you won't be disappointed. Today 02/16/26 I needed an oil change called them brought the car in. I was in & out in about 30 minutes. read more

I've had a positive experience every time I've visited Express Auto Body & Repair shop, most recently in February 2026. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and a genuine willingness to help. The team is respectful and consistently provides superior customer service. What truly stands out is their honesty, something that's unfortunately not as common as it should be these days. They take the time to explain what's needed, never try to upsell unnecessary work, and genuinely put the customer first. It's refreshing to find a shop you can trust. Highly recommend! read more

"Honest shop that doesn't upsell unnecessary repairs." Straightforward and honest--no surprise add-ons or fabricated issues." They fixed what was actually wrong and didn't invent a laundry list of extras which was quite surprising since that has been my experience with every other mechanic. read more

Outstanding work all around, their customer service is the best I've ever had with any business be it auto shop, restaurants or any other service industry, took my car in for repair and I was quoted $1,100 less than other businesses and even though they found more damages once they remove the front bumper it was still less than other body shops and I'm sure those places would have charged more too, wish I can name the other places. This is my new go to body shop read more

They made me wait for about 20 minutes for a walk in quote on minor body repair. I will be going to a different body shop for my repair. The quote was higher than a couple of other shops. At the time when I first arrived there was only one person in the waiting area and they were there to pick up their car. It seems like they would rather focus on the computer than on a customer in the office. Sorry but that's the way it seems. read more

I was truly impressed by their performance, professionalism, dedication, flexibility and friendliness. I was recommended by my friend Phil Shiozaki, who is a regular customer. He was absolutely correct, the service is phenomenal. read more

This has been our auto mechanic and body shop for years. They are honest, fair, prompt, and do great work. They work with insurance claims with a lot of knowledge about the different companies and how they manage the claim. Their prices are not bargain because you get what you pay for. I want quality work and a shop that does what they promise. This family run business does exactly that, and with kind customer service. read more

Express Auto Service, Inc. has been around since '84, and it is family-owned and operated by Mr. Chung and his two sons. They offer automatic/mechanical/collision repair services and have a high level of customer service. I actually came here due to a field trip fiasco with one of the buses, and Mr. Chung and his team were extremely professional, efficient, honest, and was diligent in fixing the problem that arose (characteristics that are extremely difficult to find in mechanics nowadays!). I am so glad that Mr. Chung and his auto shop was there to help us out! If you have any car issues or repair services that need to be done, check out Express Auto and the team - you will not regret it! :D +ask for Mr. Chung! read more

Okay, so I know this place has a lot of great reviews on Yelp. You know what? It deserves every one of them! Here are the reasons: 1.) The work they do is stupendous! My car was bounced into TWICE on a icy night a couple of weeks ago. The fender was toast so State Farm told me to pick one of their approved shops and go in to have it fixed. Express Auto was close and had good reviews so I went there. Here's the thing: my car had WAY more damage than I had noticed and reported, but Handsome Jay (He's the owner and a hoot!) was paying attention and fixed up everything I had missed. He took the pictures, contacted State Farm, and then did the work as planned. His shop did a really beautiful job! 2.) Express Auto is reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised. All I paid was the deductible, but I still did not want State Farm to have to shell out for new driver side doors. Somehow, Express Auto got out all the dents and repainted so that the car pretty much looks brand new. About $2500 for pretty extensive damage. 3.) Good service. Handsome Jay told me it would take a week. It took a week. Exactly. I didn't have to hang around waiting a long time either. In and out. Very pleasant staff too. Jay is a sweetheart as is everyone else I dealt with on the phone and in person. 4.) The extras. I know this is probably no big deal, but they also did a GREAT job washing my filthy car, inside and out. When I picked it up, I felt like I was really getting something nice. It mattered to me. Also, when I went to pick up the car, Jay told me he had noticed damage to a hub cap that I had missed and not reported. He took more pictures and said he'd tell State Farm and order the hub cap and just bring me in for half an hour to fix it. I don't know if that will really happen, but I bet it will. That's the kind of shop that Jay runs! 5.) I think that's it. Check out Handsome Jay and Express Auto. I feel like I got a body shop for life! Oh yeah, props to State Farm for being decent about my claim. Judy Gleason. Check her out too! read more

Honest and gets the job done!!! I will always take any of my vehicles and recommend them to anyone who needs auto repair. Like many others, I look at reviews. May this help anyone considering to get their vehicle check out with this business. read more

Hard to find a trustworthy mechanic shop but this is it. Dropped off my Lexus IS for new brakes. I received a call from the shop manager shortly after letting me know that they had inspected the vehicle and found that the brakes were actually still in good condition. The manager joked saying that they would love my money but there was no need for replacing the brakes at the moment. Jiffy Lube or some other shop would have easily "changed the brakes" and taken my money regardless of the car's actual need for it. I've taken the car to Express Auto Body & Repair for other jobs since and have received great, timely service at a very fair price. I will gladly give them my business and will continue recommending their services for as long as they are around. read more

Excellent value, honest service and quality repairs - I've been going to Express Auto for years.

I don't take the time to write reviews usually, but really wanted to add my voice to the many positive reviews already here. Great, courteous customer service (kind of rare with mechanics in my experience), solid quality of work, and a good price. Not sure what else is important. They gave my kids a lollipop, so I guess that was nice too. :) Will definitely come back. read more

Hands down the best service. We've been coming here for over 10 years and Always recommend to all of our friends and family. They fix what you need fixed, with the best price and don't try to push other services on you. They are honest and will say something along the lines of, "you got another good two years before you need this fixed. We'll keep an eye on it." My kids actually like coming for oil changes or other maintenance stuff because the staff is friendly and we usually go across the street to have gelato at Mariano's. They also have another location in Rolling Meadows if Chicago is too far. read more

Express Auto has been my sole auto repair shop for about two years. I completely trust this business to do a great job and charge me less than what I'd be charged anywhere else. I'm considering still coming here even when I get a new car (only except when the oil change or repair would be free under warranty). read more

I thought so too, I been their customer since the store was on Montrose Ave. Today I had my wife installed two tires and they overcharged 21/2 times more for installation. I called to complain and just got a BS attitude. I call the tire shop on the next block, the installation was 21/2 times less. Just disappointed, how they changed, Time to find an honest mechanic read more

This is a Korean oriented car business but they speak English really well. They will always offer the cheapest and most effective way to approach the price. -if there is ever a problem they will show it to you on the car -they tell you in detail of why they're approaching it one way instead of the other. -replace both front brakes -realignment of car and wheels -oil change (they found and showed me a leak in the engine and that there wasn't any oil in the engine, I saw this issue coming) -flex pipe for two exhaust leaks at both ends of the catalytic converter ~$550.00 5th time coming here read more

I am strongly recommend this repair center. I had a engine light, so I visited three shops in my hometown and those shops told me I should fix it and pay more than $300 without explaining problems. With Yelp comments, I made a decision to visit Express auto and repair shop because this shop is commented five stars. Master who is owner is so kind and honest. He explained what problems are to my Jetta, and he said to me "Those are not problem to drive your car. Do not spend your money" He is the best mechanic who I have ever met before. read more

I cannot express enough how happy I am with this group of mechanics. I almost want to keep it a secret how great they are so I can have them to myself lol. If you are looking for honest, knowledgeable mechanics this is the place to go. AND a big plus they do not talk down to you because you are a woman. They explain everything, tell me if I am able to wait to get something fixed due to cost or tell me no you need it now. I am so happy to have found this place! Thank you to Jay & the team!!! read more

Had no idea this phenomenal body shop is in my neighborhood. But, I couldn't be happier when I needed them after a minor accident. Their estimate was within $1 of the insurance company's estimate, so everyone was happy. When Jay, the owner, gave me a tour of the shop and said their goal would be to get my car looking brand new, I didn't really expect that would happen. But, it really did. The repair was flawless, including new paint to match the original. What put it over the top was the complete detailing, inside and out, before I picked up my car. Squeaky clean, just like brand new. Everyone was friendly. They called when they said they would, and kept me in the loop about repair progress. Great place. Honest. Fair. Can't recommend them enough. read more
