I went in for brakes and in the middle of service had a family emergency. They seriously did a ton of work and I was back on the road in 2.5 hours. They offered to show me everything that needed repair and provided excellent friendly speedy service. I can't recommend them enough. I've been trying to find a reasonable and honest car repair service for years, and I am so happy I followed the recommendations and went to these guys. I have been coming to this place for the last two years and had a great experience each time until today. The car I brought in today is an older car that I know is on its way out. I do not feel compelled to keep maintained extensively because I'll probably have a new car by the end of the year -- just basic oil changes and random light bulbs. I'm aware of all the different issues that can be taken care of. But I don't think that I need to be talked down to in order to understand the issues. I'm aware of them. It's fine for a cheap oil change but it's not great for customer service. I won't come here when I don't have to. read more

I came to get my rear brakes and rotors replaced. I called prior for a quote. When my car was put on a lift the mechanic John came out a magically stated my calipers were locked and came up with a price which was 4x what I was actually quoted (1047 for a brake job). Obviously I left, took my car to the dealership who stated nothing was wrong with my calipers. Would be cool if your employees didn't just try to scam people out of money and just do an honest job. Definitely would give zero stars if possible and would not recommend anyone come to this shop!!! read more

I honestly wish I could rate less than one star. In the past I've gone to this location for any needs outside of a normal routine oil change. Batteries, starters, alternators, etc. Recently I was in need of a new battery so I came to this location. The battery was switched out and I was on my way. The interaction that day was just fine. However, the next day my car started acting really really strange. It seemed to be sputtering every time it was in idle--Something it wasn't doing before I got the battery exchange. I return to the location requesting that they checked under the hood to see what could be causing the problem. They claimed they had no idea what it could be and that they needed to run a diagnostic test on the car to be able to find out. The front desk personnel explained to me that it could be a number of things from fuel injector issues to sensors or anything in between. They said that without running the test they would have no idea what the issue was and that there was no flexibility on the pricing of the diagnostic test. I explained that the $70 test wasn't something that was really in my budget and I would rather put that towards trying something that would potentially fix the issue. I remembered that recently when I had an oil change at Valvoline they recommended doing a three step flush of my fuel injector or whatever. I explained that I was due for another Oil change and that I would likely just go to Valvoline to get the oil change and have the flush done. I said that I would do this in hopes that the issue will be fixed and if it wasn't I would return to Midas. At this point the front desk personnel and the manager started to mock me for wanting to go to Valvoline. They made comments about how unprofessional and unexperienced the individuals at Valvoline are. It really put a sour taste in my mouth and so I left. As soon as I lifted my hood at Valvoline the attendant noticed the issue. There was a large crack on my air intake hose that was clear as day. The gentleman there explained to me that the part was only about a $10-$15 part and that I could easily find it online or at a junkyard if I was lucky. He showed me how quick and easy it would be to replace it myself and recommended that I put some duct tape on it in the meantime. I did put duct tape on it and immediately all the lights on my dash turned off my car started acting normal again. For Midas to claim that they were unable to see the issue is absolutely absurd. They claim to be so professional and experienced but are clearly lacking common decency in customer service. They are only working to make money and will strip you of every dime that you have. I returned to Midas in the hopes that I would experience some better customer service after finding out the issue on my own and instead they still treated me as though I didn't know what I was talking about. They claimed that they saw the crack but couldn't be sure that it was the issue... Why they wouldn't have told me that upfront is beyond me. Why they wouldn't have recommended fixing that piece when it was clearly broke is beyond me. Why they wouldn't have said that it at least potentially be the issue is beyond me. They claimed that the part was something that would cost more than $100 normally but that they were lucky to find it for $89.99. After tax and labor and whatever other random fees they added on, they wanted $130 for this hose replacement. No thanks. I Will be taking the recommendation from Valvoline, ordering the piece online, and replacing it myself. I hate to be a skeptic because it's not typically in my nature... But I can't help to think about the fact that my car wasn't having this issue prior to coming in to get my battery exchanged. Obviously I'm not able to prove that this piece was broken in their shop but along with the terrible customer service I felt that it was my responsibility to warn others. We were very dissatisfied with our experience at the Norwood Midas. The service was slow and the prices were insane. Charged us $100 for coolant that would have cost us $10 at any other store and they kept the car sitting in "labor" untouched for at least an hour. When we arrived to pick the car up the mechanics were sitting around and had not called to say they were finished. Will not be going back and definitely would not recommend. What should have been a quick fix for max $200 ended up being a 5 hour $550 ordeal. read more

Went here for an oil change a couple weeks ago. I went on a Thursday evening after work so I expected a line and was fully prepared to wait for a while. I was pleasantly surprised that in fact, I was the only person in the store and that they started changing my oil immediately. 15 minutes later I had paid a reasonable price (about $55 but my car only takes synthetic oil. More basic oil changes run around $20) and was out the door. The staff member I dealt with was friendly and professional. I can't speak to any other Midas services but I will not hesitate to return here for oil changes. read more

Avg. I've come here for oil changes for several years. It's annoying when they try to "up-sell" you for stuff that doesn't really need to be done at the time but I know they have to make their $$. It's good for oil changes, everything else they want an arm and a leg for. If you're somewhat mechanically able and have the time save yourself $1,000's and just YouTube or buy the maintenance manual and do some of the easier stuff yourself. For example, $40 for a cabin air filter replacement is excessive when I can take 15 minutes and a cost of $10 for the filter and do it myself. Customer service here isn't bad other than the constant up-selling. read more

I've taken my car into this Midas location twice, both times having two separate tire issues. The staff was fantastic! On both occasions they squeezed me in to ensure my car would be looked at that day. The mechanics completed the jobs in a timely fashion. If I have future car maintenance I'll definitely be coming back to this Midas. read more

Great Service! I was referred there by someone and was not disappointed. Brad, the manager, and rest of the staff were friendly. Out of all the service garages in Cincinnati, the only one that emailed me back with a quote. Got there when they opened and was done in the estimated time. Hot fresh coffee and clean restroom. They did not try to find other things to make money on, only told me what it needed now. I decided to spend the extra money to get the other caliper replaced even though it did not fail like the one. Recommend making an app't since they are busy due to their fine reputation. I'll be back for normal maintenance and repairs with both my vehicles. read more

My car limped into their parking lot on a Friday afternoon. I thought I needed a thermostat and it actually was a blown (falling apart) water pump and thermostat. Not only do I live paycheck to paycheck, but it's Christmas and I was tapped out financially. Jason arranged very reasonable financing in a few minutes. Derek put their best Tech on the job and kept checking in with me. When it was finished, they checked my brakes based on a previous estimate at another garage, and told me that they were fine. By the time I left, I felt like inviting them to Christmas dinner. Caring, nice (actually, sweet), accommodating, honest, reasonable prices.....I'll be back. DO NOT GET ROBBED!! Derrick, the manager at this Midas, is only there to make money off of you, not to help you fix your car. I went in because my car was overheating and leaking coolant. I told him this and when they looked it over, I was told it was my radiator. It was going to cost about $540 with him giving me a discount for it not needing to be flushed because it was so empty (how nice I thought). When I didn't have the money, he worked his hardest to successfully convince me to fix it by agreeing that I could pay part now and part when I got paid next. Again, I thought how nice. I even went that night and paid in full because I was able to get the rest of what I owed. The day I picked it up, it was running normal in the morning but by my commute home it was running hot again and leaking coolant from the same area as before. I towed it back to Midas and Derrick informed me that it was now my water pump, which would be over another $500 to fix. As a certified mechanic, Midas and Derrick should have tested my radiator system to see if there were other leaks to inform me about or at least should have tested my car after putting in the new radiator to ensure it was not leaking. I made my decision to fix the radiator based on their knowledge that it would fix the overheating issue(the reason I came in in the first place). A GOOD mechanic makes sure to check and inform their customers of what actual repairs are needed before they pay for it. Derrick and Midas did not do this. So now, I'm stuck with debt on my credit card and a useless, non-operational car. I would recommend a local mechanic to a commercialized shop because profits are all that matters at places like Midas. read more
