Took the car here after Grease Monkey kept telling me my brakes were fine and looked "Brand New", suspecting they weren't. Surprise, the brakes were far from okay. They pulled them off and showed me. They also voluntarily patched my spare tire. A year later, and loss of 2 stars. I need 2 new tires on the front of my car. I plan to get a full set of all terrain tires within 6 months and just need to replace the 2. My 2 rear tires are only 2 years old due to an accident where my alignment got knocked so off it ate the tred on 2 of my tires. I still had to buy the tires due to a "betterment" law. The Midas guy already seemed miffed that I needed an oil change, new wipers, and tires replaced. I told him "whatever I can get done today is fine, those are just things I need". He looked at the tires and said he would have to note the invoice that he advised me I should replace all 4. He proceeds to peck at the keyboard for a while then handed me a 1458$ estimate for 259$/ea tires. I told him I don't need 4 and would not be buying 1458$ tires. He said it's just an estimate. To which I said I don't need all 4 just 2. His response was essentially the same. Look, if you are busy or just don't want to do your job, that's fine, don't waste my and your time ignoring what I'm telling you then quoting a ridiculous price so far out of the ballpark that you know I'll leave. Maybe that guy should be a used car salesman. Unfortunately I am seeking a new place to take my car. Within an hour I found 4 brand new all weather tires for less than $500, labor included, and they made an appointment for me instead of huffing about me needing it now, when I explicitly said "Whatever I CAN get done today". read more

We got a flat tire in our brand new Audi a week after buying it, and needed to have it repaired quickly. After being told we'd have to wait two days at one shop nearby, we called Jeremy at Midas on Colorado Blvd, who was able to get us in less than an hour before closing. They quickly repaired the tire while we waited, and were super nice throughout the process. Definitely will make this my new neighborhood shop for any car troubles. This is my first ever review on anything because I have never had such an unprofessional experience in a business. I brought my car in for an oil change done by the team under Ken Archuleta (service manager) . Prior to this oil change I notified the midas team that the oil pan drain plug hex was pretty stripped. The man behind the counter told me that this was "the best case scenario" and it should be "no problem". This comforted me and i felt good about my choice to go to midas. About a half hour later, a team member told me that they cracked the oil pan because they were wrenching on the bolt too hard. This resulted in ME having to pay for a new oil pan and to be without a car for a day until the part came in. They did not own up to this fault of theirs in the slightest and blamed it on the last person that did an oil change. It wasnt broken when I got here, and it was broken within a half hour after arriving. And now im $500 down by no fault of mine. read more

I made an online appointment Sunday afternoon for an oil change Monday at 5pm. Received an email immediately saying I would be contacted within 30 minutes. Never received anything. Called today and was told how very busy they are so that's probably why I didn't get a follow-up. Now, they don't have that time available anymore. I'm going out of town so it was very important that I get in before I leave. Now I have to call around to find another place, during my work hours. I thought I took care of it yesterday. The worst experience my family has had in 24 years living, working, paying taxes and being model citizens in this country. After not being allowed to utilize a pre-paid oil change service and required to pay agin anyway, my 66 year old dad said that it wasn't fair that it was happening as he was paying for the service. The guy told him that this is America and that if my dad wanted to complain he can go back to his country. I live in Philadelphia now so I called the store and spoke with a guy name Drew who was professional and handled the situation fine. We took our car there for an oil change and a brake checkup last month because the rear brakes were noisy. They said the brakes looked great and that it was probably just gravel that was making the noise. I mentioned that I hadn't had the brake pads changed since I bought the car, and they said the pads looked fine. Three weeks later the brakes started screeching and whining, so we took our car to a friend's mechanic, and they showed us that the brake pads were completely worn. We have barely driven this past month. I don't see how they could have possibly done the inspection and not noticed that our car needed new pads. read more

Although I've been here many times I'm very disappointed that they have an appointment line where they request that you make an appointment and the morning of your scheduled oil change they call to say they are too busy and reschedule via telephone. Fail. Not the first time this has happened. 4 months ago when I went in to have tires rotated they didn't get my hubcap on tightly and it was lost within 24 hours. I should have known to double check, but honestly shouldn't have to. I have lost several oil caps over many years shortly after bringing vehicles here also. A couple of years ago I had extensive work done by them on my van. Just over a year later I had the exact same problem again because it wasn't done quite right. They do take care of the elderly getting them in and out quickly even without appointments. read more

My turn signals weren't working, and it was evident that something needed to be done to get the wiring back in order. Not knowing much about mechanics, I took my car in and was told they would have to do a diagnostic. The diagnostic cost me $100, and another $30 to fix the problem. After speaking with my father about the process he was furious and told me there was no reason to have done the diagnostic - the problem would have been simple enough to fix given the information I provided and the diagnostic they run is just a way to rip people off. Don't even allow them to touch your wheels! I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Going in, my wheels had only minimal cosmetic dings. Their techs were so careless and abusive that they allowed the air hose to glance off of my mags making huge gouges, and they stripped the threads on my chromed lug-nuts (which fell apart). In doing a $40 service, they did $400 in damage. (I hate anybody who hurts my car.) read more

This shop rocks!! I have been taking my car here for a few years, because they were the closest place to my old house. After moving, I decided to return because I never got the usual "You're boning me" feeling that I get from every other autoshop I've ever been to. I needed new brakes, and figured I'd better do the oil change. Dennis is the service manager, he is awesome. Fast, efficient, and friendly, always has a great attitude and will take make sure to listen to what you need rather than just grab the key and try to run up the bill. Every time I've taken my car there, the mechanic calls me up, gives me the rundown on what I need, and always makes sure to emphasize what I need now and what I will need at some point in the future (and when that would be), rather than tell me if I drop $800 now I will save $1200 later. So that's what happened Saturday, they had my car for a bout 4 hours, which was pretty quick considering the amount of customers they had. I was, as usual, very happy. But here's the best part: Today, 5 days later, Dennis calls to thank me for my business and to make sure that everything on the car is working well! When's the last time someone thought to treat a customer like that?! Even without the honesty and good prices and discounts they always have, that alone is enough for me to keep taking every car I ever own to them. Way to go, MIdas! Late Saturday night I noticed my tire was low, by the next morning it was almost flat. So many places are closed on Sundays,but I called Midas and Nico explained that they were swamped with a full schedule but they would try and fit me in. Within 2 hours, Nico had called and said they were able to fix the tire. Nico was professional and very nice. I will go back to this Midas in the future. What great customer service! read more

Bad mechanics and even worse customer service. I bought new tires and had my Cat replaced by these mechanics. They returned my car with my engine light still on and a leak in the exhaust system. They needed to order "stock" parts for my pathfinder. After six weeks of waiting and trying to contact them multiple times, Joe told me they had already called me back and returned my parts. I asked to speak to the manager, Heather, who had never returned my call after telling me she was looking into the parts on multiple occasions. Frustrated, I went to the Nissan dealership and they diagnosed and fixed my exhaust before noon the same day. I strongly believe I was being scammed and disrespected playing phone tag. Stay away from here for anything more complicated than an oil change and a cup of bad coffee. read more

Went there on a Sunday morning with a screw in one of my tires. I was told by the person at the front desk it would be at least an hour before my car was even looked at and most likely 30+ minutes after that to fix the tire. I asked if I could set an appointment, drive my vehicle a short distance because it was definitely drive-able and then return in 1.5 hrs. I was told my vehicle would be placed back in line and would wait in the order it was received in. Then he told me they only have two technicians working on Sundays (even though they know they're one of the only places open on Sundays).... I view this as a missed opportunity. The person at the front desk could not have moved any slower. Seriously, he was in NOOO hurry with me or anyone else. Years later, the technician came out to talk to me. I had walked across the street to do some shopping. The tech said he found nothing in my tire....but he DID find a very large screw in another tire and it was leaking like crazy. (He had been looking at the wrong tire completely. He even took the wrong tire off the vehicle to test it before he read the lead sheet which clearly indicated which tire, which side of the vehicle, etc.) The technician then asked me if I wanted him to fix the leak. Um...nope...just wanted to see if you could find the screw in the tire and then I was planning on driving off with a complete flat. Thanks! "Yes", I said to the tech, "yes, I would like you to fix the flat tire that I came in here for you to fix". Hard to find good help these days, apparently. UGH. read more

I went in because I had a squeak coming from my wheels. They told me they thought it was the gear box and they wanted to replace it. $550 later, the squeak was still there and they broke off my front fog light and didn't even bother telling me. I caught Ben lying to me about test driving my vehicle and he then later said, "Well, they're supposed to so I'm sure they did." They ended up just gluing my fog light back on. When I demanded he get a new part, he said he'd call me but never did. Then my fog light fell off again 4 days later and I'm just going to have to replace it myself. And the original problem never got solved. Thanks Midas for keeping the standard at mechanics low. P.S. It's been over a month since this happened... now I've been having fraudulent charges on my account from automotive shops in England. I'm guessing it's probably from Ben and his shady practices. I recently had my entire exhaust system replaced here. It was done for nearly half the price the dealership quoted me, which was such a relief. The owner was also extremely nice, and gave me a ride back to my apartment while my car was getting fixed. I've been taking my car here for the past few years. I get oil changes and they do everything that needs to be done, in a very timely fashion. My windshield wiper fluid tank or a tube was broken so they figured out what was wrong and fixed it. But the fluid kept leaking after so I brought it in again a few months later and they found the real problem, fixed it up and no charge! I've been missing a hubcap cover for some time now and they told me they randomly had one lying around and it put on my tire. I thought that was so cool! They do a great job and I'll keep going back. If you don't know anything about cars, like me, don't go here. I had my car towed to Midas the other day because of a flat tire and I didn't have a spare. I thought maybe I could just have the tire repaired. The guy was friendly enough but told me it was a type of tire that couldn't be repaired and would be 288 dollars to replace. He wanted a deposit immediately. I said I would have to think about it and went to Big O tires the next day. They recommend a different tire that could possible be repaired if something happened to it, and they were able to do everything for 118. read more

Do not bring your car here. It took them THREE tries to put my summer tires on correctly so obviously I was without my car for over a week over what should have been a simply tire change. They blamed their incompetence on my tires as if their problem was mine. Once my car was finally done I went to pick it up when they were closing and they said it was too much of an inconvenience to get it from the garage because they had to move other car to get mine out. So I had to come back AGAIN to get my back the next day and I was without a car another day. Very poor customer service. Winter is now approaching so I decided to take my car to my good old standby mechanic (that's out of the way for me but at least I know I will get good customer service and my tires will be put on correctly the first time) and they just informed me that my summer tires that Midas put on are absolutely not coming off and my wheels have serious damage from stripping. Keep in mind that this mechanic is top of the line and very honest which is why I'm a loyal customer. I decided to go to Midas because they were right across the street from my work so I could just drop my car off at lunch and walk over after work and pick it up. What a mistake. Just take the advice and take your car and business elsewhere. Update: new manager is much better! They came and picked my car up to make things right. An essential rod of the clutch of my 2000 Honda Civic broke on the evening of Friday 6th November, about six blocks north of the South Colorado Midas shop. Saturday morning, my wife and I pushed it down Colorado Blvd like a pair of hoosiers :) Saturday afternoon, it was repaired for $379. Shane and Brian were prompt and professional, and showed me the broken part so as to explain the repair. 20180430 Update: The aforementioned car burned-out a distributor wire on a Monday morning, and I babyed it across town to the very same shop. Five hours and $550 later (includes $120 diagnostics), my distributor cap, wires, plugs, and rotor are replaced, with tune-up. Nobody likes auto repairs, expected or otherwise, but the bitter pill is easier to swallow if you trust the shop. read more

Today, we rolled into Midas on a flat tire. We're super broke and needed the car tonight, and we had already arrived around 4pm and they closed at 6. We thought for sure that they were going to tell us that we had to wait till tomorrow to get a new tire. We were pleasantly surprised! Tony helped us well beyond his call of duty. He called a tire delivery man that was on his way to the shop immediately to add our tire to the order, and got us an economy tire that we could afford in about the time it took us to eat lunch across the street. Found a nail/screw in my wife's tire and the tire was leaking and I was afraid it was going to go flat and need a tow or spare. I took my 2016 wrx in for a oil change. I was quoted 45 minutes it ended up taking over 5 hours due to not having a correct oil filter. Then later on I take my car in for a check at the dealership. And was notified that Midas put the wrong oil in my car and the dealership voided my warranty. After speaking with Midas all they say is the newer ones take 0w20... but mine take 5w30 not the same at all Absolutely worst service I have ever revived. read more

I'm sorry to have grievances with this location because the staff, in spite of my bad experiences, were actually quite genuine and nice. I got an oil change here one time, years ago. The guy was nice enough to squeeze me in between two other appointments because I showed up at the shop. Months later, while getting my car worked on for other reasons at a completely different company's shop, the mechanic showed me how full the oil was in my car, and told me that such high levels can be dangerous. Seems that the nice mechanic, in rushing me through the oil change, put too much oil in. Years later, I showed up to get new tires (I'll never again buy a high-ticket item such as four new tires, simply after showing up and letting someone talk me into the purchase...). The guy at the counter was super nice and helpful. He even gave me a free alignment with the purchase of four new tires. He even set up the payment so that the payment wouldn't be processed until the next day, when I came back to get the tires installed. I came back, got the tires installed. I thought I was getting a great deal... Unfortunately, there was a new person working the counter that next day. Turns out, that new person was, she admitted, some big fancy tire specialist for the company. As I spoke with her, I could see my car being lowered down from the jack, with the four new tires already installed, I asked her about the tires that I had purchased, and how good they were. She smirked and said, "Well, they're okay." She pointed to some other tires on a diagram on the counter. "These other ones are better." Oh, that made me feel great. I had just dropped $550 and thought that I got the best deal for my money. I wish she had been at the shop the day before! read more
