Rude mechanic who called me to inform me that my brake repair would cost over $2000 due to other "issues" they diagnosed on my car. I asked him if it was the front or rear brakes and he said front, when I clearly knew it was the rear brakes that needed to be replaced after going to a number of other places. He then fumbled over the exact price for a while before I told him I didn't want to do the repair at Midas. I came here for a routine oil change for my Prius. I requested an appointment online before they opened and was never contacted (even after they opened, and within 30 minutes, as is stated as policy on their website), so I decided to drive over anyway. I was quickly helped and I waited about 45 minutes for the oil change to be completed. They had college football playing and complimentary coffee and teas. They checked the air in my tires and filled them for free. As a young female, I understand I am even more at risk than the standard patron to be upsold. That's why when I was told that my tires needed replacing I kindly declined. I know that this practice is standard in the auto world- you gotta make money somehow - but it still made my visit 4 stars and not 5 stars. I was able to use the Yelp check-in coupon and the 2 men that helped me out were great. I asked twice if the service included "floor board vacuum, windshields cleaned, tire pressure/fluid top off, inspection etc" as the massive sign above the counter advertised. They assured me it did. When my "service" was done I could tell immediately atleast 1 tire was low, windshields/floor boards hadn't been touched & water had been added into my windshield fluid reservoir. This made me question wether ANY of the service i had paid for had been performed. When I asked the same manager to make it right, in all his wisdom his response was "we ain't a detail shop". Went for a tire repair because there was a bolt stuck in my tire. Came in this morning with no appointment and they were able to help me as soon as I arrived. My van was done less than half an hour. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband usually brings our cars in but this was my first time and they recognized my vehicle and it was good to know that they pay attention to those types of details. I visited Midas yesterday for an oil change after going to my dealership down the street, and being quoted double for the same service. At my dealership, the service provider tried to up sell me $500+ in services and charge me $90 for an oil change. Frustrated with their poor customer service, I drove to the village parkway midas and within 30 minutes, had a synthetic oil change for almost half the cost the dealership was quoting me. Furthermore, I was not hassled to purchase more services. I was made aware of filters needing to be changed, but was provided the option and it was respected when I said I'd see if my husband wanted to do it first. I am kicking myself for forgetting the name of the helpful and respectful provider here, although he was a breath of fresh air after being rudely dealt with at my car dealership. The service was fast, straight forward, and much appreciated. I would definitely return just for those reasons alone. read more

I discovered this place by accident when my engine light went on while I was visiting my mom in San Ramon. After checking for what's causing the light to go on (low on oil) and doing an oil change, they told me that my tires were worn out, so I also got some new tires during that visit. The guy told me I didn't have to replace the tires now, but will have to replace them soon eventually, so I did it because he was so honest and did not pressure me at all. Warning: This place charges for services they do not actually complete. And they lie to you about it. Absolutely do not recommend coming here if you'd like to drive your car for a reasonable lifespan. We brought our car here for a transmission fluid change and nothing seemed wrong with the service at the time. However, our car didn't seem to drive better after the fluid change - which seemed fishy. After moving to a new city we went to 2 different local shops seeking consultations. Both of these places were super honest and told us they couldn't do a transmission fluid change on our car model after opening up the hood, and told us that we'd need to go directly to Toyota. Last week we did the fluid change at Toyota. Our car is noticeably smoother when driving now. However, to our extreme dismay, Toyota evaluated our car and found that no transmission fluid change had EVER been done on our car, which can only mean that this place (the only other place we've paid for the procedure) completely lied to us a year ago. This location charged us for a full transmission fluid change, never told us anything, and definitely DID NOT do any work on our car. Complete frauds - and extremely dangerous - that they would send customers off without servicing our vehicles whatsoever and taking our money. My car was in perfect working condition and after the oil change my car wouldn't start. They blamed my car for breaking while they were changing the oil. They charged me for diagnosing the thing they broke and than sent me on my way with a car that doesn't start now. They also didn't diagnose the car properly only a guess. I have been a loyal Dublin Midas customer for many years. Last week, I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told it would be $20 for a tire rotation, even though the coupon said it was included in the oil change price. The next morning when I left for work it was drizzly and I cut on my wipers and both had a 8 inch piece hanging off of them. That was odd because they were fine the day before. I sent a request online to Midas corporate to talk and have heard nothing in a week. I got a text from the local Midas wanting to know how my experience was. I told them, "I am not happy". He texted back and I sent him the picture and asked him to call. No response. All they did was destroy the trust they had built over the years. I can't prove they did that to my wiper blades, but I know in my heart, they were fine the day before. They had a display of wipers in the lobby, so I imagine there was an incentive to sell wipers. I will never take any of our cars back, as I need to be able to trust the person working on my car. As a follow-up to your recommendation to contact you: It's funny, I went on the website to the location your recommended TWICE and have not heard back. Expensive and not competent or thorough. I went in for a tire rotation and when I checked out, the checkout sheet said that they had adjusted the tire pressure to the manufacturer recommended one. A few miles after driving, the tire pressure light came on, suggesting that the technicians had not bothered to adjust it but wrongly claimed that they had. I received a text requesting feedback and mentioned that they had wrongly claimed that the tire pressure was set to the correct one. I never even heard back from them. Woke up Saturday morning with car not starting - after several attempts finally able to start but check engine light on. Called Junior at Midas/Dublin, CA and he suggested bringing it in for a diagnosis and most likely could fix Saturday, if not by Sunday. Within an hour of our drop off, car was being diagnosed. Junior asked if possible to keep overnight to experience cold start but results would be available by Sunday morning11am. I added oil change since car was needing one. Buyer beware. They advertise a free tire rotation but they will come up with every excuse in the book not to do it. My tires have 21k miles on them, one has 3k miles on it and I had examined them yesterday. Today they told me the tires are bald. No they are not. Also they were suppose to rotate them last time I was there and they did not do it then either. They told me last time they didn't have the time there was too many people waiting since I can in without an appointment. Midas I will no longer be coming here and giving you my business and no I will not be buying tires from you since you are not an honest business. In response to the owners comments. For argument sake lets pretend one tire is bald like you claim. You didn't rotate them the previous time either. If you had rotated them like you were supposed to do and like I paid for I wouldn't have a bald tire like you claim. Also they don't give you a discount when they don't rotate regardless if they say it's your fault or there's. My wife's Honda Odyssey needed brake and some front-end work. Took it into Midas on Saturday (without an appointment or call ahead). I described the issues my wife had relayed to me to the Midas guys, and they said they'd give me a call after running diagnostic tests. A little bit later I get the call telling me what they found, and what the damages would be. Given it's automotive repair, the estimates looked okay, and I appreciated the discounts. I was told her vehicle would be ready by 4:30. At around 3:30 I get a follow-up call telling me everything is done, and the vehicle was ready to pick up. I was driving in from Monterey, today, father's day. I called on the entire trip home, looking for someone to change my battery immediately. I could not turn the car off, without requiring another jump start, as my battery was toast. I had no luck at all. I stopped in Dublin and called Midas, but got no answer, and I assumed they were closed. With. 1 minute, the manager Mark called me back. When I explained my situation, he told me to come right over and they would take care of me, which they did. They performed a full diagnostic as well, to be certain the battery was the only problem. It was only after they completed the work that I found out they closing within 30 minutes, on father's day Sunday. I cannot say enough nice things about the manager and staff of the Dublin location.
