Dropped my car off for a oil change. I am a expert at cars but it was a busy weekend so I had to drop it off. They called me and said that there's not a fully sealed oil pan and tried to scam me. My bad experience with Midas Dublin. 1. Price: To change the rear differential fluid was initially quoted $150, twice that of the dealership and when I told them the dealer price Midas brought the price down. Not sure if Midas was Price matching or really quoted high. 2. Attention to Detail: My vehicle's Front Right tires was leaking air and I knew there was a small puncture. When I dropped the vehicle for service told them about this and service rep noted them. Once the service was done I was notified that nothing was wrong. After me insisting that there is a leak. They went back and found the leak. This made me think about the attention to detail. 3. Taking me for a ride: On leak that they did not find on the first run, was notified that the puncture was there and its on the sides and they don't fix them if they are there. Was notified that all 4 tires ($800+) or at least 2 tires($545 - for the same brand) needs to be changed as its a all wheel drive. As I wasn't sure whether to believe Midas's diagnosis anymore, took my vehicle to another shop and found that the nail was on the flat portion (between the 2nd and 3rd thread) and can be easily fixed. Recently started taking both my Accord and MDX to Midas Dublin after my friend recommended good things about the service department, they even responded to all my questions and are real friendly. Considering the last few events that made me question their quality, I would be skipping this place for good. read more

Excellent service and team! They helped me with both of my cars. My Honda CR-V had a service message appear on my dash. Ernesto took a look, and spent time explaining the routine services he would perform, and what to expect in the near future. Later, my Toyota Sienna had a clicking sound while turning. Hugo took a test drive with me and diagnosed the problem. Although he could have given me a quote to replace the gear shaft, he insisted I bring the car to the dealer and have them cover it under warranty. That's honest service. ***STAY AWAY FROM HERE!**** I came here last Saturday to get my brakes fixed since I have got Life time warranty on brake pads from my service here 2 years ago. I know the policy and I know that I only have to pay for labor, which was around $130. When I came here, I waited an hour for them to diagnose my car. An hour later, they told me that I have to freaking pay $950 for my breaks and all these other bells and whistles to my car. Slow and forgot to put parts back on my vehicle. I went to Midas to get a simple oil change and tire rotation for my full-size SUV. The whole process took approximately an hour and a half, which could have been cut in half if the employees weren't standing around and talking for approximately 30 to 40 minutes of that time. I would periodically look into the garage, while waiting, and would observe four to five employees standing around talking and joking not doing any work. I am all off for a fun work environment, but the work needs to get done at the same time. Furthermore, while observing the employees working on my car, my tire, quite literally, rolled out of the garage towards the main road. An employee had to go running after it prior to it getting to the street. With all of this in mind I paid approximately $90 for an oil change and free tire rotation. I was later contacted by Midas who informed me that they forgot to return, and put back on, the Lugnuts covers on one of my tires after they conducted the tire rotation. I responded back to Midas, picked up the Lugnut covers, and put them on myself. Based on the poor attention to detail and lack of work ethic displayed during my interaction at this business, I will not be returning for service. read more

I'm not too satisfied that this Midas location -- one previously linked to a $1.8 million fraud settlement involving a previous owner -- has moved beyond its troubled past. The location, one of 22, was part of a settlement around a scam in which customers were charged for unnecessary repairs (among other allegations). On Sunday, July 27, I paid a visit to get an oil change done for my wife's Acura. I had forgotten that I'd deliberately avoided this place for years, since I was contacted by Midas saying I was also among the victims of this scam for break service repair to my car. Nonetheless, I paid a visit. While the staff was cordial, I made it clear I wanted an oil change alone. Nothing more. When I walked over to check on the car, it was propped up and they were inspecting my tires, gently alluding to a potential issue. This went against what I had expressed when I dropped the car off. Finally, the oil changer himself pointed to an oil-splashed oil pan and suggested that there may be a leak. I reminded him, clearly, that this car had no leak and that, if there were one now, it can be attributed to The Midas Touch. Given this exchange, I am now watching my wife's car closely. Now, I'm not saying this place is operating the same as it was in 2009; but I am cautious and not too trusting, and this visit confirmed for me that I will not be returning. read more

My experience with this Midas wasn't as bad as the other reviewers', but it definitely wasn't very good. I took my car there for an alignment check ($80), and I was called back with a huge list of things that they wanted to fix, for a grand total of $600. I fixed only the essential, after negotiating the price down significantly from the original quote. If you do go here, check online to see if you can find the part(s) cheaper, because Midas REALLY marks up their part prices. The part I needed, the tie rod, is $40 at Kragen, and they tried to charge me $200 before I asked about it. Also, they returned my car to me with a dead battery and greasy handprints all over the inside of the driver side door. read more

"Well let's see I decided to go to Midas since I received a coupon from Safeway for a $24.99 oil change. Well let me tell you that it was a BIG MISTAKE. This oil changed cost me more than I bargained for. Before the end of my oil change they brought it to my attention that the oil pan / gasket was over torqued by the last person who did my oil change. And then they asked me if my car was leaking prior and I said nope my car has no problems and no leaks. Well let's just say the very next day I start having a leak under my car. But prior to me going home after my visit they forgot to screw the plastic cover in front of my car. So right when I got on the freeway it fell which freaked my kids and I out because I had to pull over the freeway and wait for someone to come out and fix the problem. The person that came out mentioned that that the worker that worked under my car was new and it's our mistake blah blah blah. Now back to the next day when I noticed I had the leak I had to go back to Midas and for them to point out that it might be 50% their fault so they will give me free labor but I have to pay for the full parts cost. Then I said no - I want to talk to the owner andI told him the story from the beginning and he was nice enough to pay 50% of the parts. Out of pocket for me was $110 plus 2 days now spent at Midas. Now for the 3rd time of having to go back to Midas a new person works on my car who is said to be really experienced in changing oil pans and gaskets. Boy were they wrong again. I waited a couple of weeks but still there was still an oil leak. So I went to Toyota to get a 2nd opinion which cost me $90. Their diagnostics were that there is an engine / oil leak from the oil pan. To fix it they need to pull the pan off and reseal. I then called the owner at Midas to relay the message. Now for a 4th time I had to go back to Midas for them to fix the problem they first started. Now for a company to stay open when they cannot do a simple oil change is RIDICULOUS. Also for people to come and say they did a great job! Yeah right!!! All the employees enrolled here are using your cars as a tutorial. Trust me when I say they forgot to do something and your car will break down. It's a promise that Midas in Dublin guarantees. I will never go back here - I feel bad for Abdul (the owner) he has a good heart but a lot of failures in the hiring department. DO NOT USE MIDAS IN DUBLIN OR ANYWHERE ELSE - they don't back up their work!! I used to be a loyal long-time customer of 15 years until I made the big mistake of trying the Midas shop in Dublin, CA. Despite all the negative reviews, it was conveniently close to my home so I thought I'd give it a try now that they got rid of the franchisee and turned it into a corporate owned location... WRONG!! Their tech ruined my original factory parts, they had me there a total of FIVE times for simple brake job, hours of lost time and frustration led to them using my car as a "training tool" to show their techs how to NOT over-cut rotors which they did the first time around. Only six months after the training episode, my car starts shaking again!! They didn't give me the courtesy of replacing my ruined original parts with the same and instead used cheap after market NAPA rotors which are overheating and wearing unevenly causing unsafe vibration and shaking when I'm driving. Now the shop went back to being a franchise and the owner "Abdul" refuses to help with the situation only pointing fingers at "corporate". Now Midas has been bought out by a giant conglomerate Tire Kingdom and their Consumer Affairs Supervisor named Cat and her direct report David were the most unfriendly, uncooperative people I have EVER dealt with. In all my years in high-tech Corporate America training others on the importance of "customer experience", I have never experienced such a team of uncooperative, self-serving people who clearly don't understand the meaning of "accountability". The managers who were involved at the time are all gone from the company now - surprise, surprise. Folks, in the new era, it's all about customer experience. Consumers have choices. After all this, they send me to their corporate store last week in Hayward on Mission he's trying to gauge me for all new rotors and drums after only a year of being used - a quote of over $600 to "fix" the situation. I'm all about integrity and even offered to pay for their labor cost of $240 to redo my brakes - not trying to get a "free brake job" as they accuse me of - just want justice here as it pertains to the parts their original technician damaged. No can do, they flat out refuse stating...and I quote Cat in Consumer Affairs - "there is nothing we can do for you" .... I'm ready to call the local news and have this location on camera with Mike Finney. There are plenty of honorable people out there who will stand behind their work rather than lose a long-standing good customer over a measly $400. I figured I'd update my review since it's been almost a year & half since my first review :) I have gone back here multiple times after my first review. For regular oil changes & for what seems to be my endless need for tires (don't worry, I've taken about 3 cars here so that's the reason why) I always drop my car in the morning & just leave it for the day while I work, which is always super convenient! They have a shuttle available if it's not already out, FYI! One of the employees, Herman, is always there to greet me with a smile & knows me by name. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing when your car guy knows you right off the bat but HEY, I'll take it! lol. All their employees are very friendly & forthcoming about work being done on your car. A rarity in this industry, I am just sayin' They take care of me each time I am there & I have never had any problems :) Almost 2 years taking my car(s) here & I still recommend them! read more

I don't see how this place is still in business. I told my mother that we shouldn't go here because of their notoriety, but she insisted we go because it is close and time is money and since she was a previous customer. Their free brake inspection (around noon) told us that we needed new pads, turn the front rotors, and replace the rear rotors saying that there were only 20 thousandths left to machine away from the rotors, all this for roughly $600. A quick call to Acura of Pleasanton, and they questioned the rear rotor replacement as they rarely do that on such a young car. We declined the service (4 pm) and went to a different shop the following day. They told us we had 30 thou' left on the rear rotor and that it didn't need to be replaced. They installed pads/resurfaced rotors all around for $400 and we were in and out in less than 2 hours. 10 thou' may not sound like a lot, but that is a 50% inflation of the numbers and a 100% lie in my book. Screw these guys, don't let them Midas touch your car. read more

I've been here several times, and it's hit or miss. Sometimes they will change my oil and be polite, the next time they tell me everything is wrong with my car and I need to pay over $2k to get everything fixed. I have a feeling it has something to do with when I'm there alone and when my boyfriend is with me. Last time I was there I was told I needed new spark plugs, I told him ok, I can handle that on my own. He laughed and said "do you EVEN know how important this is? Midas has totally earned my loyalty along with the legions. Seriously, if you are wondering where to have your oil changed, fluids checked, etc., don't have time to wait around, and don't want to worry about getting shysterized, look no further. The second I drove in, a very smiley tech descended on my car and expressed sincere gratitude for my business .I asked the techs to check my transmission fluid, which they did. They informed me happily that it was full and clean, not needing any attention at the moment. I sooooo appreciated the honesty. These guys are the best - don't bother going anywhere else! Here are a few reasons why I would come back: They were polite, understanding and happy to answer all of my questions. I never feel like I am being overcharged/up sold for any service I always feel like they are looking out for the maintenance of my car I always arrive feeling welcome I always depart feeling taken care of A++ guys. In summary, though I don't live in the area I will always come to this Midas when I have the option. This should be the first place you go to see how customers are treated ~ right. read more

Update: Apparently the manager or the owner messages me to know what went wrong g with my service, I give him all the information and my phone number to look it up. He does his homework and replies me back in a very rude manner saying he cannot be held hostage with the reviews? Instead of fixing what was wrong he tries to bully me with his message. I called for a price quote on an oil change yesterday. was told it would be 24$. This morning when i called i was quoted at 40$. This was annoying but ok whatever. My boyfriend droped me off at work and went to have the oil change done, he called me and said they only charged him 30$. Why three different prices for a simple oil change midas??? Every time I need a fix for my car, whether it's an oil change, broken tail light, or even a tire rotation it's a no brainer where I'll be headed;Midas. Not only is the customer service beyond excellent but the quality of the work being done is superb. The workers are always kind and quick to tell jokes! Which always makes a difference between my choice of car repairs/oil changers. The set up of their waiting room is a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere that makes the waiting time go by a lot quicker! From magazines to the interesting tv show they have on, it's a nice little gesture for us customers! They even have a station for making warm Drinks while you wait! I was referred to come here after getting routine oil change at my dealership when they found two nails in my tire. They quoted me $724 for just one tire. I decided go to Big O tires near my work in San Leandro. Guess what? Larry took a look & was able to pull out one very tiny nail that wasn't even fully embedded & only charged $25.00 for other nail repair. It sure pays off to get 2nd opinion. Double negative stars is what this place needs. My daughter in law had a tire issue the other day and ended up at Midas. She is just home from Afghanistan visiting us on leave. Had she called us before she went to Midas we would have sent her to Big O. As usual Midas in Dublin, CA lived up to their BS antics and it ended up costing her $180 to fix her tire and the tire pressure gauge. The tire pressure monitor wouldn't reset and when she went back for the third time they told her it was another bad tire and it would be another $180. She went to Big O from there and had it done way cheaper. Her quote was "I was treated better in Afghanistan than Midas". Come on people we have way more things to worry about than to be mistreated by local businesses!!! read more

I just drove in this morning to have my tire pressure checked since the car felt odd while driving. They already seemed to be having a super busy day at 7:30AM and I felt I was going to be showed the door or asked to make an appointment (Yes, I am a dunce when it comes to my car *honest blink* ) A kind gentleman asked me to bring the car over and checked the tire pressure. As I sit here in the customer waiting area, I felt now would be a good time to throw another great review down for Abdul and the team at Midas Dublin. This is the only shop I have visited for an oil change since I first started coming here, and it shall remain the only shop I take my car to for this regular maintenance. I was greeted by a technician before I even reached the door this morning. I showed up with no appointment and was told it would be about 20 minutes before they could start my oil change. As I type this, just like clockwork, the vehicle that the tech said they needed to finish on is being pulled out of the bay to make room for my car--almost exactly 20 minutes after I arrived. Awesome! I also mentioned to the technician that I had a coupon on my phone and that I'm a regular customer. He didn't ask to see the coupon, nor did I get any flack for being a thrifty customer. My air filter is in need of replacement, and I brought my own (otherwise it's almost double the cost) and again, no problem whatsoever..."Sure we can pop that in for you!"...these guys are great. Did I mention that I'm female and have never come here with a man? I have never, ever felt as if I'm being swindled or treated dishonestly due to my gender. Furthermore, the service I have received here has always been prompt, courteous, and honest. I read thru some of the negative reviews on here and I wonder if these folks are even writing about the same shop?? So, bravo to the boys at Midas Dublin.
