These folks are top notch. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonably priced. Not only is the staff great, but so are the mechanics. I went in for an oil change and they spent 2 hours inspecting my car and helping out with other things that were needed, like replacing burnt out lights, adding additional needed fluids, etc. So here is where they really shined: They tried to remove my 3rd brake light but couldn't get it off. They didn't want to break it, so they left it as is. Unfortunately the 3rd brake light started leaking water after that point (from rain exposure). I let Midas know about it and they offered to replace the 3rd break light free of charge. I only had to pay for the part. Turns out the reason why they had difficulty removing the 3rd brake light on the 1st attempt was because it still had the original manufacturer seal around it from nearly 20 years ago. The seal had solidified over time. Anyway they were able to replace the 3rd brake light and it works perfectly now for the first time in 17 years, and there are no more leaks. Really impressed with their knowledge base, skills, and excellent customer service. A big thank you to everyone at this location. I am a customer for life. read more

Anytime I try to have my car serviced outside of the dealer there's complications. This time was no different. I asked the dealer for an estimate on brakes all-around, and was quoted $4385. I said yeah right and called midas. I made the appointment and dropped the car off. Lynne greeted me and said she'd be calling shortly, which she did. I needed four rotors along with brakes and electronic sensors for all wheels. She had to order rotors twice before finding the right ones and brakes were ordered four different times before finding the ones I needed. I have a Jaguar and that's what makes locating parts a nightmare but Lynne did an amazing job and it cost less than a third of what the dealer quoted. read more

The guys here were super helpful and didn't screw me over. AND they were all super friendly, and definitely not in that creepy over-friendly way like some mechanics are. YAY! The guy behind the counter also helped me entertain the kidlet while we waited for the brakes to be delivered. Losing one star for a lack of speed to get the brakes from the brake supply guy and not having a healthy amount of on hand varieties but I see the point... they're simply pressed for space. The actual time it took for the guy to put my brakes on and get me ready to go was less than the amount of time waiting for them to be delivered (and they still work!) They were a bunch cheaper than what my dealer wanted too, and how can you hate on lifetime brakes? They worked fine on my old car, and I'm stopping perfectly well in my new one. I agree with the previous reviews left here. These guys are great. I noticed the other reviewers are female, but they were super nice to me too! The work space is clean. I had a vehicle inspection appt for 9 am ; they started early and had me out the door in before 9am. I asked for the paper mat they use to keep the interior clean and they gave me extras because my floor mats were on order. I asked for the used one and they offered 4 new ones-nice touch, guys. I really needed to get my vans oil changed before going to Idaho. Drove by Jiffy Lube, of course there was a lot of people there then I drove by Midas. I went in and there was a lady at front desk. I explained my situation, asked her how long, said an hour. That was too long for me either, and I asked her where else I could go- then she decided to help me right away. It's nice that there's some businesses out there that do care about you. Definitely giving them 5 stars- they even have nice toy box filled with toys for kids! read more

I drive a Hummer H2 and took it in for an oil change and rear brakes. My rotors were cracked and the vehicle was basically unsafe. Once the oil change was done Scott had me take a look at the cracked rotors with a flash light. Both Lynn and Scott educated me about different types of rotors (high performance/standard) and all my different options. We use the vehicle to tow a trailer and after we went through all the options/education we were able to order the rotors and get me back on the road. My main reason for writing the review is because they took the time to educate me, explain my options and answered all my questions.....and I had a lot of questions. I'm not one to sit in the lobby and wait for my car...I want to go in the vehicle bay and stick my head under the hood and understand what and why I need what I need. Lynn is so amazing and helpful and you are so lucky to have this wonderful woman working for you. She is a true gem!! Clean waiting room, friendly and courteous staff, quick service & affordable prices - I don't know what's not to like. Took my pickup here to get a new set of tires mounted, balanced and installed. They had me in and out and down the road in under 90 minutes. Prices were very, very fair. Like I said, the staff was friendly & professional, even early on a Saturday morning before my coffee kicked in. I was referred to Midas by Discount Tire to fix a lug stud they had broken. I went to Midas and the service was friendly enough. I received a call later on and they had said that the brake shoe fell off. They wanted to charge me $125 dollars to put it back on. The brake shoe sits right behind the stud and my guess is that they had to break or remove it to get the lug stud in there. They are refusing to fix it now unless I pay. I'd understand if it's an old part and they had said it might cost more to replace or fix but this is unacceptable. * UPDATE * I went to the store to pick up my vehicle and they showed me the part that fell off. It was corroded and well worn. It basically broke off. I've updated my review but didn't give them 5 stars because the over the phone explanation was not great and misleading. They even repaired my other stud for free (it broke off during the repair). read more

Nope! My husband was calling around looking for a place to get his back brakes done. He already had his front brakes done not that long ago when he got his tires changed. Not at Midas though. He called to see if they could do them they gave him a quote that was very reasonable and gave him an 8 a.m. appointment. He got up early on a Saturday the only day he sleeps in LOL we drove down there dropped off the car. When we walked in the acknowledged him by name and said 8:00 appointment? He said yes then he said we're just doing the back brakes correct the guy looks at him a little confused and said yeah but we have to check the whole brake system he said yeah I just had my front brakes done. He said yeah we have your phone number is this correct? Yep they had the correct number and they said they would call him with any information or when the car was done he had been told on the phone at setting up the appointment it would take about 2 hours. So about an hour and 45 minutes later we drive back after waiting around and having breakfast he comes in and they haven't even started on his car yet. They took a peek at it is all. Told him his back brakes needed to be done and his front brakes were low.. Which is a lie because he just had his front brakes done like 6 months ago. He was very angry that after 2 hours. All they did was look at his car he said you haven't even started my brakes yet? The whole reason I had the 8 appointment was for you to do my back brakes we talked about this. The lady looked at him and was like well sorry. So basically we had waited around for two hours they didn't even start his back brakes and the woman was confused about what he even wanted to have done even though he had a full-blown conversation about it was the back brakes while he was getting the appointment. Proceeded to tell him Saturdays are extremely busy so it's probably going to take a long time he said why did I even get the appointment then she said the appointment was just to look at your car and see what needed to be done. He said I already told you what needed to be done they also quoted him $100 more for the brakes then they had told him over the phone. Back brakes are back brakes if you knew over the phone he needed his back brakes done and you quoted him one price how is it going to magically become a hundred dollars more just for the back brakes after we come in and you look at his car? The manager seemed uninterested in just repeated the word sorry sorry sorry sorry after everything my husband had said to her in irritation that his car hadn't even been started after 2 hours. They basically admitted that because we walked out of the building and didn't sit there and stare at them the whole time we were just getting pushed to the back of the line imagine had we not come back for 4 more hours they still would not have even started his car he also brought up the fact that if they had taken a look at his car and they were finished looking at his car why didn't he get a phone call while we were out trying to kill time letting him know they looked at the car and this is what they suggest. She had no answer for why he was not called so that they could get his approval and get started on the car they just let his car sit there and we're probably planning on letting his car sit there all day had we not come back. We will never come back here. Lying to customers about the price over the phone making appointments knowing that the appointment means absolutely nothing not communicating with customers is very frustrating especially when he sent aside his whole morning when he had a lot of things to do in order to get his brakes done. We will happily take the car somewhere else to get the brakes done as he did not keep his car there. read more

My boyfriend and I got stuck in Federal Way because we had an overheating problem with my car. We ended up coming here an hour before they closed and the woman at the front desk was happy to help us! My son now drives the car and the engine light came on, called Midas told them what the codes where and they where able to get my son in the next day, Not only did they fix the issue, we ended up getting the oil changed and replaced a few back tail lights, all done with in a few hours and at a fair price. Took my van in for a simple tune up paid for it left got 1ml away and fluid came shooting out all over went back they broke a hose forgot to hook up hose resulting in damaging my engine! Now it won't go over 40 and they refuse to talk to me or even give me the money back! ! I have had to turn them inyo the better business Bureau because of their actions I am hoping this doesnt happen to others. read more

This is a nightmare. Never got the service I paid for. Their prices are fair but it is a very dishonest place. First time I was here for alignment and they charged me 3 hours of labor for a part that can be replaced in 30 minutes. Paid almost $500 for the job. After just 300 miles, somehow wheels get misaligned again. They refused to cover it under warranty without even inspecting the car. What a scam read more

Racist/unprofessional front desk reception. I had a 9:am appointment for an oil change, and arrived at exactly 9:am. Although I wasn't greeted, I waited patiently for my turn while the receptionist chatted up a female customer, all the while, trying to sound intelligent. Anyway, my turn finally came, he walked away. At that point, I should have left. But I waited a bit more seeing that he was alone, and I figured he probably took her paperwork to the mechanics. He finally returned (a total 20 min had elapsed),but I didn't even get a chance to say much, and the phone rang, and like a true professional (yeah) he answered the phone and stayed on for more several minutes, leaving me waiting. Finally, an another customer walked in (white) and then he decided to cut the phone conversation short. I finally became frustrated enough and took my keys and said "you know what, my appointment was at 9:am, and I showed up on time". He said "well, ma'am, I am alone, and today is drop off only". And I explained to him that I understand when it's busy, but a little professional courtesy would have been nice. He offered a bunch of gibberish explanations, but no solutions. This guy even threatened to call the cops while I was already on my way out the door. I didn't give him the satisfaction, and left. Besides, he's in a dead-end job, and I am glad there are plenty of shops with real professionals out there! read more

This place is great! The guys are really friendly and informative about what has been done and/or what needs to be done to my car. I always call ahead and they let me know if I should make an appointment or if I can just swing by that day (as I have to sit there and wait since we are a 1 car household). Really quick oil change and inspection service - last time I was there, I only had time to check my email and twitter before they were done! I have a big 90000 factory scheduled maintenance coming up and they guy at the counter was great about telling me the prices of the services and what needed to be done so I can spread out the cost instead of getting wallopped with a big bill at the 90000 mile mark - greatly appreciated. Auto Repair has always been a tricky business to navigate. We rely on the business to be honest & help with the specific automobile repair we sought out. Instead I've normally gotten repair shops that never know how long a repair typically takes (labor costs), add on to the the amount of parts they want to fix (parts costs), & somehow the warranty is worth as much as the paper it's printed on. This shop showed me these characteristics I've grown to know well enough. It makes me want to go to school to learn about automobiles because it seems like these companies are always trying to get over. My issue was because I had had my own parts & didn't use theirs (which saved me $250) they seemed to be offended, lackadaisical in their work (labor cost again), & didn't want to honor any discounts. However, no where on the site, coupons, or in the store does it say that you'll run into these obstacles if you use your own parts. Feelings aside, that is bad business & they conveniently waited till payment time to try & spring this news on me, even though I asked all these questions as soon as I made my appointment. Disappointed in how money for service doesn't seem to be an even exchange anymore. read more
