Took vehicle in for a front end alignment based on the recommendation of the local tire dealer with whom I do all of my business. Was told that the entire front end suspension system was shot and needed to be replaced before an alignment could be performed. The price to perform the repairs was quotes as $1200. When told that I would not be able to afford the cost at this time, was told that it would be dangerous to drive the vehicle without the repairs. When I continued to decline, the mechanic told me that the repairs could probaby been done for a little less money. At that point, told the store no thanks and left. Had the vehicle checked by another local automotive repair shop who found a few parts that needed repair/replacement, but not the whole front end. The repairs were performed for less than $600 and then the front end was aligned. Don't recommend this place due to the high pressure and less than honest approach to customers. read more

I want to start by saying that I don't ever leave a bad review for a business but I am so dissatisfied about the service I received that I feel that I need to warn other people. I took my van in for a high mileage oil change. I paid $56 for this oil change and they don't even top off your fluids. Every place that I know of tops off your window washer fluid, Etc. When you get an oil change. The person at the reception desk couldn't even properly explain to me the things that they wrote down that were wrong with my van. This last time I went for an oil change was me giving them the opportunity to redeem themselves after my oil change before that buy them. I called up there and scheduled and oil change for 4:30 p.m. and they scheduled it. I got there and they did my oil change and when they filled out the list of stuff that they are supposed to check they put on there that my fluids were all okay. And when I went there I had no window washer fluid but they checked on there that my window washer fluid was okay so that prompted me to check my fluids. So I checked them and found out that they did not check any of my stuff but marked on the list that they did and everything was okay. They were closed for the day by the time I figured this out so I called them the very next day and they told me that I came to close to close so that was the kind of oil change that I got. If they don't want to do an oil change properly and provide the service that people paid for that close to closing time then they should not have scheduled an appointment for me. So I checked them and found out that they did not check any of my stuff but marked on the list that they did and everything was okay. They were closed for the day by the time I figured this out so I called them the very next day and they told me that I came to close to close so that was the kind of oil change that I got. Then they proceeded to tell me I needed a $350+ value cover replacement. I should have typed this months ago, as a major Dealership told me that I needed a serpentine belt as well as break pads. So I decided to get a second opinion as well as a second price. Well, Gary and his crew said no everything is fine! Hmmm so my FORD that needed attention in fact did not! That dealership is dead to me now. I will never consider taking my truck to them again. So fast forward several months, and still belt is fine as well as the brakes!! My truck was running a bit rough, got new plugs, fuel filter, air filter, oil change, and wiper blades at a fair price! I've been there twice now, the personnel are pleasant and the work was done quickly. However, they gave me a $35.00 discount on my bill, which I promptly paid my bill. For two months now I've received a bill for $35.00, $42.14 respectively. First time I called and they remembered me and said that it would be taken care of. I just called again because I received the second, let's see if they if they can get this squared away, this time. Well they got back to me the same day, and said that the problem is fixed. Went over a shredded tire on the highway driving from Austin to Dallas, and engine undercover got jacked up. Was towed here and they looked at it, removed the undercover as I requested, and made sure it was safe for the road. Best of luck they didn't even charge me. I initiated paying labor but they were happy to do it for free. If I lived close by I would become a reality customer. Considering I live about 30 miles away the least I can do is write a review about ny experience here! read more

Got my oil changed there and then went to walmart to get it changed the second time and walmart said they cant touch a shaved skrew because its company policy and to take it back to Midas where they did my first oil change because the oil seal said it was from Midas. So I go and Midas, and they LIED IN MY FACE and said they didnt change my oil and then they charged my $14 bucks for a skrew they messed up!! Last time I go there again!! I've used this shop in grief when I need quick, honest efficient service close to home-- I can walk home if I need to do so. They have been quick, efficient and honest, warning me about what could be coming up with my fly 98 Corolla (and previously 94 Honda). Some people complain they charge too much, and yes, I COULD find a cheaper shop, BUT, I get NO suprises, I find that what they see is wrong with my care is VALID (not always the same at other shops). They not only take care of the motor, but there have been a few times I've had issues, like the heat last year, KILLED my interior door handles. WHO else would offer to fix for free? Or that annoying trim trying to come down they have fixed-- without even being asked. Or the guard under my car that decided to drag, they rigged (EFFICIENTLY) for me at little charge. The guys there are willing to go that extra mile and have been honest. Don't think I DON'T know about cars. I was a service dispatcher at Nissan and worked at another auto shop to get through college. But I am a sandwich generation single-mom trying to get everything done in record time, and without them, I wouldn't. Love em all! read more

Requested and online appointment the night before for a brake check and was called by "Chris" the next morning who told me my arrival time would be 2pm. I arrived at 1:58pm and was met by Chris...at 2:45pm the vehicle when on the lift. At 3:12pm Chris explained I needed to change the front and rear pads and resurface all rotors...total cost, approximately $850. During the entire visit the employees looked like high schoolers in a shop class...a lot of jerking and clowning around. I the went over to Lansdales and one of the owners came out and looked at the pads all the way around. He told me there was plenty of pad left on all the tires and it is very common to have an issue with rotor warp due to usage and the Texas heat, but it did not mean I need new pads or a rotor job. I asked how much it would cost and I was told between$500-$600 and it would be best to plan on dropping it off for the day. Can you guess where I'm going to go... read more

Gary from Midas reached out to me and explained in detail exactly what they inspected on the vehicle. From the questions I asked, Chris should have informed me that the pre-purchase inspection wasn't as thorough as what I was looking for and suggested more. However, he probably thought I was just being paranoid, so some of my concerns were overlooked. Gary took responsibility for that and compensated me by giving half of my money back and making suggestions for the future. He assured me it was a misunderstanding and definitely not intentional (as they are not in cahoots with Mac Haik.) I appreciate it. This is a good business practice for an organization that wants to remain in good standing with their customers. read more

Went in yesterday for a Rear Break Pad replacement under warranty. Before going there I had it checked out at NTB and Firestone, since they are just a minute drive from my house, got the quotes $425 ($479 - $60 rebate) and $325 ($375 - $50 coupon) respectively for break pads and rotor replacement. I didn't suspect the breaks being a problem of the noise since I had it replaced just about 2 years ago from Midas. But, anyways, I was greeted by Isla on the appointment and in about 30 minutes I was described what was going on with the noise. The technician recommended to replace the complete break unit on the rear, including a caliper change and break fluid. Technical also recommended to resurface and buff off the front break unit. My original rear break work was done for $265 at Midas (other location) in summer of 2016 after their $50 coupon special at that time. I was in here expecting a bill of less than $150 or so to cover up for labor and may be rotors. To my surprise, with all that technician recommended service, the total came up to $770. I was just not prepared for this. This price was including the FREE pad replacement. I called NTB and Firestone and also talked to Tony at previous Midas location and they all said, they did take a look at the caliper and didn't think it was needed a replacement, Also, they did not had any recommendation on front breaks ( I had replaced front unit just a year ago). I was told here by Isla, they would not do just the pads and rotors without caliper. Front breaks recommendation is optional. So, the new total came out to be $615 plus. Isla showed me the corroded caliper and convinced me that I must replace the caliper, which makes fluid change necessary too. In my mind I am still thinking going for $600 plus against $325 at Firestone, and this too after having FREE pads under warranty. Not sure, but I trusted her words and prepaid for the service and scheduled a part of the repair to be done on next day due to time constraints. This is my first visit here. Tony, at other Midas location said, trusting those replacements needed, he could have come off $50-$60 less for the same repairs. But, we are at new location and couldn't visit Tony. I am still in doubt, being serviced correctly or just got ripped off. I hope at least the repairs are good quality. read more

This place is down right bad. We were staying in Georgetown on a long weekend and on the way back home I took my wife's car in for an oil change. Well, it went down hill after I gave them her keys. They never gave me a reminder sticker for the next oil change, they lied when they stated the reminder had been reset, they screwed up her navigation system when they tried to reset it through the navigation system "With these new cars you reset the maintenance minder through the nav system." No! You don't! You read the manual if you don't know what you're doing and you figure it out like I did! Did I mention they removed a cover from the bottom of her car and didn't replace it properly? $267 later at the dealership, my wife's car is now in the condition it was in when I took it to Midas.Wow! Who would have ever thought that a reputable repair center that is so VERY HONEST would be so careless? Did I mention no one ever gave me a quote on services before they performed them? I am not sure if the shop has a lot of new employees, an absentee owner, or just a combination of several things, but I will never go back. A simple oil change cost me $349 total; this includes the dealership repairs and my $82 oil change at Midas. read more
