Very expensive and will continually upsell on repairs. My car cracks ever since going to them.

My car had shut down while driving across the desert but restarted and got us into town. The local O'Reilly's had run the codes which my regular mechanic had assessed via a phone call and suggested clearing the codes for drive home. Midas declined but recommended a complete diagnostic for $189.00 and followed by an estimate to repair the failing sub-water pump for just under $2500.00 plus the part wasn't available till the next day. I opted to make the return trip to Calif where my mechanic made the repairs for $500.00 (parts AND labor). I don't know if the ridiculous estimate was because I was a Woman or a Senior or a Senior Woman, but no amount of congenial atmosphere was worth $2000 excess dollars, plus I had to pay the $204.40 diagnostic fee which included a $13.30 "disposal fee" (on a labor cost??), with no discount for being a Senior, or a Veteran family, or AAA, or any other consideration. No, I won't be going back to any MIDAS dealer any time soon. read more

This Midas is ridiculous. The fact that they get paid hourly makes them lazy. They don't want to take customers with hard work. Soon as I came in Charlie treated me unfairly, I was very disappointed. Wish Midas would live up to the Midas standards. I set an appointment and soon as I went it Charlie was very rude and unprofessional not to mention he said they have cars backed up. Like why do you have open appointments if you haven't finished the cars you have sitting there. Not to mention the accepted my appointment on there end for me to come in and be treated terrible. July of 2025 - I called to ask if they would weld-on a catalytic converter, they said "yes". After submitting the vehicle, they called and said "Even better! We have a converter that would slip-over and cover - thus saving you cost of welding!" I accepted. Then I was told "You need a this that and the other, and if you don't you could have serious problems." (NOTE: NOT VERBATIM)." I accepted. Result: Many of the items mentioned by Midas were not addressed - instead a couple of hoses were replaced. In short, I was overcharged for the work they did do. Ended-up paying $4,xxx. I erred by: 1. Not keeping good records; 2. Letting them examine the vehicle without being present. When I picked up the vehicle I told them they will never make another penny from me or people that I know. At 45 mph, the slip-on catalyst makes an unpleasant vibration. I have not been there since and shall never go back to any Midas. read more

We took our Nissan Rogue to have a stick shift issue looked at as it was locking from Parking to any other mode - we left it and within 30-45 minutes this was handled - probably saved $300 plus had we had to take it to the dealership. I'm going to get an attorney and sue this place. I came in for a broken cooling fan and possibly battery problem which I told him you can hear the broken fan when it's on!!! Proceeds to charge $600 for a battery which doesn't solve the fan issue and wants another $800 to replace the fan. I tell the bald headed crybaby loser that's not acceptable and that I specifically wanted the fan issue resolved and to just cancel the services and let me be on my way. Good ethics and fast work and they hand no hidden agenda! I initially called this location on a whim to have a concerning check engine light investigated first time since owning my car. Chad took my call had me swing by gave to me the diagnostic read out which indicated a camshaft issue- not the news I want to hear. After the findings I was apprehensive to leave my car the for the assessment since I had no real reference of their work and concerned I would get taken advantage of given the severity of the engine error. Chad urged me to not drive the car and would work with me if gave his location a chance. I left with my car but returned to give him a chance. A few hours later he gave me news that an oil truck change did the trick on my issue. He gave a military discount and waived the service fee. I was too humbled. He had a clear opportunity to exaggerate the complaint and squeezed in a nonissue for more profit given my ignorance on the matter. He did the opposite annnd gave me a discount. Charlie is a literal asshole. There is more than just my complaint on him and it's unfortunate that he's still employed with the kind of "customer service" he provides. He showed severe ignorance, disrespect, and plain inhumanity. I will never recommend this specific Midas to ANYONE solely based on Charlie. He charged my mother $200 and never even did a diagnostic on her vehicle nor did he explain what the $200 charge was for. He followed my mother and brother out of the store yelling rude/racial slurs, they are black and he is a Caucasian man. He replaced my mothers brand new battery as well as her spark plugs with rigid ones which in result made her car not start. He told her she has to pay $4,962.26 to "dissect" her engine when there was in fact NOTHING wrong with her engine, but her purge valve which has absolutely nothing to do with the engine. Thanks to JIM, she got her issues resolved at a different Midas on Sunset but even then, the way Charlie had my mother crying from his rudeness, we will not be returning here. Went I for an oil change (Groupon) and was advised that I needed brakes , cabin filter and tires. I was promised a free air filter if I got the job done by them so I did return for the needed repairs but that was the beginning of a nightmare in dealing with this company. They did the brakes but had to call out for the tires which were not what I originally had on my car but I agreed to the replacement. After awhile my brakes started squeaking so I took the car back in and they replaced the pads saying that they are "glazed over" and upon talking to Mark, he says he knows ppl that have to replace brakes every 8 months! I said well I've owed my car since 2015, and this is the 1st time I've had brakes done, So I was somewhat skeptical but he replaced the pads under warranty, also put in the cabin filter that was supposed to have been put in the 1st time - (I "found" that wasn't done looking at my paperwork after the fact) but they still squeaked within a day so I went to another shop for suggestions and was told they didn't put grease in the pads so I went back to Midas, they out on grease and said no more squeaks but in a few days my car was doing the same thing and it got worse. I was ashamed to put in my brakes due to the extreme noise and they felt as if they took too long to stop.. I felt like they weren't doing the job and it felt unsafe. After 3 attempts to rectify the problem with Midas, I had no confidence in going back to them for further assistance with the same outcome, so I found another mechanic who did a complete overhaul of brakes, pads rotors and even repaired my CV Boot that I "found" while reading the receipt from Midas, they never even informed me of that issue until I asked why they noted it but didn't inform me! Also, the new mechanic saw my supposedly new tires and didn't think they were new tires.they look like the thread is worn already and I haven't even made any long trips on the highway since I got them replaced from Midas! I knew they didn't look like they had deep threading upon receiving them but I don't know much about tires / vehicles so I didn't know for sure but when a mechanic says that, then I know that my concerns were valid . I called Midas and Mark told me to bring in the used parts that were taken off my car for him to see, when I went in , he looked at a pad, confirmed that it was "glazed over" again, I said, "yes, you said that the 1st time you replaced them," he says I "should have come back to them " This would have been for a 4th time , but that "he could have replaced them again." But "since I went somewhere else- he cant do anything for me " Wow‼ why ask me to bring in the parts for you to see then? Why would I keep going back for the same result? I feel like the quality of parts are not adequate and that was the opinion of my mechanic as well. I now have top quality parts in my car and have not had any issues with squeaking since having the job redone elsewhere. I would never go to Midas for anything other than an oil change but now I won't even go back for that! They always want to recommend services when all I wanted was my oil changed. If brakes and tires are not your specialty, then stop offering the service! i do not recommend Midas to all that read my review - save yourself the stress and anxiety. Had to get oil changes in both cars. They found a crack in one of the belts on the my husband's vehicle and he needed a brake flush. They were able to get the part within a few hours and make the repair quickly. I ended up getting all new filters, it's been awhile since I did that. I could instantly tell the difference when the heat blew hot within a few minutes, just like when the car was brand new. The reason for 4 stars, the glove box wasn't closed all the way when they pulled the car out of the bay and I noticed it was not put back on properly after the filter was changed. If I didn't notice, I would have had to return to get that fixed but I think it was something pretty noticeable. Not a deal breaker. Bill for both cars was around $900. read more

They get 2 stars because the techs were cool but the service manager telling me 1,200 bucks for rear shocks was a shock. Upgraded shocks cost 150$ for a pair and installation is 2 bolts on each side so how would that take a mechanic 4 hours to complete? It was a ghost town when I came in and that's probably because you don't need regular customers when you can get lucky and rip off a couple people a day. I'll never come back here and you should think twice before you do. read more

We called back and said we were going to come get the car. It wasn't worth it. Chad then went into, "negotiation mode" He wanted me to throw out a number that would work. He most have sold cars before he started working on them... I said I didn't want to play that game. Then he quoted me $1,300. I passed. Called a few other places. Got a quote for the exact same repairs from a local shop for $1,100. When we got there they told us the back brakes were completely fine and didn't need to be replaced. Spent $700. Brought my car in with no coolant. They said my hose was broke, then my heater core was plugged. They told me it was $4000, but would give me a $500 friends and family discount and GUARANTEED no one would be cheaper. When we called 30 min later to cancel because they were so overpriced, we were told (via 3 different ppl and phone calls) we COULDNT cancel because the part was already ordered. The three day job took 2 weeks. They said unhooking the battery "deprogrammed" our key fobs and they needed multiple locksmiths to reprogram them. They told my daughter after the fact when we complained that we should be happy they gave us a free battery and car thermostat, which they NEVER asked for permission to fix or told us about. They told me there was nothing in it and that it had dry rot and I would need to buy a whole new tire. First quote was $120 and the tire would be there by 2pm. I called back at 5pm to find out what was happening and they told me it would now be $180. At this point I didn't trust it so I went to another shop, I had a screw in my tire- cost me $30. After needing a muffler installed , I contacted Charles the manager in person. He stated he "Hated installing mufflers, because it ties up his rack space when he could be making faster money doing brakes". I purchased the muffler model online, and brought it to his shop on Windmill Road, Las Vegas. He rolled his eyes at me and huffed in anger, because i was going to tie up his rack in the bay of the shop. Charles made that known once again, and asked me if I had the bent pipe part needed to install the muffler. Why would I have the pipe? I am NOT a muffler shop... I'm a customer ! He then told me he needed to call for the part to be delivered, before any work could be done on my exhaust at $130 per hour. This all started at 7:30 AM... yet the needed pipe order was not called to the distributor until 9:08 AM , (after Charles finished his personal phone calls and breakfast in the manager office). At 11:00 AM , I asked Charles if there was any word on when the pipe was to arrive, and he told me the following: " When the pipe arrives, you'll get your word, Your car sitting up in the air out there is costing me money" The pipe arrived from O'Reilly Auto part next door at 11:18AM and the technician started the work. At 1:15PM the muffler was on. 6 hours to install a single muffler? There were no cars ahead of mine. 6 hours of sitting in the filthiest waiting area in Las Vegas. It looks like the floors , windows, table tops, and window sills haven't been cleaned in years. $358.00 later, I had my muffler installed. This price was after I had to argue with Charles, because he wanted to charge me originally 4 hours of labor, ( because my car was sitting on his rack?)... Who knows? Went in for an oil change and when it was done they gave me a list of over $3,000 worth of repairs they said my 2009 Toyota Sienna LE needed. I said I'll consider it. I went home and inspected these things myself. For example, he said the serpentine belt had lots of cracks and could go anytime and he tried to scare me by telling me I wouldn't want it to break while driving, etc. I inspected the belt thoroughly myself and it was like new. I did not see one single crack. Next he said my radiator was leaking and needed to be replaced. I inspected it myself and there were no signs of leaking. It was dry and there were no spots on my driveway where it's parked. He said my head gaskets were leaking. I checked that myself as well and they were clean and no signs of leaking. The only truths he told were that the fluids need to be flushed. I recommend anyone stay away from Midas on Windmill & Pecos. When I was talking to my father about this experience he told me that he used to go there and had the same problem with the same guy (I think his name was Mark). He charged my father for repairs he didn't need. read more

First off I was a Ford Skill 8 Technician for 8 years. I maintain my car myself and have done all the routine service on my vehicle since day 1 mile 1. I came here for an oil change for 2 reasons. 1 - It was way too hot to do an oil change myself and honestly it is grunt work. 2 - Jiffy Lube down the street wanted to charge $80 for an oil change. I was the only customer waiting at the shop and they took over an hour to change the oil. They will try to upsell you on the usual engine air filters, cabin air filters, brake flushes that are useless 99.9% of the time, tune up, brake work, and tires. They also claimed my oil drain plug was leaking. Sure it is since my garage floor is sparkling clean and I check the oil level weekly. Save yourself some money if you can do it yourself. Just wait until night time when it cools down if you do it outside or just put a fan on yourself in your garage. If you cannot do an oil change yourself then go to Walmart. For full synthetic they only charge $45, not $70 like these clowns or $80 like Jiffy Lube. Also, the manager is your typical service writer who doesn't know a whole lot but to sell the actual repair and upsell for both the tech and himself. The other guy has been a service writer for 3 months and doesn't really know what's going on. read more

Wifey's car was overheating and this was the nearest shop...My spider senses were tingling big time.....Only ONE car being worked on, and 4-5 mechanics sitting on their a$$es...Looking more like wolves in sheep's clothing, Hmmm something's very fishy here??? Immediately, they go to work, do a little diagnostic check which off the bat cost $30 and after a while, somehow, some way, she is quoted $500 dollars along with a "Your radiator hose looks really bad, and you need a radiator flush NOW" This leader of the wolfpack thought wifey was gonna take the bait, but what he got was "No thanks, just charge me for the diagnostic check" "Nah, just go ahead and go" he said...put some coolant in, didn't charge anything, and we were on our way, His conscience was probably killing him...Next day, we take it to a Honda-Certified mechanic and cost for repairs? $90...HUGE difference.
