Worst Example of a RIP OFF I have ever scene, my friend went into their shop for an oil change and they refused to return his car (Read in Illegally Seized his car) saying that an issue, which was covered under his EXTENDED WARRANTY and that they couldn't get a part for until 5 days later, was the reason it wouldn't be returned and cited NRS as if they had the authority to seized a vehicle, a fact that was totally debunked by both the Police that I called and a retired Marshall. I called numerous shops and a tow company and they ALL said the same thing - That my friend only needed to sign a liability release to the shop for the car, and the Police agreed they had NO right to Keep his car. I called AAA and arranged a tow to another shop and got to listen to the Manager of this Midas tell me "If you were really his friend you would help him pay for the repair." REALLY? Help him Pay for you to seize his car (which the Police told us you had no right to do), Not have his part for 5 days and lie to him? NO REAL FRIENDS ARRANGE A TOW FOR THEIR FRIEND TO ANOTHER SHOP WHO WON'T DO ANY OF THESE THINGS. DON'T EVER GO HERE! I had my oil changed at Midas located at 2620 Windmill Parkway in Henderson.When I got my truck back, I drove home and washed my hands and noticed a lot of dirt coming off them. So I got some wipes and wiped down my steering wheel, since that was the only thing I touched that could have caused it. My wipes were covered in grease and oil from the technician not removing his gloves or putting on a steering wheel cover. I had to use six wipes to get all the grease off. I don't understand how dumb someone is to do that knowing they have grease all over their hands. If they aren't dumb then they dont care and that shows they don't care about their customers. I had some concerns about my vehicle leaking coolant, went to this location on a holiday with no appointment and they were able to get my vehicle in and fixed in a more then a reasonable amount of time.. Mechanic showed me my problem and allowed me to view the leak as it occurred. Also while I was waiting to see if they could get me in I decided to call the sister store to this location. I spoke to a guy named Steve who gave me excellent customer service with high positive energy that had me just feeling good about taking my vehicle to Midas. If I could leave a zero star review I would. I have been coming to this location for over six years now and will probably never come back after the last two incidents. The first was a few weeks ago my wife had gone in to get a oil change. Something we have been doing at this location for years without incendent. Well they hired a new tech who apparently doesn't even know how to change oil. My wife waiting for over an hour as she watched this girl interrupt the other two technicians who were working on other cars to come and do the oil change for her. My wife asked the manager (Chad) about this and he said she was brand new and learning and that it was the other technicians job to teach people with no knowledge of vehicles to work on them. Well aside from the fact that we pay good money and expect good service I guess that is fine? The next day my wife noticed the car was leaking oil and even though I paid money not to have to change the oil myself I ended up having to because the new "technician" placed the oil filter on sideways. Because we have been coming here for so many years we let them know we were unhappy and the manager apologized and said he would be sure to work on it. Well we made the mistake of coming back after days ago to get my vehicle an oil change and tires remounted and balanced. I asked that we not get the new "technician " again but the manager assured us she NOW knew what she was doing. Well that was a lie. This girl had to go and get another technician off of the vehicle he was working on three times to help her with the oil change. She was also incapable of doing my tires. Why have a "professional technician " that can not change oil or tires on their own? Really disappointed that we will be having to find new mechanics from this point on as it has gone down hill so badly. We had our engine replaced by James years ago too bad he isn't around anymore. Myself..."Is the manager that was there in November still there?" Charles "No" Myself....click Now maybe I'm just used to having phone etiquette and expecting a business to have the same but this "Charles" made it the most UNCOMFORTABLE conversation within 10 seconds. Why on earth would I want to take my business to a place that is rude on the phone, if that's how the new manager is.... well it usually trickles down the line. So as normal it's hard to trust a mechanic/shop let alone want to take your car to a place that could care less. I can't say enough great things about this place. The manager Jimmy and the entire staff is awesome. I used their $50 for $100 yelp coupon without any issues. They are super friendly and informative and never tried to upsell me on anything. They have complimentary snacks and drinks, crayons and coloring books for the kids and a tv. I called and made an appointment on 3/28 for noon on 3/39. I explain to Chad what service I need and he enthusiastically tells me how familiar he is with the car and the muffler swap I want. So I show up 15 minutes early for my appointment and am greeted by an unknown employee (never got his name). He proceeds to tell me they can't bend the pipe for what I need, even though I brought the specific muffler I wanted installed and I have seen used in cars identical to mine. Yet he denied that those particular muffler would fit my vehicle, but the cherry on top of it all is he insisted that I already had an after market system on my brand new car! The car is bone stock and I've had it since the odometer read 7. So I wasted my day off because of incompetence and disorganization on behalf of Midas. They check all parts of your car and I'm really impressed with the way that they put the car up on the rack and then they help you make sure that they choose the right oil's because I get synthetic oil's in my car. Certain cars Get specific oils and Carls team knows. When you look at this inspection report, if you need something done then you know. They check your tires your tread depth wear pattern noise levels from anything your shocks or struts which I think is a really great thing to know about your car so you can keep your car running safely on the road and keep your family safe. So 3 years ago they installed lifetime warranty brake pads on my 2002 Toyota Tacoma. One set of those pads is now metal on rotar metal, but there was no squealing to indicate the pads were worn. Worn pad was brought to my attention during an oil change. The pads are under warranty but not the rotor that was destroyed by their inferior parts and/or install, and they are charging a premium $300 parts n labor to replace the front rotors. It seems to me that their MO is to use crappy "warrantied' product to ensure you will come back for more expensive repairs. I warned my wife about going to Midas, because of previous bad experiences with them. They just confirmed why I will never ever bring my business to a Midas ever again. Ever! read more

Stopped in this morning as I was having some acceleration issues (scary!) with my vehicle. They took my car back immediately to look at it. They let me know that they fixed my radio by replacing a fuse that needed to be replaced in order for their computer system to plug into my vehicle. I replaced my battery 2 days ago, and according to the mechanic, the system was not recognizing my throttle body. This was what I read online for this make/model, but I had no idea how to look at a throttle body! They fixed the issue in about 20 minutes. No charge. They did notice another issue that I needed to fix, and that they needed to order a couple of the parts. They printed me off an EXACT estimate, and told them I'd be back in a couple days to get it fixed. read more

This is the the most dishonest car shop I have ever been to, utterly disgusted at the conduct and lack of ethics of the employees who work here. A few weeks ago I noticed that two of the tail lights on my Acura were out. I took it in Midas as they were the closest shop and knew they were open on Sundays. The window signage stated clearly: free estimates. After waiting for nearly an hour, the technician informed me that since it was an electrical problem, they would have to charge me a diagnostic fee of $75 despite the window stating the contrary. After complaining about why did they didn't tell me this an hour ago, they went ahead and honored their policy. They told me that for whatever reason, the 'light switch' went out and had to be replaced at a cost of around $200. I was about to agree to the repairs, until a woman walked in the lobby complaining about her car overheating again despite having it brought in to this shop 3 times and paying each time. This was enough to turn me off to the repairs and I ultimately drove home, tail lights still malfunctioning. After speaking to my friends, they recommended I check out Hondatronics (see my review for them). I took my car down there the next day and informed the lady working there of the problem, I even mentioned that Midas had told me that the light switch had to be replaced. About an hour later, I got a call back from Hondatronic stating that they had fixed the problem: 2 bulbs which had blown. Total cost: $15. THANK GOD I DID NOT LET MIDAS DO ANY REPAIRS ON MY CAR. I don't know how they were talking about replacing some part for $200 when all they had to do was replace 2 bulbs. I can't believe this place is still in business. Judging by the other reviews here, its clear that ripping people off is the way this shady shop makes their money. Save your money, time, and go somewhere else. read more

I was hesitant to go here after seeing the ratings and reviews, but after I received a coupon in the mail stating it was under new ownership, I decided to give it a try. When I walked in, it was clear that they had just remodeled the lobby and the staff told me they have brand new equipment as well and are now open on Sundays. They were friendly and helpful in letting me know what was wrong with my car, and honest about what was worn, or might need fixed soon without trying to pressure me into purchasing everything that day. I will definitely be back, as it's just too convenient a place. Free soda and coffee while you wait is fairly typical, but I was quite pleased with the overall experience and would recommend giving this place a second chance despite the old negative reviews! read more

Took my car to Midas when it needed a new radiator. About 2 months later noticed the car was leaking, not accelerating right, and basically sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Dropped it off after hours and they called me at around 9am next day saying they had to take the engine out of the car and it needed new gaskets. Total cost $2,100. Considering they 'd only been open an hour, how'd they take engine out of car in such short time? Took it to my dad and he found that the radiator hose was loose which is what was causing the problems. He tightened the radiator hose and now the car runs fine. They take advantage of people there, I do not recommend. read more

Bought a Groupon for a synthetic oil change and randomly came in one day after work. They were extremely busy but the guy was really nice about it and asked if I could come back in 2 hours . Totally fine because I understand they were busy. No big deal. I came back, they took me right away. Changed my oil and was out within 30 minutes. There was snacks, soda/water and even some Netflix to keep busy. The gentleman was extremely nice (wish I remembered his name, he had tattoos and a beard) and even mentioned my front tires were going bald. With no pressure at all or trying to sell me something, he just gave me an estimate of how much it would be to replace them and suggested I replace them soon. This Midas is the worst in the city! Beware of ripoffs. Went in to get a oil change and two new tires to be put on. Called several days before hand to make sure they had the right size tires. They said no problem and they would call me if there were any problems. Never received a call so I thought all was well. Went in and they didn't have my tires and could not get them for a week! They told me they would comp my oil change for the inconvenience. Come to find out a couple weeks later I checked my oil and the oil life was still at 60%. Needless to say they did NOT change my oil like they said. I was a long time customer but no more! Stay away from this Midas! Con men and the customer service was TERRIBLE as well! I am not happy with the service this shop has been treating my boyfriend. This location has been good to me the past few times I was in there they were super nice and quick and now this week when my boyfriend would try to bring the car in for an oil change there was always an issue. One day they wouldn't do the oil change because he was a little late even though he had made an appointment. The time frames for the appointment are spread out so there shouldn't have been an issue. He tries to go back today and give them a free oil change coupon and won't accept it, stated it was old and sounding rude to him but heres the thing, when I went the last time on Aug 20th to get the oil change you guys gave me that coupon on for making me wait for a while while you did some extra work to it besides the oil change so there was no reason to decline the couple you gave me, there is no expiration date on it so there was no reason to decline. First time here for work to be done on my car. So didn't know what to expect. Was greeted right away from the service writer, really friendly and helpful. Checked my car in for a four wheel alignment. I just dropped off and left. Got a call about 4 hours later for a ready to pick up. So now the moment of truth. I had done alignments with other shops in the past, the car drives straight but the steering wheel is not centered. This is the last of Midas for me and I will spread the words to all my friends and family.
