Went in for an oil change on Saturday 6/27/2026. The guy who put the car lift arms on my car put the arms under my rocker panel instead of on the frame which resulted with damage to my rocker panel and floor board. Repair cost will be around $1,800. The guy I talked to on Saturday told me the manager wasn't there to come back on Monday when he will be in. I took time off from work on Monday so I could meet the manager to see what Midas was going to do to repair the damage so I would not have to get a lawyer or the BBB office involved in order to have the repair cost paid for by Midas. Manager was not in on Monday so I went back on Wednesday and the guy I spoke to on Saturday was there. I asked that guy to call his manager for me and then he tells me he was the manager, but on Saturday he said he wasn't the manager so he lied to me about that on Saturday. He took pictures of the damage, but so far Midas has not called yet to take care of the damage repair cost for my car his employee caused by lifting my car up the wrong way! Then what used to be free when getting an oil change, now cost $33.95, then they charged me $4 to top off my windshield wash fluid that I just completely filled myself 3 days before!! I Midas does not contact me by today to have my car fixed I'm reporting the damage to my insurance company so they go after Midas for repair cost, plus calling the BBB office to file a complaint against Midas Muffler! Been going there for years but now it's under new Management and it's not worth going there for oil changes no more. I declined the work, pulled my keys, and had the car towed away for two undeniable reasons: ​1.) The Math & The Labor: I immediately called a local auto parts store to price out the components. The fuel pumps for my specific vehicle are roughly $150 each. Furthermore, they quoted over 10 hours of shop labor for a job that would be done in a little over an hour for a moderately experienced DIYer like myself. Quoting a customer almost $3,000 for $300 worth of parts and a 1-to-2 hour job (which is easily accessible under the rear seat) is an unjustifiable, astronomical markup. 2.) ​The Mechanical Reality: A failed fuel pump does not cause a 'rapid-click / no-crank' symptom. If a fuel pump is dead, the starter will still crank and physically turn the engine over strongly it just won't fire because it lacks fuel. A rapid clicking sound is a textbook electrical failure (a dead battery, a failing starter solenoid, bad grounds, or a blown fuse). Suggesting a $3,000 fuel system replacement without addressing the basic, underlying electrical failure preventing the engine from spinning is either severe mechanical incompetence or a deliberate attempt to take advantage of a customer. I am writing this to caution anyone who is not mechanically inclined. If this shop quotes you a massive repair bill that doesn't seem to match the symptoms, take your keys and get a second opinion elsewhere immediately. My daughter took her vehicle there to have a mechanic investigate a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Those jokers told her she needed all new brakes and quoted her $1200. She got a second opinion from a local mechanic and they found a damaged shock mount which was the source of the noise. This place is garbage with garbage people who try and take advantage of you. If you light your car on fire and rolled it into their parking lot they would still try and say your brakes need changed. Do not go here. read more

I went to this place to get an oil change to be honest I asked another customer how long she was waiting and their wait times are possibly due to the horse playing joking and kidding around that the employee be doing. We watched it takes four people to work on one car the playing around is just aggravating and to hear other complain that they have been waiting and to see it's because of the level of immaturity. I would not recommend they may truly mess your car up I went somewhere else that act like a business and not mommy and daddy play ground. My daughter went for an oil change hange at the Lakewood Ohio store. They recommended an engine air filter and wiper blades which I was good with. have been a service manager at a national company and have been in the tire industry for over 45 years. The store checked her balance and said it was out by a 1/4 ounce which is almost perfect. They recommended to balance all 4 tires after just checking one. Did they ask if she had a ride disturbance, I believe not. I myself would not have sold a customer a balance at the measurement nor would I have checked a tire balance unless the customer had made a request. 52.00$ later. Absolutely love this location! My stepdad actually works at the Cuyahoga Falls Midas so he's the first person I call when anything goes wrong with my car. I work in Lakewood and ended up getting a piece of metal in my tire causing it to continuously leak air. I live about a hour away so this was obviously not something I felt safe driving on. I called my stepdad and he told me that any Midas will try and fix it for free. Amazing. Fabulous. Wonderful. Fantastic. I call and ask if I can come in a hour before close and they said that I could come on in. All of the men were so kind and none of them talked down to me because I was a woman. One of them actually trained with my stepdad! I was in and out within a hour and they even changed my oil for free for being apart of the Midas family (stepdad). We arrived here on a Saturday around 1200. There was an hour and a half wait to get out oil changed and we NEEDED it so we stopped by and waited. We choose the high mileage oil which costs 50 dollars. Price was mild and I knew anywhere else wouldn't have had a short wait like this. Onto the wait, shorter thAn expected, cool! However being over charged for the arrangement, not cool. The man working set out with a total of 59.99 with my military discount which is 10 percent...? Confused so confused ... I asked him to explain and he said it was taxes ???? 10 dollars on taxes ? AHA! I left to sit in the car and my husband was glad enough to argue and have him get a manager for the manager to tell us he accidentally charged my card an extra 10 percent VS minus 10 percent. He really could've looked at the receipt instead of arguing with me and then my husband about it. It's an oil change.... come on. Stay away from this place. They screwed up the job of replacing my radiator by not bleeding the air out of the cooling system so the engine started overheating. The manager, Kevin B., tried telling me I needed to replace the engine head gaskets to fix the overheating problem. They charged me $1075 for the new radiator and the engine overall would have been another $1500 easy. I had my truck towed to another shop and they fixed the problem by getting the air out and filling the cooling system with coolant. My cost was $112 including the towing charge. I tried contacting Midas customer service about being reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses to fix their screw up but that was a complete waste of time. I called at 8:00am to inquire about tires for my vehicle. I was told that the size tire I needed was not in their inventory, but they could get some from another location. I explained that I would like the tires done that day, and was told that it wouldn't be a problem. After not hearing from Midas after several hours, I called and was told that the tires were not there yet, but they would check and let me know. Still led to believe I could get tires on my vehicle that day. Never heard back, and now a day later, still no phone call. Didn't mind the wait but a month later my car starts aggressive pulling to the right, take it to a guy thinking it's the wheel alignment and all that good stuff he said "no it's the tire that they gave you" the belts in it are all messed up" they gave me a bad tire and probably won't take it back so they such don't go. read more

This is a top-notch auto service shop with an intelligent mechanic who knows how to get quality parts cheaply, and who does quality work. Although Midas is somewhat limited in the types of things they do, they tend to be able to do more than one commonly thinks. From my experience, if this shop can handle the sort of work you need, it can probably do it just as well as any other place, and it will probably give you a better price. Once I had gotten a few quotes of several hundred dollars for work that this place was able to complete for about a third the cost. The other quotes were higher not because of labor costs but because the other shops were not as effective at locating parts for a reasonable price. read more

This is my first Yelp complaint ever! I wasn't even trying to give a single star. I usually just deal with things and learn from them but this Midas went too far with me in particular. The staff has changed completely and has employed a lot of complacent people. They drag addressing customers and lately they haven't personally shown me issues with my car like their known for. (Based on what I've seen as I waited.) I always go in for an oil change but this past year I got brakes, rotors, calipers: You name it! Including having my headlights fixed that were going out. Anyway, my headlights are still crazy. One day theyre good and the next, maybe not. They're never both out at the same time thank goodness. I can drive at night at least. That was issue one. No resolution. My overall issue is being given a quote of nearly $900 for a service that I didn't need. I drive a 2007 Pontiac G6 (cleanbeater) After telling a rep that I had a loud squealing noise coming from the wheels i assumed that after a year of replacing rotors and such that all I would need is maybe brakes. They said I need the whole shabang. I was gonna pay it and have it fixed but something didn't sit right. I know people and something felt sly so I went and got a second opinion at another professional mechanic. They said I didn't any of it. They took my wheels off and lubricated the rotors or whatever. They actually showed me within 15 minutes of bringing my car. ( I do have documented proof) I was infuriated. I'm a struggling student and I work full time. I need my car. I can't afford another one right or paying for unnecessary work. And there are tons of people like myself who need places to take their car that they can trust. I took my car (Jag X-Type) to Midas in Lakewood for brakes, an alignment and a bad wheel bearing. I really hesitated on going there because I had a bad experience 10 years ago when they lied to me about rotating the tires on my previous car (a Mitsubishi Galant) and charged me $600 for an alternator. But it is right up the street from my work so I thought I'd give them a second chance. My bad! I dropped my car off at 10am on a Wednesday after scheduling an appointment the day before. Didn't hear anything until they called me at 4:45pm to tell me they were short staffed and couldn't get to my car. I said I'd have to pick it up and drop it off the next day at 6:30am and was told to leave the car key in drop box. Again, heard nothing until 4pm when he said they couldn't get the wheel bearing free so they'd have to order another part. I said I needed the car back but could drop it off again the next day on Friday (which would be the third day!) I assumed they had at least done the brakes but no, they did nothing! So when I dropped off on Friday morning at 6:30am again, I finally called them around 4:30pm to check status of car. He did nothing again!! He said he still couldn't get bearing off and that I'd have to leave car for a few days. I told him maybe next week but asked if he had at least done the brakes. He said he didn't but he could do them real quick since they close at 6pm. I am writing this review as I wait for his call to say he's done. Long story short: they found the nail, plugged my tire, did it in less than 20 minutes, and there was no cost. Brought the car in for an inspection on Tuesday, told them I'd come in over the weekend to have my muffler fixed. They said they'd have the part. Took me back and showed me what they called a "simple fix." Called Friday to make sure I had a 9:30AM appointment for Saturday, the next day. Came in at 9:30am. They didn't have the part they said they had, so I had to wait for it. While waiting, a girl in the waiting room dropped a water bottle that rolled under a chair, she had to bend over to dig it out. One mechanic grabs another and blatantly points to her bent over and they both howl at her (she didn't witness this Incredibly unprofessional display of sexually charged douche-baggery as she was turned in the other direction, but everyone in the full lobby did). After waiting 2 hours the part arrives. They come out an hour later saying they ordered the wrong part and had to reorder, that it would be there in 20 mins. Hour and a half later still no part. No one would engage with me, little communication. At this point I'd been sitting for 4 hours. Finally a manager comes out and I tell him I want to know what's going on. He tells me it's out of his hands, says he'll discount the service. Finally, after almost 5 hours of waiting they finish the "simple fix." Over all a total nightmare. I drive a 2009 hyndai sonata with about 55000 miles to it. Generally I keep it is decent shape but just couldn't afford the maintainence cost at the dealership. So going cheaper, I though going a midas to get new brakes/rotors would be a good alternative. The gentlemen at the counter was nice and friendly. Of which they were able to quickly get my car in and replaced my brakes and rotors for a decent price.... somewhere around 250. I though I was getting a deal. Then the squeaking started. My car would spontaneously start squeaking like the pads were not replaced. When it squeaked.... it is VERY loud and annoying. I took it back to midas on multiple occassions and was told that everything looks good and that they heard no squeaking. They even stated that they upgrades my brakes to ceramic in order to minimize this squeaking anonymity.But the squeaking ensued. For months I would take it back to midas and for months they told me I nothing was wrong. Finally I decided to take it to the dealership, of which they stated that I need new brakes. But that was going to cost me around 400. To double check, I took it to another local mechanic and he practically stated about the same. He even thought the rotors may even need to be replaced since they could be glazed from the brakes. The brakes maybe ceramic but they are of the lowest grade. Thus the squeak. Both the dealership and the local mechanic stated that everything else was in perfect condition. Otherwise, the squeak will not harm my car and the brakes are in good condition. So what is the conclusion? I can not afford to put in brand new brakes and possibly rotors to fix up what has happened. Thus I will suffer with the squeaking for about a year so I can raise the money to get new brakes and rotors done somewhere else. read more
