Shady! Won't be back!! I have previously used Midas when I lived in Chicago and had a great experience. Went to the Port Orchard Midas for an oil change after moving out west, and they informed me I needed to get my brakes inspected. They said the front brakes were great, but that my rear brakes were not in good shape. My brakes started making a grinding noise a couple weeks later, and so I told my dad and he told me to bring my car by so he could take a look himself. We inspected the rear tires because that's what Midas said needed attention. Nothing wrong, still had a good groove on the brake pads...so he cleaned the brake pads off and reassembled...and my car still made noise. So he ordered some brake lubricant and some more cleaner and said we would inspect the front tires later. Well we looked at them today, and my front right tire's brake pad was COMPLETELY worn down. Midas didn't inspect anything, and going forward I won't be back. Would not recommend people to them. Do not trust them to handle future maintenance problems. Included a picture of my front brake pads for reference. Furthermore. I had one of my tires replaced by them...they gave me a quote, I accepted and scheduled an appointment to get it changed. When I got there, they said they didn't have my tire and they weren't sure what the person was looking at when she said they had my tire in stock initially. They said they have a similarly priced tire...but it was more money than the tire I was quoted. They should have honored the initial quote but instead they made more money off of me. Won't be back.

I brought my car in for an oil change at Midas. It had been my oil change place for several years. I got a call shortly after drop off telling me they couldn't open the hood. I told them the last time the hood was opened was 6 months before for an oil change at that same Midas. They insisted that they needed to charge me to fix the hood latch mechanism, which they were last to use. I refused to be charged for a problem that almost certainly they had accidentally created (remember the hood hadn't been opened)! Upon picking up the car there is now a loose cable sticking out where it was attached to the latch and the hood is super tight to the car frame. Neither of these was the case when I dropped off. THEY BROKE THE LATCH AND THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME TO FIX IT! Unbelievable!

I tried again still could not find the problem. I stumbled upon community I always thought they were just a small shop. They gave me a quote what they thought was the issue. They said it would take about an hour. The car took over 4 hours more complicated than they thought. I was fully expecting every minute that they were going to come and tell me that it was going to cost more or that they found a new issue where they had to repair something else. What ended up happening is they finished the repair while I am nervous about what add-ons they're going to tell me they did. Instead I get a quote for exactly what was promised. When I was surprised he said it's what we quoted you and we stick to our quotes. I can't believe a place like this would be that honest I have never had good luck with car places until now. Being a woman who knows nothing about cars you get taken advantage of and here they were having my back. Casey also is absolutely incredible. She couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. I originally came in because my brakes We're squeaking Period they told me it was just break dust and that it was okay. that I did not need to replace them yet. After that great service I then asked them about the other issue because I trusted them. Highly recommend don't think twice just go to them. They will have your back also.

I had my power steering pump replaced on my 1995 mustang, no computers, no plastic covers, didn't have to remove the whole front end of the car to get to it, just a straight forward wrench job. I get a call during the repair and Meineke asked me for a deposit for parts. I gave them $1,000 bucks, the manager wasn't happy and kept asking me for my credit card, I refused to give him one so he pulls out his own card to pay for a new pully. I asked for a receipt and he give me some print out saying payment pending and on my shop receipt he rights down a cash payment of $875 not the $1,000 I gave him he just subtracted the amount for the pully and the pully is not listed on my receipt. So the stupid thing is that they destroyed my old pully when they try to remove it using the wrong tools and they had to cut off the old one. My question was why am I paying for a part they destroyed in the removal process? I get the car back and find that the new power steering pump is wabbling and the shaft is bent. looking closer I noticed that where the pully goes onto the shaft, has medal shaving and blown o-rings, and I can hear the bearing in the pump. I show the manager he insisted that he was the one that worked on the car and that it was all normal and nothing to see here. No offer to fix it just its good enough. I had other repairs done at the same time but almost $2,500 bucks in repairs and I get a car that is unsafe and undrivable. They don't want to fix their mistakes, honor warranties and a good enough back yard mechanic when I paid for a professional mechanic to fix my classic car.

Three illegal things in the state of WA - doing unnecessary work, lying to the customer about the problem and needed work, and increasing the estimate by over 10% (more like 30%) without confirming with the customer. Ended up having to deal with their corporate office who eventually sorted it out for us, but if we hadn't been persistent enough to fight them on it, they'd have just taken 130% of the estimate while having done absolutely nothing to address the problem. Brent seemed great... but what a joke.... Guess he is all talk. Even after kindly attempting to discuss our findings after the fact, I did not receive any response. The dealership kindly transported the truck to the shop. The following day, we received the inspection report. The only issues noted were worn shocks, a slightly hanging front brake caliper, and a recommendation to change the differential fluid. We specifically called to discuss the inspection and asked whether there were any other concerns. We were told it was a nice truck and that nothing significant was found. We even asked about engine issues and were told that scanning for codes and testing the coolant showed no concerns. Fortunately, we decided to fly out and inspect the truck ourselves before purchasing it. Within minutes of looking over the vehicle, we found multiple issues that were not mentioned anywhere in the inspection report - none of these items were observed in the PPI. * Recently replaced oil pan with obvious sealant visible * Active engine oil leak at the bellhousing area. * Recently replaced brake master cylinder and front calipers, suggesting an unresolved brake issue. * Large rodent nests and debris in both wheel well areas under the hood. * Extremely stiff steering that felt abnormal for a truck with only 69,000 miles. * Spongy brake pedal that traveled halfway to the floor before engaging. * Signs of additional repairs and modifications that were never documented. The oil leak alone was visible without putting the truck on a lift and should have been impossible to miss during a thorough inspection. I understand that no inspection is perfect and that mechanics can't predict every future problem. However, major visible issues such as an active oil leak, rodent nesting, brake concerns, and steering problems should have been identified and documented. These are exactly the types of issues buyers pay for a pre-purchase inspection to uncover. Had we trusted the report and purchased the truck sight unseen, we could have spent thousands of dollars transporting a vehicle that clearly had significant unresolved issues. The purpose of a PPI is to provide an independent assessment so buyers can make informed decisions. Based on our experience, this inspection fell far short of that standard. I cannot recommend this shop for ANY pre-purchase inspections. What a waste of money.
