Got my tires changed and replaced here weeks ago. Brian was a very helpful, friendly, and chilled guy. 3 out of 4 tires needed to get replaced but they ended up replacing all 4. This is the worst establishment I've ever been to for service! There was extremely poor customer service from Jared from the moment I walked in. I have been waiting over 3 hours for a brake flush, and I have had the opportunity to watch him treat every single customer poorly. Overall bad management! They have done the wrong work on several cars. They put the wrong oil in one customer's car, and the list goes on. They have had many unsatisfied customers within the last 3 hours. I have no idea how this place has a 4star rating. Jared needs to be fired immediately! Although Midas is a national brand, the owners and staff do their best to make this have a neighborhood mechanic feel. Always satisfied with the service I get here! They send me reminders and coupons for oil changes, and let me know if there are other issues with my car. Work is always done in a timely manner, even when I let them know I don't need a rush. It's also nice that they're located right in midtown so I don't have to go too far from home to get routine maintenance. READ! I brought my car in with a code already given to me from autozone. I wanted to take it to a shop to confirm and maybe get it fixed. They got the same code for a catalytic converter issues. They told me it would be $1300 to get it fixed. I was so close to getting it done at Midas, but I got another opinion and I found out that it would be covered by warranty, and I paid the 90 bucks for the code check. I am writing a bad review, because they cleared the code, and now I can't take it in to the dealership. I called Midas and asked if the code was deleted and he said the person who checked my car doesn't "think" so. He said maybe the light was a glitch. He said this like it was going to make me happy. BUT BRO! YOU WERE GONNA CHARGE ME $1300 FOR A GLITCH?! ********* I spoke to another mechanic and not only did he tell me that Midas probably knew that the car was covered under warranty, he almost 100% believes the code was deleted. He said the light would come on again. I am almost over the mileage to be covered under extended warranty... if I go over I will have to pay for something that would have been free if Midas didn't delete the code. I am mortified, and so sad, because this is a lot of money for me. IN CONCLUSION MIDA MECHANICS SHOULD KNOW WARRANTY COVERAGE AND INFORM CUSTOMERS INSTEAD OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS. I called around to a couple different locations to help me with a strange noise that was coming from my car, which isn't normal. Granted my car is older, I usually don't have big problems with it, but the guys at Midas were able to get down to the problem. I'm usually great with maintenance, but completely overlooked the timing belt and it was nearly shredded broken. The Nick and his guys at Midas were able to get that fixed as well as the water pump and a couple of other things, within the same day and for a rather reasonable price. I was pretty happy with my experience, and they did a great job! Parts are lifetime warranty and the labor is a year warranty, which is pretty good as well. read more

I ruined the guard on the bottom of my car to the point that it tore, screws popped off, and was dragging on the floor. I called a few shops nearby to see if someone was willing to help so I could at least hop on the freeway to get home. Unfortunately, none of the shops were willing to help. To make matters worse, I was about 7 months pregnant and couldn't get underneath the car to try and figure it out myself. Thank God for Jared and his team - they made the time to fix my car enough so I could get home and I couldn't believe that he wasn't willing to take any payment. I wish I had cash so I could leave at least a little something for them. On top of their generosity, I overheard a few conversations Jared had with other customers - it's very clear that they care about each and every customer and are fair with pricing and repairs. Midas saves the day!!! Yesterday I had a horrible experience at another Automotive shop in Roseville. Upselling, tried to overcharge me by 100% for an air filter etc. Got in the car this morning and my car kept dying after I started it. I finally got it running and drove straight to Midas downtown by my office. I called and spoke with Sean right when they opened. Explained what happened. The other shop replaced my air filter and told me my battery needed to be replaced. I knew poor air circulation could be a problem and crossed my fingers that the other shop installed the filter wrong. Fast forward about an hour, John texts me a picture of my air filter assembly and it's not clicked shut. Ta da!!! Then they checked my battery and told me it's starting to fail, just be aware and it's close to needing to be replaced. Cost? $0!! I love these guys and will give them my business from now on!! Today I was getting off the freeway at 16th and my car rolled over something. I didn't think much of it, but as I drove down 16th it felt like my tire was flat. I checked all tires and none were flat but it kept making the noise, especially when I used my brakes. My husband spotted this Midas and suggested we try them after the mechanic I normally go to said he couldn't help me until the next day when I called. They took us in right away and in less than 10 minutes had my car lifted up and ended up pulling out a huge rock that got jammed inside! They were so friendly, fast and helpful and wouldn't even charge us for it when we asked what we owed! Got my oil changed here & ended up having some water drain issues inside my car shortly after... realize it was my AC. So, I prop my car up to drain it, and see that someone actually stuck a bolt in my AC drain line. Before I'm gaslit by management, I recall watching the tech and seeing him fiddle with a few bolts, which I'm sure the security footage will confirm as well. AND, I know it was done by same guy who got mad at me for asking if they did the tire rotation (which is marketed as being included in the price), which I hadn't seen him do... and so, had to go back and change them after he had handed me my keys. I came in for an oil change this morning and got amazing service. I also told Shawn (the owner) about my AC compressor issue, which he said they'd check out, as well as any other issues. Got a quote for everything emailed to me within an hour. As a woman, I'm often left with the impression that I'm being swindled at whatever autoshop I go to - but it really didn't feel that way today. Genuinely felt like they cared more about keeping the customer happy (ie wallet intact) and having them return, than robbing them blind with overinflated parts & labor prices. He was so helpful throughout the whole process, I could tell everyone in the shop was working hard and my car was in and out within 10-15 mins. This mechanic shop takes no accountability for the damage they cause during the course of their work. I took my car in for an inspection that I was later told was simple and non-invasive. However, before the inspection my heating system was working great. After the inspection the heater would not work at all and a clicking noise would come on whenever I tried to activate it. When I took it back the manager didn't care and turned it over to his tech who also didn't care and basically said I was SOL unless I did the costly repair process of over $1,600. They took no accountability for the damage they caused during their inspection and wanted me to pay for everything. It is sad that there are places like this and people like this. read more

Pretty sure Midas on 16th took my money in bad faith. In March 2021, Jiffy Lube on Capital up-sold me on and poorly administered a fuel system cleaning service that spewed carbon throughout my engine- which they then refused to do anything about. Jiffy has since fired the manager who up-sold me and stopped offering the service, but still refuses to take responsibility. The truck was excellent prior- smogged a week before Jiffy's fuel system cleaning. I've had expensive repairs since then and never had issues before: Replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump 6 months later with less than 100,000 miles on the truck. Multiple sensors had to be manually cleaned for my truck to be functional (with remaining issues). After getting wind of new management at Jiffy, I went for a simple oil change and to chat with the new manager. The truck immediately acted up again and died at the first stoplight. New manager did a diagnostic and told me my O2 sensor was bad and that I had several engine misfire codes. He said himself the oil change could have dislodged left-over carbon from the 3/21 service and that if the system hadn't been purged out well enough it could burn up the O2 sensor. He said since he's not licensed I'd need to get something in writing stating what could have caused the damage from a licensed mechanic. I brought my truck to Midas for a 2nd diagnostic and provided Jiffy's diagnostic with service records from Jiffy's fuel system cleaning 3/2021. I specifically told them upfront the only reason I needed another diagnostic was to have something in writing as to what could have potentially caused the damage. When I picked my truck up, Jon (the mechanic) verbally told me in multiple ways how the fuel system cleaning service could have caused the damage to my O2 sensor, but that he wouldn't put anything in writing. I spoke with Jon and Jared the manager at Midas more about this to see what could be done. They called Jiffy Lube and doubled down on refusing to provide any potential causes and then said it was impossible that the service could have caused the damage this far out, even though I've had intermittent issues with: rough idling, inconsistent starting/dying at stoplights, RPM lags/surges, etc.- ever since 3/2021. Their response after speaking with Jiffy contradicted everything they'd just told me in detail. They knew the service took place 1.5 years prior and scanned these records before doing their diagnostic. They had all the information they needed, but had no intentions of providing documentation of what they would verbalize to me, but wouldn't document in writing. So, I paid $90 for no new information and to be talked down to. When I asked for a refund, they refused that too. Nice. read more

Came in for a complete front brake pad change and was very impressed with the no BS and customer service, in addition to the actual service, I received. It's hard coming in as a woman who knows a decent amount about cars and instantly knew by the way I was treated I would not be taken advantage of here. Their suggestions were sincere, I was shown the parts that were recommended for replacement and talked through what the job would entail and why they were recommending what they were. They even found a coupon to help with charges I wasn't aware of. Listening to the conversations with customers while I was waiting continued to prove to me that this is where I will be coming from now on for car repairs. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO THIS MIDAS LOCATION! I don't know what has happend to this Midas location, their service used to be top notch, but now their service SUCKS big time! Both my daughter and I used to take our cars to this location. I recently took my 2015 Kia Sorento about six months ago, just to get a routine oil change after a few days I notice oil in my drive way. I took my car back to Midas and they did not do some to which all the oil leaked out of my car. Needless to say I was beyond pissed. So about a week ago on September 13th (I wanted to give them another chance), I took my 2012 Audi Q5 for a routine oil change. I even told the receptionist what happened to my Kia and she noted to put this in my file records. So, again after a few days I noticed oil in my driveway and when I drove my car for the first time after getting an oil change, the oil light came on saying to put oil in my car immediately. There literally was no oil in my car! I had to go straight to Auto Zone and purchase oil to put in my car. I took my car back on the 18th and I was told the gasket needed to be replaced. So needless to say when I drove my car again after Midas supposedly fixing the leak, the leak was not repaired. Do you think the shop manager, Robert Hunt apologized for the leak, not once! Now I am debating should I take my car back for a third time or take it to Audi to repair the leak. Oh did I mention when Midas changed the oil on my Audi, they stripped the screw to the oil pan and I had to take to Audi to get the oil pan taken off. If I could give a 0 rating I would. This place rocks! We called after our car began shaking badly going over the pass. They helped us realize that the lug nuts had not been properly tightened after a tire rotation at a previous car repair shop and that one of the lug nuts was rusted and not functioning properly. As we are not from the area and are not "car people," they definitely could have taken advantage of the situation but they were straightforward and helpful. Instead of fixing the problem themselves for hundreds of dollars, they charged us $25 and gave us the necessary information to get the problem fixed complementary from the previous repair shop.
