*** DISHONEST PRICING*** ***NEGLIGENT WORK*** I dropped off my car at Midas so they could investigate a belt noise. My car was running fine and had no engine performance issues, no misfires, no backfires, no acceleration, no idling problems, no knocking or banging noises, no check engine light. They told me I needed to replace my timing belt and quoted me $3,500 ($3k with "veterans discount"). I thought that was too high of a price. After calling other shops and getting much lower price quotes (less than half of what Midas quoted me), Midas lowered their price and agreed to do the work for $1600. I agreed to authorize them to do the timing belt replacement out of convenience to avoid having to leave my job early (PTO hours) to go pick up my car at Midas and take it to another shop. The result: They improperly installed a new timing belt causing damage to cylinder head components. The timing belt replacement took several days with problems: First problem: they had an issue with a leaking water pump that came with the replacement kit, so they had to order a new one. Second problem: they didn't have the appropriate timing tool kit while doing the belt replacement work, so they had to wait on the right kit to be brought to the shop. Third problem: the improper installation of the new timing belt caused a valve to bend. They acknowledged their mistake and agreed to replace the valve at their expense. They also told me that I would be reimbursed for a rental car, but no more than $30 per day. Current problem: they discovered 2 cracked camshaft caps, and they also agreed to repair that damage at their expense. My car has been at their shop for nearly 4 weeks, and they still haven't fully fixed their mistake. There's a good chance that there's further damage that was caused to other parts of the cylinder head, engine block, or other components. I was told several times that the District Manager will talk to me on site or call me. He didn't show up or call me. Now the store supervisor I was working with this entire time was transferred to another shop. They have not documented any notes in their system about the damage they caused and parts they have replaced or have to replace because of the damage they caused. read more

Reposting because this Midas needs to be shut down ASAP or change of management ASAP Original Post: I was driving down the interstate when my car suddenly lost power and started idling rough with misfires. The closest place I could limp it to was this Midas. I dropped it off on a Friday, and they told me they could look at it the next day, but they charge a $165 diagnostic fee (which would go toward the repair if I went forward). The next morning, they called to say the issue was ignition coils in cylinders 1 and 4. The woman on the phone acted like she was giving me a discount, but then hit me with a $1,300 quote. I had just replaced my spark plugs in January, so I knew they didn't need to be replaced - yet she insisted they "had" to replace all four coil packs and spark plugs, no exceptions. I told them I'd pass and pick up my car. On the way, I stopped at O'Reilly's and bought a coil pack of 4 for $250. I drove my car across the street to a Murphy's parking lot, swapped them out myself in 20 minutes, and the car now runs perfectly. That's right - I fixed it myself for $1,000 less than their quote. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE unless you want to be overcharged and taken advantage of. New Update: As of now, I've driven my car as far as Maine and back with no issues. TLDR: They l play in your car by installing things incorrectly, fucking it up more and lying about it. Please take them to court if you can afford the fees! Either they are actually bad at their jobs and don't know what they are doing or they are evil mfs trying to drain you of money. They messed up my family member's car after it was takin in for a simple part replacement and fucked the engine because they PUT THE PART IN WRONG. They admitted to it but are now back tracking. It seems to be a pattern with this location and the people who work there. I guess we should have known when the bozos who work there pulled up LATE and hungover. Since this seems to be a reoccurring problem at this location, if you experience something similar, contact the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully if enough ppl do it something happens (idk). This Midas location screwed me as well as the main office. I asked for an oil/filter change and a transmission flush. I left with my car making noises it didn't on the way. I called them and they blamed me saying my car was missing a bolt. That wouldn't make that noise. I took my car to another place. They found my oil a filthy sludge. And they also used the wrong transmission fluid. I went to the main office and they replied and asked for support. I provided it to them and never heard back. The money I spent at Midas was a waste. I had to spend even more to have my car fixed from the damage they did. Zero stars if I could read more

Had to share a horrible experience with the Midas locate at 4255 N. Foster Rd., Converse TX. Took my 2018 BMW there week of 11 May 2024. Was told i needed a new compressor, expansion valve and condenser. The condenser took approximately 4 or 5 days to come in, so I drove my car until it came in since I had no other transportation but had to pay full price while I waited ($3,758.32). A/C went out approximately 8 days later, so I called to let them know. I was told best thing to do is bring in morning because it could take awhile and I said I would but did not specify what day, just in the morning. I had visitors at my home, so needed my car while guest were visiting. I decided to make an online appointment with Midas and was called by Midas saying I did not have to make an appointment and they read my comments and said they thought I was bringing it by days ago when I called. And explained that because my car is a BMW they do not hold certain parts and that is why is takes time. They could have said that when I first brought my car in and I would have never used them, but they got their money then explained that part in my opinion, I explained I had company and made the appointment when I could afford to go without my car. In my opinion, person was rude and upset about my comments in the comment section. Dropped off my car at 0930 (16 Jun). They closed at 6 PM. I did NOT receive a call or update the entire day. It is 17 Jun 3:15 PM right now and I decided to call. I was told they ordered some parts or one part?? So all this time I was not informed of anything until I called a day later?? This is totally unacceptable and poor customer service! I will continue to share my experience and NEVER use them again. read more

As of today September 22, 2925 Midas had not paid Audi deanship for the prior authorization made for failed maintenance. I went in for oil change and the technician drained the transmission fluid. Audi was told Mary and her husband who was later identified as the technician who made the costly mistake. Midas has 2 business days to reply and correct their wrong!!!!! read more

Its been almost 3 years since Midas said they would replace my Jeep Rubicon engine. They saud it had slivers in the oil. So I paid them 6000.00 to have it fixed. They're on the 4th engine. I never had my jeep for more than a month before engine problems. But it's been atleast a year and a half they've had my jeep. Today they said they don't know where it is. Yes they've officially lost my vehicle. 6 months ago they scheduled for it to go to the jeep dealership after the third engine put in. They told me a month ago. They will replace it and I would have it the next week. It's been a month. I needed some paperwork work and needed to know where my vehicle to retrieve was located to get it. I took my 2020 Equinox LS an 2017 Subaru Wrx in for oil changes 3 days after my oil change my equinox stopped starting up couple days after that my Subaru stopped working as well I've had my Subaru sense it was brand new with only 2 miles on it an my equinox I have had for 7 months I took my equinox in for them to see what they did an they tried to charge me to find out what the issue is I'm definitely suing because both of my vehicles had no issues until I brung into this place I will not allow them to get over on me I am a retired veteran an I've survived my country I should not have to deal with unprofessional businesses like this please avoid this place if you care about your vehicle I should have just went to firestone an paid $100 for my oil change instead of taking Midas Special they had for 59.99 for a full synthetic oil change. read more

I wasn't going to review but this place and whatever the woman name is at the front desk is absolutely TRASH. Let's start by me having an appointment to get my rims and tires changed to a new set. I rush home from work to get my car there early like they asked just for the front desk lady to tell me Oh we may not be able to take your car. It was 4pm they close at 6pm. She then proceeded to tell me that the charge for a regular (stock tire) job is $80 but because 22 inch rims are "hard" for the mechanic it'll probably be $400... WTF? So when I asked where that price list is at, she couldn't provide it. So basically she was making up an outrageous price. Ok. Well what about military discount? "We don't offer that." Cool. So they're liars and they don't support the troops. absolutely stay away from this location. I went across the street and got the same job done for $100. Since December 2023 till April 1 2024. I had the worst experience of my life with Midas off of Foster Rd. I had taken my car in to get an oil change. They told me I had an leak. So I had them fix it. Come to find out after about driving it around for a week. It still had an leak issue. I took it back in an was charged again to get it fixed and some other issues they said I needed fixed. First time was $444.93 and the second time was $2453.72 (977.00$ was the fix for the second leak plus plug) other things that was needed done. So I drove it around the second time for another week. Come to find out there is still a leak. So the third time I took it back to get it fixed. They called me to go pick it up and I Uber down there again. They told me when I arrived my car doesn't want to start. Well I be dam I said. So I left my car in the shop for 2 months and 1/2 because they couldn't figure out what happened. They obviously now had it towed to a different shop. So after 3 months exactly I went to pickup my car and there was a engine top with some sort of metal stick and a bunch of screws. I took it back in the Midas off and the Manager came out with me to figure out what it from. We opened the hood up and tried to put the engine top back on my car. Guess what? It didn't belong to my. So now I'm missing a engine top. I looked around and I noticed I'm also missing a cap to where the window wiper fluid go, my engine hoes also tap up with duck tape. I direct to the manager and she called the district manager which whom I been dealing with for the last 4 months. They said I came in with the tap on the hoes which I know I didn't. Bought that car brand new and Midas has been the only one that has worked on my car. Back to my bad report. I turn my car on and when I start the engine. It wouldn't stuttered then turn on. Sometimes doesn't start at all. Engine light is on and another light as well. I direct that issue to them and they said we only was supposed to get it started for you and can not fix all the other issues for you. I was like I didn't have any issues with my car when it went in. Now my car is worst than ever. So please please don't take your car in their shop. I went as far as calling the cooperation department. I want to post this review with a negative star but I have to choose one. If the owner does read this. I have spoken to the assistant manager, manager, district manager and the direct number that you have provided in all this other reviews. I'm so disappointed in this situation. read more

I took my car there to have a noise checked out. The catalytic converter was stolen while in Midas's possession. The person answering the phone seemed to not even be aware that her job was to be helpful to the customers. Ike told me he'd talk to management about what happened and get back to me. This never happened. Mind you I can't even drive my car now. I didn't hear back so I called and found out that "management" said that because there are signs saying they aren't liable for anything stolen there was nothing they could do. That was it. No apology or an offering of a discount or anything at all. The only thing they seemed to communicate was it's not our fault so bye. The customer service here is terrible. They damaged my vehicle on the lift. When I asked what happened, half the crew laughed and joked about it, then said they didn't know what happened. After reviewing cameras, the manager and district manager (Mario) said they did damage it, but it wasn't a big deal, so I could go get 3 estimates and come back when that's done. I understand accidents happen, but they will not take responsibility. I tried to call corporate while I was in the store, not being rude or trying to make a scene, but to make sure all parties could answer any questions I had, and they tried to call the cops on me to get me to leave. I have had mostly good experiences there in the past, but I urge you, if you go, make sure you have proof your car is in order. They will lie and try to fight to avoid responsibility. read more

I came for an oil change and inspected sticker. I was here over an hour, two people who came in after me left 30-45 minutes before me. As I sat in the lobby had full view of tech guy. I saw him hitting something under my car, I took a video. I asked why they were taking so long and why was the guy hitting my car. The response was oh he's having trouble with the filter, but he's almost done. I will never come here again. I may have to take to Toyota to make sure nothings wrong. read more

Worst experience ever!!! My husbands truck needed a new rack and pinion. Ok fine we paid for it ($1100 btw) and got Midas to install it. Immediately notice something was wrong. A technician installed the sway bars wrong and they were bent because of it . Brought it back up to Midas they fixed the sway bars and we informed them we noticed a fluid leak. They said they could not find a fluid leak. Fast forward 6 months after the rack and pinion installation the leak was worse. Brought it back to Midas because we are under a one year labor warranty and lifetime part warranty. The technician once again didn't screw a part in correctly and caused the entire rack and pinion to bind up. So here we are again with another new rack and pinion 3 trip to Midas in 6 month because of the rack and pinion and their dumb technicians. When my husband made the comment about the technicians being dumb the guy at the desk defended the technician by saying he isn't dumb ( ok fine poor choice of words on my husband part) just some times when we're busy we get in a rush and things get installed wrong like that's an excuse for doing ur job incorrectly twice!! My husband picks up his truck after the new installation today and notices it turn right fine and smooth but left turn it's like sand and when he comes out of the turn the steering snap hard back to center. We make another trip back to Midas 4 times in six months. They can't even give us time for someone to get in the truck to see what my husband is explained until 30 mins of waiting and we got told we could leave it with them if we didn't wanna wait after it's been here for 4 days already waiting for them to install the new rack and pinion that is still messed up. I have been going here for a few months and the first time I went all went well and I was satisfied with the oil change, the 2nd time I went they left the oil cap off and oil was making my car smoke so I took it back and was given a coupon for a free oil change. I went to this same Midas on Friday for my free oil change and all was well until Saturday evening I was trying get to work and my AT light came on the dashboard and oil was leaking heavily. I called Midas and they let me know they would get it towed and if it was something they did they would take care of it until they notice they had 45 minutes til closing so they said at 7:30 on Monday morning. So here we are Monday morning and to make an even longer story short they told the tow truck before they checked it out that I would pay for the tow, tried to place blame on the dealership I purchased my vehicle, might I add that's never had any issues, told me that they put transmission fluid in my car , and not to go over 20 MPH, Don't shift gears past 3, and stay close to the area. My car hadn't had ANY ISSUES prior to this visit and now I still have to find a mechanic to fix their carelessly mistake. read more
